I have had a TERRIBLE experience at Benihana's. Show up and then they tell me 5 min till they seat me. 5 min later they seat me. I was forced to share a table with total strangers and I couldn't do anything about it. After I order my drink the women comes back. I assume she has our drinks but no. She shows up because she forgot what I ordered for a drink because she can't read her OWN handwriting! Finally those strangers leave because they finished eating. Ordered take out and was told it would be 20 min. After 20 min still no food. Receptionist kept making excuses for the kitchen, "they are working on it." Another 20 goes by and still no food but plenty of excuses. Eventually I saw the chef come out and speak to reception. At one hour and I was still waiting for what was supposed to be a 20 min take out order, I finally asked for a refund. When I did the receptionist told me they NEVER even started my order! So I was waiting there for one hour being misled that my order was actually being prepared. I'm sorry but there is NO EXCUSE for that. The least they could have done is said after the first 20 min wait that it would be another half hour or more and give me the option to leave. As for the food this is our second choice for hibatchi and sushi. It's close to our house and conveininet, but much better quality food and 60% of the cost can be found in Weston at Japan Inn. Their hibatchi is superior with better quality of meat. After the take out incident we won't be returning to benihana. read more

This place offers a pretty unique set up.... several tables set up with a personal grill chef. You may be sitting with random people if your party isn't big enough to take up an entire table. The grill chef makes unique shapes and phrases with the food on the grill and performs a few tricks here and there. Each person will get what they ordered, but by the time the chef serves everyone (especially if everyone orders something different and with special requests ex: no egg in fried rice) then it'll take the chef time to complete and serve up everyone's order. By the time everyone was served, my food became cold. I ordered spicy chicken and mushrooms .... I had no idea that the mushrooms would be served first ... then get cold.... until my chicken is cooked. It was very time consuming. Although it's a unique experience, I won't be coming back. Too time consuming and sitting with strangers in close proximity may not be something you're looking forward to when you just want to be alone with your special someone or friends. read more

Here waiting for a table over 1 hour and half. I was told that the wait for walk-in was an hour. Approached the front desk and asked how long. I was told by the manger that they were waiting for the folks to get up and if i like I could ask them to them to get up. Customer service at its finest. Two hungry kids no choice to stay. My first time having a hibachi style meal and I was very pleased. You receive a lot of food so I think it's worth the price. Our waitress was very helpful and our chef was hilarious and got us all involved. He was cautious with cooking the shrimp due to one of the people having an allergy. Overall great time... My babe and I went on a Sunday around 2 pm. We were told it was a 45 min wait but it wasn't...only 10 min. We were quickly seated but I had to kids seated at our table with their families. Lord the kids were not to bad. However the food was awesome and our cook Tak was ok. No special tricks or anything. If your in the mood for some yummy Japanese food and great service this is the place to go! My favorite time to come is lunch because the prices cannot be beat! You get the same things you order at dinner for half the price! Not only that , there is more food being served and great service. Coming here is normal for my family and I we enjoy the lunch hibachi grilled chicken with double fried rice and the onion soup! The service is great , very attentive servers. The only negative I found lately would be the amount of people who have been there during lunch! Around 12-1:30 pm there's way to many people at the bar area for the quick lunch service. For the sit down "show" with the chefs cooking in front of you there isn't much of a line , but it's a good and fun lunch or dinner to watch it you have never seen them cook In Front of you Beware you may smell like food after but it's totally worth it! Benihana's is hands down my favorite restaurant, especially the north bay village location. This past Saturday I visited this location for my one year anniversary and usually have a good experience here. We made reservations for 7:30 and were not seated until 9:00, meaning we ate at about 9:45. I suppose it was due to us arriving and the hostess arriving us but never gave us a pager. Once we asked how much longer until we were seated, we were then given a pager. Luckily, the bar/ lounge area wasn't very busy so we had a few drinks while we waited. The waiter was great as well as the cook. Food and drinks were awesome! I had the Benihana punch and 2 hot sakes as well as the Benihana trio. My partner had the entree with filet mignon and chicken (can't remember the name) along worth the Benihana punch and a mai tai. All of it was amazing. I know for next time to make reservations for 6:00 to be able to eat by 7:30-8:00. Other than the wait, everything was great! read more

The seating waits for the grill are endless, however, when I've gone and asked for a table or seating by the sushi bar it tends to be quick. The lunch specials are fantastic and end @3pm. Our waitress was very charismatic and quick when getting and bringing us our orders. I recommend getting the J steak and H Shrimp with the fried rice and soup or salad. As for desert the banana tempura is amazing! Definitely recommend it if you have a big appetite and don't mind spending a little extra. read more

Benihanas... Ah we love this place! It is a bit pricey, but well worth it. We come here for birthdays and to celebrate special days. Sometimes it's hit or miss with the hibachi cook. Im not talking about the food, that is always exultant. Im talking about the "show they put on." the kids love that they make cooking fun, so when they dont do tricks and jokes it isn't as fun. Food was just ok, I like my food very flavorful. Experience was the same generic show as all habachi spots. Henry was nice but a little dead in the eyes. I went for my birthday because I have never been to a "Benihana". I have definitely had better for less. If you like spicy, I do recommend the Crispy Spicy Tuna. I only give a three star rating for the hibachi experience. I do not like having to sit with other parties when I want to go out to at and be able to talk privately with my guests. The food is average. The cooks put on a nice show but they tend to skimp on the food when you do not give your undivided attention. It took what seems like FOREVER to get seated. After getting vaccinated for Covid and not having been out for a year I received a birthday certificate from Benihana. My son and I went to the one in Miramar for and late lunch early dinner and arrived around 3:30pm. We were told it would be a 45 minute wait for a tale but we could seat ourselves in the lounge and eat there. We went into the lounge and the only table was dirty so my son asked if someone could please clean it. the response form a manager was that we should not have been let in the lounge if there wasn't a clean table but he would ask someone to clean it. we finally sat and waited about 8 minutes for the wateriness who was talking with a group of 4 men at another table. When she finally acknowledged us she was very quick to get the order and back to the men at the other table. my steak came out raw and cold, I was never asked how I wanted it. parts of the order were missing and I asked twice for sauces my food was almost gone before they arrived and when we told them that the mushrooms had not been with the steak a small dish of mushrooms were brought out after the meal was finished. the service was bad and the food worse. Even with my birthday certificate it was not an inexpensive meal. I will never eat in the lounge area at any Benihana ever again and I will never return to this Benihana for anything. read more

I usually don't write reviews but this place was terrible. We sat down and as the chef started cooking there was a cockroach crawling around on the wall. Everyone on the table noticed and finally the chef told someone to come kill it but it got away. Shortly after it came back and the workers did nothing. A customer ended up killing the roach with her napkin, as we all tried to keep cool there was a another roach crawling out of the cushion on the bench I was sitting at. Immediately everyone got up. It was so bad they had to switch us to another table. The place was very nasty and dirty. Will not be coming back. read more

Yesterday was Mother's Day and the wait was long(definitely expected). I was told that they would call my name when our table was ready. About an hour and a half later I went to the hostess just to get an update. Come to find out that our name had been skipped. So thankfully they were able to sit us. After being seated, a server came over and took our drinks. About 10mins later a family was seated at the station on our left and then one on our right. Still waiting on our drinks, the drinks were brought out to the people that had just been seated. Finally our drinks came out. About 20 mins later, both stations next to us that sat down after we did received their cook. So I asked our server (after searching for her) when our cook would be arriving. Let me just say this, the table to the right was finishing up when our cook finally started. Although the staff was nice, the experience yesterday was unacceptable. This is my moms favorite restaurant and I felt really bad about our experience on Mother's Day. read more
