I called Bert's to see if they could match the quote I saw on the Temecula Motorsports (TMS)website for a rzr xp4 1000. The salesman said he could make it happen. I went in there to meet "Danny" which turned out to be a fake name, probably code for internet customer or something and they set me up with two young guys to make the deal. Anyway their sticker price was $2000 higher than TMS but again the salesman said he would work it out in the "out the door" price. I have been buying cars and bikes for years and I know where this was going, but I let them run the credit anyway. The guys come back with a quote of $26k out the door. I tell that's 25% more than the sticker price and it ridiculous. They bring the "manager" over and try to sweet talk me, but I am walking out the door. They keep trying to tell me they are the best and most competitive" but can't seem to tell my why they can't meet TMS's price or what there price is based on. Bottom line is I got the hell out of there. The worst part is they called me back three different times to try to get me back in. Nothing like used car salesmen sleaze tactics to piss me off! I ended up buying the rzr at TMS at $4,000 less than what the sharks at Bert were selling. If you like BS and paying way too much to support their ginormous shop, then by all means go to Bert's. During the time of COVID-19 it came be easy to be dismissive and forget that everyone is a human being; this was not the case with Lina. Although she normally doesn't work on the customer service side (she's helping out with sales due to the current world situation), she handled my case with finesse and patience. I'm a returning rider after a brief hiatus, so there's a lot of knowledge I needed a refresher on. Biggest headache of my life! Went in with my own financing and thought I was going to be in and out it a few hours at most. I arrived as soon as they opened for a appointment with a sales rep. I new exactly what I wanted and in a matter of 30 min we settled on a final price. As I went to get my cashier check for the amount we agreed on, I was told they would get the bike ready for me. An hour goes by as they figure out issues with the cashiers check as it was dated ahead of time because it was a holiday weekend. They tell me to wait as they figure the issue out, but they assure me the bike is "almost" ready for me. I walk over to the pick up station when they tell me it's ready and I give the gentleman my information. When I arrive to this man is when he is the one who tells me that they crossed the vins with another scooter and it was incorrect. So I had to wait for the paper work to get recorrected, which took who knows how long... They finally figure it all out I'm excited I'm ready to leave and I'm getting the run around about the bike showing me the signals, horn, lights and what not. After all that he wanted to check the vin on the scooter to make sure that it matched my paperwork, it didn't... They ended up getting the wrong scooter ready. At this point I'm really just getting agitated. I was just ready to leave it's already 4pm and I've been their since opening. I had to wait for them to get the proper scooter for me. They had to do a full inspection on it so you guess how long that took. My friend had enough time to go home and go get his bike and come back. Finally I get the bike and drive off damn near close to closing... silly of me to think that that was the end of it all. Months later I get multiple phone calls from a spam number that I eventually answer and it's Burtz, telling me that they sent they wrong title to my financier. At this point honestly I just laughed. When your salesperson promises do to what they say, you need to follow up with them to save the frustation. When I made my purchase the salesperson said they'd promise to take care of what was needed when I pick up. When I picked up my purchase, there was nothing done. Just fed me what I wanted to hear when making the purchase. I had to go back inside speak with a team member to fix what the salesperson had promised. This had me waiting for an hour after already waiting long enough. Also the 'free gift' t-shirt should be the make, model you purchased. Buy a Polaris, you get a Polaris shirt, Can-Am you get a Can-Am shirt. I wasn't that thrilled @ all getting a 'free gift' of a Bert's t-shirt which quickly turned into a great rag. I had one issue in particular last year but the service department supervisor managed to resolve it in a satisfactory result, this is why I kept on coming here and with even more confidence that if there is an issue- I'm in good hands and nothing to worry about. I walked in not expecting to buy the same day but what do you know- they happened to have a gently used Triumph Street Twin that I fell in love with the moment I threw a leg over it. You'll find salesmen less educated than someone who spent 15 minutes googling, saying things like "the ninja 400 is really 200ccs but they market it as 400" and "they're not making anymore mt-03s". The salespeople will lie to you and try to gang up on you to push a sale. I stepped in here eager to buy a motorcycle even if I had to pay a bit of elevated prices and left disappointed. I came in a bit giddy from passing the msf course looking to purchase my first bike. Ive been to 5+ bike dealerships prior to visiting this one all of which I was well treated and they were straight forward with their pricing so I had expected the same from this dealership. I was surprised that this ended up being one of the worst experiences Ive had from any dealership. The constant lies, misinformation, and deceit makes it a place you should stay away from. I had a similar experience as one of the recent reviewers. They ask for your ID and credit card before they are able to give you an offer but hold it hostage while they rotate salesmen trying to tell you their offer is the best you'll find. News alert! They're not. When I told them I had a better competing offer they told me to go buy it from the other dealership, no problem I stated politely that I'll do just that I just needed my ID and credit card back they said okay but instead of returning my items they just brought another salesperson. The first guy kept telling me it's no pressure sales, they don't do a back and forth negotiation, I'd get an offer right away without waiting, they have the best prices anywhere, If I don't like the deal I can just walk away but I won't because it'll be the best I can get, etc. they wanted to run my credit but couldn't even tell me what the apr range was. I was rotated through 1 sales rep and 3 sales managers before I was able to escape. If this was the only dealership around, I would give up riding. I've been here twice to browse their selection, most of the staff there are very pushy (obviously trying to make a sale), but I dealt with one gentlemen was very courteous and respectful. Forgot his name, but it was an Asian gentlemen who was probably around his 40s... Things to note: -The rep on the phone assured me that I'd be able to test a couple of bikes (was on the fence on naked or SS), but when I got there (about an hour drive), everyone said test rides are not possible. Which I would've been fine with if they told me on the phone and didn't give me that expectation... I have other dealerships a lot closer, which allows test rides but with a smaller selection. -After I left, they called me with different numbers like twice a day, and kept belittling me over the phone to try and make a purchase. I guess that works on some people, but it was very unprofessional and I felt like I was speaking with 19 year old "jocks/bros". -In addition, they aren't very knowledgeable (a couple of the sales reps at least). From makes/models, to apparently more "advanced" handling characteristics (some had no idea of what I was talking about when I brought up the topic of bike geometry/sag/dampening/preload/etc) . With like 5 minutes of research prior to coming, I knew more about the bike line-up than some of the sales reps; it's your job, you should know a bit more about your products. To be fair, when I was dealing with 2 other dealerships, they weren't very familiar either, but that's not really a valid excuse on their behalf. read more

Slight of the hand! Unfortunately Iv purchased 3 motorcycles from Berts. Ill just share my last experience. (the others are typical overpricing, but at least I knew i was being ripped off). This last one was a doozy! tl;dr : I was lied to and tricked out of my GAP and sold only extended warranty on my new R6. Most of the sales reps are cheesy, but the finance reps (last chance to sell you more things) take the cake!! My motorcycle was recently stolen from a gated parking lot. I couldn't find anything proving I had GAP, so I went down to Berts to get a copy of that record. I was then alerted that I "did not purchase GAP". The rep then tried to convince me, "men do this all the time", and assured me that I just forgot. When asked to see where GAP is covered in my contract, its spelled out as "Optional Debt Cancellation Agreement" which is very easy to miss since your eyes are probably looking for "GAP" or "Guaranteed Asset Protection", and when your finance rep is telling you its included into your payment.. i hope you get the idea. The rep tried to make me feel like I should have been able to read the contract and understand that Optional Debt Cancellation IS GAP insurance. This is like telling you my name is Bob, but my drivers license says Steve, and duh.. you should know that.. Anyway they still cannot produce a paper that shows I declined GAP insurance, which they will make you sign for everything else you want to decline like lame rim insurance and other vapor insurance. BTW, im totally convinced signing anything but the contract is just psychological games to make you double think about that their overpriced roadside protection offers etc.. Why? i don't really know, my guess is they knew we were on a strict budget, and there is probably more profit in selling us Extended warranty, and if I was going to reject one or the other, it would have been the Extended Warranty. I would never put the cart before the horse.. ie: i would never OK a warranty without protecting depreciation. And i know my wife being there would also not allow such a thing. I would never never purchase a vehicle without GAP insurance, and my wife who was with me would not let me do something like that. On top of that, I would never purchase Extended warranty without first having GAP insurance. If your going to by anything from Berts, DO NOT TRUST anyone working there. In hindsight i would have purchased GAP and got my loan before walking into this place. Bottom line, they are nice, because they wanna sell. but they will assess the situation of go for the max profitability! Ill never buy anything from this place on principle alone. read more
