    Chicken Teriyaki

Alex's graduation is this weekend and with family coming up we have to have my famous French toast and there's no better bread that the Milk Bread from JW's Bakery. This stuff is pillowy and just heaven in your piehole. I would love to learn to make it. It's so amazing. I did treat myself to some teriyaki chicken. If you're like me the first couple trips to JW's was all about the baked goodies; but, let me tell you their Chicken Teriyaki is literally the best I've ever had. It's not a soupy overly sweet hot mess that most places serve up. It is tender pieces of chicken that has just enough sauce to dip your rice into. Small but mighty!!!!......so full that flavor. I'll always be a forever fan of JW's.

The turkey ham panini was made to order and very tasty. If you need a strong pick me up the Tiramisu latte is for you (not really for the sweet coffee lovers) . They also had dairy free milk option. Friendly service nice area to meet with friends .

The pastry was absolutely fire! And, the service was very lovely as well. Glad I didn't go to Starbucks this morning. It got a tad busy for a business call but it is the day before Thanksgiving.

Hidden in the Terra Crossing shopping center, this is an excellent local coffee shop and bakery. They serve up strong caffeinated beverages and a wide variety of house-made desserts. All are tasty, but the star of the shop is the tiramisu. Chef Edward Lee once called it "one of the best foods in Louisville" and I might agree with him. It sells out fast so you have to get a bit lucky, but there are plenty of other great options to try. Highly recommended this well run, cozy, local spot.

Just moved to the area and was so happy to find this spot! They have a wide selection of fresh pastries and coffee drinks--everything I've tried so far has been great. The customer service was welcoming, and the atmosphere feels cozy and inviting. It's quickly become one of my favorite places to stop by in the morning or for an afternoon treat. Highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area!

Awake early and with some time to consume before I could visit the nearby Mercedes dealership, JW Cafe to the rescue. This is a comfy coffee ship that also has a huge spread of delicious baked goods and as near as I can tell, they're all baked on site. Croissants, rolls, muffins, danishes, cookies and more. It's times like this that I somewhat regret my keto diet! So instead of all of that deliciousness, I got a great cup of coffee. Ethiopian hand pour that was amazing. Rich coffee with great flavor and I opted to enjoy it without cream. JW Cafe has a few tables and two comfy sofas. I sat here for close to an hour recharging my laptop and writing Yelp reviews on their wifi. Great stuff! [Review 17018 overall - 141 in Kentucky - 534 of 2022.]

Fabulous local coffee shop with delcious pastires. I wished I lived closer and this would be an every day stop!

    Teriyaki chicken and mango smoothie

After a hot yoga class our group walked over to have a drink and some bites at JW Cafe. It wasn't busy, however our party of 11 brought in some business for the cafe. We ordered mango smoothies, strawberry smoothies, teriyaki chicken with rice, bibimbap rice bowl, turkey panini, Korean sushi and strawberry lemonades. Everyone thought they're orders were tasty. The teriyaki chicken was good. It was supposed to come with cabbage, however there were only a minuscule amount. I also wish I had asked them to remove the mayo. I thought that texture was gross. My mango smoothie was perfection and actually tasted like mango, which I liked. The atmosphere was chill and there was plenty of seating even though the cafe isn't huge. Nothing was so impressive for any of us to return, however it was perfect being next to our yoga class.

The baked goods were mediocre. The coffee was cold and lacked flavor. I don't think I will be going back.

Because it was bigger than my head (ok, maybe this is a slight exaggeration but not by much) i had to disassemble it to eat it in stages. First off were the waffle fries and I found them to be tasty, crunch and fluffy in all the right spots. Once the taters were off I cut that biggie baby in 8 'Oh My Danwich' slices. Y'all, I rarely find myself at a loss for words, even my high dollar, 10 letter ones, but I can't fill this space with all the adjectives I would want in describing this sanwich that would make you want breakfast for every meal. The sausage had that savory salty pork taste that makes you happy you're not a vegetarian with an egg slice that was fluffier than my German Shepherd's downy fur. The cheese even had a nice pull with the topper being their chive aioli. And that sandwich was just the beginning because I also ordered a Strawberry Cruffin, Bourbon Peach hand pie and a raspberry Danish to have as late night snacks. The handpie didn't do it for me. The peaches lacked flavor that I found myself asking bestie if she wanted it because I was jiat going to toss in the trash after just 2 bites. The strawberry mascarpone cream in the cruffin was silky smooth and berrylicious with the croissant being flaky and fluffy. It was almost like a sweet and savory after school snack. The kind of bakery item that keeps you coming back for more. And more. And the piece de resistance was the raspberry Danish. I've lived my 61 years learning to never turn down raspberry anything and today, my raspberry research paid off. One hundred percent tenfold. Even though the glaze drizzle was super sweet, the flaky danish offset it with that light crunch but fluffy innards. Y'all, with each bite I just fell more in love. The Danish was so good that when I came to my last bite not only was I sad that it would soon be gone but I wanted to cry. Cry y'all. Over a Danish! Yes, do it. You only live once. Order the Danwich & the Danish. You won't be sorry. You can pay me in Butchertown gift cards. Or Bourbon. Hubby's brother lives across the Ohio so, next time he goes to visit them I'm going with him. Just so I can drive over here and try their lunch items and grab more danishes. The folks were super friendly, the place both clean and quiet. Which, kinda surprised me because the food is so good I couldn't understand why there weren't lines around the block. That changed the longer we dined in as folks just started roaming in. I said to my friend that the Louisville folk must get started late in the day.

The amount of variety on the menu was pretty nice, looks like there's something here for most people. I had the Cobb Salad and was happy with the amount of colorful vegetables and toppings on my plate. It comes with mixed greens (glad to see more salads with mixed greens instead of romaine), roasted chicken, nice crispy bacon, a hardboiled egg, blue cheese, black olives, tomato, avocado and a good amount of dressing. It tastes very fresh and is a decent portion size, but in terms of flavor there wasn't much going on. It tastes like "greens" and that's kinda it. I don't know what the cause is, like it's seasoned but I just didn't get much flavor. Perhaps my pallet prefers stronger flavors over lighter ones, so take this with a grain of salt (figuratively, or maybe literally). If you're in the area, check em out.
