    Quesadillas

My second trip to this spot on Friday 3/20/26 and again it didn't disappoint. Started off with some aps, they had a winter special of salmon crudo. Sushi style but not wrapped and topped with a jalapeno with some soy sauce, this was amazing. We also went buffalo wings and beef empanadas, banging like LA. My daughter had the quesadilla and my wife went lamb chops. The lamb chops are probably the best in the five boroughs. I had the fish special over pasta with the cream sauce off the winter menu. Fire. I'm going back tonight and I live in Harlem. Admittedly, my daughter has a track meet on Staten Island, but still.

I've been to Beso a couple of times and I've had a great time every time I've been here. This last time we sat on the terrace level (so cute for the outdoor/indoor space). Enjoyed some tapas for two and drinks. The music was fun (we danced and sang in our seats as we ate) and the food was delectable. I can't wait to go back and nosh on the lamb chops we had. The scallops, calamari, shrimp and lamb chops were made beautifully. Nothing to fishy nor chewy. The service was accommodating and attentive enough.

Solid tapas spot! We stopped by before heading on the ferry back into Manhattan, and this was the perfectly sized meal. We ordered the lobster enchiladas (they only had shrimp), and chicken paella. The enchiladas were very saucy and flavorful, but the lighter flavor of the paella was a good contrast. The chicken in the paella was quite tough however. Don't skip out on their sangria, it's delicious. And I loved the decor inside.

Beso is my absolute favorite establishment. Love brunch here on Sundays. 90 min all you can drink Sangria for $20!!! What????!!!! The food is absolutely tasty n delicious. My favorite is their skirt steak. Yummmm. Also their empanadas and quesadillas are great. I miss John, he was an awesome bartender. Vinny is an excellent bartender and will always keep your drinks coming. You can sit indoors or weather permitting there's an outdoor rooftop area. Nice spot perfect for casual dining or date night.

I've been going to Beso since they opened years ago, and it's been a favorite ever since. They relocated, and it's always great to see some of the familiar faces from the original spot. I stopped in today for lunch with my 9-year-old after school, and as always, we received a warm welcome and were seated right away. I usually make a reservation (which I recommend), but walk-ins are welcome too. I opted for their prix fixe menu, available Monday through Thursday, and it is such a great deal! You get a lot of food--easily enough for two adults. I shared with my child, and we were both full. The price is right, the portions are generous, and there's a good variety to choose from. Whether you're planning a casual lunch, a date night, or a girls' night out, it's a solid choice.

We rode the ferry over to Staten Island and Beso was one of the few restaurants nearby. We came on a Saturday evening, and we were able to be seated right away without reservations. They asked us if we wanted to be seated indoors or outdoors. We opted for the outdoor seating, which was on the third floor of the restaurant. There were a few tables up there, along with a nice waiting area. The inside of the restaurant was beautiful with lots of seating areas. We got some margaritas to start. These were decent, and I was looking forward to the fruit flavors. They tasted a little artificial, but the blended texture was good. We also got a watermelon salad, plantain, and sea bass. The food was very unique and different from what I would have at home. Everything was very flavorful, and I would love to come back to try other things in their menu! Service was super awesome, and I definitely appreciate the servers running our food up and down the different levels of the restaurant.

I'm a local Staten Islander and I absolutely love besos , since their previous location. It give romantic ambience good for any occasion. I joined in a private EID event here last night and it never disappoints, plus our waitress Christy was perfection, friendly attentive, fast and with an amazing smile. If you're in the St. George area (walking distance from the ferry) please make it a point to make it there. Ohhh everything's so good but definitely get the gambas relleno or the lamb chop, your stomach will thank me. See you there !!!

Great restaurant. Came for a concert and friend recommend this place since it's near the venue. The place was crowded, I guess for the concert goers, place is romantic and has a great vibe. Loved the lamb chops and the mussels were out of this world! The desserts were yummy, I couldn't get enough of the flan! Definitely coming back again to try out other dishes!

Yummy tres leche and flan. But main course I would consider salty. The paellla was ok, a bit rubbery. Salad was ok, but the sliced ham was a but much esp w the shredded cheese. The calamari was light and crunchy I was very much a fan and happy w the choice. Staff was attentive and friendly. Cozy living room space and the ambiance was lively. Would come back for the cake omg I'm still thinking about it!!

This is a cute place with a decent amount of tables and a bar area. Parking on the street was hard to find. There is a fall menu but they didn't print it out, you have to go online. They have two single bathrooms and one was out of order for most of the night so I had to wait for like 20 min to use the bathroom. Food was very good, most of what we ordered i liked a lot. In general prices a little bit more expensive than I thought they should be. Also our second round of drinks took 35 minutes to get to us. Apparently the bartender was on a break. Which is fine, they should take breaks but I'm surprised there was no one else that can make the drinks when the bartender is on a break at peak time on a Friday night. We were 4 people, ordered 6 tapas, one entree and two desserts to share and 2 rounds of drinks. It all came out to about 150 a couple. My favorite was the chorizo tapas. It was warm chorizo with cheese and sauce served hot. Very good. We got a cheese plate too but the chorizo on that plate was soft and powdery textured and cold. I also didn't like the cheese on that plate or the other meats. But I did like the big green grapes. The meatballs on the special menu were very good, soft and flavorful. The chicken empanadas were my favorite. Normal sized empanada, about $4.50 each. Super crispy and flavorful. Moist and delicious. Some pieces of the chicken were chewy but most were really good. The short rib entree was cooked perfectly. Super soft and tender. A bit too salty. Piled high, good portion and also a big serving of pasta with it. Drinks were standout. I like the salted caramel espresso martini the best. So smooth and rich in flavor. Really tasted like salted caramel. Also the pumpkin spice martini was delicious. It was light and smooth and creamy all at the same time, and the fall spices were not over powering. For the salted caramel espresso martini when we ordered the second round we noticed the chunk of caramel garnish was left off. They said they ran out but later brought us a couple of pieces. The cannoli dip dessert was super big and great to share. The dip wasn't too sweet but it was a bit too whipped for me and lacked a rich marscapone cheese flavor which I usually expect from cannoli cream. We left stuffed! I don't know if I would come back again. But I definitely enjoyed our double date night!

They had the Cubano, but they had so many other things, I decided to go for something different. It is a nice space, with Latin music playing loud and proud. They have parking behind the restaurant, but it is shared with the other businesses in the small shopping center that the restaurant is in. Parking may be tricky. The food is on a cafeteria line, you just tell them what you want. It was Sunday, so I wanted to try the goat. Unfortunately, they were sold out. Instead, I decided to go for the chicken stew. For my sides, I decided to go for the rice and pigeon, peas, and the yellow plantains. Dear lord, I couldn't believe the size of the plate that she handed me. The chicken was bone in, but it was so tender and juicy, it was literally falling right off the bone. It was seasoned well and had an amazing flavor. I loved the rice, and the pigeon peas kind of reminded me of Black Eyed Peas. I liked the nutty flavor. The plantains were done very well. I love plantains, they reminded me of a banana, only a little bit less sweet. I had enough food for two full meals, and each of them left me stuffed. For all of this amazing food, and a soda, it was only $16 and a few cents, plus tip. I want to come back and try more things. Thank you very much....

The table we sat at was quite large, and I think it could have fit a few more people. The staff was friendly, and the lighting wasn't too dark, nor was it too loud. While I liked the atmosphere, I found the food, or rather specifically the tapas, to be not good at best, while the main dishes were better but also ranged in quality. The fact that the tapas we ordered were pretty closely priced to the mains means I would recommend the mains only based on portion and taste alone. To drink, a bunch of us split a bottle of wine from their large and pretty reasonably priced selection. The first tapas that arrived was something that I could not eat. This was the Pulpo Zarautz for $32, listed as octopus with garlic and merken seasoning served over mashed baby potatoes. The dish was small, and people thought it was OK as they found the pieces of octopus a tad chewy. They liked the spices but were surprised that the potatoes were a bit cool. The $24 Gambas Al Ajillo, with slow-cooked prawns, white wine, EVOO, garlic, and mermen, was alright. There was a handful of shrimp, and they were decently cooked, but the "ajillo," or rather, the garlic, was very light. Therefore, I found it a bit bland, which is almost never the case for this dish. I wouldn't recommend this based on price and flavor. Last and least of the tapas was the $22 Tortilla De Patatas, listed simply as a Spanish omelette. There was an option to add chorizo for $2 more, which we did. Along with the omelette, this also arrived with a few sauces and some pieces of crunchy bread, which were the highlight, as the omelette wasn't good either. The texture of the omelette was very different than any other Spanish omelette I've ever had. It was quite soft with a bit of chew, with a mild chorizo flavor. Along with the greenish color, it wasn't exactly appetizing. I wouldn't recommend this at all, but thankfully, that was the last tapas we ordered. My favorite of the main dishes was the Solomillo & Pebre for $28, listed as skirt steak topped with parsley and olive oil, with hand-cut fried potato and salad. While not the most tender, as it is a skirt steak, it was still well-flavored with the topping almost reminding me, to an extent, of a less oily version of chimichurri. The potatoes had a unique texture, being slightly crispy on the outside while remaining slightly soft in the middle. The salad on the side, which also arrived with one of our other mains, was a tasty mix and certainly more effort than a typical salad you find in many of these places. We also liked the $32 Costillas De Cerdito, with pork ribs in beer, mustard, and rosemary with hand-cut fried potato and salad. The pork ribs were flavorful, though I did find a bit of it to be a bit fatty, but some of that is expected with pork ribs. The mildly sweet and slightly rich sauce paired with the pork ribs. The same comments from before can be made about the potatoes and salad. Last was the OK Paella De Mariscos for $38, listed as rice cooked with shrimp, mussels, clams, prawns, and fresh saffron. The portion size was good, with a lot of mussels and clams in particular, and a handful of shrimp. Of the bite I had of the two large prawns, they were plump and juicy as well. However, the rice was both a bit bland and a tad mushy and felt a bit overcooked compared to many other paellas. There was some socarrat on the bottom as per usual, which was the best part. It's a bit difficult to rate this place. The spices, textures, and flavors were lacking from the overpriced tapas, and I honestly wouldn't recommend any of them. For the main dishes, they were tasty, but you can get a better-cooked skirt steak at many other places for a similar price. The ribs were decent, and the paella was just OK. If we only had the tapas, I probably would be giving this place a 1, but for the whole meal, an upper 2, rounded up.
