Salt, Salt and more Salt. The breading on fish was salty as a mofo. Couldn't finish it. We need better options in Far Southeast.

We had the very large breakfast burrito and the garden vegetable shakshuka. Both were excellent; delivered hot and were well seasoned. The coffee is strong but not acidic. The servers were very helpful and attentive, and responsive to requests for additional items. I would definitely return again for a meal before a play at Arena stage or otherwise.

He literally picked everything around the Wharf but this place. One morning after getting his boat docked, before heading this is condo, I said let's go to Fish Shop. I guess I know why he never wanted to come. The place is never packed and I know why. We got a few things for brunch and the fish came out raw. Charbroiled Oysters were good. I wouldn't return. They need a better menu and the food needs to be memorable. One and done for me. Ambiance is nice! Date night worthy at least to try.

Service was pretty fast, though we did come in on a weekday during lunch hours. It wasn't super packed which made it a relaxed vibe. The appetizers and the main meals were outstanding. Every time we go to Ambar, the Balkan Salad, the beet tzatziki, and the veal soup are our non-negotiable starters. The bread basket that comes with the spreads is always warm as if it came out of the oven which is a nice touch. This time around we got to try kajmak- tasted like fresh butter from a farm. The orders we kept coming back to in particular were the grilled shrimp, the sesame crusted salmon, and the beef goulash. It's easy to get full quickly, but if you're eyeing on dessert, pace yourself! Unless you love decadent cakes, I would pass if dessert is an extra cost. The dessert menu was quite underwhelming to me and, besides the baklava, doesn't give traditional Balkan dessert vibes. If I were to recommend going to Ambar, definitely head in during restaurant week! And if paying full cost, I would say brunch has a nicer sweets selection over the dessert menu offered during lunch and dinner.

The only thing I needed was some crusty french bread to enjoy the broth. The broth was super flavorful and the mussels were fresh. I decided on the lamb rigatoni for dinner. This was my first visit to Kitchen Savages. I had tried walking in without a reservation once before on a Saturday evening, and there were no seats available. So my first recommendation would definitely be to make sure you make/have a reservation because they do get busy (understandably so)!! Overall our brunch experience was good! I started off with the Mimosa Sampler for my drink order; I wanted to try the different flavours that were on offer. These were nice, but I'd hoped the presentation would have been a little better and the mimosas not as heavy with the juices. The food was great! Super tasty and packed with flavour. My husband had the Peach Cobbler French Toast and I ordered the 'Create-Your-Own' pasta. I requested it with salmon, shrimp and spinach, but it only came with the shrimp and spinach. Such a shame, because I can imagine the salmon would have made the dish EVEN better. When the bill came, it had the salmon (which I never got) listed on it - after pointing this out, the server checked with the kitchen, and kindly removed it from the bill. Overall, I would say that we really enjoyed brunch here. I will definitely be back in the future to try the main dinner menu & hopefully there'll be no mixups with what I order and what I get .

Not sure if it makes a difference that we came in during happy hour. Their blue crab dip was the most memorable appetizer. Loved how it was chunky, flavorful, and shareable. The order came with a side of tortilla chips. The chophouse burger was also super delicious and filling and came with a side of fries. My friend also loved her frozé - I don't drink but it looked delightful. Prices are decent for happy hour, and it's pretty lively inside. Service is relatively quick. The only downside is that it can feel a bit shady outside / getting to the location. If you're in the area, I'd recommend this spot, especially for happy hour.

The Brussels sprouts were so good, such a variety of oysters, the ceviche was nice, even the fries didn't disappoint... the servers were so pleasant, even the manager was active and visible. But the level of service was so bad. Our server had little knowledge of oysters or the flavor profiles of the different kinds, so though they had over 8 varieties, she could only say which ones were "popular". We ordered 5 different kinds but she only placed an order for 4. A different waitress brought our bottle of wine and poured almost the entire bottle out across our three glasses. When we asked for extra sauce, it never came, we were seated at the back of the restaurant (even though most of the restaurant was empty) which was fine but it was next to the table where the waiters and waitresses were hanging out, eating and cleaning silverware so it was noisy and disturbing. Then we were served our food, handed over that table and a trash bin, like we were at a family BBQ. I had to get up to receive the food from the back waiter to place it in our table. I have never been in a restaurant where they get all the big things right but every little thing wrong to make it an awkward experience. So not sure how to rate this since the people were so nice and the food was really good. So I went with 2 stars because the music was also super loud. Maybe would have gotten more stars if it was a nightclub.

The…read moreordering process was really easy and our server explained the process and what we would be receiving/what's included. We ended up ordering two large, different boil bags for six people which ended up being too much food. One thing to note is that the crawfish (1 pound) is a ton of crawfish. That may be obvious to some, but if you are not versed in eating it, there's a lot of little guys that come. We opted to do one hot bag and one medium bag both with the mixed flavoring option. The hot one was the perfect level of spice. I prefer very spicy, so if that is not your avenue, I'd probably go with one of the lesser spice levels. Two of my friends who were eating the non-spicy bag commented that they thought that was too hot, so take that for what it's worth. I enjoyed the sides of rice, it was cooked perfectly. They also provided you sides of extra sauce, but it was a little difficult to use without a spoon, and it felt awkward just dunkink our hands in... we were already grabbing so much stuff with our hands, so that would've been nice to have some type of apparatus to be able to spoon it into our desired bowls easily. I thought the shrimp was excellent. I don't eat crawfish so I can't comment on those, but those that did seem to enjoy it. The mussels weren't my favorite, but other others enjoyed them. I loved the potatoes, and I thought there should've been more. I also love the idea of the boiled eggs, those were delicious. And hands-down, my absolute favorite was the corn. It was cooked so perfectly, and so moist, and delicious. This is definitely experience. They give you bibs and they cover the table with a mat. They also give you a bag to be able to dispose of shells easily. It's kind of messy when you actually have a full table of people, but if you have a smaller table, it's actually better to be able to spread out a bit and then have your bag on one side. The restaurant was pretty bumping when we were there, not every table is filled, but I would say probably 70% of the restaurant was. I recommend getting there early if you're planning to go as they do not take reservations. Overall, this is a cool experience and would recommend if you are interested in trying a crab boil.
