I've been to a Benihana before and I know due to COVID that things have had to change, however the experience was mediocre. Hostess was nice and prompt to greet and seat. I normally love eating at this resturant and go nearly every year for my birthday. Well dur to the Corona virus there only option I had this year was to order take out. So today on my birthday, myself and two of my friends made the following order; 6oz spicy chicken fried rice, edamame, shrimp tempura, pan fried beef dumplings, 12oz hibachi chicken rice. The order was observed at 7:37 pm online and advised it would be ready for curbside pick up at 8:15 pm. So we got there and called and told them the name on there order and was advised to come in to the location. So we were met at the door by a woman with a bag. She started naming what was in the order and we advised nope that wasn't it. So she asked did we order online. I said yes and gave her the name again along with the items we ordered and our bag was sitting next to the register the entire time. I guess the older gentleman hadn't printed the second ticket. Get back home to eat and there was barely any chicken in either of the fried rice portions we received. Very disappointing. So I have a container full of rice in going to have to make some chicken in order to add to the bowl full of rice i received. I've been to both locations within the DFW area, and I must say that I love the diversity amongst the chefs at this location. Though, the prepared meal is still authentic Japanese cuisine. I keep firing this place and still against my better judgment, I give it another chance. Probably not again. First of all, this place smells absolutely disgusting. I imagine the carpets have probably not been cleaned in years so the whole restaurant has a bit of a black mold smell theme to it. It is an immediate turn off when entering. The next disgusting thing this place does is they place the menu on your plate. The menu that has been in the hands of every other gross non hand washing fool that wiped their ass and then perused the menu, yeah that menu, its on my plate. Nobody seems to have an issue with this which makes me question the clientele as well as my own eating choices. I am already over this place by this point on each visit so I overlook all the cross contamination that happens during the food prep process, the dirty towels used to clean the knives and grill top. I'm so irritated with this location. I tried ordering my dish online and the website kept trying to upgrade me to two meats. I called them to place my order over the phone. I was told they don't do that and orders must be placed online or in person. I drove 20 mins to the restaurant just to place my order and wait 30 mins for my food. I told Tytiyana that I would like 2 ginger sauces and no mustard sauce. When my order was ready, I asked her "Are we good?" She said "Yes" but I should have checked it. I got home and there were 2 mustard sauces. I jumped back in my car and went back to the restaurant. After asking her "Why did I have to return?," she stated that she didn't know.
