Street parking was easy to find! Menu had a variety of items! We tried two speciality rolls and got a variety of basic hand/cut rolls! Spicy garlic edamame were a must! Spicy tuna crispy rice was ofc our favorite! We also got two miso soups which was a nice start to our meal. The fish was fresh and had wonderful flavor. Good portions. For two beers, three appetizers and about 6-7 rolls, we paid $109 before tip. Which was so surprisingly for us! Great price and great quality sushi! read more

15 years that I come to this location regularly! My favorites are the creamy salmon cut roll and the baked crab cut roll with excellent value for price (around $8). Also love the crispy rice and albacore with crispy onions but it's more pricey at about $15. Tried the teppan roll but didn't love it. Desserts i love are the green tea tempura ice cream and the chocolate cake. Service is always good and fast. Only thing is it gets very loud inside if the place is full so it gets hard to have a conversation sometimes. Parking at the back or metered. read more

My husband and I finally tried this place in person after many takeout dinners and what can I say - I'm glad we did! The experience sitting at the sushi bar and ordering what you want, getting it fresh, and seeing other orders is unmatched. Their sushi special menu was good and had some interesting taste plates with 4 different sushi pieces using one fish. I got the albacore and my husband got the tuna. Soo good!! Loved trying all the different types. You can't forget the spicy tuna crispy rice! A staple. Tables were always cleared of any random paper trash or used plates/bowls. The Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna was very good. Nice bite sized pieces, good taste. The salad was super cold and crispy, with a nice miso dressing. The miso soup was good. I tasted the salmon teriyaki. It was ok, but I thought the salmon was a little overdone. My chicken teriyaki was a disappointment. For me, teriyaki chicken has always been marinated and grilled, so you get some nice crispy areas or color, and then more sauce is put on top. Here, it was a sliced up, seemingly just-boiled or poached chicken breast that had sauce on top. So the sauce flavor didn't get into the chicken at all. It was weird. This is a staple for my company lunches as we are walking distance and the food always hits the spot. The great thing is that they take reservations which is needed for our big groups. I'm a fan of their white fish flight and chirashi bowls. My coworkers love the popcorn shrimp tuna roll because the shrimp is nicely fried and sweet and complements the tuna roll perfectly. I had a very disappointing experience at this sushi place. I called ahead to ask about the price and was clearly told on the phone that the cost would be $38. When I arrived in person, they suddenly charged me $43 for the exact same order. This has never happened to me at the Woodland Hills location, where I always pay $38 with no issues. When I questioned the price difference, the owner himself started arguing with me instead of trying to resolve the situation professionally. Instead of honoring what I was told over the phone, he became defensive and rude. On top of that, the girl who answered the phone earlier was also very rude and unhelpful. This kind of behavior is unacceptable. Customers should not be misled about prices and then treated badly when they point it out. I felt disrespected and taken advantage of. If you're planning to dine here, be sure to make a reservation.... We went here for dinner, arrived right at 5 PM. When we asked the hostess for a table for two, she immediately mentioned that they had a reservation at 6 PM and would need the table back by then! Without asking us to follow, she walked towards the table where we'd be sitting. After ordering, we anxiously waited, as we might not be able to meet the 6PM deadline. We also had to limit our food choices to avoid running overtime. On the plus side, the servers were friendly and one of the servers even said "you don't need to rush" when we mentioned we didn't have a reservation. We'll still come back because the food is good. But next time, we'll make a reservation to avoid feeling rushed. read more

Seared albacore with crispy onion was my go-to order at the Sherman Oaks location when I had a quick stint living in SoCal. Since then, it looks like they've opened up several other locations throughout the SoCal area! - Seared albacore with crispy onion: Not as good as I remembered. I still enjoyed the crispy onion on top but it was in the deep fryer a little too long and borderline burnt. 3/5 - Miso black cod appetizer: A good portion size and tasty. I also liked the pickled veggies. This was the best dish of our meal. 4/5 - Octopus carpaccio: The contrasting crispy kale was a nice touch but the octopus was too chewy. Supposedly, the more it's massaged in preparation, the more tender it's supposed to be. Maybe it needed more massage-y. 3/5 - Spinach scallop special: It would have been nice if the sear had a bit of caramelization. The spinach was way too salty, we couldn't finish it. 3/5 - Albacore belly sashimi: The sushi rice was so wet that it crumbled when I tried to pick it up with chopsticks. My bf liked the albacore portion though. 3/5 Good, attentive service and no charge for the green tea! We walked in and were able to be seated immediately. I'm not sure if this location and the studio city location have the same owner, but there's is quite a difference with their food and service. I have been to the studio city location over 50 times over the past few years, and their food is delicious every single visit and service is outstanding. The food here in Encino was decent but not great. Popcorn shrimp- a bit overcooked, batter was falling off some of the pieces on the edge Cucumber appetizer- dressing was not flavorful Spicy edamame- not as flavorful Rolls- decent I'm not sure if I would return to this location again. read more

DoorDash driver communicated well and the restaurant packed everything nicely. Food still warm when it arrived (less than 2 miles away) and tempura crispy. A surprise gift for loved ones and would recommend based on quality of food and excellent delivery. Also, for planning purposes, order to delivery took about 1 hour and 20 minutes. read more

A solid 4 star experience. Sushi was good quality, to-go packaging was great and pick up was easy. I ordered over the phone and was told it would take 1.5 hours (it was mother's day so maybe that played a factor). I got there right on time and still had to wait about 10/15 mins but they checked in and let me know it was almost ready. I waited outside because it was a little crowded and cramped inside. There's not really a great place to wait for takeout since the host stand is right next to the door. We ordered the yellowtail jalapeño sashimi, seared albacore sashimi with crispy onions, spicy tuna with crispy rice, baked crab cut roll, shishito peppers, spicy scallop hand roll, eel cucumber hand roll, and the 4 1/2 roll. Spicy tuna on crispy rice of course didn't travel the best, but the spicy tuna on top is delicious enough to make up for it. The sushi overall was delicious. Great quality and the sauces are all fantastic. My only complaints, the spicy scallop hand roll wasn't very spicy and it was like the scallops were chopped up, not but pieces of scallop. The baked crab hand roll seemed to be heavy on the rice, and less on the crab. The 4 1/2 roll was great, but I think they skimped on the tuna a little. Spicy mayo was delicious on top though! Their miso soup was also surprisingly good. Some of the best miso soup we've had. Food is good, and is a great takeout option. Of course, after spending 45 minutes on the phone with DoorDash, I was unable to cancel my order, so I ended up driving through rush-hour traffic all the way to Encino to pick up my order only to find out that DoorDash had canceled my order five minutes before I arrived. Christina, the manager was so wonderful. She understood my frustration and made sure that I was able to reorder and receive my food in a flash. She took very good care of me.
