I went to Marikami Thai & Sushi for lunch with a couple of friends. When we arrived we discovered that there were no booths for sitting, just tables and a bar. The place was small with a tranquil atmosphere. Our server was super friendly, nice, and knowledgeable about the menu. First, we all shared the Steamed Shrimp Shumai, which was pretty tasty. We all ordered from their lunch menu. I ordered 2 sushi rolls: the Japanese Bagel roll and the Mexican roll, accompanied by a house salad for my side with my lunch special. Everything was very tasty. A mixed bag tonight but on the overall, good. Mom likes udon noodles and they're hard to find in Southwest Florida, so this was a nice stop. She enjoyed the soup and pronounced it good. A nice portion with chicken and vegetables. I chose the veggie summer rolls to start. Delicious in the paper and with the peanut sauce. Two large rolls cut in half were tasty. For main, I had some noodle curry dish that was tasty but not at all spicy. It definitely needed more "go" to it and more chicken. Service was good. Restaurant was not really a "date" place - they're really packing the tables in and it was busy tonight. Stopped her had some sushi my friend had steak hibachi. The sushi was good and he really liked his food. The Ambiance is casual basic tables and chairs. It was empty except for a lot of workers which seemed a little odd for such a small place, maybe they really get busy at some point in the day. We did go a little before diner time. Bathrooms were clean so that's usually good sign on Resturant cleanliness. I would try it again if in the area. read more

This family operated Sushi Thai restaurant is located in the Cross Road Public Shopping Mall off SR82 and Colonial Blvd. I walked in for an early lunch and the staff is friendly and service is prompt! I ordered a Sushi lunch with, Spicy Tuna, Eel with cucumber and Mexican rolls. I opted with a Miso soup instead of a salad. The soup was tasty and flavorful. Normally, I have a sake or a cold beer but today, I just enjoy a sweet tea instead. The ingredients are fresh and the sushi rolls are well prepared. I never have a sushi roll that I don't like! The Mexican roll with tempura shrimp, avocado, cream cheese, spicy mayo and eel sauce is very impressive! Beside sushi they featured Thai food and Hibachi as well. The ambiance is causal and situated next to Publix. This is not a up scale fine dining facility but the food is amazing! I am not impressed at all, especially for the price. The Krab Rangoons were a joke! There was no cream cheese inside and they were SO SMALL- I was also really annoyed to have ordered the Fresh Spring Rolls and not receive any Peanut Sauce with them which is not as advertised and when I asked for Peanut Sauce they said they didn't have any. What kind of Thai Restaurant doesn't have Peanut sauce? The portions of our dinners were small but the fried rice was good even though they charged an extra $2.50 to add vegetables in the fried rice. Edit: I think it's safe to assume that any cream cheese inside of a Krab Ragoon would be mixed in with the Krab. I am making a point to say that if there is cream cheese inside the Krab Ragoon then you can't taste it which defeats the purpose and also comes off as very cheap when you also take the size of the Krab Ragoons into account. Also, I did ask for another sauce for my Fresh Spring Rolls and I was just HEAVILY encouraged to try the sauce that it came with (which was watery and gross). I can see pictures posted in your reviews of dishes that are served with peanut sauce, is there a reason I couldn't get any with my Fresh Spring Rolls? read more

Overall, solid neighborhood sushi spot. We've tried a few dishes here for dine in and takeout and we're always happy. However, the Daniels Preserve roll is EXCELLENT. It's a cooked roll, and only for those who like complex rolls with a lot of flavors and textures (if you are a purist and like simple nigiri, this isn't for you). Marikami used to be awesome when they first opened. We frequented them at least once a week. While the food is still good, the customer service has worsened significantly and they are extremely overpriced. Although I can deal with the snarky service, we unfortunately consistently take our business elsewhere as to not be taken for a complete ride at Marikami. I'm willing to pay high prices when the quality warrants it, but that's just not the case here. How are you going to charge for sauce (despite the already over-priced and poorly rolled sushi) and not even fill the containers all the way? And if their excuse for high prices is high quality ingredients, let's not forget when the health department shut them down a couple years ago. We used to love this place, but it's just such a rip-off. Sad. Edit: please see below for the owner's reply to this review for a first-hand example of their snarky service. It's a classic chicken & egg scenario. Perhaps that explains our neglect to tip. Also-- my apologies! What they got shut down for was selling alcohol to minors. My husband and I just had a delightful dinner at this restaurant, Marikami. I was in the mood for Thai. We went inside to a feeling that neighbors of all ages gathered to eat good food, socialize, and catch some unobtrusive TV if they wanted to. (They had a basketball game, a game show, and a news magazine-type show on, plus one more set with a different program I didn't catch, but I liked the variety). It was lively but relaxing, and a server came immediately after we sat down to take our drink order. When the beverages arrived, I ordered a vegetable stir-fried red curry, which came with a *delicious* crunchy salad of iceberg lettuce with thin curls of cabbage and carrots topped off with a terrific ginger dressing. The curry was -and IS STILL- fantastic because I brought home half of my huge portion, which was served with sticky rice. My husband said his chicken fried rice was delicious. His plate was garnished with fresh cucumbers, an orange slice, curled cabbage slivers, and a sprig of cilantro. I have to say all the delicious produce made the most significant impression. The young adults sharing sushi at the next table were having a great time, and their sushi rolls looked terrific, too. I look forward to returning to Marikami and feel proud to have such a great family restaurant in my Lehigh Acres neighborhood! Next time I'll get photos of the beautiful dishes they serve. read more

Checked this spot out last night. Recently moved from 33912 to 33974 and this area has 125k residents, yet hardly any restaurants. It's in a strip mall and decorated with a variety of wall items. We had a couple sushi rolls, a Tom Yum soup and chicken masaman curry. Our waitress was sweet and checked in often. Although the timing of our entrees was oddly separate, that wasn't on her. Everything seemed fresh in all dishes and we'd visit again, but probably for takeaway. It's a loud, family setting which isn't quite our vibe. read more

I came here for a work meeting lunch. Service was pretty good here. I opted for the sashimi lunch which was pretty well priced. I was hoping the bowl of rice that accompanied the meal would be sushi rice but it was regular long grain rice. Not a big deal killer but a bit strange. The sashimi, especially the white fish, had a bit of a strange taste to it. Maybe I had a bad batch the time I visited but it didn't taste right to me, thankfully, I did not get sick but will probably opt for a cooked dish next time, if I am in the area again. read more

I had super high hopes for this lovely little restaurant. The location is OK, it is a mall setting with a Publix, but most are these days. The interior was pretty good, there was no big negative. The food was good, however the overwhelming opinion that the three of us all couldn't get past was the saltiness of every item. Pho, Laab, ginger dressing on salads, all were super salty. I'm not sure if this was a one off issue or if they just over salt the items, but you may wish to be aware of this. read more

I am obsessed with this place! I only came in to try one day with my husband as we visit the plaza often for grocery shopping. During my pregnancy all I craved was sushi, I have tried many other places in the area and literally nothing compares to this! Funny story, I was going into labor on a Saturday morning and I ended up having to make a stop to Marikami for my sushi rolls before heading to the hospital! Everything is made fresh and the fried rolls which are my favorite are always on point. I was finding myself going almost every week if not more, all the soups are delicious as well so full of flavor and very generous portions. My toddler who is a picky eater at home will eat just about anything from their menu. Also something random to add: for my birthday this year my husband told me to pick anywhere no matter how expensive and I picked here to eat! Ugh amazing each time. I once was there and a group of about 14 people came in and they were quickly sat and accommodated their food came out in a timely manner. I love how the staff didn't roll their eyes or give them a hard time it was amazing to see. I will always recommend this place! I ended up cooking us an omelette at home. Please trust me if you have any idea of what quality Thai or sushi should be then you should avoid this place. The chicken pad Thai was not edible. The sprouts smelled like wet sneakers and the chicken was cold and dry and tasteless and mealy. The salad was brown and rotten just a hunk or brown lettuce nothing else no tomato or anything not that it mattered. We ordered ordered 6 different rolls, papaya salad, spring rolls, miso soup, Chicken Pad Sew (sp?) and a pot of green tea. The water needs to be filtered, tasted like metal pipes, gross. Okay, my honest food review and I hope this helps because I want the place to do well. The rice tasted flat and a bit gummy, little too much on the rolls. They were well executed but lacked flavor, just average. Could easily correct this with drizzles and sprinkles and fix the rice issue. Papaya Salad, no peanuts, bits of dried shrimp... lacked flavor-levels, But could also be fixed by following a basic recipe. This Salad is finicky so I appreciate the effort. Spring Rolls, Gyoza we're okay, could have (again) stepped up presentation, a few sprinkles of surprise. Salad with ginger dressing and Miso Soup, nailed it on flavor. Although Miso was not the nutritional profile kind ( quality tofu), missing pork sliver, green onion...the flavor was in balanced. All of the things I mentioned could boost your ratings. Bottom line, would I go back? No, because I don't go for average. Will I try again in future? Depends if they make these changes or not. The rice is a big deal. Price? Decent!! read more
