We came here on a whim after golfing in Roseville. The ambience is nice. However, we started off with spinach dip. If we weren't so hungry we probably wouldn't have ate as much as we did. It was not very good. Lacking flavor and kind of weird to serve with potato chips. I got the mahi tacos and my boyfriend got the steak and bacon tacos, he loves his tacos and my tacos were pretty good. I just wish when the server asked if we liked the spinach dip and we both shrugged and said it's ok, if they would have maybe offered another option. Everything else was fine though. read more

The Mia salad wasn't very good. The vinegarette dressing was light and already tossed when it came out. The salad could use a sweet element, i.e fruit balance out the sour ingredients such as salad greens, almonds, tomatoes, cornbread croutons. The jalepeno cornbread is mushy inside, not used to that consistency with cornbread. The service was great server offer to bring out another loaf that he had cooked a little longer. read more

Food was OK, but cold. We came at 5 & ate with 2 other couples who had the $65 shared meal with a bottle of wine. Their meals were fine. My husband & I wanted to order hot appetizers, so we ordered 4 as our only food. The salads came for the couples, then their entrees, then their extras. Finally, we got our food, which was stone cold. When only 3 came, we asked where the 4th was & they walked back with it, cold. We're sure all 4 had been on the counter since before the other couple's food was even out. I asked for plates so we didn't have to eat on the service platters. I asked 2 times & they never came. I was able to take the bottom plate from one person's soup & my husband ate off one of the platters. I also asked for room temp water (medical need) & it was finally brought the 1st time after about 5 minutes. At that time, we were the only table seated around us. Later in the meal, I asked for more water, 2 more times it finally came almost 30 minutes later. My husband left 20% tip w/o thinking. ?? Although both couples enjoyed their hot meals, one couple was charged $167.?? for what should have been $65 + $7 for the Happy Hour Drink= $72 + tax & tip. Normally, I like coming there, but this is the 3rd time they've messed up in 6 months (other 2 times were for problems for other people at our table), so don't know that I'll be back soon. read more

Four of us went for their Summer Menu on Sunday. Chicken Chimichurri was excellent and so was the classic wedge salad! The ice cream sundae had real whipped cream but very little chocolate sauce. Was really excited that they opened a Bennetts On this side of town... As we used to go to Chevys when it was at that location ... I really enjoyed the happy hour and went for brunch a couple of times... Service has been excellent all the time... But then All of a sudden, when you walk up to bldg there's a sewer smell... Went a couple more times after that and the smell was still there... Wanted to go yesterday, but couldn't get past the part of that smell possibly still being there... The other person I was with also noticed it... Also, food is pretty good On the happy hour menu but I think after a couple years They should make some changes... Ribs tend to be dried out on there and the short rib tacos are a little bit too greasy. Cheeseburger is excellent. But would be nice if they offered a small dinner or Caesar salad besides the wedge salad. read more

Mixed feelings on this one. Food was very good. My burger was cooked to a perfect medium as requested, and was well seasoned with a delicious black pepper aioli. Wife enjoyed her omelette, and the smashed potatoes on the side were tasty . However..... Prices are way too high. $20 for a burger is just too much. Service was friendly but way too slow. Food took maybe 40 minutes or so to arrive. Maybe they were down a cook or something. Sodas are served in a can... super tacky. Get a darn fountain for sodas! Verdict- Not sure if we'll be back. We've been here five times now. And every time it's been a great experience. They genuinely demonstrate their desire to go above, and beyond when it comes to service. Personally, we only go during happy hour, because we like to eat early and their prices are just so darn good. Today was the first time we actually sat outside on the patio. I was nervous, thinking it might be too hot, but they have it climate controlled and shaded. so the amazing ambience that's inside the restaurant actually carries over to the patio. Wesley was our server, and we never caught him without a smile. It looked like he was hustling everywhere he went, but maintained a certain level of calm at the same time. We love this Bennetts. Second time I went to this place and it was just as good as the first. They were able to sit us down right away even tho the place seemed packed. The waitress was super friendly and attentive. First time we got the house smoked salmon to share, which was amazing, so we had to get again the second time we went. I had a chance to try the steak and bacon tacos, and the second time around I had the BBQ ribs and fried chicken. Both times, the food, service and quality was impeccable. read more

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction and concern regarding an incident that occurred on February 1st at your restaurant. On that day, I was dining at this establishment when an unacceptable situation arose involving your manager. After I expressed my concerns about the rudeness of the bartender, he told me and my date to leave and never comeback.While I was leaving the restaurant, I asked for his name, the manager approached me and, without warning or justification, grabbed my phone out of my hand. (It is all on video). This was both an unwarranted and aggressive act, leaving me feeling deeply uncomfortable and disrespected. I reside in this neighborhood, and there were many people at the restaurant that knew me. I immediately contacted the authorities, and a police report has been filed regarding the incident. The police are currently investigating the matter. read more

The service was bad, 10 minutes for waiter to off water and take drink order. I spilled my drink, he came by and I asked for for towel. I finally brings some over and I had to clean it myself. Oh and I forgot to bring up the dirty plates and glasses when we sat down. The food was good, they did forgot to toast my English muffin, but it took 20 min to get the food so was not even going to say anything. We were trying to find a spot for a quick early dinner the other night and someone suggested we try Bennett's Westside grill. the word was that they had a great happy hour. We went in around a little after 4 in the afternoon and were seated immediately. The waiter quickly stopped by for any drink orders along with menu's. They have a special menu for happy hour with tiered price levels. Items along with adult beverages were tiered at $6, $9 & $12. We selected a few different items including a couple of orders from the $9 choices, the Short Rib Tacos, the Hoisin Glazed Ribs which were both outstanding choices. The Baked Brie from the $12 sips and tastes menu was also excellent. The sip's and tases menu also included a variety of cocktails and wine choices that we found quite satisfying. Looking at the dinner menu along with the weekly specials we saw several menu choices that we are looking forward to trying on our next visit. The service was excellent and as the afternoon progressed the restaurant started to fill up, which tells me that reservations are a good idea for our next visit. read more

I really wanted to try this place! I had a Sunday morning reservation, we were among the very first ones in the restaurant. We waited a very long time and not one visit from a server. Two other tables got seated, they at least got water--- we still waited. We finally left because we were clearly not going to get service. This restaurant opened last Thursday with no Grand Opening or fanfare! It is already getting attention. I had the Poke salad and it was delicious! We were there for brunch. The wife had Eggs Benedict and it looked yummy! The atmosphere is different than the Eureka location. It's darker but really classy. They do have a covered patio but it wasn't open. They also have a private room that's available. This is much better than the Chili's that was in the same location sharing a parking lot with Skipolini's. read more

We'll, I knew how good the original was because it's one of our favorites. So we tried the new 'West Side'! Party of 5 at 5:30pm. It was 5 Star right from the git go! Table ready, big comfortable booth, with stem ware in place. The building is Kris's and modern (we could have sat on the screened in patio) with good acoustics and HVAC! Jane, our server turned out to be one of our favorites from another place we like, so old home week. Food was great with no complaints from anyone (two who are difficult to please) and we tried everything from Mac&Cheese to Prime Rib (which was OUTSTANDING). Yes We made our reservations for four people at 2 o'clock and we arrived and checked in on time and were seated on the left side behind the entry area. We sit there often in the booths.We celebrated two birthdays and we had Annalise as our server and she was wonderful. The food is always delicious. The build out after it was Chevy is amazing. It's clean, open, and comfortable. Alot of accommodation seating people and won't feel stuffy . It was loud at lunchtime. Took forever to get service after being seated and then after being served dinner I didn't see the server again until well after I was finished eating. Dillan was exceptional at the bar! Prompt, on point, great conversationalist and perfect cocktail mixologist! Food was amazing! My only critique is the bloody mary mix. It's too sweet and bland. I would recommend something with better flavor and kick such as lefty Odouls or similar. If you go with scratch, I would love to assist in the blend! We ordered the fried chicken and bbq ribs family meal and it was awful. No flavor to the chicken it was just breaded. The mac and cheese was bland and had only a few bits of bacon tossed on top. The brussel sprouts were the only saving grace but they were so greasy. They shoved the waffle fries in a paper bag that got soaked through from the oil. For the prices you would expect a delicious meal and we had the complete opposite experience. Extremely disappointed considering it was our first time there. Not sure we'll return. read more

I gave a baby shower at Bennett's Westside Grill and was blown away by their outstanding service! The waitresses Annie and Hailey did an amazing job of keeping up with 34 lady's orders and needs. They had a very cheerful attitude which was so appreciated! Tom and Matt, the managers, were so helpful and accommodating with every request and last minute change that was made! I can't say enough about how pleased I was with the success of the shower! I would be remiss if I didn't mention the food. All of the ladies loved the meals they ordered! We organized a church party of over 40 people at Bennett's Westside Grill on Dec 7th. We had a party on the patio which was absolutely wonderful. We played Christmas music, had appetizers, then a buffet with salmon, beef and a chicken dish...all equally amazing! I would like to mention the good job provided from the awesome staff, Tick and Lauren. They were friendly and willing to help with whatever we needed. Also, a big shout out to the Manager, Tom P, who organized our party! We had two Christmas parties at this restaurant and it appears we will have our third party at Bennett's next year too. First, let me say that I don't like writing negative reviews. Typically, I write when I am excited and happy with the food and service. However, after this experience, I had no choice but to negatively review this place. We were so excited to try this new location and chose it above all others to celebrate three birthdays. Unfortunately, we were all very disappointed. The "one" star is for the ambiance (and our server); the place is beautiful, very comfortable and we loved the outside dining option and the bar area. The five of us were seated nicely at a very large booth which began our Friday night just right, or so we thought... until the food arrived. I ordered the fried chicken plate (I am a fried chicken connoisseur!). I took one bite and hated it. It had absolutely no flavor. All I tasted was the flour they used to roll it in. Another person in our party had ordered the French dip and, although it wasn't the worst, it was dry and didn't have any flavor that stood out. Another ordered the halibut plate, again ZERO flavor. Yet another ordered the meatloaf and that was very bland as well. My wife is a short rib connoisseur and, while it was the best of the meals, it just had no 'WOW' factor. Absolutely nothing stood out...it was like they didn't even try to impress. FIVE people eating at this extremely expensive establishment and NONE of us would come back. Why would anyone in their right mind come back and spend $200 for two people plus drinks which means we dropped a big $550 or more for dinner to eat mediocre food, at best, or didn't even like it at all. Extremely dissapointing.....please take the time to taste your own food! Invite the staff to try the food and be able to make comments/criticisms. This place has so much potential...you MUST do better!! read more

I have had a hit/miss with this location, but more hits than miss, and tonight was outstanding, so it definitely deserves a shout out. As a big fan of Paul Martins and knowing Susan/husband and Ed were involved in the Bennett's in Roseville, I was excited to have this location closer to my home in Lincoln. The first time in, they were still getting their feet wet. As a former restaurant owner, I know this happens, so I wasn't worried about it and since had good experiences. Then a few weeks ago, two gals were tending bar where I generally sit (with dark hair/pony tails) and service couldn't be worse .. they absolutely ignored clients, stood in front of their terminals staring at something and walking around aimlessly. Knowing this too happens on off night, I didn't want to make a fuss, and glad I didn't. Tonight there were two young men tending the bar with one lady (a different one from the previous experience), and the man who took care of us (Check #96642) was beyond epic, and did a phenomenal job with service, communication and professionalism (hope he makes manager at some point). We had the Prime Rib and split the dish as it's a ton of food for $39 and had the awesome Raspberry Martini's at the bargain $6/each for happy hour. We were stuffed full and for a reasonable price with top quality meat/sides that would rival a much higher end price for a Friday night dinner. I also loved that they had the games on (college football with Georgia and Georgia Tech and basketball) for those of us who appreciate sports, while allowing other the more intimate ambiance of the restaurant experience in the side dining areas. I recommend Bennett's Westside Grill and suggest if you have a "miss" experience, give them another shot as they are worth a second look. read more
