Overall happy hour is great. Only complaint is the happy hour baked Brie. It is a huge wedge of cheese (too much for two people to eat), but it only comes with 4 pieces of crostini. When you order more crostini they charge you $3 for four more slices. We ate the crostini and the $3 extra crostini and still didn't finish the cheese. Second time here in 6 months, so basing this review on both experiences. First off, the food was great both times, so if that's all that matters in your dining expectations, this might be a solid option. However... I had reservations for 2 on a Friday night and chose "standard" seating in the reservation. We were seated at a high top in the bar instead, very close to another (very loud) couple. After a series of unfortunate and uncomfortable events (after of which I'm still kicking myself for not just leaving), we finally were able to peruse the menu and order dinner and drinks- which came out quickly and met all expectations. The "series of unfortunate events" was known to staff (due to the scene created by table beside us) and at no time did management come by to check out what happened, acknowledge, or offer an apology. The first time here months ago was not completely unlike this one, only no reservations and seated at the bar by choice. Terrible service, obnoxious, inconsiderate crowd, but still great food and good wine selection. The Roseville Bennett's has been great the few times we've been there and I'll continue to support that location. This one is off the rotation. read more

The three stars are for the food, which technically would rate higher but my friend and I did not have the full Bennett's experience. I normally visit the location in Sacramento on Fair Oaks and my experiences have been vastly different . From my experience, I thought this location perhaps opened a few weeks ago but my girlfriend tells me that this location has been opened for several months, perhaps before Christmas. We arrived before noon and we were told the wait would be 15-20 minutes which was fine. About 10, minutes in someone came up and asked if we had a reservation, we told him that we put our name on the list, but no problem. About 5 minutes later were offered two seats at the bar...hmmm no and that point I was regretting my decision to consider this location. We started to leave and the manager asked us to wait just a moment and he found a table/booth for us. We sat down and there were two setups for us. Someone brought us water and then we ordered. My girlfriend wanted to do the 2/$44 brunch and bubbly, while I wanted a wedge salad. She was going to take the other entree to-go. Tiffany, The server, asked what kind of juice my girlfriend wanted and she told her orange. We were good until the server brought a 3/4 glass of orange juice to the table and a bucket of champagne. I was wondering why it was in a glass and not in a small juice carafe. I was wondering why our server did not ask if we wanted an additional flavor of juice, as this has always been our experience at the other location. She literally opened the bottle of champagne and went to walk away! There were no glasses on the table and I suspect she meant for my friend to pour her own champagne in the juice glass! My friend asked her for a champagne glass and she replied, oh yes, they're normally already on the table...further evidence that she was never intending on the glasses because after she opened the champagne she told her to be careful when pouring the champagne into the juice because it would overflow...she should have poured the first glass for us in any event . We watched her pour champagne at the booth behind us, we watched as she checked and inquired with everyone else. Someone else delivered our food, we had to flag our server down for salt, pepper, and Tabasco, after that we didn't see her until our food was done. Again, no check-up to see if the food was fine but attentive at other tables. We noticed that she wasn't great at listening. She would walk off while we were still talking because when we asked for the Tabasco, salt, and pepper, we also asked for ketchup. When we were giving the champagne order, my friend told her only one glass but she brought two. Part of the issue is she would be off before we finished sentences and we were left talking to her back. I am a Bennett's fan and I participated with them during the early days of the pandemic when they were preparing to-go meals for families and really appreciated them and the efforts they went through to adjust to a new normal. I celebrated Bennett's when we opened up and everyone began dining again and have been a fan since, but I didn't enjoy my experience here. When our check came she gave a quick spiel about letting her know about dessert, but didn't ask. How are you going to know if you are dropping off the check and walking away? How are you going to know if you don't ask? It's my birthday week and I might have wanted something extra. You can't sell it if you don't ask. The food can be excellent, but if service is under par, or the table( not just me) feels purposely looked over, disregarded, or ignored then it's not such a great experience and would give me pause to eat at this location again. Walked in to Bennett's for the first time looking to just grab a burger for lunch. We were greeted by welcoming staff and were seated in a comfy booth right away. Our server took our drink order and we ordered a salad to start. There was no pressure to order our mains as she gave us plenty of time to enjoy our starter salad. My husband had the burger- I got blinded by the delicious Steak & Frittes and we shared the Bacon Mac &Cheese. Everything was off the hook delicious! It's kind of interesting that this restaurant opened in the place of Chevy's and they have a very similar flautas dish with the same sauces and presentation. They were very close in taste to the Chevy's version that we enjoy. Unfortunately it was kind of downhill from there. The chicken enchiladas had a good flavor but we got a couple of unexpected bone fragments in the chicken. The garlic Parmesan fries were okay. Moving on to the worst part: the service. After being seated we waited over 20 minutes before asking a passing employee to please let our server know we were ready to order. Our server arrived and apologized for the wait and reassured us that everything would be good from then on. Our drinks took about 30 minutes to arrive. Our server would disappear for 20-30 minutes at a time. What started as a quick drinks and light meal turned into a 2.5 hour ordeal. At one point our server, probably noticing our annoyed looks, said "don't worry, we will take care of you". I thought that meant at least the drinks would be taken care of because they took so long to come out, but instead he said dessert would be on them. We asked for the butter cake to go since we had been there an obscene amount of time by then. It was by far the worst butter cake we had ever tasted. It was rock hard. After 2 bites it went into the garbage. We may be open to trying them again because the drinks and flautas were good and they are close to home, but we just can't spend a good chunk of our day there again. read more

Okay so here's my take on this new establishment. I parked and asked customers walking out if there was a cool seating area (it's 104 degrees) they said YES THE WHOLE PLACE IS FANTASTIC. So we walk in and it's nice and cold and most of all CLEAN. We got seated immediately on a Sunday at 2:30pm. The server was extremely attentive I could not finish my water it was constant table side service. Asked for the most recommended appetizer and it was the Jalapeño corn bread. It really leaves you speechless. I got the weekend "special" prime rib because I really wanted to judge the place on what they're trying to push out of the kitchen. Started with a Caesar salad and the croutons are made in house and they're so delicious I don't think I've ever complemented a crouton before. My husband ordered the Bennett Burger and added bacon. The entrees came and did not disappoint. The fries were amazing and it came with a dill ranch on the side. The prime rib crust was tasty and came with mashed potatoes and a side of horseradish. We were here for my workplace anniversary party on a Friday evening. We were seated by the patio and thought it would be chilly but they did have it covered. The area was fully equipped with heaters hence we were all comfortable. Service was great hence the 4 stars. The dinner includes non-alcoholic beverages along with beer, wine or cocktails at $15 or less. Kids 12 and below able to order from the full children's menu. Choices as follow: Starters : 1. Salt and pepper prawns - love this 2. Butcher's board with charcuterie, cheeses, nuts, marinated olives and focaccia bread - didn't try it but was popular with our entire party Second Course - choice of : 1. Green Salad with vinaigrette- son liked it, it tasted good since I tried a little bit 2. Cream of five mushroom soup - my choice, I did like it but it would have been better with lesser salt. We all agreed it was too salty Entrees - choice of: 1. Prime rib with buttered mash potatoes - very good 2. Roasted chicken with crispy bread salad, candied walnuts and gold raisins, winter greens - a little bit dry and needed seasoning 3. Grilled porkchops that is bone-in hoisin marinated with mashed potatoes - was not able to try it 4. Halibut with toasted garlic bread - MY CHOICE because as per server it was her favorite and it is juicy and buttery. I now regretted my choice as it really didn't deliver. It was rubbery and also it smelled fishy plus i didn't get the toasted garlic bread. Instead I had mushrooms and peas on my plate Dessert - choice of: 1. Chocolate layer cake with sweet cream and amarena cherries - it was ok and I had better ones but I did like the cherry 2. Key Lime pie - hubby's choice! I'm not a fan of key lime pie but this one was surprisingly good. It was a very busy night so most likely the kitchen was busy trying to deliver on time the food so maybe we can try it another night to check if it gets any better. Don't bother going at 2:00 when their happy hr starts. They will seat you, serve you one drink and never come back. After 30 minutes and no appetizer or additional drink, I left. Paid for my drink with the hostess who was too busy booking a party to even take my money. Clue: when someone comes in as a single party- it doesn't mean less of a tip, it actually means more. I always tip at least 50% when I dine alone. Being ignored while giving 2 people dressed in dirty jeans and old clothes a tour of the patio and party options told me how valuable I was as a patron. Finally getting a chance to check out this establishment. It was moderately crowded for a Friday night. Customer service was smooth and fast. I had the steak and bacon tacos that were delicious. The chipotle aioli was very good next time I will ask for a little extra. My daughter ordered the Ribs and chicken, the ribs were overcooked and tough as leather. The bar did not have two seats together, so we asked if we could sit at another table around the bar that didn't have a reserved spot on it, she quickly said no. We were right under a very cold vent, even the 20-something-year-old men in our group were cold. We asked about possibly turning it down a bit and she said there wasn't much she could do. We began to order off the small menu we were handed for appetizers, but she looked at her watch and said it was after six, sorry. We could order but it would all cost more. We were seated slightly before 6 and given the menus, but didn't say anything and decided against ordering appetizers until we looked at the main menu more. The food was good! In our party we had bugers, fish, a chopped salad, french dip, and ribs + friend chicken. They were all very good, fresh, and the fries were amazing! We waited a long time for the server to return when we finished our meal and asked for the dessert menu. She took so long to come back, and we were cold, so we decided to pass, even though it was my birthday. Someone also placed a tray with dirty dishes and cups right near my head on the ledge of the booth. Literally, I was inches from it - that was a little gross. Overall, we would come back (especially before 6!) and hope for a better server and table. My family went to the Bennett's Westside Grill last night. I have always had a great experience here with great food and great drinks. Last night was not the standard that we received in the past. We ordered the crab deviled eggs, which were nothing more than a hard boiled egg cut in half with some crap thrown on top of it. Quite disappointing. My son ordered the mac & cheese with bacon. The mac & cheese was dry and hard. It looked and tasted like it had been sitting under a heating lamp for quite some time. The chicken enchiladas were lacking. To end our evening we ordered a butter cake, which was still frozen when it was delivered to our table. Not sure what's going on with this restaurant, but we were quite disappointed and not sure we will return. read more

We tried the new Bennett's Westside Grill (in Rocklin) last weekend. Another couple joined us, and overall, we all had a positive experience. While the service was a little spotty (most likely due to challenges related to started up business & new staff), the food was marvelous ... with one very minor exception. Both the drink and food menus were extensive with a variety of tempting choices. I started with a Whistle Pig Bourbon - neat. Others had martinis and wine. Our order included: * Heirloom Tomato & Burrata Salad * Maui Beet Salad * Dungeness Deviled Eggs * Grilled Salmon * Prawn Linguine * Short Rib with Mashed Potatoes * Idaho Trout Our orders had generous portions and the food was well plated. My Short Ribs came with a delicious horseradish cream. The only issue we had with the food was my partner's Prawn Linguine. Some of the linguine was stuck together based on mis cooking. The manager apologized, indicating they had received other complaints and were addressing the problem. He offered us a free meal to go. Prices were competitive and I will return. read more
