Here I am, writing this at 11pm (they close at 10pm). Nobody caring that I have to be awake in 6 hours for work. My whole table had reservations for 845pm and 9pm and we were seated at 950pm. Yet, we were not the last table seated. The food was average, they forgot a lot of what we ordered including sauces and they kept having to go get more for us. There wasn't even enough rice to go around. This place absolutely sucks. My rice had barely any soy sauce and my steak was flavorless. Could I have had a worse meal? Probably not. The chef was super entertaining and made the whole experience really fun -- lots of jokes and cool knife tricks. I got the steak and shrimp, and both were delicious. Everything was fresh and cooked just right. Only reason it's not 5 stars is because we had to wait a bit even though we had a reservation, and service was kind of slow between courses. Service was excellent, however, food quality has been significantly reduced. We ordered fillets and shrimp/scallops and the meat was tougher than an old boot. The chef admitted they are not allowed to cut their own steaks anymore and all the meat comes in frozen. Benihana's was sold a year ago to (STKS stock symbol). look at their chart and they'll be out of business within a couple years. Terrible combination to increase prices and lower food quality. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. We made reservations on Mother's Day, a month in advance. Show up for our 5:30pm reservation and it's absolutely packed. Myself and 10 of my friends came here to celebrate a few birthdays. We had a reservation at 7:30, showed up a little early, and were not seated until past 8. We were not compted anything or really even an apology for being so late. Once the food got started, it was timed pretty well between "courses." Some of the veggies and rice were way too salty or pepper to eat but overall the food was good, what you expect for hibachi. We asked for yum yum sauce right when we showed up and didn't get it until decent way into meal. Our chef had to also ask the waitress. Our chef, spencer, was awesome!! He was super engaged with us and made it an enjoyable experience. Overall, I would opt to a more local hibachi experience than Benihana. read more

Beni hana is one of my favorite chain restaurants in the US. I can honestly say I go to a beni hana, somewhere, every week. This location is one of m favorites. It's clean, the food is on point, and the staff is always great. Some people, Espically tourists, say "I'm on vacation I don't want to go to a chain".... I think a bit different. If the food is good and the service rocks, why wouldn't you? The one the about beni hana in general is the consistency. You can go to a location in Vegas, Orlando, and Denver and you will have the same experience and the food will be equally delicious. Highly recommend this place! read more

From the time I spoke to a manager as I had a party larger than the 10 OpenTable restricts you to ... finally confirmed for 18 ppl using 2 different reservations where he promised we would have 2 seating areas next to each other. Flash forward to the arrival. 1) was not told the entire party needed to be there to be seated. Ok. Np. 2) 5 minutes into our reservation time called me to threaten giving our tables away (we were waiting for 2 ppl) (no common sense ... willing to give up the bill for 16 ppl when 2 ppl could join in 15. 3) we did end up getting seated ... place was so loud you couldn't hear the special and the lady presenting them was yelling. 4) lady comes to take our drink order ... screwed up several of them...and they took 20 mins to come out. 5) half of our party had their drinks soup and salad before the other half even received drinks. 6) the half with their appetizers literally had their meals started before the other half had drinks. 6) told them one person was vegan they offered to make her food first which was very nice ... but then slathered butter all over her food as they prepared it. Had to start over. Sigh. 7) finally received our food ... lack lustre to say the least ... even those that ordered the waygu steak said it was so gummy they had to spit out every bite. Yikes! Thk u for taking that off the bill! 8) it took 45 minutes to get water refilled. When we finally asked our food preparer where our waitress had disappeared to so we could ask for some wasabi for our sushi or water ... anything ... he very quickly apologized and said it was a management issue that at the end of the night there is usually a melt down on service. Mind you ... it wasn't the end of the night when we started ... our reservation was for 7:30p ... it was literally after 10:30pm before both tables were served. One of the table were served and had eaten and then watched our food being prepared. They were ready to leave but had to wait for us! 9) we let them know upfront that there would be separate bills. They said NO prob we will handle it at the end. It took over 30 mins to straighten out the bills!!! Most of our party if parents hadn't been there would have just wanted to walk out ... it was just a hot mess! The frustration and exhaustion by the end of the meal was unreal. That was a lot ... but nothing compared to what we experienced. Parties over 10 ... this is not the spot for you!! Trust me!!! read more

We placed a delivery order that included 5 orders of onion soup, priced at $8.00 each. We received 5 VERY small soups, much smaller than we normally receive (we order from them a lot). I called to complain and was told that 8 oz was the correct size for the soup, but that occasionally they use a larger container. We have never received the small containers before. I measured one container and found that there was 6 oz of liquid. The person I spoke to said the other 2 oz is the mushrooms and onions. I checked their website and cannot find anywhere where they display the size of the soup. $8.00 for 6 oz of soup and a small cup of mushrooms and onions is ridiculous. Even more ridiculous is that they would occasionally send more soup! They have excellent food and we understand we are going to spend more for it, but this really feels like extortion. At a minimum, they should advertise the portion size for the soup. Pricing the soup more reasonably would also be appreciated. We are regular customers, both in store and via delivery. I am not going to say we'll never patronize your restaurant again, but it will definitely not be as often. Unrelated, but another complaint. When I called to complain, I got put into two different AI queues that I had to navigate before I was able to talk to an actual person about the issue. The bots were beyond useless. I am a Benihana consumer, I have been to many locations such as Chicago, Little Rock, Arkansas, Minnesota, Tennessee and now Denver. Unfortunately, I live in a state that does not have a Benihana so I travel. I like to go to the Benihana locations throughout the United States. I would have to say this would be my least favorite.. way too much salt and pepper all over the food which was overwhelming and ruin the taste of the food. I love the fried rice but so much butter that the rice was dripping. I did ask for my meal to be remade and even though I ordered a double fried rice I received one small white rice. Now for the Yum Yum sauce it's not something that they advertise or have on the chefs cart. You have to actually ask and they bring it from the back, but it does not taste the same, which is my favorite part.. the waiter accidentally spilled the soup on my back. And for all the trouble ended up still paying full price. My replacement meal was not as much food as I originally ordered. I will most likely never come back to this location. This is the second time I've been to the Denver location in both my experience experiences were less than desirable. I will say that the staff is very friendly as well as the manager, and they did try by remaking my meal. However, it probably won't be as good since they replaced my double fried rice with one white rice. read more

Good franchise, I would say it's the goat of hibachi restaurant but it was the first of its kind plus they're all similar. Benihana is more expensive then the hibachi's were I live, mainly Chi Tung and New Star. What separates the hibachi near me and Benihana is the chicken fried rice and the garlic noodles. Benihana's rice and noodles aren't as good but the proteins and veggies are on par. Overall I enjoyed the place while visiting Denver. read more

My friend and I came for a galentine's dinner. We had 7:15 reservations on a Tuesday night. We thought that we'd arrive and easily nab 2 seats. Unfortunately it was packed! We had to park in the nearby shopping center because the parking lot was completely full. The host desk is directly in front of the door so it was cramped to walk in and packed solid to the women's bathroom. Unfortunately they don't have buzzers or texts to let you know when your table is ready and they weren't able to seat us at our reserved time. However the ladies at the host station were very nice and offered to let us stand outside and came out to let us know our table was ready. The chef put on a great show and the food was as expected. We didn't appreciate that his boss was standing by and scowling at him- most likely for not rushing through ( it was starting to get busier) There was no birthday special presentation for our children as we observed for other patrons before us. So that was a bit of a disappointment. Our dinner for 4 consisted of sushi, sake dinner and dessert. Over $400 later we felt the pressure to leave as there was a lady standing behind our table hovering.. and our server rushed to give us boxes for our food and ring our check. Loved the show and food, but the feeling we were being rushed was not comfortable. Again!! We loved our Chef! Please ask for George if you go. He was great!!
