Dr. Miller has been my ophthalmologist for several years. He is very kind and is an excellent eye doctor. He takes time to listen to my concerns and patiently explains my options. Dr McCauley recently performed cataract surgery and my results far exceeded my expectations. He is very caring and even prayed with me before my surgery. Excellent experience. The staff there is taking every precaution to avoid too many people and social distancing as well as cleaning surfaces very regularly. They sat folks with good distance between us and wiped down the counter and payment/sigin/signature pad after each person used it. Was at my bank decided to stop in and see if it was appointment only the two older women at the front desk were not so nice and I'm usually judged by my appearance cuz of all my tattoos but I'm a nice ass person and for the looks I got and the short yes answer with some attitude I got and then wasn't asked if I wanted to even make an appointment I walked right out and left, I'll take my business elsewhere! read more

I really thought I was coming to an amazing company, however this company has really let me down. I had an appointment in July and it was for my daughters check up and to order for contacts which she has never had before. I thought they ordered the contacts because they told me they were going to order them and call when her prescription comes in and to get her fitted. I called in August after 8 weeks of the time the contacts were suppose to be delivered and they did not order them. Someone who I spoke to said they forgot to order them and thought they gave me a sample that day. I understood that they didn't have her prescription and had to order them so they will call me when they come in. We are in September now and her glasses broke so I contacted the store and they told me they can try to get her glasses re ordered because it is covered under warranty from last year in October. I have been waiting a week and no call with an update. I have been trying to call and no answer, I have been on hold for more than 30 mins and still no answer. Very disappointed. My daughter who is 14 yrs old and is doing online classes can not see her computer. Wish someone can call me back with some information or to get me a trial sample asap. read more

I went for my annual eye exam and had the best experience. Once I arrived, I was greeted and asked to fill out a few forms. The forms were straight to the point and easy to fill out. After I filled out the paperwork and waited a max of five minuets before I was taken back. The woman who saw me before the doctor was amazing. She made me feel very comfortable and I could tell she knew exactly what she was doing. I've visited other offices in the past and during the reading test have heard giggles or been told unprofessional comments when I couldn't see the tiny letters at the bottom. but that didn't happen here. I was commended when I could see and was directed to easier lines to see when she noticed that I was having a difficult time. Dr. Gloyd (at Champions) is the most amazing doctor you can hope to have. He was very kind and explained every thing to me in detail. He was quick but didn't rush. I felt comfortable in asking him questions and he never seemed like I was burdening him. Once it was time for me to select new glasses, the woman (I think her name was Ashley) was very kind. She showed me glasses that she thought would fit my face shape and complement my style, she was also very stylish so I knew I was in good hands. She then helped me see what pair of frames would best fit my budget after I chose my three favorite. If I had to have an eye exam more than once a year, that would be just fine with me. They are wonderful and I can not say enough wonderful things about them, I truly cant. I would recommend this location to anyone in a split second. read more

I stopped by here to use my frame benefit through VSP on a pair of sunglasses. VSP offers the benefit to LASIK patients every two years. I've done it twice before since my LASIK procedure; once with my LASIK office (Mann Eye) and again at my current vision care office. I just happen to stop at Berkeley since they came up on my search for VSP providers near my office. I was introduced to Judy and explained why I stopped in. She kept saying that she would have to verify my sunglass benefit. I told her I understand but also mentioned that I've used this benefit in the past, just an FYI. She said she would still need to verify. Which I reiterated that I already understood. I explained that I was not trying to convince her but just wanted to let her know. She replied with "You wouldn't be able to convince me since it is my job to verify." I don't know what I could have possibly have done to be treated and spoken to this way. I was there on my lunch hour, dressed in a suit and carried myself in a professional manner as always. I had no issue with her verifying but she was determined to make me feel unwelcome. I thanked her and walked out. I will not ever recommend this office to friends when they ask about my LASIK. read more

I had my first visit to Berkeley Eye Center - Champions location today. First off, the customer service was outstanding. I received one call reminder in advance of the visit and then, once I arrived, the entire reception staff was friendly and efficient. Wait time was at a minimum. My appointment was with Dr. Gloyd who was extremely friendly, very professional and answered each and every question I had. Dr. Gloyd was very attentive and I never felt he was trying to rush and be elsewhere. In terms of attentiveness and customer service, the real stars were Beverly (Dr. Gloyd's assistant) and Ashley Hall, Berkeley's Optician. Both couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. I have found our family's Eye Center moving forward. Simply a great experience. I would recommend to anyone. read more

I have been going here for like 20 years to see Dr. Reid. We can to this years appointment and was told he has moved on, another Doctor examined us and our favorite eyewear lady (Ms. Cursie) had left. She was the business. First, I don't like being given a Doctor I do not choose and VET. Where did this African American man go to college, what is his experience. Lastly, the whole office is in turmoil over a lady named Ms. Barb now running the show. We were in there and 6 customers were asking for their medical records to move to another Doctor. I have been trying to move to another Doctor since then but this lady has my records blocked I'm told until I speak to her directly. I will soon be filing a complaint with Austin, Texas to release my records to another Doctor of my choosing. Dr Reid and Cursie were awesome in the past. read more

This was my very first time ever visiting a eye doctor. All the staff was very welcoming. Dr. Gloyd was very patient with me, I did not feel rushed and he made me feel very comfortable. He is very knowledgeable and patient and I like the fact that he gave me options regarding my eye scripts for both glasses and/or contacts.
