Lemon drop martini

We decided to check out the new Mt Fuji Sushi & Hibachi in Centennial this weekend. It's been in construction for SO long in Southglenn, we had to see what the fuss was all about once it finally opened - we were not disappointed in the ambiance and food. I could drink the salad dressing, I definitely asked for a side with veggies and meat and was served a gallon I think a few kinks need to be worked out - the young girls at receptionist desk were rude to each other in front of us (name calling/cussing in front of children), some of our dishes/wrappers weren't taken away during the meal at all, just a few small things like that. Food was delicious and affordable. We'll give it another shot see how they handled the receptionist issue. It was NOT a good start, we almost walked out before being seated to be honest. The girls were arguing like sisters in front of us, so maybe they're daughters of the owner or manager? They should be fired if not, otherwise trained and grounded if I'm being blunt.

Waiting for our table.

Things started off badly. We walked in to the receptionist and there was barely room to stand. This is not all the restaurant's fault; it was below 20F and breezy outside, so no one was going to wait out there or in the freezing foyer. Found out later that around 15 of the people were in one group. We were basically ignored by the girl behind the desk for 15 minutes. There was another couple in front of us who had been waiting for 30 minutes. After another 10 minutes they left, leaving us first in line. 20 minutes past our reservation time, we really started to complain to any employee we could find. The receptionist finally tried to tell us something, but her English was so poor we did not understand her. We SAW the manger but couldn't get close enough to talk to her. Once the party of 15 was seated there was some breathing room. Suddenly 3 people got up from the table closest to us and left, one saying to us "Good Luck". I walked over to those chairs and said we would take them. The first party at the table (you know how hibachi is), told us they had been waiting for an hour for something after their soups and salads, and that is why the other group left in a huff. Once we were seated the manager cleaned up the area and got a waitress right away - guess maybe she heard we were ticked off. I was glad we were able to help the other people at the table finally get some attention! I guess they had already ordered long ago, and so the waitress rushed us to order without giving us any time to look at the menu. She also pushed the fried rice pretty heavily; I had to strongly insist I only wanted steamed rice. Found out when the bill came that each fried rice was almost $6, so that explained that. Our soup, salad and sake came out quickly. Not long after the chef came and he was a very pleasant individual. But his "hibachi entertainment skills" were limited and his serving was pretty sloppy. Granted, he was now rushing to accommodate the other poor folks. The food. I ordered the vegetable hibachi, my wife the shrimp, and my grandson the steak and shrimp. They said theirs was very good. First, they gave me a huge helping of fried rice from the common pile. I did taste it, and it was fine. Then, they gave me vegetables from the common pile, the same amount as everyone else who had ordered a protein received. I had to complain to the chef that I should have steamed rice, and he quickly flagged down a waitress and I finally got that. But no more vegetables for me as those around me got their "second course" of protein. I was waiting for the chef to cook me some more veggies when he started cleaning the table! I don't eat that much so I wasn't overly concerned, but when the chef gave me a puzzled look, I said I was supposed to have vegetable hibachi. He asked if I wanted more vegetables. I said sure, and after a while a steaming bowl arrived, apparently cooked at another table. The vegetables were VERY zucchini-heavy, with a little broccoli and a fair amount of mushrooms. It was fine. We were not offered desert, and basically given the bums rush to get out of there. Like I said, not ever issue was the actual fault of the place - the cold caused reception-area problems, and once we sat I noticed that the one party was occupying an entire table, and a different party was occupying TWO entire tables, and they seemed to have come in at almost the same time. There was at most 12 tables in there, because it was poorly laid out. There was a giant television (nice one!) but it had a huge amount of empty, wasted space in front of it. There was a long section of booths by the windows, left over from the room's last incarnation, where I guess people could just order sushi or tempura - but none of them were occupied. If I want sushi I will go to a sushi place. We go to Japanese grills for the grilling! My major complaint is the management/staff response to the issues. The receptionist seemed to just shut down when things became overwhelming, and they should never have reserved three complete tables at the same time. Or, alternatively, should have better managed the reservations for all the parties of 3-5 (us). I really don't know why the families at the table with us had to wait for an hour for a chef to show up, except they were kind and nice. And by that point, we were not. Finally, when my check came back with the charge slip, it also included the charge slip for someone else. Our bill was correct, so I paid and tried to get a waitress/manager's attention to give them the other person's bill, but to no avail. I finally gave up and left it on the table. So, lots of little issues made the whole evening a lot less fun than it should have been. Entire time from butts-in-chair to walking out the door was maybe 40 minutes, to be generous, though wait time was closer to 30.

Tuna & Steak

Mt Fuji is a great Hibachi restaurant that is reasonably priced for Hibachi. Our chef and server were very friendly and seemed like he enjoyed their jobs. The place is very clean and modern. All of the food was quite good but I do recommend upgrading the steak to fillet mignon. Overall, I definitely recommend for a fun dinner out!

Tons of food!

For my granddaughter's birthday I decided to take her to Mt. Fuji in Centennial as she enjoys hibachi. It was myself, my daughter, one of my grandsons, and of course, the birthday girl. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice and the hibachi chef put on a great performance. Every staff person we encountered were all very nice, and the all sang happy birthday to her and made her smile and feel special. The food was excellent as well. While not a place I would come to often as it's pretty expensive, for a special occasion I highly recommend it!

A great evening and a terrific show by AJ who serenaded the birthday girl at our table. We ordered drinks from the bar, sushi, and hibachi and it was all great value for money, tasty, and made quickly. The place is brand new and the renovation really makes the space shine. Lots of hibachi tables and booths so seating is plentiful. Service was quick and the hibachi dinner gives you so much food we took home multiple boxes. Awesome addition to southglenn and a fun date night.

Deceptive, fraudish business practice.

Deceptive, fraudish business practice. We ate lunch here yesterday on 6/20/2026. When my husband ordered Tonkatsu, he was told that this menu comes with either white rice or fried rice. At this time we were never told that there would be a surcharge for fried rice. When our waitress (who was pleasant and delivered an attentive, excellent customer service and we have no problem with her) asked me to check if the numbers were all correct on the payment device, I am fairly certain that this surcharge of whopping $2.95 for merely choosing fried rice did NOT display on the payment device. However, when I checked the receipt at home later, I found that this place sneakily and deceptively sneaked in this stupid surcharge behind my back. What kind of Asian restaurant imposes a surcharge for merely choosing fried rice amongst the given options of white or fried rice and even whopping $2.95 at that?! I'm so upset and deeply offended by this shady deception more than anything else. The kind of restaurant that practices this type of dishonest and deceptive business operation will not last long. SHAME ON YOU. You sold your business integrity for mere $2.95.

Coupon not honored

Not impressed with our first visit on Friday evening. We inquired about happy hour as it was before 5pm. and were told they only have happy hour on Monday and Tuesday. And also the coupon we had was a mistake and the offer was also only good on Monday/ Tuesday. I looked at the offer I received in the mail- perhaps I missed something. Anyway in the end they end up accepting the promotional offer. But, it soured the whole experience. They caused us undue stress and embarrassment arguing in front of other guests seated with us. The food was typical and the hibachi chef was entertaining. But, again why not honor the offer you send out, instead of creating hostility and turning what should have been a seriously great date night into a very unpleasant experience.

A Hibachi table

Had a great all you can eat lunch for $24.95 - the servers couldn't have been nicer. The food is freshly made - there's so many options! There's also the Hibachi grills and Bento boxes. We're going back to work our way through the menu! . The restroom is clean and nice too!

The assorted nigiri pieces came out prettier than most other sushi spots, they definitely brushed it to make it look pretty, and that's setting the bar higher where it should be! I recommend planning ahead with a reservation, as they can get busy during a dinner rush. We were visiting Colorado for a quick weekend trip and were floored by the food here. While the rolls all sounded great, we opted for an omakase experience. It is priced at market value, so I imagine this could vary over time, but they had three tiers for omakase, which I thought were all fairly priced for the amount of food included. We opted for the highest tier, which was $120 pp, and it was incredibly filling with high quality cuts of fish and a thoughtfully curated menu. The sushi chef who took care of us was incredibly kind, and it was clear he put a lot of care into the food he prepared. If you're on the fence, hop off and make that reservation and come hungry for the omakase experience!

The freshest fish in Centennial!…read more My husband and I were looking to try a new sushi spot not too far away from our house and when we saw how highly rated Taku was we knew we had to give it a shot. When you walk in you immediately feel how cozy and beautifully decorated the restaurant is. Refined and relaxed at the same time. The staff are so friendly and pleasant and they were so cheerful and helpful! We started with the "monkey brain" and the sashimi ceviche. I would say the sashimi ceviche would be all you need to order - incredible quality fish. The rolls we ordered were the Taku signature roll and black dragon. Black dragon was our favorite. We made reservations and arrived a little early to a packed restaurant. No surprise considering it was a Friday night, but reminding staff of our reservation created a little bit of a wait for our party of 10. Once we were seated, a nice, young server came to us to take our drink order. Some opted for cocktails, others for soda, some just sipped on water. The selection of sushi rolls, hand rolls, soups, salads and appetizers is outstandingly huge. I was tasked with ordering for the group, so I rattled off 20 ish rolls that seemed good to everyone's liking. Seaweed and Kani salads made their way around the table, along with crispy tuna rice and tempura veggies - a great way to start! YUM! Then....the largest sushi boat I have ever sailed our way - filled to the brim with our rolls and displayed in the most fun and creative way!! I captured a video of the magic and 2.3 million people on TikTok seemed to like it as much as we did! The sushi was fresh, delicious and totally hit the spot. I overordered for our group (some ordered their own entrees) so we left with many to-go boxes for next day's enjoyment! Pricing is on point and reasonable for the quality and freshness of the fish. Our bill for all of us with everything was under $400 which was shocking to me! I will take off 1 star for service. I know our party was huge, requested a large amount of food and drinks, but service lacked. A space for us wasn't ready upon arrival (creating a wait/rush to push tables together for our party), our waters were never refilled, extra plates never cleared, cocktails/beer forgotten (which we didn't end up paying for considering we didn't get it), and the entire experience left us kind of disappointed - but willing to give the place another shot. Having worked in food service, I understand the issues associated with larger parties and the pressure it creates, so I'd come back - and especially for to-go orders! yum!

Please note that I tried things that other people have mentioned in their reviews as things they liked. I had the crunchy tuna appetizer, which was essentially several golf ball sized lumps of rice deep fried, with a tiny amount of tuna and I think avocado on top. It probably should have been called the crunchy rice appetizer, and really was not, to me, worth $14. Next up was the Joker roll, which I believe is mentioned by more than one person as their favorite thing here. If you like pepper, it's the roll for you. I have never had such a peppery sushi roll in my life and I did not like it. My final roll was the mango roll. Now I know what mangoes are and I knew what I was getting, so I can't really blame the restaurant for the fact that I guess I've learned I'm not a big fan of sushi rolls with fruit on them. It was well made for what it was, just not my particular favorite. The miso soup was lovely. The restaurant was nice and clean and as I have said, the service was impeccable, friendly, really everything you would want. Which is all the more reason I was disappointed that the food did not ring a bell with me. If you go to this restaurant, I would suggest you avoid the things I've mentioned and perhaps try some others. You may have better luck than I did, and you will be served well in the process.
