Wife and I enjoyed our visit here a few months ago I'm just now getting around to writing this review. They served the steak cut already which was a night touch after we were provided options to pick our cut of steak. Steak was prepared and seasoned exactly how we liked it and overall top notch experience. This place is a bit pricey though which caught us off guard. My husband and I made last-minute reservations on a Saturday night. When we got there, we were immediately greeted and taken to our table where the waiter, Tik, welcomed us and brought our drinks while we went over the menu. Tik had some great recommendations about the wine list and I was not disappointed. We ordered two appetizers, the artichoke spinach dip and the spicy Korean chicken skewers. Both delicious! The artichoke spinach dip was accompanied by homemade chips that complemented the dip, and the salad bed under the skewers was also very tasty! We decided to order the bone-in, dry-aged ribeye. One of the waiters brought out three different cuts that we were able to pick from, and we accompanied Brussels sprouts and the pound of fries! Needless to say we were NOT disappointed! The presentation was outstanding! The steak came out on a wooden tray surrounded by crusty bread drizzled with olive oil. It was cooked to perfection and so tender! We were not able to finish it because it was very big, but we definitely brought it home with us! We decided to try two of their desserts as well, the banana cream pie and the butter cake! I would recommend both to anyone!! I loved where we sat too..in a corner away from the crowd, which was perfect since we had our 9-month old son with us! All in all what a wonderful experience! I am a foodie. My wife and I eat out alot and love to try new places looking for a gem. I took my wife to lunch here and it was ehhh ok. Def nothing to rave about. The food was ok and the price was on par with the level of restaurant. The service was fine. I think the interior design is cramped and dark. After several dinners at the new Bennett's, I can wholeheartedly say it is a refreshing and very positive addition to our local dining options. Service is excellent, whether you just sit at the bar or have a table of 8. Extensive menu with lots of interesting choices. I especially enjoy the Trout. Cocktails are produced with precision and creativity, solid wine list. The Monday night Wine and Dine is a terrific bargain and includes fantastic options. No wonder it gets crowded on Mondays. They have a large private room and outside dining area, and the ambiance is very sophisticated, hard to believe it used to be Chevy's!! read more

Went here for the first time today and liked it, but there is room for improvement. I'd say 3.5 stars, but since the ambience was nice and service was great, I'll round up. We started with the trio dip and would not get it again. Not much flavor in any of the dips and the chips need salt. Two people in my party got the prime rib which was excellent. It came with choice of salad or soup, and a large portion of mashed potatoes. I ordered the short ribs. It comes with a large portion of mashed potatoes. The meat was very good, cooked well. Mashed potatoes we good but get tired off eating it after a while. It really needed a vegetable or salad. I'd prefer half the the potatoes and some green beans or asparagus. Or the option to add a reasonably priced salad - not one for $11. We shared the lemon creme brulee. It was ok but none of us really loved it. Wouldn't get it again. Server was excellent. read more

Once again 5 star dinner. The NY Strip my son ordered was phenomenal! He picked his choice of cut brought to the table. I've been her times now and is my wife and I favorite restaurant! Only thing I will say is, during this visit the Brussels sprouts dish came out cold. This restaurant is gorgeous! The service is fantastic! My only problem is the sort of lackluster flavor of the food and the presentation of each dish. From kids food to adult entrees there was no - how do you say- oomph. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. Some folks in our party had been for brunch and/or dinner once. The consensus was "not a place to have brunch". Now we may try it again for happy hour or dinner, but if the kitchen can't improve, we won't recommend the place or be back a third time. This is a mixed review. We made reservations with a note that we would be celebrating a birthday. We walked in and the first question was do you want the bar or the patio. I said neither. We were taken to a table in a high traffic area. I asked about the empty booths and the fellow that was seating us froze and looked confused. We ended up at the high traffic table. That poor opening really colors the rest of our evening. We didn't order appetizers. We ordered salad and salmon. Served quickly, the food was good. No mention that we were celebrating a birthday. Food was pretty yummy, and on ambiance was nice. I got the vegetarian mushroom burger (AMAZING btw), and my partner got the steak tacos. He said the steak was bland with a ton of iceberg lettuce. The spinach dip and fries were really good though. The only other downside was our server disappeared for about 20min or so at the end and we were just kind of waiting around for our check. I was so excited to see a Bennett's restaurant coming to this side of town. Tonight was my second night in. My first time I sat at the bar for drinks and appetizers. Tonight we sat for dinner with familyS. Both experiences have been fantastic with friendly service and great food and drinks. Tonight we got the steak and bacon tacos since we always loved them at the East Roseville location, I tried the steak and bacon taco bowl (lived this addition to the menu), and my daughter tried the the chicken tortilla soup. The server made odd "small talk" and then packaged up our leftovers by actually touching/grabbing the food to put into our boxes. I've been to the Bennett's next to Kaiser and had a great experience which is why I was so excited for this one to in Rocklin as it's MUCH closer to home. My husband's first time and he was WOWED! On Sunday Aug. 27th I attended the brunch service with my family and two other families. Considering this is a new restaurant and I have compassion for new businesses I want to be respectful but also factual. Our group received their orders with the exception of myself. I ordered the Mia Salad and wouldn't expect it to take longer to prepare than everything else so I inquired where my entree was. The server was pleasant and said she would check in it. After 5-10 minutes I hadn't received my food and another employee asked how everything was. I again asked about my food. The employee asked what I ordered and would check on it. Shortly after I was served the Mia Salad. I was surprised to find that the salad bowl was cold and there was a fork in the salad. (The fork was cold as well) I assumed it was premade and was kept refrigerated. By all means our service, food and time at Bennett's was pleasant. However, things changed that night when I came down with a case of food poisoning. For the following 36 hours I was extremely sick. I initially wasn't going to make this post because again I want small businesses to thrive and we were excited to have a new restaurant in our neighborhood however after seeing another review of food poisoning and later finding out that our friends family two weeks prior to my visit had 3 family members become sick with food poisoning. Clearly there is cross contamination or improper food preparation. Possibly only one employee. I don't know? I do think the owners and management need to review with their employees and possibly add food prep training/handling. So will I be back? Yes, I would like to give this place another shot, but will wait until the establishment has been open and running a bit longer because Bennett's does have positive attributes... Staff was friendly and we were seated quickly without a reservation. The food was the problem. My French dip was not great. The Au Ju was just a beef broth (not a lot of flavor) The horseradish cream sauce was not enough and barely had horseradish in it. I had to request a cup and even after smearing a ton on, I didn't get the yummy horseradish taste that I expect. (Eric's deli is much better) My friend order a cheeseburger with just meat, cheese, lettuce and bun. It came out all wrong. Cheese and lettuce on the side and everything else on the burger including the smear of "sauce" My daughter ordered chicken and ribs and she got a full plate of ribs and the BBQ sauce tastes like Wendy's BBQ sauce. The Cannelloni was okay but had a weird taste to it and was full of spinach. Our bill was well over $100 for mediocre food. I will not be coming back to this place as there are much better options in the area! read more

Food was mediocre, host was rude, our waiter was nice enough but lacked personality and wasn't very attentive mind you we dined in around 3:30pm and they were not busy, I could understand the lack of attention if they were slammed. The ambiance was just okay, nothing special for the $115 we spent. The French dip sandwich was really dry, my daughter enjoyed the kids French bread pizza, and the tortilla soup was ok. We eat out a lot and I can't say I would return. The service from the start turned me off, the host is the first impression. The last restaurant in this location didn't make it I hope that's not their destiny. I would recommend working on customer service! read more
