We went to celebrate both our daughter's and son's birthdays because they are only a day apart. Our Chef George was EXCELLENT!! We were the only ones at our table since we went in at 4 pm before the normal dinner dining time. George was so entertaining, funny and professional. He actually took his time to ensure our food was prepared very well. We will ask for him again. We didn't appreciate that his boss was standing by and scowling at him- most likely for not rushing through ( it was starting to get busier) There was no birthday special presentation for our children as we observed for other patrons before us. So that was a bit of a disappointment. Our dinner for 4 consisted of sushi, sake dinner and dessert. Over $400 later we felt the pressure to leave as there was a lady standing behind our table hovering.. and our server rushed to give us boxes for our food and ring our check. Loved the show and food, but the feeling we were being rushed was not comfortable. Again!! We loved our Chef! Please ask for George if you go. He was great!! Terrible! Reserved for Christmas- arrived and the hostess didn't acknowledge us for several minutes. When she finally did she said "I'm gonna hit you with some bad news - we've got the hour mark for wait." Confused we asked "What? Then what is the point of the reservation?" She turned away and wouldn't even talk to us as though we were throwing a fit. it was incredibly packed and with rudeness like that we left and went elsewhere. I went back a few weeks ago with some friends and if you can believe it, the experience was even worse than the last time I went. I was really hoping that things would be better, but after this time, I will never return. You would think with its name and reputation on the line that they would ensure good chefs across the board. Instead it's a gamble when you go, and if you're lucky, you'll HOPEFULLY get someone who can actually cook a decent meal. We went there blowing off about $30 per person, only to leave incredibly disappointed. It's all show and no go. I wouldnt pay over 80 bucks for a crappy dinner here ever again. Poor service, the chef or whatever he is actually tossed a piece of shrimp at me and then said it was my fault. We had a good time, but Benihana's sure isn't like it used to be. Seems like most restaurants these days have forgotten how to give EXCELLENT service along with EXCELLENT food! With Benihana's you expect the floor show as well that made them famous. Now it is a bunch of old worn out jokes from a book, and the person rambles on and on instead of doing the fun stuff. The chef is no longer Japanese. I remember when it looked like the food was flying in the air as part of the act. Miso soup now isn't even offered anymore, just onion mushroom. The waitress never comes back to see if you would like to see if you would like anything else to drink? We had to hunt her down to get another cup of tea for my mother and my friend, because they didn't get one with their dinner, when it said it on the menu. We had to ask for a Soy Sauce dispenser to be placed on the table. We had to ask four different times for the little cups with the lids for the sauces to go, when we packed up our leftover food. Years ago, it was the wait staff's job to pack up the food in the 'To Go' boxes for you. That was part of the "SERVICE" that they received the TIPS for! Guess they forgot that along the years. These days they just throw the boxes at you then you have to ask them for a bag also, then wait for them to bring that too. Now you are lucky if you get a smile and thank you for coming at the end. Oh, and it was by Birthday Celebration, and they were supposed to ask for my phone number to pull up the $30 discount, but they didn't do that either! I first went to Benihana 2 years ago to celebrate my birthday and we had an amazing time. The chef had awesome hibachi and entertainment skills and you can tell he had really trained and mastered the craft of being a hibachi chef. This time though, it was very different. The place was super packed on a Monday, which was good for the restaurant's business. However, I wonder if some of the chef training had to be cut down due to an increase in the number of customers and an increase in demand for chefs? It seemed like the entertainment level and even the level of cooking skills went down in order to serve a larger crowd. It's the case of quantity over quality. Maybe I just went on an off day because the entertainment was very basic that day and the cooking was so-so at best. Also, my food was heavily seasoned to the point I had to cringe. It was somewhat of a disappointment this time around. Based on that experience, I would pass. On the plus side, my waitress was very attentive and helpful. She made the evening go by pretty smoothly. I grew up going to Benihana for special occasions like birthdays and graduations. Luckily we had one in my hometown. I still think it belongs in the "once-in-a-blue-moon category" because you don't really know what you're going to get. Make a reservation, go in with an open mentality, and ultimately you'll have a good time. Once you sit at their signature teppanyaki tables, you come to realization you need a hibachi grill inside your house. I mean, you can cook practically anything on it! And as someone who used to work the line, specifically a hibachi grill, it brings back good memories. Alright, I think everyone has the same qualm. Why are the prices so high? Part of me understands it, because it's really a fun unique experience. Where else can you receive an interactive cooking experience? I mean, they're cooking directly in front of you and feeding you simultaneously! Fresh fried rice, c'mon now you know it's great! We had a charismatic chef during our dinner, however the rest of the experience was a mixed bag. Servers were all over the place, forgetting drink orders and sauces and any requests we had. It had been a while since I'd been to Benihana (like 10 years) and it would've been nice if there was a refresher course from the staff. Get your fried rice, order the steak, chicken and shrimp combo, have a beverage to cool down from the heat of the grills (seriously, it gets warm) and enjoy the show. I love Benihana's and love the food, but I am definitely gonna have to think twice about coming back. Benihana is no joke. They've got an expansive menu, but no vegan options (without modifications) aside from a few appetizers. Sydney, our server, was very accommodating and the chef executed the order to perfection. He put on a good show too, as expected. It's a fancy place but you can comfortably dress casual. This was the worst experience I have ever had in Mother's Day! It took 2 hours before we got seated and I had a reservation on open table for 8:45! We finally got hot food at 10:43pm. My daughter left because my 2 year old grandson was very hungry and my son was so mad at me that I advocated for myself he almost left! I hate this place it sucks! read more

My son wanted Benihana take out tonight so I thought we'd try it out. He ordered the Steak hibachi and rice and we added on $5 of grilled shrimp, which came to $25. I couldn't believe my eyes when I went in to pick it up, there were literally four or five tiny pieces of steak and four or five little cut up pieces of shrimp, nowhere near a portion for one person let alone the 2 people portion that it was billed as being. It was 95% rice, I kid you not. I asked a server if it was a mistake and he told me that Benihana cook's measure out the portions very carefully, and that it was no mistake. My husband and I are consistent customers at this restaurant, we literally go 2 to 3 times a month, and have spent over $300.00 monthly there. I made 2 reservations and was told that I'm on the "DO NOT SERVE" or reserve list?!! WHY?????????? Let me explain, the last time my husband and I visited this location an employee took 3 credit cards with 3 receipts took them all to the credit card machine and mixed everyone's bills up. So I ask for a manager the manager that came was an out of shape Korean guy that immediately took offense to what I was explaining to him, without understanding the importance of training your employees to watch what they're doing and take their time. Instead he decides to ban me from eating at this restaurant never had 1 issue at this restaurant as a matter of fact the employees and other managers know my husband and I. my husband and I eat there so much the employees greet us and called us VIP. I made a reservation tonight April 28, 2023 not even knowing that I was banned from this restaurant, why?? for requesting that the manager train his employees to do better and not over charge/ under charge their customers. I'll take it that he was embarrassed so he decided to teach me a lesson by banned me from the restaurant why because my credit card was OVER charged and I wanted to inform the manager of the situation? Is that really fair to a consistent customer who literally spends $600.00 a month and the front desk is calling you VIP? Is this really fair?!! I enjoy good customer service and pay GOOD money so if there is an issue as a consistent customer at this location aren't I allowed to address my concerns?. DONT YOU WANT TO KNOW? I would like to speak with someone in corporate regarding this issue I can also bring ALL of my receipts for 2022 as proof of my loyalty to this location? Because I have them all. so you understand why I'm so upset and embarrassed that I have been turned away for because this particular manager was embarrassed and decided to remove me as a customer?? Yes, it's a Saturday night and we did not have a reservation and waited patiently for about 40 minutes only to be rudely told the table was no longer available. The host was not particularly friendly and could have handled the situation differently. We won't return anytime soon read more

Disclaimer- I don't like the performance part of hibachi, which is why I eat hibachi express, so I'm only rating the food. I ordered the lobster, steak and shrimp dinner with fried rice. The steak was buttery and delicious. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and even better dipped in the sauces. I didn't care for the lobster and wouldn't order it again. It just tasted off to me. The fried rice was pretty good. If I go again, I'd probably just have steak and fried rice. The place was packed but that had no impact on service, because I never had an empty glass. read more

Worst experience. Wife loves Benihana and we went to celebrate for Friday afternoon lunch. We ordered the food and beverages and the Chef came out and was great to watch cook. He served everybody but me and I asked him to check with the waitress and see where mine was. I ordered the Lunch Boat w/shrimp. The waitress came by after five minutes (everybody else was eating but my wife was holding out for mine to arrive) and told me it would be up in TWO minutes. 15 minutes later no meal and no explanation. I asked to talk to the manager who was really trying to help but could not get the meal out. She later informed me that the waitress did not put my meal in. I then was not gonna wait any longer. Then the meal showed up 20-25 mins after everybody else was done eating. I told them to box it up. The waitress came by with the bill and and got indignant that would not leave a tip. This was the first time ever I have not left a tip. The Manager gave me a card of the General Manager and said I should call her. I called and the people would not get the GM on the line and I was handed off to a Cust. Support guy. It did not go well and he lied about what they already did and was upset that I called him out on this. I literally had the receipts in front of me. Basically told me to go leave a bad review if that is what I wanted to do. Travis this review is for you and Lauren (waitress). Bad service and I had to listen to a waitress get mad because I refused to tip for a meal that came out 20 mins after everybody else was done. My experience at Benihana was phenomenal! It was a first date, but we kept telling everyone we were celebrating our divorce so no one looked at us uncomfortably. Our reservation was for 9:45, but we were able to be seated by 9:00. They have a bunch of tables and chairs, separate from the cooking station, to hangout while you wait. The hosts are super friendly and pretty cool, calm, and collected given how busy it was on a Tuesday night. Since we were a party of two, and there was another party of two. They had us at the same cooking station, but just at opposite ends of the table. I'm loving this social distancing thing! Let discuss staff: Our waitress, Angel, was a gem! She was the sweetest, most informative waitress I've ever met in my life. We were able to laugh with her, she was extremely attentive, and an all around great host. Our chef George, was just as amazing! He loved making us laugh and knows how to keep our attention. You could tell he loved his job. At the end of the day, the chefs are entertainers. If the crowd is able to keep their energy up, they performers will to. So that's exactly what we did. George and Angel asked us to come back and ask for them again, which we definitely will do! You guys are the best! So why am I giving this place 4 stars instead of 5? My chicken and rice were slightly overcooked, but the flavour is definitely there and it was still delicious. This particular Benihana seems festive on a Friday night. Some groups were celebrating birthdays. I'm here because a relative really wanted to come. I've only had takeout from Benihana back home in Los Angeles. I noticed it's pretty loud in here with no music playing, which makes sense on a Friday night. The food: I ordered the Splash and Meadow which is steak and large shrimp. How did dinner go? The chef was great. He was a tall young African American named Jordyn. Very personable and had excellent showmanship as he cooked rice, veggies, steak and shrimp. Food was good, especially the chicken fried rice. I was very excited to experience Benihana's after not having it for over 5 years sadly I remember the reason why I decided not to visit. I was in Denver For the weekend on a girls trip and we had reservations at 8:30 pm. Our chef did not even begin to start cooking for us until 10:15 and it was a table of 11. Our drinks and appetizers came out very late and we didn't end up leaving until almost 12:00 am! The waitress was working alone and I would assume with a party as large as ours there could have been a mim of at least 2 waiters. Our water was not filled and we had to constantly remind our waitress that we needed refills. At the end the checks all 11 were completely messed up and we had to end up doing our checks to make sure that they were right before we paid. I'm going to give Benhina one more chance before I decide not to visit them ever again . The drink I did have was the Benihana punch and it was actually pretty good but 25 min after ordering it I had to let the waiter know that I ordered a drink. read more

Came here to celebrate Mother's Day with family. The smell of the restaurant even pulling into the parking lot is amazing. We had Madilyn as our server and she was hustling all over the restaurant bringing guests drinks and taking orders. She was amazing and made sure we always had whatever we needed, whether it be a refill of water, some yum yum sauce, or ice cream and a check. Our table was in and out in record time! Our chef, Jesus, was fantastic as well. He's obviously been doing this for awhile and was having fun with the table and keeping us entertained. The woman who we sat with said her reservation was at seven and still she wasn't sat till 8:15. It was her birthday and she had unpleasant experience as well. First impression as walking in the door was a imitation swat gaurd posted up on a chair. Put our name down, was told we'd be text in half an hour, 50 mins later I asked if there was a table available and was told just another 15 mins. Sat at 8:15, while waiting I used the restroom and boy was it sticky, stinky and shitty, literal shit and piss on the toilets. Paper all over the floor and only freezing water to wash your hands with, not an ounce of warm water, speaking of temperature it was cold inside, everyone had their jackets on was not comfortable temp at all. This place is Grimy, carpets, floor boards, walls all nasty. Makes me wonder, if i can see how unkempt the space where patrons can see what does your kitchen look like where patrons aren't allowed. Benihana you NEED to do a deep cleaning, bring in a cleaning crew in the nights and polish your dirty ass up. I know you can afford it. To matt our server, thank you for making a crappy experience, better. The food was overall good, a step above panda express. The waitstaff was a joke, the manager didn't manage much. We arrived at 5:20 for a 5:30 reservation for 9 (1full table) we were sat at 5:55. I helped my elderly father to the restroom, to find the most disgusting restroom I think I've ever seen, the floor in the entire facility has not be cleaned in years. The toilet seat was barely attached to the toilet. The toilet paper dispenser can hardly even be reached from the toilet. Pee all over the floor, the handicapped door doesn't even latch! Upon returning I ordered a bottle of house sake, 15 minutes later she returned to tell me they were out of sake. I asked if they had any she said" I bring you some" another 15 mins and she does. So now it's about 6:45 and we are ready to order. She asked each of us if we wanted chicken fried rice with our meals, which all of us did ( never did they say it was extra) our soup comes out. (Good) Then salad(good) the girl then comes out with a tray of forks and says " anyone who can't use chopsticks can take a fork but we only have 4." I'm only 38 but I have never heard of a restaurant running out of forks, until now. Then my sister tells us the waitress poured water into her soda glass. Smh. Then the bill $414 6 adults , 1 that didn't eat, three toddlers That's roughly 52$ a piece. Outrageous. We then notice they had the sake on the bill that I never got. Which they then took off. We paid and asked to speak with the manager. We also asked for a copy of the receipt. Waited 10 mins, no receipt and no manager. We got up and saw our waitress eating in the bar. We asked if we could please get a recipt and the manager, she said there's only one machine to print receipts and there was a line , and she didn't know where the manager was. The armed security guard heard us ask for the manager and offered to help. A few minutes later the manager came up to us and we voiced all of our concerns. He actually said" the toilet seat is usually attached", and he would like to give us some gift cards for next time. We said okay. Then he disappeared again. Finally at 8:15 he hands me 2 $20 gift cards. I gave them to a couple that was waiting for a table. After nearly 40 years of coming here I can honestly say we will never come back. I had to learn and see it was delicious. My filet mignon was tender cooked to perfection. My son got the New York strip and the shrimp. It was amazing. My wife got the salmon I watching. Had a fantastic experience at Benihana the last couple times I've been here! I've lived in the neighborhood for a decade and it hasn't really been on my radar til recently. Sitting at the bar offers a different Benihana experience and they have some wonderful specials. The bartenders are always on point, especially Kayla! She was very accommodating and funny and prompt and friendly, and to watch her at work multi tasking is quite impressive!! We ordered the emperors feast and land n sea hibachi. Our waitress asked "chicken fried rice okay?" We said yes because thats what we thought came with it. Food comes out and i asked for yum yum sauce and got told they were out. Food was very peppery and vegetables were barely sautéed. Shrimp was very overcooked. Then we had to ask for our ice cream while she was having us pay. I wanted chocolate and she comes back with vanilla with chocolate syrup cause the chocolate was hard to scoop. Positively THE best experience we have ever had at this location was tonight 6/21/23. It was perfect in every way. The host (a male) was so professional and friendly right from the get go. Our waitress was perfect (Angel): attentive, outstanding personality and most of all she was ANTICIPATORY! She wowed us right from the start and to the very end of the evening. Last but certainly not least was Welton our brilliant and gifted chef. He's leaps and bounds the best we have ever had at Benihana. The steak was cooked to perfection, as was the shrimp and the chicken. Delicious! The chicken fried rice was just buttery enough without being too heavy like it often is from past experiences.
