    I came hear because my a/c in my car stopped working. The owner stated that he would recharge the refrigerant to see if he could get it to work... he said if he got it to work, I would pay him and if it did not work after recharging the refrigerant, it would be free. Well guess what, it did not work so that meant the service was free. What happened next? I was told it was my compressor. The price jumped exponentially. However, I was also told a new compressor may fix the a/c or it may not... then I was told I might need a new fan too. The costs just kept climbing. I initially agreed to getting the compressor but when I got home I decided against it because the technician did not give me a definitive diagnosis of what was wrong with my a/c. He kept telling me I can come back if my a/c stopped working again. He also did not give me anything in writing. I decided to pay Pep Boys for a full a/c system evaluation to get something in writing. For $9.99 I got a complete written a/c evaluation. No guessing or maybes like FCE Auto wanted to do. Shawn, the owner is very welcoming. He knows how to repair a/c systems. I just wish he could have given me a more definitive diagnosis of what was wrong with my a/c.

    My A/C went out in my 2001 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner and I took it to Firestone and they qouted me $2100 for a new condenser, A/C pump, hoses and labor. That is like half of what the truck is worth. I looked on Yelp and saw that FCE Auto & Air had good reviews so I took it there for a second opinion. The manager Shawn Chu and his team were awesome!!! Within an hour they diagnosed a leak in the system, fixed it, and recharged the refrigerant for $300. A/C is blowing ice cold now. Firestone is a rip off!!! Go to FCE Air & Auto!!!

    So needed my AC serviced on my 03 Silverado. Came across Shawn's reviews after contacting a few other places. Shawn is straight to the point and you won't be given the runaround. Had AC serviced and unfortunately it didn't hold charge for more than 5 days. Shawn insisted I drop it off and leave it for home to diagnose further. Found the valves were leaking and so he replaced for an affordable price. Got truck back and after about 10-12 days it was losing charge again, so I contacted Shawn and again he said drop it off and he'll go through it again. After a couple days of testing found the condenser had small leak. Shawn pressurized the rest of the system and it held charge so that was good. So replaced condenser with lifetime warranty on the condenser. Respectfully with the time spent probably would have been double the cost.. I totally recommend Shawn for your AC needs.

    Jesse is the reason my cat is alive…read more Last weekend, during the Garden Grove toxic chemical evacuation, my tuxedo cat decided that the undercarriage of my cousin's Tesla Model Y was a great hiding spot. It was not. He was wedged in there for 12 hours with no food, no water, and zero litter box access. He was absolutely losing it. I ran through every option. Fire department? Busy with the actual chemical explosion rattling all of OC, fair. Animal control? Ghosted me. My cousin, currently out of the country, tried Tesla Roadside Assistance through the app. Tesla's answer: their technicians are not trained to rescue animals. Noted, but deeply unhelpful in the moment. Two other mechanics passed too. Jesse was my third Yelp attempt and my last real option. He showed up within two hours, no fuss, and got straight to work. He tried everything - the frunk, underneath, removing the right wheel - methodically working different angles for an hour and a half because my cat had chosen the most inconvenient possible position to be chonky in. Jesse stayed patient the entire time and got him out safely. My cat is home. He is fine. He is completely unbothered, as cats are. Jesse showed up when nobody else could. That is not something I will forget. Oh, and his prices are insanely reasonable. If you need a mechanic who will actually show up and problem-solve, Jesse is your guy.

My experience was called to book on Monday morning, quoted the price based on easy to describe work and an appointment for Wednesday at 8AM. So I adjust my schedule and am ready. No show, no answer calls or texts until a call at 930 - where he apologizes for issues on Tuesday and will show up at 5PM. Fine. I'll adjust my evening plans too. An organized person would have adjusted plans and communicated Wednesday if they had issues/delays Tuesday. Then, at 2PM calls back and says looking more like 530PM. And then he says... oh? Did I give you a price already? Oh that's actually a lot of work and says it'll actually cost 60% more. That was enough to call it quits. While I can't speak to his mechanic abilities, he fell short on: 1) being able to accurately understand and estimate work before quoting, or worse, stick to his quote when he gets busy 2) ability to plan his schedule and communicate reasonably. I hope he learns from this and other experiences and reaches his potential through better consistency.

If you need a pre-purchase inspection or any auto repair, whether it be european, american, japanese made, etc, and EVs, take your car here and don't think twice. We reached out to Arnold for a pre-purchase inspection. While six other places quoted us $250-$350 for a "comprehensive" inspection, we paid Arnold $100, which was a STEAL for what he did, even more than what the others promised. He spent at least two hours thoroughly checking the vehicle, test driving it and walking us through every detail so we truly understood its condition. We were looking at buying an Audi Q4 e-tron that had a damage report. A reputable dealership told us it was "minor" and offered to take it to the mechanic for our peace of mind. After browsing Yelp and reading the amazing reviews, we decided to come here instead and I'm so glad we did. I had already done my due diligence and familiarized myself with the vehicle and potential issues. I asked Arnold very specific, technical questions that I already knew the answers to. He answered every single one with clarity and confidence and everything I was expecting to hear. My husband stayed the entire time, and Arnold patiently explained everything while inspecting the car. You can tell he was that kid that made the auto shop his playground growing up. He's passionate, meticulous, and GENUINELY cares. What impressed me most is that Arnold will never pressure you. He won't tell you "don't buy it," but he will clearly explain what could go wrong and what it might cost to fix. When I pressed him for his honest opinion, he said he personally wouldn't buy it at the listed price but if we negotiated it lower, then it might be worth considering. That level of honesty is RARE. They are your small local auto shop but I would choose them over any flashy, grandiose service center any day. Their integrity and transparency make them stand out.
