Wow. This place is busy. Came here on a Monday night and it was packed. Nicely remodeled. Slightly upscale. Spacious. Service was great considering how busy it was. They paced the meal nicely. Food menu had a good selection and food was served hot and fresh. This is a nice addition to the Bennett's group of restaurants. I had the Filet of course, and it was great. We had an incredible meal at their other location so we absolutely had to try this new location. We were not disappointed! The inside felt more formal than the other location. The color scheme is on the darker side, but the light shade to the seating brightened things up. The restaurant is large with a nice bar and seating for all sized groups. The service was good. She was knowledgeable and funny. I prefer that the server ask if I'd like a refill of my drink instead of me having to ask the server, but that sounds snobbish so forget I said that. I highly recommend the jalapeño cornbread. It is beyond delicious. It is sweet, savory, spicy, and has great texture. Don't cut it into slices trying to be cute, just grab a fork and start digging in. I was in the mood for fries and not much else so I got what some call a "hot girl dinner." I ordered the pound of fries and green salad. The fries were disappointingly lukewarm, but still good. The sauces were by far the best part. One was like the sauce from that misanthropic chicken place and the other smoky. The salad was weakly dressed. You must try the jalapeño cornbread. Ain't nothing wrong with that! read more

Bennett's Westside Grill is the latest addition to the small chain of three restauants, located in the greater Sacramento area. The Rocklin location opened it's doors three days ago, and today, I enjoyed the first day this fine restaurant was open for weekend brunch. And... what a weekend brunch to enjoy! As you enter the restaurant, you'll realize where the name "market" is derived from as there are baked goods, salsa, chips and more that are showcased on a counter for sale. You'll be greeted by a friendly staff member who will hand you a menu and seat you. Since I was dining alone, I simply requested to seat myself at the bar, which worked out perfectly. The dining room is comfortable and furnished with booths, tables and tall bar tables. The decoration is comfortable and the lighting is subdued, which made photography a bit difficult. The centerpiece of the restaurant is the GIGANTIC full service bar, which - on weekends - specializes in brunch cocktails, such as Irish coffee, Bloody Marys, Mimosas, and much more. If those drinks aren't your forté, the bar will mix you any drink of your choice. Each table and every seat at the bar is set with a wine glass, cloth napkin wrapped silverware and a menu. Bennett's Westside Grill is a class act when it comes to a restaurant! From the "Brunch" section of the menu - served on weekends - I went with "Bennett's Cheeseburger," along with a side of fries. As suggested by the friendly bartender, I "enhanced" my burger by adding bacon, avocado and a fried egg. This truly made for a delicious burger, which would be a sure cure for any hangover! The menu describes the burger as, "All chuck, handcrafted, black pepper, aioli, acme bun, fries." Alright, but what is an "acme" bun? That's a new one for me... I was asked how I wanted my beef cooked and I requested medium. As advertised, the burger started out with a generous beef patty, seasoned, and cooked perfectly medium, as per my request. I would guess the beef patty was around a half pound, but whatever it was, it was simply perfect and made for a great burger. Melted cheddar cheese enhanced the meat. The "acme" bun was perfectly toasted, slightly crusty on the outside, but tender and chewy on the inside, which is the way a bun should be. Both sides of the bun were coated with aioli, which added an exotic, creamy taste to the burger. The meat-to-bun ratio, which is crucial to a great burger was perfect. Veggies were simple as they were simple: Tomato, onion and lettuce. Simple is good, and fresh is even better, and the veggies were as fresh as it gets. When Gillian asked me if I wanted to add a fried egg, avocado and bacon to my burger, I hesitated for about a half a second and then said "Yes!" Such a great enhancement to a delicious burger! Also... the fried egg, bacon and avocado would have worked for a sure cure to a hangover, which I didn't have on this Saturday morning. The bacon, fried and egg would have worked if I had been affected with a hangover. I noted there was no mustard, ketchup or hot sauce at the bar or any table, as per the custom in your local roadside diner. Mustard, ketchup or anything else aren't needed as Bennett's burger is simply standalone delicious. So... what about "Bennett's Cheeseburger?" One bite into this burger and it was simply... WOW! The toasted bun worked with the juicy meat, melted cheese, the fresh veggies and the tangy aioli to create on of the best burgers in Placer County! I LOVE cheeseburgers, and I simply ADORED the cheeseburger I enjoyed today at Bennett's Westside Grill! Bennett's serves a delicious cheeseburger! The burger came with a side of fries, which were stacked in an unusual, yet visibly pretty presentation. The fries were pretty, but they were simply some of the best fries I've enjoyed in a long time! The fries were cut to a medium size and perfectly deep fried to a medium, golden brown on the outside, yet they were tender, moist and juicy on the inside. The fries were simply amazing, and my host brought a couple of small cups of "Ranch" dressing on the side for dipping. "Bennett's Cheeseburger" along with a side of fries will get your Saturday morning started the right way, and will make your entire day... If you're a lover of a fine weekend brunch, Bennett's Westside Grill has you covered, as the food is over-the-top delicious, the dining is comfortable, the full-service bar is amazing, and the staff are definitely "Bennett-friendly." Yayyy! So happy there's a Bennett's near west park now. This one seems a little larger than the eureka location. We came for lunch on a Friday and were seated right away. Our server was attentive and friendly. This location has a couple new items not featured at the other location. However we went with our staple jalapeño cornbread. I got the tempura shrimp and they were super crunchy and delicious- no soggy batter here! The spicy chihuahua margarita was great. So happy to have you on the west side! read more

My hubby surprised me with an amazing dining experience at Bennetts tonight for our 20th wedding anniversary (that happened last month! This was our first trip there. We sat at the bar, ordered drinks, and then my husband enquired about a beer, without asking the bartender brought him a sample. We then ordered 2 lobster tails and a rib-eye steak for 2, medium rare. Next thing we know, Nick (our amazing bartender) brings out 3 rib-eyes for us to choose from. This restaurant is such a wonderful addition to the area! The atmosphere is very enjoyable. The bar is massive and they have so much seating throughout. The food was some of the best food I've had! I can't recommend the spinach dip or butter cake enough! This is now a new staple for us. Anyone who complains about their food or service, but didn't reach out to a manager to say something, should not be taken seriously. The staff/management is spectacular and they would absolutely correct any wrong if they were made aware of it, ESPECIALLY in the first week of being open. I can't wait to go back! read more

I've been a loyal customer of Bennett's, both at this location and their Eureka location, for years and have always loved the food and service. During my recent visit, our server was absolutely fabulous--she was attentive, warm, and knowledgeable. She introduced us to some of their new seasonal drinks, which were amazing and started the meal off perfectly. We also had the croquettes which were a new addition to the menu and tasted really really great. Unfortunately, when it came to our entrées, I was served a lobster that smelled very fishy and seemed off, which was a first for me at Bennett's. I thought maybe my senses were overly sensitive, but when I took my first bite, I spit it right into my napkin. I throughly enjoy lobster and have never had a bad lobster at any restaurant I've dined in. Our server graciously apologized and said she would take the lobster off from the bill, which I greatly appreciated. She mentioned she would inform a manager too; but despite us waiting, no one ever came by--even after we paid. I want to emphasize that I wasn't looking for compensation or anything of the sorts; I simply wanted to make them aware of the issue so it wouldn't happen to someone else. However, the lack of follow-up from management left me severely disappointed. We had a movie to catch, so I didn't want to prolong our visit or actively seek out a manager, as I didn't feel it was my responsibility to do so. As someone who has loved dining at Bennett's for years, this experience was disappointing. Despite this one meal, I still really consider Bennett's to be one of my favorite restaurants, but it will take me some time before I eat here again. I hope this feedback is taken constructively to ensure their high standards are maintained. read more

The service wasn't great :( I was looking forward to Father's Day this year. For some reason our server seemed disconnected. Some examples, she didn't bring us waters after asking, she forgot my fiancé's cocktail, she never came to check in to see if someone needed a soda refill, she dropped off coffees and didn't come back until food got there so we never got sugar for our coffee until halfway through the meal. She didn't bring us boxes even though she asked us first if we wanted one and we said yes. Overall just seemed inconvenienced that we were there. I like the university village location better in terms of service and food. The ahi tuna wasn't great here and I don't recommend it. Location is nice and spacious but the service can use a lot of improvement, or maybe our server was having a bad day. read more

My husband and I would always dine at Bennet's in Rocklin when they first opened. We loved the food, but unfortunately the food has become below desirable . We dined there twice more hoping perhaps it was just a couple of off nights for them. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing again. I wanted to take my husband just once again to try their prime rib special since we have never ordered that and I was very hopeful for a good meal but yet again extremely disappointed. We were served a very thick piece of rib that was extremely chewy , not tender and very difficult to eat. I had the cauliflower gratin that was absolutely tasteless ! I'm really hoping that they can recover since it's such a great location and a nice ambiance. read more

Been here several times, tonight the cooks messed up. It was awful and when telling the manager about the mess up on the sauces he said ok and did nothing. That's fine! Just won't be back when they can't get stuff right. Overcooked bacon, bland wedge salad. Tempura bang sauce came out with no sauce on the cabbage and some white sauce for the shrimp. Burger had way too much pepper sauce and was over cooked. I think I'm done until they can get it right. read more

Recently tried this restaurant at their Pop-up @ Country in the Park. The Ribs were delicious and tender (I'm from the south and am picky). They had a place for customers to actually sit and eat. Which I appreciated after standing all day. The staff so was kind, and professional. I was working the booth next door with BeatBox beverages...The owner Brain was so nice to offer us waters as it was heating up throughout the day. He also had a nice set up for his employees which I think says much about his character. Go support this business! Wheather you go into one of their restaurants or need an event catered! Don't skip the French fries!!! Homemade dill ranch, delicious. The steak was very fresh, lots of butter on it. Cooked perfectly medium and tender. The service was a bit slow but they were very busy.
