Simple but fantastic food. If you want a hamburger or a hot dog, this is where you want to go in this area.

The website does not post that they cook in peanut oil. I have a severe allergy to all tree nuts. When I got to the restaurant, they have posted "cooks with peanut oil" but not on the website. Would have saved me an hour drive. I highly suggest you post on your website and menus that you cook in peanut oil. read more

Ben's Fresh is the perfect local restaurant to come to in the summer, preferably after a long day of hiking, biking, kayaking or other outdoor activity of choice. The place serves all kind of comfort food, including hot dogs, burgers, chicken & waffles, fully-loaded fries, and several kinds of milkshakes. I ordered a burger and a shake, though I can't remember exactly which one, and thought they were both great. The place does take a bit of time for the food to come, but it is 100% worth it. The burger was cooked exactly as ordered and all the fresh accompanying ingredients complimented each other very well. Will definitely come here again, anytime I'm close to the area. read more

We have been getting ice cream at Ben's fresh for quite some time. We recently started getting food from here also. We wish that we had tried the food sooner! The ice cream parfaits are amazing and the food does not disappoint. Very reasonably priced. Some of the staff does seem quite inexperienced. Willing to give some leeway for wait times and chaoticness as I am just glad they are open during such crazy times. Update-I still love the food at this place. It usually never disappoints. But the help......‍ the other night I had to ask where my food was after waiting 40 minutes After she went to check on it, she brings it over (forgot my ice cream). I asked if my food has been sitting out only to be told "yea it's been sitting on the table" ‍ I understand young kids need jobs too but not at the cost to the customers. read more

I got one for ya. Foods good ill give you that. I did ask for 2 double mushrooms and they both only had one patty which was a bummer but food was still tasty. My issue is with the service. I understand they had an hour until close and everyone was probably tired and ready to go home but come on guys, you still had an hour left of service and you're putting up chairs? Way to make costumers feel welcome. A big thing that a lot of restaurants miss is just interacting with their customers. I walked in and an employee walked by and looked at me then kept walking. Thanks for the greeting man. Another employee squeezed his way through some customers like they were an annoyance instead of just saying "excuse me." The staff are great, food is amazing and the best soft serve and hard ice cream I've ever had.

My wife and I stopped here for lunch while visiting Port Jervis. We were absolutely pleased. She got a quesadilla with a side of onion rings, I got chicken fingers and sweet potato fries. All were delicious, not greasy and perfectly cooked. The chicken fingers did not look like prepackaged food, meaning I'd swear they were made fresh. I was disapponted by the soda dispenser which didn't produce the correct flavors. Best of all the staff delivered to our table as we chose to sit outside. I pass this promising place coming and going from the excellent bike trails in this town. All the signs and awards promise "the best burgers in Orange County ". With this in mind, I ordered the burger combo which included a burger with Bennie sauce, lettuce and tomato, plus fresh cut fries. I also had a cup of ice cream. Where's the meat? Heard lots if great things about this place. Ordered 2 ice creams to go only 1 came out. Meanwhile several people behind me who ordered burgers got their order and I am still waiting. I was trying to inquire where my order was... no one would answer. Finally the person who was working the window told me mine was coming yes it did 5 minutes later. Outstanding. The food is very good, although a bit pricey for the area but makes up for it in large portion sizes.

I had lunch here yesterday and really enjoyed it. The burgers were delicious, and like the name says, everything seemed to be fresh. The fries seemed like they make them themselves which is a really cool touch. I treated myself to a chocolate shake to go and it was rich, creamy, and delicious. read more

First of all, the food really is quite delicious but the service is absolutely terrible. I have been here over 5 times and EVERY SINGLE TIME I will wait 30-50 minutes after the wait time from calling. Prepare to spend forever here with no apologies or compensation for your excessive time. Last time I was here and waited for 40 minutes before demanding to know how much longer for the food when they simply brought it out. Im not sure if there's not enough staff or just terrible timing but I am highly disappointed by the customer service every time. Stopped by for a burger while a long way from home. Cheeseburger was very good but the real winner were the fries. Thin sliced, skin on, cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of crispiness. I also like the decor, photographs and mural of New York City scenes, very nice. Stumbled upon this place when my family and I went white water rafting. We each other shakes or ice cream and the bacon mac and cheese fries and chicken tenders. The tenders were delicious! and the fries was a huge serving for only $7! The ice cream and shakes were quite delicious as well. A great place for good food prepared quickly. A good location with ample parking. Formerly a KFC, they must have spent a fortune renovating it. Everything is brand new and sparkling clean. From the picnic benches out front to the bathroom. We got the lunch combos. One burger and one buffalo chicken. Both were excellent and served with a mountain of fries. The fries were cooked to perfection in peanut oil. You can tell they change the oil regularly. Think like Five Guys except a slightly thicker cut. Drinks are from a new Coke Freestyle machine. Ketchup is Heinz and the cups are generous. To top it off the gave me a nice plastic bowl for water for my dog. Now that's service! We didn't get desert but they serve Perry's so you know it's amazing. read more

Came for their One Year Anniversary today. Place is clean and well decorated. The hamburger tasted fine but I like BK a lot too. There are a lot of items on the menu and they have lots of ice cream choices. Not so sure if I would return to try other items. Seems like a place young people and kids would enjoy. read more

My wife has been wanting to eat at Ben's Fresh for awhile, so, I figured we'd try them one day and I ordered a Benny dog. what i got was way different than what was pictured. their picture shows a large hot dog with cheese on a bed of fixings in a roll. what i got instead was a shriveled hot dog buried in a huge bed of vegetables with no cheese. i also ordered fries which are suppsed to be cut and cooked fresh daily instead i get a bag of fries which were cold browned and partially burnt and noticeably fried old frying oil once again nothing close to resembling their picture. my wife suggested giving them another try at another time so i decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and ordered one of their award winning cheeseburgers . this time it seemed like it was just thrown together on a bbq grill by someone who is a weekend griller. i have no idea how on earth this restaurant earned their supposed awards and raving testemonials that they post especially with the prices they charge for the quality of their food. the just recently we decided to take a ride for ice cream. we had come back from a trip and figured once again to go to bens instead of the creamery because it was closer afte rall how can they possibly screw up their award winning ice cream? boy was i in for a treat. i had ordered a large vanilla shake and my wife ordered a concrete peanut butter cup xtreme. after paying 15 dollars and leaving a tip i get my shake with no straw so i ask the cashier who happened to be counting out the contents of the tip jar on the counter for a straw. she looks at me and proceeds to go back to counting the tips. finally a girl walks by and i ask her for a straw and she gets me one. i proceeded to walk towards the car and happened to look at my shake and notice the inside of the lid and cup was filthy with remnants of other foods and the shake was a little over half way from being a large. i walked back in and asked if they can replace my shake with a clean cup and lid. the girl looked at me as if i was ordering a filet mignon. she took the cup opened the lid and proceeded to clean it with a rag used to wipe down the counter. at that point i took it and tossed it into the trash. from now on ill never purchase a thing from them and will not be recommending them to anyone. ill be going to the creamery instead way better product and atmosphere and only two minutes away from bens. read more

I have to say this place has really let things slide. 25 mins. for a single patty burger? It seems like they don't care anymore. barely any social awareness or customer service. no one greets you when you walk i ln anymore. Got a cold stare as I approached the counter to ask for my order. payed and waited 5 more mins. and of course when i received my food.. the fries were cold and the burger lukewarm (only due to the foil wrapper). It seems this like many other businesses are just getting us as customers used to sub-par quality or food and customer service while prices soar. before anyone hands me my head... realize that i understand the pandemic had an impact on staff retention BUT.. 18 months into a pandemic.. your quality and customer service should be spot on when you're raising prices. at this point i'm done supporting both this and Port Jervis Pizza (as they're both owned by the same owners and it seems they're both suffering the same fate) read more

The food did nothing really for me to be honest. The fried chicken they have is chicken breast tenders only. Which are very juicy and well cooked, however I found the seasoning to be non-existant. I can't even remember the side we chose, I do remember nobody liking it though, very bla. The chicken sandwich was tasty, but I thought it was very expensive for what we received that day. That was 3 weeks after they opened. Maybe I will try back and see what has changed since then and give it another shot. read more
