I recently got a brow tint and wax at the brow bar and it was a GAME. CHANGER. I've always been afraid of doing anything hair-removal-related to my brows because I'm very fair with blonde hair and had a "why take hair away when I have so few brow hairs to begin with?" Meanwhile I had serious bold-brow envy (Why can't I just have Khaleesi brows please?). I used a variety of brow products each morning (ka-brow, Anastasia brow pencil, and gimme brow), which looked great but took forever to do. Enter benefit brow bar. I'd taken their recommendations for products before which made me trust them, so I decided to go for it. The brow tint did SO much for me- it wasn't too intense but just made the hairs I didn't know I had show up. I was afraid it would look unnatural, but not at all! In fact I was surprised how much the shape of my "new brows" look like my sister's (who is brunette, blessed with beautiful natural brows). This also was a lot faster than I expected- maybe 5 minutes? The brow wax, on the other hand, wasn't such a good fit for me. It was actually less painful than I thought it was going to be, and they did a great job describing the after-care and covering up the redness. But I broke out a bunch and had a lot of irritation afterwards (but my skin is very sensitive, so this wasn't totally unexpected). I'll probably skip this in the future. Note, the brow bar is located near the front of the store, so if you're weirded out by getting your brows done NOT in the salon area/in front of random shoppers, this might not be for you (or you might want to book your appointment during a low-traffic time). I was tired of playing Russian roulette with my brows at my local nail salon. At times I would get two beautiful brows, others I would get one perfect and the other looking a bit off or just all together not good. I decided to give the brow bar at ulta a try and boy am I glad I did! They do brow mapping where they follow your natural brow and draw on the shape it should have. After your approval they gently wax. They've always offered to conceal, fill in and set my brows after. And I get free benefit samples!! At a $21 price tag plus tip it's not cheap by any means, but to me it's worth it since I always come out happy with my brows! read more

I visited Kristen today at the Brow Bar, on the heels of a visit that had left me feeling...eh, about Ulta. However, the service I received today was stellar and far more consultative in approach - she listened to what I needed, shaped my brows beautifully and answered all of my questions. I picked up the amazing Gimme Brow product from her, and I am officially in her "Brow Rehab" program for my overzealous plucking. Clean store, lots of bars/stations and great displays. I went in to the Benefit Brow Bar in Winter Park with very low expectations. I have very sparse brows (one especially). I am losing my brows due to a medical condition, and I have been seriously considering permanent makeup. I thought I'd just give the brow bar a try, because I had just about nothing to lose. Francis suggested tinting and tweezing (yes, tweezing). I was so scared of tweezing, because I don't have enough brow as it is; however, tweezing all the baby hair away from the areas around the brows (or would-be brows) made the brow area stand out better. Plus, the tint stuck to a lot of the fine baby hairs in the brow area, enhancing the brows. I still have to fill in parts of one of my brows with pomade or powder or gel, but it's so easy now, because there's such a clearly defined area. Thank you, Francis. I am so happy. Incidentally, she also applied the Benefit Gimme Brow. I wasn't so happy with it. I found it dark and overpowering for my fair complexion and blonde hair. I will stick with my much more affordable Nyx pomade and powder. Thank you. read more
