I have a Porsche Cayenne, and somehow the rear-view mirror came separated from the windshield, with the mirror dangling from a cable assembly for the rain sensor. I went to the Porsche dealer and they told me that the entire windshield needs to be replaced. But my windshield is fine .. perhaps a couple of tiny nicks. The insurance is not going to replace it for that. Cost of a new windshield .. $1600. All because my mirror fell-off .. ouch! I called my local, independent Porsche service center, and he recommended to go to Best Buy Auto Glass. I called Joe at Best Buy and asked if he could repair it .. he said he wasn't sure, but to bring it in and he'll check it out. I took the Cayenne in to Best Buy Auto Glass this morning .. Joe said that typically one would just replace the entire windshield (OK, sounded familiar), but that he'd try to repair it. He said that the repair job would be $120, but if it didn't work out, that there's no charge. He said for me to leave the car for a couple of hours and he'd do his best. I UBER'd home and awaited his call. 2 hours later, he called and said "All Set!". I headed back to his shop, and the job was done perfectly. Very stable, and he said it'd good for a 6-month warranty not to fall-off. I really liked the "CAN-DO" attitude, as well as the value for his service. I've had the misfortune of needing Best Buy Auto Glass twice this year. The first time, my passenger window was busted by a thief, this time my windshield was destroyed by a falling avocado (I wish I was making this up). But each time I went to visit Joe, he was able to get my car in the very next day (weekdays, can't speak for weekend availability) and all patched up in under two hours. First review... I brought my car here after it being broken in to, and I have to say best buy auto glass is far and beyond the best place to get your glass replaced. Everything from the low price, to the quality of service, to the friendly couple that own and run this small establishment. I called for an appointment, and Victor (the owner) told me to come on right away and that he had my glass size I stock. The price was also significantly lower than a few other places I had called. As soon as I arrived, Victor and his wife greeted me with a smile and thanked me for coming in. They got to work immediately and even gave me hot tea while I waited! The quality of their work was fast and excellent (I've had bad experiences with other places.) After the job was done I had a great conversation with them, fun people! What a WONDERFUL experience!! I pulled the mirror off my 318Ti and did not have a clue what to do. So, I got on YELP and sure enough, found the solution. BEST BUY AUTO GLASS. On 7/16/20 I attempted to open my driver,s side door panel on my 2013 Hyundai Elantra to retreive my drivers licence that had slipped and fallen into the window cavity. As a Campbell resident, I was happy to find a highly rated LOCAL auto glass provider on Yelp. I had already called around to several other business and quoted $250-$350 to replace my windshield (each time, being asked the specifics about my windsheild type). With Best Buy Auto Glass, I first used their website to generate a quote which was $303 - reasonable given the other quotes I have, but there were no specifics regarding after-market glass, brand name glass, etc (other businesses had given me a choice with different price points) so I called. The male I spoke with (I cannot call him a "gentleman) quoted me $550 over the phone, WITHOUT asking me any specifics, as every other business had done. I asked why his quote was different than their website quote. He gruffly replied that his cost is $300 and asked ME how his website could say that...um, I don't know, it's YOUR website. He was quite rude and told me to call other places. It seemed to me that once he heard I was a cash customer vs insurance, he lost interest in having me as a customer. It's disappointing to find a local business you WANT to support that is so rude and clearly does not want my business. Great customer service, great prices, quality replacement glass, and timely. I used Best Buy Auto Glass a few months ago after some @$$ decided to break my driver's side front window and steal a backpack out of my car that had absolutely nothing in it. Before just finding some shop that had my window in-stock and just having it replaced, I did A LOT of shopping around and research of which replacement glass is closest in quality and hue to the OEM glass that my Lexus GS came with from the factory. The first time I called Best Buy on the phone, they answered ALL my questions about which manufactures they use for their replacement glass, if the glass was in-stock, how long it would take and when they could do it, and the total cost of the repair. After calling somewhere between 15 and 20 different auto glass replacement shops and getting a lot of variance in the cost, quality of glass used, and customer service, I decided that Best Buy Auto Glass was the way to go. Out of all the businesses that I had called, Best Buy was the 3rd least expensive and they used glass from the manufacturer that produced the highest quality replacement glass available for my make and model of car (I believe that that specific glass was also made in the USA). The most expensive by FAR was Safelite AutoGlass, with a quote almost $175 more than Best Buy and they use some of the lowest quality glass available. Upon calling Best Buy the second time, I had them order the glass that I wanted (which they did without a deposit, like some of the other places wanted), scheduled a time to bring my car in and got a final quote. They told me that they would have the glass the next day and scheduled the appointment for a time which I picked. My appointment was for 12:30 the next day. The next day I had to call them around 11:45 and tell them that something had come up and I wouldn't be able to make it down there at 12:30. They said "NO problem" and asked me what time I would like to reschedule for. I told them I wasn't exactly sure what time I could make it down there, but somewhere around 2 or 3. They were VERY accommodating and told me that should be fine but to give them a call right before I headed over there just to make sure they could fit me in. I called them around 2:30 and they told me to come on down and there would be no wait before work was started on my car. When I showed up, they let me inspect the glass that they had ordered for me and confirmed that it was the correct glass that I had wanted, which it was. They then started working immediately. I am very picky about who (if anyone) and how my car is worked on, as I am a mechanic myself. I "peeked" in a couple times to see how "gentle" they were being and I was really pleased with the care that they took not to scratch anything or scuff my leather door panel and the quality of work being performed. In about 40 minutes I had a functional window again! The quality of work was top-notch with none of those easy-to-break door panel clips broken, no scratches or scuffs on any surfaces, the alignment and upper stop of the window set perfectly, no noise from the window track, the window cleaned thoroughly, and all the broken glass vacuumed up from my interior. When it was time to pay up, they even gave me a slight discount from the price they quoted me originally because I was paying cash out of pocket and I wasn't going through an insurance company. I really couldn't have been more pleased with the end result of a crappy situation. The guys at Best Buy Auto Glass were very professional, had great customer service, were timely, used the best quality materials available, the quality of work was very good, and they have very competitive prices. I highly recommend using these guys if you need to replace one of the windows on your vehicle. read more
