I bought a 1984 325 three years ago without working AC. This weekend I decided to finally tackle the project and immediately found out the brittle 36 year old tubing was cracked and leaking Freon. Found this shop down the from my house and emailed them a photo of the leak and tubing for a quote. They responded back very quickly with a very reasonable quote to have a custom hose made and installed and recharged. Three hours later exactly as estimated they were done and for the first time in 3 years I have working AC! Very nice folks who run this shop and very honest work. Place is going downhill. I've used them before but this time I came in telling them what was wrong with my air conditioning. They did a five minute evaluation to find out it was exactly what I said. Still charged me $60 for the assessment (Which goes towards the cost of repair if you choose to do so) ... Then quoted me $450 for what is a $200 repair at other reputable shops. I took my car in they said 2-3 days, they had it for 1 week because the dealer sent the wrong part. Finally get the call that my car is ready AC works now. But I got my car damaged LCD screen scratched and when they put back the console they did it with force didn't care if they damaged the car. You can see the pictures for yourself. Went in to get my AC fixed and had to go back multiple times due to it still not working. Each time they claimed something else was wrong and wanted to charge more. They either don't know what they're doing or are playing the game of trying to get more money to of people each time. It is very dirty and they do not take appointments. Donny diagnosed the A/C problem on my old (2003) Ford Expedition in about 20 minutes. It needed a new compressor and condenser. It was right before closing on a Friday and he offered to get it done the next day (Saturday) for much less than I had been quoted elsewhere. Well, being as the vehicle is only worth ~$1500 :) I went with his quote but asked him to do the work on Monday as I needed to use the vehicle over the weekend. Again no problem for Donny. I think it was the owners wife who answered the call and she told me yes they could wait. I get there around 515 and saw on the door they were open till 5pm, which she confirmed to me when I asked her while talking about my car. The first thing I'm always wary about when entrusting my car to a small shop is if they are capable, honest, and trustworthy. Usually by talking to them you would get that gut feel on who they are and what kind of place they are running. From what I felt yesterday, they are legit. This place is a mom and pop a/c repair shop run by Vietnamese couple Donnie and Linh. They were so professional and friendly. They even have a driver to drop you off to where you have to be while your car is getting fixed and to pick you up when your car is ready. But what really stands out is the low price that they give you plus their work is guaranteed for 6 months. What a hidden gem! I stopped-in here on a whim to get the non-working A/C in my ancient, high-mileage Isuzu Amigo 4x4. I mainly use it for off-road and wasn't interested in spending a lot of money to get the A/C fixed. I expected the needed repairs to cost $500-1,000. I am so glad I came here though! Not only did they figure-out in less than 5 minutes what was wrong with my A/C (Compressor was shot) it only cost $350 to replace it with a re-manufactured one and they were able to do it in an hour while I waited. A/C works great now, I've already referred several of my friends and family to this place! While I was waiting I was talking to the owners wife (I think) and she told me that they re-build compressors for most of the shops in the area. In 2016, I took my car to A/C Exchange Auto Air Conditioning in Garden Grove to replace my leaking A/C condensor.Two years later, I now have to replace a leaking condensor again. Probably a cheap condensor or poor installation. I'm not returning to that place in GG. Anyways, I found this place on Yelp and decided to give this place a chance. Right away, they determined that it was a bad leaking condensor and after the installation, it was determined that I needed a new fan clutch which I suspected. Was referred here by a coworker. No-frills and very reasonable work on A/C issues. My compressor was going out, and would screech if running for more than 5-10 minutes at a time. Prior to that, cold air would blow only on the passenger side. It was miserable in the recent SoCal summer heat AND humidity (it's been feeling a lot like Houston). I finally had enough of it and made the trek out. Donnie and his crew installed a new compressor and converted everything to r134a on my 93 Camry. I was so relieved on the way back home and had a smile on my face most of the way. My A/C blows nice and cold now, so driving in this weather has been much more manageable. The only downside is that now I don't really bike into work as much :) Linh runs the front office and answers the phone. And the phone was literally ringing all day. It's a pretty small shop with very limited seating, so best if you can drop off your car and come back to pick it up later. This kind of work isn't fast work, and I was waiting here for half the day because of how involved it is. It is a bit out of the way from where I live but I still think it was worth while and probably saved me at least a hundred or more bucks. And there are places closer to where I live that easily were estimating over a grand. Donnie, Linh and their crew are very courteous and are good people. Would highly recommend this to anyone who especially needs A/C work/repair done. My coworker mentioned that they'll do non-A/C work as well but best if you are able to bring in your own parts, etc (in his case, he had an alternator replaced and brought a replacement in for him to install). read more

Overall great and positive experience. Highly recommend. I have a 2008 Subaru Outback XT with 170k miles and was only blowing out hot air. The only thing I knew is the condenser and fan are working since it would turn over when a/c switch is on. I went there this morning around 930 am on a Saturday. Not a hard place to find as they have a sign on the sidewalk. Only had three people ahead of me. The company is a 'mom and pop' shop ran by a very nice couple. I was greeted right away and filled out the form. If you know you have work to be done don't be wary of the $30 inspection fee, which is standard and acceptable with shops I would consider reputable. Around 15 min they were able to inspect my car and advised a leak on the high valve requiring new cap, oil and freon recharge. Price was they gave was great in comparison to another shop nearby my work place. I agreed to the work performed and they immediately went to work and was out of there by 1020 am. Just under an hour! In all, they are honest, proficient, efficient, and provide great pricing. I highly recommend Best Auto Air for your air conditioning work. I would advise you to come as early as they open to avoid any backlog of other customers. Their weekend availability is a great convenience for a full time worker like I am! read more
