Wings were dry. Service was slow. Birthday promotion wasn't much of savings. Seemed high priced. Won't go back.

We went to Bentley's to celebrate a birthday since they began their birthday free wings special. The staff was attentive and the bar has a nice pub like feel. However the wings served were abysmal at best. They were old and dry. Not what I expected at all since I have gone to the Rusty nail for the same special and they were delicious. I realize that all restaurants are struggling due to Covid but if you are going to serve subpar food because of the birthday deal then don't offer it. People will understand. We ordered takeout from here. It was very prompt and was ready when it said it would be. We ordered a burger and buffalo chicken wrap with tots as a side for one and tavern fries for the other. The burger was delicious, didn't care for the wrap as much, chicken didn't seem like it was tossed in wing sauce at all. We will be back though and are interested in eating in. Been here a few times. Burgers are very good -- hard sear on the outside with a juicy inside. Good tasting (and reasonably healthy) salad available (raspberry vinaigrette with grilled chicken). Delicious sweet potato fries. Reuben is probably my favorite entree, with a very judicious use of thousand island. Service is good, prices are higher than your usual burger joint but the food is better too. Sometimes I need to eat lunch early but they open at 11:30AM. Lots of TVs and the bar dominates the restaurant, so probably a fun place to watch a game but I've never gone in the evening. read more

Went there for a birthday dinner, the only thing I was disappointed with was the wings. I ordered boneless wings: one mild, one garlic Parm, and they were both so bland and tasteless it was really disappointing and it wasn't even my birthday. Yeah the garlic Parm had some garlic flavor but that was pretty much it. It was so tasteless. The rest of the food came out okay. We made a reservation well in advance and was seated in the bar area. It was so noisy we asked the hostess if we could move to the back and she rudely said "well its a Saturday night, we're busy" even though the ppl sitting behind us asked to move and they were, without hesitation. I want to like this place, really, I do. It's walking distance to my house, and on the outside it SHOULD be great, but it's just, well, not. Just went here for my 21st my grandfather's 71st and my boyfriend's dads 56th, we had 14 people in our party. The service was great considering having 14 people, the wings are great and the birthday drink specials are a nice addition to the free wings. I rarely leave poor reviews for restaurants. I love supporting local businesses and finding new great places to eat. This place was not good. Not good at all. Waitresses were nice but...The nachos were covered in lettuce. My husband ordered mac and cheese which was a glob of cheese and oil - no joke. My friend ordered the meat loaf. He's never had meat loaf at a restaurant before. And he never will. I ordered the shepherds pie which was a bowl of ground beef. We were so disappointed and left spending $35 each for meals none of us ate. I hope they get a new head chef. read more

Horrible....don't go.....we were planning on going to the rusty nail for my friends birthday but due to weather decided to go to bentlys instead. Upon arriving the staff was rude. We were told they don't participate in the bday wing special even though it's advertised on the times union website. Keeping positive we stayed and ordered two orders of bottomless wings (Thursday night special) along w bang bang shrimp, pitchers of beer, buffalo Chicken salad and dessert. The manager was EXTREMELY RUDE and came to our table to discipline us for sharing the wings. We apologized. I asked for a glass of water 3 times (since I was being DD) and it never came. Once we got the check (gave our credit card and paid) the manger came back over and tell us she added an additional $5 because she watched us eat and saw me take some wings off my sisters plate. Are you kidding me? We didn't even get an acknowledgment of a happy birthday for my friend and were treated like second class citizens. I would never step foot in this establishment again. If you arent a regular your basically ignored. When we walked in the woman bartender was very nice and attentive. When she left we had a heavyset man who ignored us and was downright rude. He didnt deserve anytip he took the check and cash and said nothing. I have never encountered such a rude man. I did notice he was friendly to regulars. My husband and I come to Bentleys a few times a month. Its close to our home which there is not much near us and has a comfortable setting. Food is great but staff usually are not very welcoming. The male bartenders are usually less than friendly. The past two times we have gone we had Lisa as our waitress and I mean it when I say she is an AMAZING waitress. She is extremely friendly and very attentive even when she was extremely busy, also she remember all of our orders! She is the reason why we will look forward to our next visit! Spent a few weeks around Malta for work and ate here many times. Food is much better than I expected for a pub. By far the best place around to eat- better than many of the restaurants at Saratoga Springs (tried most of them). Food and beers are also reasonably priced. Went there on March 15 for my birthday and i thought the food was absolutely terrible, I had a sour dough roast beef sandwich with fries and chicken wings, the wings were okay, but the bread was dry with no flavor the roast beef was dry and overcooked, the french fries had skin on them and spots where the bad spots in the potato were not cut out, the decaf coffee was horrible. my brother-in-law could not eat his hamburger and fries. I have eaten here once late on a Friday night, and I ordered the Shepherd's Pie, (Made with Beef, not Lamb.) Should be called Cottage Pie. To me, that is like ordering a Rueben, and it being made with ground beef and not corn beef. The Cottage Pie was delicious, I really enjoyed it. The friends I went with, ordered other things on the menu, I don't remember what they ordered, but I do remember them both being pleased with what they ate. The atmosphere is pleasant. Awful experience at Bentley's. Will NOT be returning. From the start, the hostess was completely rude and miserable. We had a larger party (13 ppl) to celebrate a birthday so we were told we could only have 8 at a table, which was completely fine! We were totally fine with being a two separate tables, but we had figured they would at least be near each other. Well, the miserable hostess brought us back to our tables, and they were at opposite ends of the room with a large table in between us blocked off because of "covid". They told us that we had to be 6 feet apart........Meanwhile, every other table in the large room in the back was full and NOT 6 feet apart, but had a little flimsy plastic in between each one (so protective right?) SO they separated our party even though many of us LIVE TOGETHER yet allowed random people to be 2 feet apart from one another with a stupid plastic thing in between them with space on both sides. The thing had to be about 4 feet wide MAX. THEN IT GETS BETTER!!!!! When we were asking the waitress why we could not be near each other and sit at the table they had blocked off for "social distancing", she went off explaining that they have to follow protocol........They told us they were at 50% capacity but THE ENTIRE BAR WAS FULL and every table besides ONE was taken throughout the entire restaurant. Oh let me add, the flimsy plastic was at the bar too so they think they are being "safe". Are people stupid?????? Beyond crowded yet demanded to split our party up and put us on other ends of the room. I wish I got a photo of this restaurant. Definitely not following capacity rules but they are sure to follow social distancing rules within the same party!! Icing on the cake (quite literally), they did not let us bring in a birthday cake because of "covid". Can someone explain that one to me? You sure let us sit there and eat almost $400 worth of your food, but we cant celebrate a birthday with a freakin cake? Does covid only spread when you eat birthday cake???? WOW.
