Weekend brunch is always busy but there is waitlist in yelp where you can put your name down prior arriving which worked pretty well! It was quite busy and we had to wait for almost an hour before get seated but I thought it is fine because of the waitlist feature and I can plan for my trip. The rest ambient is cozy and huge and perhaps they are understaff but otherwise no biggie. Staff is very friendly ! The food we ordered coffee but it is too bland so we swapped it to latter with double shot, the latte coffee smell is a bomb , I can smell it with the latte just sitting at the table. We had chicken sausage pesto with mushroom, I would say this is healthy light version of breakfast because it comes with combination of mushroom, shredded sweet potatoes, corn and eggs. The flavor was ok as the pesto is not as strong to carry out the flavor as I expected and it is a bit too oily for me. Now, the hot fried chicken dish is a must try with the Benedict's and crispy potatoes! The hollandaise sauce was on point! Definitely recommend this! And don't forget to try their hot sauce on the table will give you some surprise there :) Last monkey bread with cream and caramel , it was served warm! Not inedible; just not particularly good. My wife's pancakes were fluffy, but bland. I had the Biscuits and Gravy with Scrambled Eggs. First, I'm not a fan of the eggs being plated on top of the Biscuits and Gravy. Then, the gravy was pretty thin, not enough of it, and yup, bland. Even the side of Hash Browns were bland. When I see that the name of the place has "Benedict" - you know I gotta go for their Eggs Benny! And that's where this restaurant truly shines. I've tried several of their Benedict's so far and I've loved them all - the Gravlox, the Crab Oscor, and most recently the Hot Fried Chicken - seriously my favorite! All of them have been amazing and the side of house made potatoes are out - of - this - world good. Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. My husband consistently gets the steak breakfast burrito and it's honestly so. Dang. Good. Its filled with eggs and cheese and plenty of steak - they don't skimp here. And also, cheese sauce. YUM! This last time I visited, I tried something new - the corned beef tot hash. It was a recommendation from the server and it was honestly amazing in every way. The tots were packed and fried and tasted very similar to the house potatoes - but better! The beef was perfectly tender too and I loved having my poached eggs on top. The only thing I would have loved more is to have more tots! There were maybe 4 oversized ones but I loved them so much, it would have been nice to have more. Despite that, this restaurant knows how to make food right consistently, every time. Benedicts is one of a handful of newer establishments in Wayzata. It is very nice that some moderately priced restaurants have been added to the stronghold that Gianni's and Brueggers and Punch have held on this town for so long. Benedicts serves big breakfast/brunch fare. On this trip, I had avocado toast with poached egged and it was very nice. My friend had the classic Benedict. She was also happy. Portions are very large. Service is friendly. The restaurant has both table and counter service. I do like the post-your-name-on-their-waitlist-service that is available on their website. I would imagine for weekend breakfast and brunch that would be helpful. For a weekday lunch the day I was there, it was not necessary. Parking is getting to be a challenge in Wayzata but again, on a mid May weekday at noon, I was able to find street parking. I believe they also have some reserved garage spaces for the establishment. NIce for winter! I would return if in the area. Service is good. Restaurant is clean. Food is good. This won't be a blow-your-mind culinary experience but it will definitely be a nice meal served with care using some fresh ingredients. I returned the Friday after Thanksgiving for a late lunch with my husband and adult kids. We had a hash, the pancake flight, the sautéed vegetables with poached eggs, the classic Benedict and the omelette of the day. All of these dishes were tasty and hit the spot. We then walked around Wayzata and travelled out to the Wayzata docks--the docks brought back lots of great memories although the town is so different with all of the development. I'll chocolate is to pick up American I'll chocolates. Personally the best hot chocolate I have had in USA is Caribou dark hot chocolate no whip cream however this one fits the standard American hot chocolate. Service was good.
