Got to have the Original Hot Fudge Jar

The staff is friendly and the ice cream is delicious. Located outside the Burbank Mall near Old Navy on Palm. There is no seating inside the place but they do have outdoor tables to enjoy your favorite ice cream.

First of all, service we got was amazing tonight. Our scooper was kind, she has the best smile, and she made us felt welcoming even though it's crowded. I took the picture of the menu, attached. The price is high. As the portion is kind of toward the smaller side. I will pay around the same for the other gelato place but get more ice cream. I love that they keep offering great tea flavor ice creams that no one else has, like hojicha and I do love their earl grey tea flavor. Unfortunately, the shop doesn't smell that well. Waffles got stale or simply not ventilated great I have no idea. Hope they will fix that soon. Glad we got a good ice cream place at burbank .

Planet Earth = spirulina gives it the blue tint. It's almond flavor with bits of matcha cake. Yum!

This store also has fro-yo which I hadn't seen a Van Leeuwen store do before so that's unique. Didn't get to try the fro-yo because their limited edition Planet Earth flavor turned my head. The staff are friendly and happy to give tasting samples. The store feels a little dimly lit compared to other locations but you're just there to grab some French ice cream. Enjoy your very generous scoop from the scattering of tables and chairs in front of the store.

I was driving by and I saw the poster for the Shirley temple float and I immediately pulled over. I LOVE a Shirley temple. The girl who prepared it gave me 5 of those delicious cherries. And the ice cream was so good. It's topped with ginger ale. I wish I could relive it right now. I will definitely come back for another one!

As someone who loves ice cream and especially all of the fun, limited-edition collaborations Van Leeuwen is known for, I was excited to see they opened a new location in Downtown Burbank. I have been a fan since they opened in Studio City, which is usually my go-to location, but this one has something extra. Frozen yogurt! As far as I know, there are only a couple of Van Leeuwen locations that offers fro-yo. I visited on opening day, which made the experience even more special. The owners were there, including Peter Van Leeuwen himself, who shared that this is his "home" location since he lives in Burbank. It was nice to see how excited everyone was to welcome the community. Van Leeuwen has always stood out because they focus on high-quality, simple ingredients and aren't afraid to get creative with unique flavors and collaborations and that is the vibe you get when you walk in. I went with a friend so we could try both "styles." I ordered the Matcha/Coconut fro-yo topped with cookie dough and Biscoff crumbles. I was trying to be somewhat healthy while still treating myself. It was was creamy, refreshing, and the toppings were the perfect addition. My friend ordered the Chocolate Peanut Butter Sundae, which looked just as good as it tasted. They also had opening day specials, which made it the perfect excuse to stop by and check it out. While there are plenty of dessert spots in Downtown Burbank, Van Leeuwen definitely stands out for its friendly hospitality and creative, high-quality flavors. Parking is easy, too. Downtown Burbank offers plenty of free parking and you can even park at the mall and take a short walk over.

The layout is like any other ice cream store. There's no place to sit inside, but there's one bench outside that can seat 3. Service was ok and I asked for 3 samples, the Sicily pistachios, the hojicha, and mango sticky rice. The Hojicha is too sweet, the mango sticky rice is good but I worried too much of it would taste overly sweet. The Sicily Pistachio is just a strong nutty flavor ice cream. In the end, we got the Honeycomb and Earl Grey Tea flavors. For $9.25, the volume is a bit stingy. Earl grey is the best, honeycomb is just very vanilla. Their fridge is well stocked up with the pretty color small tubs of a vary of flavors.

June 25, 2026 - we have several great ice cream stores in Burbank, they are all great but we totally love Van Leeuwen Ice Cream. Craving exotic or unusual flavors? Mango Sticky Rice, Earl Grey, Strawberry Yuzu.... Great addition to Downtown Burbank. Totally love these flavors.... Matcha Strawberry Earl grey Honeycomb Mango Sticky Rice Can't wait to try the other flavors and also their shakes and the frozen yogurt. AWESOME SERVICE ... the young lady that helped me out was super friendly. Thanks for being patient after trying 5 samples.

So many flavors! Come here if you want a good strong coffee ice cream. Good prices. Probably some of the friendliest, most helpful staff I've ever encountered. Everyone working the late afternoon of June 25th deserves a huge shoutout. Came on the day of their $1 promotion without realizing and were the lucky last customers thanks to the super nice employees! 10/10 recommend. Will update with a full review later.

I was excited when I found out they recently opened a location in Burbank! My friends and I stopped by on a Sunday evening and although there was a line, it moved quickly. The person who helped me was friendly and let me sample two flavors before deciding on the mango sticky rice flavor. It was good and I appreciated that they have a variety of vegan options. You can get your ice cream in a cup, waffle cone, or as a cookie sundae. The space is small and does not have tables inside. There are a few tables outside where you can enjoy your ice cream.

    Matcha froyo

Sprouts had it, once I actually started eating it, they discontinued it lol. I love that for the majority of flavors it's so much cleaner than other brands. I realized there was flavors I wanted to try, not in those stores. I texted cs (SUPER helpful btw) but they told me the stores had all the flavors. GCM can be a pain, and my friend sent me a story about that store, so I'm glad I ended up in studio city. I wrote her name but can't find it. I think it was Mirka. So sweet and helpful. She was patient while I tried some of the flavors I had curiosity around but had never seen in the stores. At the time the double strawberry sees collab flavor was new, tried it and liked it. The pbj needed strawberry jelly instead. There was other flavors I hadn't heard of. It was nice to be at the helm of the flavors lol. I did a sampler flight and got the strawberry sees one to go home. I will say, it's $13 in store, and a while back WF had a kick ass sale and I paid $4! But they didn't have all the flavors! So I suppose it's worth it lol. I came again w a friend. I wanted to do the corn and berries and try the berry crumble. I was so intrigued by corn and berries, but let me tell you, it's chillin w its cousins in my freezer! I should've taken a pic of my freezer at the height of the sale! I think I have 8 pints in my freezer. Don't judge me. Some of my faves: summer corn & blackberries, brown sugar w milk Bordeaux, banana cream w toffee ettes, sea salt cream & cookies and golden state vanilla. I love churros & sprinkle cake - only available here. Haven't brought them home yet but they were part of my flight. I find it interesting, of all the flavors they find strawberry oversaturated, so you can only buy it here or online. I'm not big on chocolate but even w the ss cream & cookies, they're house made cookies and SO good! Despite the name, I didn't realize chocolate w polar bear paws was a chocolate based ice cream, again lol don't judge me. Most chocolate ice creams I've had in the past are hard to get through. Let's just say that pint lasted 2 days once opened. I probably would buy it on a rare occasion but I was surprised with how smooth it is. I brought my friend with me the second time, she got the Bordeaux one after tasting. I tried to tell her it was available at WF, but that's not her usually store so she paid it. Again I'm struggling with the name of the guy that helped us. Kind and patient. Obviously I'll be back when something I'm intrigued by is only here or online. I'm extremely happy that they don't just deliver an epic product, but the service also lives up to it. It's a place I'll happily return.

No smile, nothing. I asked her if I could sample couple of their ice creams, and without saying a word she let me sample two. I went with a medium cup with two small scoops of ice cream, I asked her if she could give me just a little more. Still no answer. It was like talking to myself. For 2 small scoops, price was $10.95. VERY EXPENSIVE! Got Vanilla and some other creamy ice cream (can't remember the name), that had four different types of nuts: pecans, peanuts, walnuts, and almonds. The name wasn't stated on the receipt. The ice cream tasted delicious, creamy, flavorful, great texture and was well balanced. They have small stools inside, and somewhat long tables. They also have this long bench outside for people to sit on. Place was clean, street parking only and gender neutral restroom. The original McConnell's was founded back in 1949 in Santa Barbara. My son and I were there not too long ago and tried the original one in SB. They also have 3 other locations including this one. The vibe just didn't rub me the right way. All employees were somewhat trying their best to be helpful. They also serve sorbet, baked goods (which were empty). I wanted to get a cookie or a muffin. Whatever was left didn't look appealing. They make smoothies, shakes, and sauces. Everything from scratch. Time to make a trip to Freddos.
