Went to this location earlier this week and was wondering how they manage to have people coming in. The place was a mess and felt dirty. When sitting at our table we had a view of the front door and witnessed a chef walking in and wiped his nose on his uniform... ew. Then saw that he had an open WHITE CLAW in his hand and was drinking it as he was walking in. He proceeded to try to open the door and was pushing it when you had to pull. You'd think an employee at this location would know how to open the door to their own work place. Idk if he was intoxicated but considering he was confused on how to open the door and had an open alcoholic drink I'd say he was. For the most part this place was good i just wished their was more sushi in the plates. I was with two other people and they complained that they didnt get much food because the food was literally split between everybody in the table which includes strangers you dont know. Yeah it was cool to see a show right in front of us but its a rip off when the food is split between everybody. I had my food prepared in the kitchen but still feels like i got to little for the price. Would i come here again? Yes, if i wanted more sushi because their isnt many places that serve it. I ordered 3 simple meals online this evening, arrived on time after the recommended 30 minute prep time. One of the meals had to be redone and had to wait another 30 mins. (Manager, D. Carson, gave $20 certificate for their issue -thank you.) Though we all know this restaurant is expensive, I didn't know I'd get ripped off again-- the meal in the pic is Hib Chicken n Rice - this should of been 24 oz. I got charged $21.60, plus tax, plus tip for 15 oz for this meal which was closer in weight of the 12 oz meal. Maybe food preppers should use a scale next time. Hey, 9 ounces makes a difference or maybe they were including weight of container, don't know?? False advertising! read more

Mixed review. Lu the chef was awesome. Really funny guy, seemed very engaged with everyone, food was excellent. However, from the time we sat down to the time I finally got my check (after asking 2 times), 2 hours and 38 minutes. Our server Ilandis took 25 minutes just to greet us for the first time. 50 minutes to get our first drinks. Another 40 minutes to get our order then we didn't see our server for a long time. After almost 1 hour and 40 minutes from sitting, he came back to check on refills for the first time as everyone glasses were empty. I came by myself on a Wednesday night and it wasn't that busy. While I highly recommend Lu, I would be very cautious about how much time you have to spend for dinner here. read more

I'd made a reservation here for a Christmas party my roomie and I hosted for the gals we know. I hate to admit this, because as a Yelper I should know better, but I waited until the day before to actually read the yelp reviews on this Benihana's location! All gasps aside, I wasn't sure what to expect--but we ended up having a great time. This Benihana's is kind of hidden, or, "in the cut", if you will (lol). There's a decent sized parking lot and we had no trouble finding parking on a Saturday evening. The entry way is very pretty, with some seating there, and there's seating in two extra large booths by the hostess stand. There's also seating at the bar and on the perimeter of the wall next to the bar. The only downfall is that when the door opens and it's cold outside, if you are sitting in the immediate entryway corridor, or the extra large booth to the right of the host stand, you will feel that blast of arctic air. When we walked in we were greeted by a host and hostess. We ended up changing our reservation number once again, but the young man and woman we spoke with were flexible and took note without any complaints. We had to wait until our entire party was there to be seated, but we didn't mind. I've worked as a hostess before, so I understand how it goes. Once our entire party arrived we were seated within ten minutes. The restaurant was clean, and our servers were cordial. We did have to sit with two other people not in our party, since our final party count was small, but we didn't mind. Most of us ordered hibachi meals (which start at about $18.75), which came with white rice or fried, shrimp appetizer, onion soup, ginger salad, and jasmine tea. One of our party ordered sushi (thumbs up for the sushi!), three of us ordered the spicy hibachi chicken (we loved the spicy sauce!), and the last person in our party ordered the mango salmon (pricy at $23 but she loved it and the mango sauce was so pretty). Our chef was on the quieter side but he did a great job with the food. We told him one of our party was allergic to shellfish and he had no problems making sure the shrimp was cooked with different utensils. The shrimp was sooooo good. It was juicy and buttery. I loved it. Someone in a previous review mentioned the food was salty. We felt our food was seasoned just right. The alcoholic drinks were pricy and weren't very plentiful. I didn't like that. We ordered the white peach sake sangria, it was okay. It was served in a smallish glass. One of us ordered a glass of moscato, which was filled a quarter of the way up (don't get me started when I can get a $2.97 bottle from walmart!). One of our party ordered the passion-fruit lemonade and raved about it so I guess it was good! The girl who sat us took a while to come back to get our orders. That was the only real complaint I have. Overall we had a good time. We met two great people at our table, enjoyed the grilling show, and enjoyed each other's company. You have to take a special crew to a hibachi place like Benihana's to enjoy the fullness of it. :-) read more

It has been 5 years since I last went to Benihana's restaurant, and I gotta say...they have not lost their touch. Even their chef's outdid themselves with the food and entertainment! It was family night for us Raymonds and we decided to pick this place. We ordered the Hibachi Chicken & Shrimp special. Everything was cooked to perfection, including the fried rice! The environment is VERY VERY friendly, and the overall service was AWESOME!! Where else would you find dinner and entertainment at the same time (other than TVs)? Unfortunately, our eyes were bigger than our stomachs, so we took our dinners home with us. Although a little expensive than the traditional dining restaurants, it's well worth every dollar spent there. So if you're on a budget, make this an annual occasion. read more

Trenn was our hibachi chef. He did a wonderful job. The food was delicious, hot, and fresh. Bring some friends and have a great time.

First of all this place is not what is used to be. Our party was a party of 4 and my baby. We arrived and the wait was 30 min per the hostess. 30 min turned to 45 min to an hour. I asked twice about the wait finally we got seated and they didn't have chefs so we waited another hour and 30 min to get our food. The chef was nice and polite unfortunately we didn't even enjoy the show as much as we would have liked (our whole table was starving including another couple who also had been waiting for hours) We arrived at 2:40 and didn't get served until 4:40! Keep in mind we had a baby. Honestly this place is not worth spending your money anymore. Go to another location the hostess also had an attitude for asking about the wait when they clearly said 30 min not an hour we wouldn't have waited. The whole experience was just horrible we won't be going back. I wouldn't be surprised if they close this location. Unfortunately we were not the only ones who complained about service today. We received a discount, but honestly for waiting that long the discount wasn't even worth it. Don't waste your hard earn money on this location with people that have attitudes and you don't get served until way later. All in all, our visit to Benihana recently was ok. There were six of us in the party so not too large of a group. We had to wait about 15 minutes even though we had a reservation. I had to wonder if this boosts there liquor sales since the waiting area is right by the bar. Once we were seated, the waiter took our drink orders and we waited. And waited. The drinks arrived, the waiter left. We waited, and waited. He finally returned. When I asked if there was a veg option for the chicken fried rice, he immediately answered NO. One of our friends asked quickly if he could make the rice veg, and he said yes. Hmm. Once I realized the chef could just keep the chicken on the grill away from the rice, I was dumbfounded why the waiter said that. One of the members of our group had asked for plain white rice. This did not arrive until the END of our dinner, after we had to ask. They did sub miso soup for the onion soup, since it is made with beef broth. Both the soup and the salad were really good. We all ordered a variety of things and I chose the salmon. Boy, that was really good! The chef was entertaining without being too cheesy. Really talented with his knife skills. Was it the best dining experience? No, definitely not. The wait staff really need to get their stuff together, or the restaurant needs to hire more. Thankfully, the food was good. read more

This location has had its ups and downs for the last couple of years. However, I love Benihana's so much and this location is so convenient for my family, that I still come out of hope of improvement. I'm disappointed to say tonight, I ordered a Benihana Delight with chicken and shrimp FRIED rice, two additional large orders of chicken and shrimp FRIED rice with extra shrimp and chicken and received steamed, clumped up rice partially covered in soy sauce to give the illusion that it had been fried. Most of the rice had to be thrown away bc it was clumpy and soggy. I hope this review is read and true improvements are made. I'd hate to stop coming to one of my favorite places to eat. read more

I read all the terrible reviews about the wait times but I thought I will be fine since I am getting it to go, wrong! The rice didn't even taste fresh, very disappointing. Well, Benihana it had been a good decade & a half at least ... Possibly 2 decades ... That I last had stepped thru these doors, or at least the doors of any Benihana. My mum loves these hibachi places and we usually went here for my uncle & her birthday every year until a different company opened doors closer to the Ft. Worth side & we had started going there ... So I would like to say I jumped at the offer of trying this place out when my best friend asked if I wanted to go there for his birthday, cause he had a 30 coupon that he gets every year. He lives down the road from here, so why not! We had reservations for 7 on a Thursday, their at 658 & waited for about maybe 5-10 mins but it did seem like it was that they we're waiting on the previous party to vacate their spots & get the table bussed. So no big deal. Wait staff was helpful, they do warn you about up charges on fried rice which my friend told me they didn't used to do. (They got a near $15-20 surprise on their bill for 4 people one time.) Your meal comes with green tea but you did have to ask for it. Only 2 people, out of about 9 between 2 parties, got it cause We asked for it when they took drink orders. my friend waited for his cause he got a desert & liked the tea with it but he never asked for it & it never came. Onion soup was great, salad was good. Our chef didn't do much in the way of volcanos & such but the party that sat with us had a little kiddo maybe a year old so I guess that's why, but that hadn't stopped anyone before at any place I recall. Veggies we're good, munched on some rice & was full. So my husband got my chicken, mushrooms & half a bowl of rice taken home to him. I did take a bite of chicken and it was way over cooked & tasted like had no seasoning. Husband seconded this for me. I guess to have seasoning you need to pay the .25-.75 more for spicy or teriyaki. Over all a good experience but when getting in & out for $20 for 1 person is on the cheep end + a 15-20 mile drive ... The food was good but this place is a pigsty! It is filthy. The carpet is nasty, the bathroom is nasty. It doesn't look like it is ever cleaned up at all. The restaurant floor is full of food around the grill. The carpet is slick with grease and dirt! The walls are dirty. It is old, dirty and no one cares. I would hate to see the kitchen. read more

We came here for lunch for my son's 5th bday (We had a kabuki kid celebration card for a free cup, so figured why not go here). If it wasn't for the card, we would have gone to another hibachi place. The service was below average and is what ruined it for me. Our drinks never got refilled and my son was never acknowledge about his birthday (even though I noted it on our online reservation and verbally told the waitress). At the end of our meal, I had to remind her about the birthday cup he was supposed to get (I gave her the card at the beginning of our meal). The food itself was pretty good. I had the hibachi shrimp and my son had the hibachi chicken. He ate every last bite of his and some of mine. The sauteed veggies were seasoned wonderfully. I could have eaten a whole plate of just the zucchini. I then called back and was immediately placed on hold instead of getting a greeting. Not mad, but management should be aware of these things. First timer at this "fancy" hibachi but it wasn't anything I was expecting! The reviews are bad because it's bad. The bathrooms were a wreck & has no TP. The service at the bar and at the table was horrible. The lobster had shells in almost every bite. When the manager was made aware he argued with me about it trying to make me out to be a liar. We sent a glass back that they tried to pour beer into that had lipstick around the edge and the bartender just wiped it off and the next server took it to another table. I mean it when I say it was bad. Our cook did 2 tricks the whole time he cooked and over cooked everything. You would think that going there for the experience they would at least try but nope. The only reason I will take out one star is because they were understaffed and had too many tables. As a result of which the service was slow....was still good as they made up for it. Had the specialty combo with chicken and filet mignon with chicken fried rice - yumm yumm. Decided to go out to dinner with my husband for my birthday. I haven't been to Benihana in several years but it's close to home and we thought it might be fun for something different. We got there around 7pm on a Thursday night and were told it would be a 35-40 minute wait. Since we were walk-ins, no problem. We bought drinks and settled in to wait. We were called back at 7:25 and seated at a table with a family of six. Service was a little on the slow side, but we got our drinks, placed our orders, and received our soup & salad courses without too much issue. Then, we sat and waited. And waited. And waited....and waited. No sign of our chef, our waitress, or any indication that our food would begin cooking soon. The father from the family sitting with us even looked at me and said, "Where's the beef?!" I checked the time, and saw it was 8:30. We had been sitting at the table FOR OVER AN HOUR. To put this in perspective, when we were first seated, the group at the table next to us had just been served their food. In the time we waited for our chef to appear, the table next to us ate their meal, paid, got their packaged leftovers, vacated the table and the table was cleaned & reset, a new group seated, and new orders placed and soup/salad served. ALL OF THIS while we sat and waited. At this point, my husband and I did something we have never, ever done before: we left. Since we had previously paid for our drinks at the bar and only ordered water at the table, we literally got up and walked out of the restaurant. We got in the car, called in a to-go order of sushi at Blue Fish across the street, picked up our food, drove home and finished eating in about 20 minutes total. I understand that sometimes restaurants are short-staffed, and I'm pretty forgiving. But I have no idea if that was the issue, and if it was, our waitress should have come by at least once to apologize and/or give an update. Maybe the overall meal experience at Benihana has changed since I've been there and you're expected to dedicate 3+ hours to the dinner experience. But at the rate things were going, I didn't see how we would be eating our food before 9:00 at the earliest. At that point, I was not willing to spend $70+ while I angrily ate my delayed meal. There are other hibachi restaurants, and considering Benihana is simply a chain that doesn't offer anything proprietary, I can't say we're planning to go back. read more

My husband and I received gift cards for Christmas to go to Benihanas. It is not a place we go to much (maybe once in 5 years) but we were excited to have a nice night out. Alas, I spoke to soon! I called around noon to set up a reservation for 6 pm, when talking to the hostess she said she had a 5:45 and took our information including my name and number. We arrived 10 minutes early to find out that I did not even have a reservation there despite calling and confirming. I was upset but they worked it out fairly quickly and seated us with others, we were happy to just get a seat because they were filling up quickly. From the moment we sat down we felt rushed, the waitress was fairly nice but she wouldn't listen to my order or my husbands. She seemed to have more time for the party of 6 we were with though. When she brought the drinks, they had spilled everywhere and they were dripping all over the table. Our cook Pedro was nice, didn't talk much and did the same tricked they always do. It was a pleasant experience up until it came time to cook. I was in the first seat so I received the smallest portion of the table, annoying but okay. My husband's rice was an afterthought and when we received it there was a hair in the bowl. They quickly replaced it and started the shrimp, I turned to my husband and told him to be careful when he ate it because they were not cleaned properly and most still had the poop inside. I wanted to gag, I passed on the shrimp. When making my food, I did not receive some of the ingredients that were supposed to go in my food because they forgot I got the Teriyaki, as well as someone else. They gave him the full portion of food and I got my meat and very few vegetables. One slices of zucchini, 1/2 a slice of onion and a tablespoon of mushrooms.... I paid about $40 a person and hardly got any food. Over all I will NOT be going back, we had to get some extra food on the way home. It was not a great experience and I'm left frustrated. read more

This is our annual Christmas dinner place since 2009 we've only missed coming when we were out of town and during the pandemic.

I enjoy coming to Benihana. The restaurant is starting to show its age however. The last time I ate thEre I was not impressed by the overall appearance of the restaurant. This was by far my worst experience at Benihana 's. Let's start with service first, my party came, which was a party of 10. Our server maybe checked up on us at most three times within the four hours that we were there. I got water one time. Now let's go to the cook. I let the cook know that there was a birthday at the table. My reasoning for doing so, was to ensure that he does tricks And the classic Benihana moves. I feel like I got a cook that was on the first day of the job. Our vegetables were burnt our rice still had blotches of white in it even though it was fried rice. My meat was not great. And my friends chicken was not cooked through all the way. I was so antsy and ready to leave the place I couldn't even ask for a manager. read more

(we All shared with her) My husband ordered a beer, she brought him two and didn't open them. He had to go to the bar to get the bartender to open for him. We saw her one time while we were eating dinner. She brought the check and decided we didn't need the change. We had to track her down to get the change. We will never eat at this location again.
