Terrible customer service at this Ben n Jerry's. Trying to redeem a free scoops coupon and the server then tried to up sell you by suggesting you get an additional scoop for $1. Sounds like a good deal, why not? But here's the problem. 1. Server didn't ask whether I wanted a cup or cone. She just proceeded to scoop ice cream into a cup as if she knew a cup was what I needed. 2. After I confirmed with her that the coupon works with cones and I would prefer a cone, she proceeded to dump the ice cream from the cup back into the main ice cream container. Ummm, can't you just transfer the cup contents directly onto the cone or scoop out fresh ice cream. I don't have cooties or anything but that's like you ask a burger to be sent back at a restaurant and they just turn around and sell that burger to the next customer. Not a best practice for a place that sell food, imho. 3. Server tried to charge full price for ice cream. When pressed, she claims she didn't know about coupons. Excuse me? I guess that whole earlier question about whether the free scoops coupon is OK with the cone doesn't count as my intention to use said coupon? Server insisted that manager is only OK with 50% discount on scoop but her earlier promise of $1 scoop upgrade isn't available. I'm quite familiar with this bait and switch tactic from businesses with unsavory reputations. However, I would not imagine that Ben n Jerry's, a company that supposedly have high ethics standards with all their support for the environment and do good marketing campaigns, would stoop so low and treat customers this way. I'm very disappointed. Ben n Jerry's, you let me down. I don't want to step into this shop or eat Ben n Jerry's again. The upside of this encounter is that I will lose a lot of weight now I've stopped eating their ice cream. I encourage other customers to do the same. I was there yesterday afternoon with a few of my middle school kids (I am a youth group leader) and although the teenage girls working there were patient and somewhat nice, they gave EXTREMELY small scoops. Ben and Jerry's is probably my fave ice cream place out of the big chains. Love that they offer dairy free options. The chocolate chip cookie dough has very generous morsels of cookie dough. Coconut almond fudge chip had nice chunky choc chips but kind of too many almond slivers.... It's more expensive than the cheapo places but it tastes better -- plus it's fair trade & non gmo. The girl working was great, she was very friendly and helpful, my ice cream cone special was awesome, I had chunky monkey and cherry garcia ice cream. My boring boyfriend ordered the Steve Colbert shake or something. We both like drumstick ice cream but to me the point is that it has all of the awesome chunks in it, when it's blended it's boring. He enjoyed it but liked mine more. The tables were dirty but I don't care to be honest, and I'd like to comment one more time that the girl working was very friendly and we enjoyed her service a lot. I was at Ben & Jerry's and ordered two sugar cones, which I did not know a sugar cone is considered a kid's cone...I ordered a single scoop on a sugar cone, and I got a kid's serving. The scoop was very small and when I paid...it was almost $12 for both. I felt very disaapointed with the price for such extremely SMALL amount of ice cream, enough for a 2 year old!The person who served our ice cream did not tell us it was a kid's serving until we paid we found out. I always liked Ben & Jerry's. Though the ice cream is available at grocery stores, I still try to satisfy my sweet tooth at a real store. This store is relatively small, not too clean, and conveniently located in the heart of Old Burbank near the ginormous AMC 16 theater. Most of the customers were peeps just coming out from a movie which can make the store pretty busy and crowded. On Free Cone Day, prepare to stand in line out the door! My favorites are Cherry Garcia and Funky Monkey. Love the rich fruity flavors, the creaminess, and the aroma. The treats are kind of pricey. I am not a big Ben & Jerry's fan but when my son asked if we could go there the other day while dining at nearby Kabuki it sounded like a yummy dessert option, I told him of course! we can. After devouring a pint of Sapporo Japanese beer, ice cream sounds like a REAL good idea! and that it was, we meandered our way on over there and I tasted a bunch of different flavors and ended up with the strawberry shortcake scoop, on top of a brownie with caramel, whip cream and rainbow sprinkles - this was pretty good but nothing out of this world. I could have whipped up something better for us at home. I'm actually surprised this location is still open for business with a Coldstone opening so close. My son got the chocolate pb flavor and chocolate chip cookie dough. The smallest serving is 2 scoops which is a little over $4 - when the pre packs in the fridge are $5 something. We didn't realize this until after we had ordered an additional 2 or 3 double scoops for my brother and sis! Major fail! I was exhausted and a little tipsy and was right on the edge of telling them to dump those scoops back in and we'd just go with the pre packs but my Mom was there and she was paying and she's much more friendly than I am but I could even tell she was a little t'ed off. If I do return I think I'll go for a scoop on a chocolate sprinkled cone, and if they tell me that has to be 2 scoops, I'll tell them to shove it and walk over to Coldstone. If you want Ben & Jerry's you may be better off in the frozen isle of your local Ralph's. read more

Went here the other day and the service was abismal at best. It was 4pm and all the lights inside the store were off, and when I asked the woman behind the counter about it she had no idea what I was talking about. I asked to try two flavors but the flavors I sampled were not the ones I asked for (pretty sure the frosted flakes aren't supposed to be minty and that the fruity loops aren't supposed to have brown swirls...), so I went with my classic chunky monkey. It took them forever to pack my pint, it looked like both the girls behind the counter were sluggish and in slow motion, so the line built up behind me pretty quickly. I guess my customer service expectations are different than others. Just visited this Ben & Jerry's on Palm in Burbank and left a little disappointed. I walk in and the AC is not running and felt warmer inside than outside. Asked if the AC was broken and their answer was that they are only allow to run the AC during certain hours of the day. Really??? If I'm paying top dollar for a product then the service should be top notch as well. And hire some folks that enjoy being their and not have looks on there faces like they rather be somewhere else. read more

My Cousin and his fiancee got a waffle cone with one scoop of ice cream, a single scoop in a cup for her and i got the brownie sundae.. I asked how many flavors can i get with that, the clerk looked at me and said one. It only has one scoop of ice cream for 6.79 I was taken aback and said well add a scoop and ill pay extra for it. I can't he said. I have to give you the scoop in a cup separate from the sundae.. I questioned why? I can't put it on top of the other scoop on the sundae he retorted.. I was miffed but i said eh fuck it put it in the cup ill dump it on the sundae. So after all was said and done a waffle cone, a brownie, and four scoops of ice cream cost me a grand total of 22 bucks?! I was laughing to myself thinking i could get the whole pint for 3.99 at the grocery store. but they were laughing all the way to the bank and will continue to do so for all the suckers who over pay for their measly ice cream scoop.
