As someone who loves ice cream and especially all of the fun, limited-edition collaborations Van Leeuwen is known for, I was excited to see they opened a new location in Downtown Burbank. I have been a fan since they opened in Studio City, which is usually my go-to location, but this one has something extra. Frozen yogurt! As far as I know, there are only a couple of Van Leeuwen locations that offers fro-yo. I visited on opening day, which made the experience even more special. The owners were there, including Peter Van Leeuwen himself, who shared that this is his "home" location since he lives in Burbank. It was nice to see how excited everyone was to welcome the community. Van Leeuwen has always stood out because they focus on high-quality, simple ingredients and aren't afraid to get creative with unique flavors and collaborations and that is the vibe you get when you walk in. I went with a friend so we could try both "styles." I ordered the Matcha/Coconut fro-yo topped with cookie dough and Biscoff crumbles. I was trying to be somewhat healthy while still treating myself. It was was creamy, refreshing, and the toppings were the perfect addition. My friend ordered the Chocolate Peanut Butter Sundae, which looked just as good as it tasted. They also had opening day specials, which made it the perfect excuse to stop by and check it out. While there are plenty of dessert spots in Downtown Burbank, Van Leeuwen definitely stands out for its friendly hospitality and creative, high-quality flavors. Parking is easy, too. Downtown Burbank offers plenty of free parking and you can even park at the mall and take a short walk over.

The layout is like any other ice cream store. There's no place to sit inside, but there's one bench outside that can seat 3. Service was ok and I asked for 3 samples, the Sicily pistachios, the hojicha, and mango sticky rice. The Hojicha is too sweet, the mango sticky rice is good but I worried too much of it would taste overly sweet. The Sicily Pistachio is just a strong nutty flavor ice cream. In the end, we got the Honeycomb and Earl Grey Tea flavors. For $9.25, the volume is a bit stingy. Earl grey is the best, honeycomb is just very vanilla. Their fridge is well stocked up with the pretty color small tubs of a vary of flavors.

June 25, 2026 - we have several great ice cream stores in Burbank, they are all great but we totally love Van Leeuwen Ice Cream. Craving exotic or unusual flavors? Mango Sticky Rice, Earl Grey, Strawberry Yuzu.... Great addition to Downtown Burbank. Totally love these flavors.... Matcha Strawberry Earl grey Honeycomb Mango Sticky Rice Can't wait to try the other flavors and also their shakes and the frozen yogurt. AWESOME SERVICE ... the young lady that helped me out was super friendly. Thanks for being patient after trying 5 samples.

So many flavors! Come here if you want a good strong coffee ice cream. Good prices. Probably some of the friendliest, most helpful staff I've ever encountered. Everyone working the late afternoon of June 25th deserves a huge shoutout. Came on the day of their $1 promotion without realizing and were the lucky last customers thanks to the super nice employees! 10/10 recommend. Will update with a full review later.

This store also has fro-yo which I hadn't seen a Van Leeuwen store do before so that's unique.

I wander into Slusheeland and clock the menu, lots of fresh fruits and an overwhelming assortment of drinks and offerings. It's like a boba shop but with the OG Mexican flare of juices and street snack delights! I have to watch my sugar intake as I gotta get me new years new you beach bod going. Instead of a sweet treat I went with the snackiest of snacks the Tostilocos with mango subbed for pork rinds and no Clamato! Vegan Friendly FTW! Service was amazing and everyone was wonderful! Like it's rare getting quality service like this and they are dialed in!!!! Let's talk about the vegan style Tostilocos I just watched them prepare... This is some sophisticated snackage I really went buck wild on this offering that seems more like a wild craving of the pregnancy kind BUT IT WORKS!!! Sweet, savory, salty, tangy, spicy, crunchy tender chunks of fresh mango and crisp jicama. It hits every tastebud and nearly every texture in a crazy accomplishment of delight! It was perfection and basically delivered the food pyramid in one snack! Needless to say next time I'm in the area I'm getting this again!

Right when I exited the Chinese restaurant, Cold Stone was staring at me in the most inviting way and welcomed me in. I was greeted by Laila A. with a pleasant smile, and was ready to help me. She was very helpful by asking me what she can get for me. By looking all the delicious, creamy options that they had to offer; I went with a Cake Batter. Medium, nice, full scoop of ice cream that was just a bit smaller than my own head!:-) The ice cream tasted SO DELICIOUS, CREAMY, AND YUMMY! They also make ice cream right in front of you with whatever toppings that you desire. I chose my ice cream plain. The shop is small, clean, filled with a lot of happy customers. They had at least 5 employees working there and all eager to help you. I sampled 2 different ice creams until made my decision. Got it in a nice, big waffle cone. Chill ambiance, they also have their signature creations, make ice cream cakes, milk shakes, and fridge full of ready made goodies. Also, have few tables & chairs right outside of the creamery. I missed Cold Stone so much that I was happy to see one in the Burbank shopping center where AMC movie theatre is, along with other shops and restaurants. Most Cold Stones are out of business.:-((unfortunately. Thank you Laila, and staff. They also had one bathroom, clean.

But after dining, we find ourselves too full. :( Today we decided to walk around and check out some of the vintage, second-hand, consignment stores after lunch. About 2 hours later, we were ready! This was our first visit to this location. We were greeted by Taija as we walked in. As the husband was reading through the descriptions, she offered samples to help him decide. For me? I was so happy to see the Honey Butter Corn! This was the flavor that hooked me to Wanderlust -- two scoops in a freshly made Brown Butter Waffle Bowl PLEASE! The husband chose Cookie Dough and Black Sesame Cookies & Cream in an Ube Waffle Bowl. The flavors are wonderfully creative and unique -- so refreshing on a hot summer day! Taija was so nice and super fun to chat with as she prepared our order. She talked about the rewards system which convinced us to sign up (yes, I'll be working towards that giant tub!). Needless to say, we'll be back! This Wanderlust Creamery is a good size compared to others, with enough seating inside and outside. Cute decor. Clean and bright. Parking is easy in the back.

Ice cream shops can feel like a dime a dozen, but if you're into unique Asian-inspired flavors like ube, green tea, and mango sticky rice, Wanderlust delivers. We've tried a lot here, but we always come back to two favorites: mango sticky rice and ube crunch. If mango sticky rice is on the menu at a Thai restaurant, we're ordering it, so I'd like to think we're semi-serious connoisseurs. So I was skeptical the first time we tried Wanderlust's version, but it really does taste like the real thing, including that little touch of saltiness that makes it work. If this was the only flavor they sold, I'd still keep coming back.
