I simply could not get the transfer code from Xfinity for my paid-off iPhone 13ProMax THAT DAY so Ron said, "let's just swap out a phone for you." And it was a standard iPhone 14, (much poorer camera features.) I put it on auto pay, and come to find out, I'm stuck with a three-year contract. Two years into it I still owe $1000. I am visually impaired, as I told them at the time - it was obvious. Ron said, "it's the best deal you can get," and his rude boss, Reid, finally getting back to me, belligerently kept saying "you signed a contract." He had no compassion for a mentally and physically impaired senior. I wasn't against t-mobile, but I switched to verizon because they treated me better. I had a 4 phones lines. Mine, My Oldest Son, and my other son and daughter who live in Pennsylvania. My two kids who lived in PA, were 19 and 20, and wanted to get on their own account. So In December 2024, they left for Verizon. I switched to Verizon myself with my oldest son and his fiance back in Minnesota. This is when the nightmare began. My kids phones were all paid off, and so was my sons fiance. I still owed money on mine, so they wouldn't unlock my phone. My son and his fiance had zero problem. Their phones worked immediately. It took me a month to pay my phone off. When I did, they said it would take 72 hours to unlock my phone to complete the switch to verizon. 72 hours came and left, and my phone was still locked. I made a few trips into the Maplewood T-Mobile store for assistance. After voicing my displeasure, the clerk got a temporary unlocking on my phone. So for a month, I was on Verizon with my phone. Now let me be clear, my phone was entirely paid off at this point, but T-Mobile relocked my phone, and is prohibiting me from using it. My phone, My paid off phone T-Mobile has hijacked it, and won't let me use it...and They will not help me. Does T-Mobile have to be so butt hurt I left? Is anybody else going through this? I just want to use my phone...but T-mobile isn't letting me. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! (I put a one star only because yelp will not let me put zero)

The joy of the day was Ray the salesperson who was very funny, informative and got her the best deal. He interacted with grandkids and really was focused on the whole process. Thank you for making our wait friendly and fun! TMobile was very busy but they made sure to greet us and get us a place in line for service. Verizon as a whole is probably five stars for me. I've had both T-Mobile and Sprint in the past. By far, Verizon has the best coverage and fewest dropped calls of any of these networks. Getting on the family plan with Verizon has also been a really good deal. Saving about 15 bucks a month by switching from Sprint to Verizon. I no longer get unlimited minutes and data, but I have only had one month where I came close to the limit. For the past several months, I have had trouble charging my cell phone. The charger cord would not stay connected to my phone without propping it against the wall with something heavy on the other side. Never had this problem in the past. Finally got around to bringing it in to my local Verizon today. There were four other customers in line in front of me. Only two employees in the store. Far too much chit chatting and unsolicited sales pitches when there were other customers who were waiting in line. Perhaps the employees at the stores are primarily sales people, but they should at least know some basic troubleshooting. One of the ladies in front of me was unable to access her voice mail messages. They fixed this problem in about 15 minutes. Once it came my turn, explained my problem to the employee. She took a cursory glance at my phone and said the charging port on it was corroded. Whaaat? I have no idea how my phone could have become corroded in 19 months. She said I could bring it to the Har Mar store where I bought it, but they could probably not do anything for me unless I had purchased insurance and was within the 12 month policy limit. Told me that I would probably have to get a new phone. Decided it was time to put on my Inspector Gadget hat. The solution was as simple as finding the right tool and two minutes of labor. Took a needle and cleaned out the charging port. There was a ton of crud in there, but no corrosion so far as I can tell. Problem solved! Works great now. Maybe I should be embarrassed at my lack of technological savvy, but you think this would be a problem that the Verizon employees could diagnose relatively quickly (even if they are primarily wearing a sales hat).
