This is our favorite steakhouse in the area and we always enjoy ourselves here. The staff is fantastic every time and this visit was no exception. We took my mother there for her birthday and it was wonderful. The food was delicious and the service and chef were excellent. The part that I disliked was that the prices on the bill were higher than those on the menu. I asked the waitress about it and she mumbled something and left. She came back and gave us a $10 discount, which was certainly not enough for the incorrect pricing on a $400+ bill. Each meal must have been at $4-5 more on the bill. She came back and said something about catching that or sorry, I don't even remember. But she gave me the impression that she knew that the pricing was wrong and that maybe it was a way for the restaurant to make more money, not sure. But I was not happy with that and decided not to make a big deal about it. But I certainly will pay more attention next time. DO NOT ORDER TAKEOUT DURING COVID!!! I never post reviews. Tonight's meal was absolutely unacceptable. I've been craving Benihana for months. When I visit under normal circumstances, when they go around the table asking each party if they're celebrating anything, my answer is always no - I frequent this spot because I love the food. Tonight, I ordered steak & shrimp for two, with an added order of scallops, and extra fried rice. The fried rice!!! Normally, worth the trip on its own. The food I received was a complete mess. The rice tasted completely different - like the entire recipe changed - and was clumped together as though it had been scooped from a pre-made vat that had been sitting for hours. The steak - ordered medium rare - was overcooked at best and included full chunks of seasons fat passed off as more food. The shrimp was cold (I live 8 minutes away and was told when I arrived that the order wasn't ready yet - "it's on the grill right now"). The $12.50 additional scallop order included only 4.5 small scallops. Each item was stuffed in the large side of your typical Styrofoam takeout box, and sauce had leaked all over the inside of the bag. $79.17 later, I'm home completely disappointed, still craving Benihana, and even more disappointed with the state of the world. We were immediately alerted to the 3 ring circus and noise level from the moment we walked in. The food quality & quantity was COMPLETELY different as if we were at a totally different restaurant. Awful food and way smaller portions w/items missing. My first thought, they were bought out by a corporation that obviously doesn't care about quality. I researched it & it's EXACTLY what happened. Your long table has a cooking grill on one side, so the chef cooks the food right in front of you with great flare. It's a fun and unique dining experience. Valet parking takes only cash no debit cards. You may also park outside if you don't want to pay for valet parking. For faster service make a reservation otherwise you will wait at least 1 hour. Benihana's is one of those restaurants where you wish you can go here every week because of the fresh food they cook in front of you teppanyaki style. The place is great and i will do a pros and cons to make this easier as there are multiple locations. Pros - Since the addition of the sushi bar, the inside of Benihana's has definitely approved - The food is extremely good. Every time I come, the food is always perfection - The menu is great and truly is a bang for the buck. You get a lot for what you order - The $30 you get for your birthday is great. Make sure to sign up on website Cons - The wait can be hectic even with reservations. Sometimes no wait or sometimes a wait of an hour or more. - The parking situation is terrible. Only valet and they take forever to bring your car. I suggest finding parking on street. Other than that, Benihana's is a restaurant you need to have at least 3-4 times a year just because of how good it is. The customer service at this location is unacceptable. Management should really train their staff properly on how to talk to people. The girls at the front give so much attitude when your just asking about your reservation in a calmly manner, instead of apologizing for the inconvenience of waiting beyond your reservation time they answer your concerns with a suck it up and wait your turn attitude. This is clearly a repeat problem at this location. We were finally seated 52 minutes after our reservation time. The food is fine. Nothing special, but the chefs are fun to watch, less so when you are annoyed about waiting nearly a full hour for a table though.
