I've been going to Berry's 20+ years starting when they were in the Safeway shopping center in Prescott Valley. Their food and pies are excellent. The current location on Sheldon Street is "rustic," small, hard to get a seat. My suggestion would be that a fresh coat of paint inside would do wonders. The bathroom is pretty bad. Makes you wonder how bad the places are where customers can't go. Cleanliness should be of the highest priority in a restaurant. I will continue to go back because I love their food; not impressed at the cleanliness. read more

Went in this morning to get breakfast, my breakfast was fine but my son ordered the ham & cheese omelette & when he tasted it he said it tasted funny so he had me taste it a couple of times as it was a little burnt & thought that might be the issue, by the third bite, there was a definite off taste, like bad cheese, rancid oil or butter. Spoke to waitress, very nice & she offered to replace with a lunch item, but he didn't want anything. Meanwhile we left and went on about our business, then I started not feeling well & hurried home in time to empty the contents of my stomach. I asked my son to give them a courtesy call as to check their oil, butter & cheese. When he called, he was told that they had eaten the omelette & it tasted fine & he had bad taste buds or was already sick when we went there for breakfast. Who does that? All they had to say was thank you for the information. I've been going there for years & have enjoyed my meals. Was looking for a new breakfast spot and decided to give Berry's a try. Guess our timing was good as we got seated right away. Waitress welcomed us and took our coffee order. I ordered the ham & cheese omelet and was very happy with my selection. Even got my choice of cheese instead of just cheddar. The cheese is melted over the omelet and I thought it was gravy at first. I called the Saturday before Father's Day to pick up hubby's favorite pie. They were sold out by 11a.m. First clue. Then the person who answered asked if I wanted to place an order for pick up on Sunday! Awesome! Second fabulous clue! Brought home a warm pie on Sunday. Banana cream with the most delicate merengue we've ever had. Mind you, this flavor is only my husband's favorite but everyone thought this pie was outstanding! This place continues to be delightful it is very small, like someone invited you to their gourmet cabin for a meal. The food and the service are sensational. We've been back to Berry's Pie Pantry a couple of times now and we agree that they have excellent pie! The cherry pie is my favorite but we have also tried the lemon meringue which was wonderful, the sour cream apple tasty tart and tangy all at once. The custard pie that was creamy and tasty, and the German chocolate pie is chocolaty, coconut heaven. The key to great pie is of course great crust, and the folks at Berry's have got crust down pat! Flaky yet tender, strong yet delicate and is done until it is golden brown and delicious with a hint of buttery wonderfulness! It is the center piece of the pie experience and contributes to your full enjoyment of a great dessert. But Berry's is more than just pie! We have had some wonderful (and big) sandwiches for lunch there as well and were very pleased with what they offered. I had a Chili-Size the last time we were there and it was definitely a meal sized burger. Served open faced and covered in homemade chili it was definitely satisfying. I would have liked more heat in the chili myself, but I know that most don't so Berry's strikes a good compromise there. The wait staff are super friendly, our waitress Michelle had us all laughing and feeling like we were neighbors in no time at all. The atmosphere is country cozy, and believe me when I say cozy. This place is even smaller than Matt's Big Breakfast in Phoenix. But what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in taste. Pricing is about average and lunch for two with pie ran us about $25. Whole pie prices are high than say at some place like Marie Calendar's but the difference is that at Berry's they make their pies fresh every day from scratch. No factory made, frozen-then-thawed pies here, no sir! Go on up to Prescott and check out Berry's, it's worth the drive! read more

Attentive, warm & friendly staff. Clean, small - only 9 tables. You have to try the pulled pork sandwich! It is sweet and delicious and comes with a scoop of cole slaw on top of the pork. It is MUCH, MUCH better than what we had last week at The Shed in Destin! Potato salad was tangy and quite delicious as well. The veggie sandwich was good but not great - avocado, sprouts, lettuce, tomato with toasted almonds on top. Of course we HAD TO try their pie!! The German Chocolate pie was light and creamy. The chocolate tasted like jello pudding with shredded coconut and a layer of chocolate on the bottom. It was good but not great (the German Chocolate cake at the Donut Hole is MUCH better). We had a wonderful breakfast of perfectly cooked over easy eggs, tasty biscuits and gravy and crispy hashbrowns. It was affordable, and the service was o.k. It's a small little place with a charming ambience. I didn't feel the place was dated like some reviews have stated. We also got two pieces of pie to go. A chocolate cream and banana creme. I was surprised to see homemade meringue as a topping on both. I would have rather had real whipped cream but the meringue was a step up from some bought cool whip or the like. I wasn't planning on getting breakfast today until I saw the bunny rabbit. And so, I did a u-turn. First of all, you always know that it's going to be a good experience when you are greeted by staff with enthusiastic and infectious smiles. The coffee was, and always is, fresh. I ordered the Southwestern oven baked omelette, a side of hash browns and flannel cake. The omelette was ethereal! So glad I did that u-turn. It was served shaped like a mini meatloaf and it had onions, sausage and green chiles. Cheese was used to make a really good crusted topping to make it even better. Regretfully, I couldn't finish the flannel cake, but I enjoyed it so much. So did my best friend Tobi, who I had to leave in the car. I failed to ask the names of the wonderful ladies working there, but they and their regulars know who they are. Their service and attention to detail was perfect. This place is small, probably good for only a dozen or so people at a time. And, they are only open until 1400. So, if you were visiting the area, you must come early, enjoy the great food and the fervent service, and the flawless hospitality. The people who don't think this place is good, that only gives more room to those of us who enjoy this nice, little place. They do have a drive-thru window, too. Holy Moly! Saw this cute little place and had to visit! We arrived too late for lunch so we got a sandwich. I got the pulled pork bbq sandwich and my husband got roast beef with peppers. What an adorable little bakery. The service is amazing and friendly. The food is fast & delicious. I've visited a few times and I always order something different. But I do notice a few locals who are very dedicated to this fine establishment. I love the smell of the pies baking in the back. I can't talk about much on the Menu, except everything going by us looked great! We were there specifically for the PIE. We don't eat many desserts so they need to be really good when we do. They were out of their Berry Pie, so we had Cherry, warmed with ice cream. It was the best I've ever had, outside of my Mom's cherry cobbler, which she always made on my birthday instead of cake.
