Best buys across the country have really taken a hit since they no longer really have anyone they have to beat out. This one is no different. There were only a few people on the floor, so I had to wait a good five or ten minutes before I was told they don't have the item, can they order it online for me? I can order something online, the whole reason I go to the store is so I can see and examine the product. The one star is because of a lack of customer service on the floor and the general lack of merchandise. (this is not the first time I have gone to this store with the same result.) best buy has tried so hard to be an "everything" store that they no longer carry a lot of movies, music, games, cameras, and peripheral gear. I don't get it with these stores. Greeter at the door? Check! Helpful employees? Uncheck! The customer service at a Best Buy store always seems to be off. You would think customer service would be better, in stores, since a majority of people enjoy shopping on the Internet these days. Fortunately, there was one eagerly helpful soul that aided me in my purchase needs. The other 2 that helped me... FAILED! This place especially does not do a good job of encouraging their customers to shop in the store. I went to this Best Buy during the holiday shopping season, so I wasn't expecting much. The store itself is fine and exactly like any other Best Buy. To me, all Best Buys seems really crammed. As if they were deliberately trying to get as much merchandise into a location to cut down on deliveries. Anyways, it was a madhouse when I went which I felt was probably the reason I couldn't get any help looking for a few things. I was lookong for a few CD's and a video game for lil bro. When are the holidays not chaotic though? There was a ridiculous line to cash out. They had lanes set up and I felt exactly like I was in line to go on a roller coaster at an Amusement park. My cashier definitely seemed like he had been working some super long hours and I'm sure he probably did. So I don't blame him for seeming like he really wasn't "there". Yes, holidays are hectic, but Best Buy could have done a little better on the customer service front and the organization at the registers due to increased consumers. read more

Without a doubt one of the worst customer experiences I've ever had. I bought a television on Friday with the promise that it would be delivered the following morning. What ensued was ridiculous-- I had to reschedule the appointment 4 times, and eventually just had to pick up the tv from the store. Any time I tried to reach someone I was given the same scripted responses from national call center, saying they "assured me" it would come at the next scheduled appointment. When I finally came to the store to pick up the tv, the delivery service claimed that nobody was at the house when they attempted to deliver, despite the fact that we actually saw them drive past our house once and made sure someone was waiting when we received an email. They also claimed they called ahead, despite me not having any unknown calls the day of one delivery. I spent hours on hold and trying to resolve the issue over the phone-- Just an all-around horrible experience, I will not be shopping from BestBuy again. read more

me and my boyfriend went in here looking for a radio for his truck we stood around waiting for someone to finish helping other people and when he finished he disappeared. there were a group of people standing around not doing anything even tho we were right next to them and none of them thought to ask if we needed help. on the way out we saw the guy that disappeared helping someone else after he saw us waiting for him to finish helping the other people. read more

I came to this location last week to switch my cellular provider. I purchased a pre-paid phone card and it did not transfer over correctly to my phone. I had contact AT&T (my new provider) multiple times I also came back to the best buy location 3 times when associates told me they were unable to help me and unable to give refunds on prepaid cards. Finally, I ask for the manager and the associate again advice there was nothing the manager could do. While at this time NICK was the manager on duty, I explain to him what had happen and how now I was out of 65.00. Nick immediately scan the receipt and was able to locate the issue and was able to give me a refund. Moral of the story Best Buy needs more Nick's! Thanks for your Help! read more

Yes I'm giving this Best Buy Five Stars because they deserveit . Especially the staff who seems to help me all the time. I'm a transplant from California and my regular BB happens to be the flagship store in SF and the other one in Emeryville. Both have always had exceptional good service. I've also been to other bestbuys that are just awful (San Rafael). But Charlottesville Bestbuy from day one has always been friendly and helpful. I've bought stereo equipment and gotten great service and advice. I've always been remind of alternative to save money. And the customer service dept. Is just awesome Corey and his team are always courteous and helpful always! They go the extra mile every time. And I appreciate that. And when staff doesn't know all the information. COVID commerce here is problematic. The app and website all indicate they'll bring your item to your car like my usual Best Buy. I get there, do the app checkin and a good while after my 5-10 minute wait time passes a bumbling Bestbuy man roams the parking lot inspecting who knows what and eventually comes and says you gotta go inside. I ask why.. am I parked at the signs with "curbside pickup" and was instructed to wait by two (albeit automated but human controlled) sources. I'd been reading for what seemed like 1/2 an hour. Was not impress with the GMs management and he refused to give me his supervisors number. "He didn't have one!" I called BS and he and everyone else stood by him and bid me polite "good days." I've always had a great experience working with the Geek Squad. They've always taken the time to explain things to me and answer all my questions. I'm not a techie so it's great to work with people who aren't condescending! At my last visit for system updates, malware and virus removal, etc. I was greeted by Anthony, Agent Avala who explained everything. He was professional and very personable. Went in today planning on buying a pretty big purchase. Walked in and 4 employees were talking at the door and people were walking around the store. I usually go to the one in Harrisonburg and I am greeted right away but nobody said anything to me at this specific location. I went to the section I was looking for and a woman was sitting there working on a phone but no customers around her so I POLITELY said, "Hi miss I was just wondering if there is a way I could have someone grab this product for me when they get a chance" and she rolled her eyes, wouldn't make eye contact, and gave me attitude so I walked right out of there. I'm not gonna give my money to a large company like that if their employees can't treat me with ANY respect when I WOULD HAVE BEEN A PAYING CUSTOMER. Safe to say I took my money and bought the same product through a completely different store and I WILL NOT give Best Buy any more of my money. We had returned a playstation with everything including the controller that came with it. We waited about a week which was fine, but when we picked it up it didn't have the controller in the box I felt offended because they were questioning if we had the controller in the box which we did. They called us in to come get the controller.We told them it wasn't the right controller they didn't seem to care.We went home that day they gave us the wrong controller, well we called and complained and they said to come back to the store for the right one. Tried to return a defective hard drive right out of the box. Receipt? Check. Within the time frame? Check. Will they exchange it? No. They claimed I was scamming them. The customer service person was nasty - told her "geek squad" people to take their time because she knew I was a scammer, and then ended up jumping over the counter and throwing a punch at the person I was with (she was grabbed by her coworkers before it landed). Police were called. Product was not exchanged. I called corporate who informed me that it was the manager's discretion to return/exchange a product. I will never spend another cent in any Best Buy store, nor will any of the friends I've told about this. I visited this store #860 last evening. I approached an associate (Kevin) for assistance who stated that he would be with me after he finished with a customer he was working with. I patiently waited nearby. When he was finished with the customer he proceeded to assist another customer when I stepped in and reminded him that I was next. He did NOT care. He rushed me, didn't fully answer any of my questions. He failed to fully look into the product that I inquired about. I spoke with a manager (Corey) at the customer service counter and informed him of what occurred. He asked the associates name but didn't care. Typically, this is not my experience at this BestBuy however, I find it extremely troubling that I received lack luster customer service to say the least. Deserves 0 stars! What a horror show! I bought a tv on 11/26 to be delivered. It is now 12/16 and on two separate occasions they have not delivered. I received no courtesy phone call or anything, just a text AFTER they were supposed to show up saying delivery was rescheduled. I talked to the person in charge of scheduling the deliveries and he was rude and aggressive, refusing to deliver at the time promised after the first delivery screw up. I had to cancel my order and buy through Amazon and now will get my order in 2 days, which is what I should have done in the first place. These people do not know how to treat their customers and do not deserve your money! They will go the way of Circuit City with this type of business model. Can we give zero stars? My mom upgraded her phone at Best Buy Mobile, was told by the guy that he had made sure her data was backed up. It was not. She went back the next day and of course he had taken the time to erase her old phone, but not the time to make sure her photos were in fact transferred to the new device. This was a month ago and I am still mad about the special pictures that were lost -and it wasn't even my phone! How many times has this happened to other people who didn't report it? Purchased a $600.00 Pioneer head unit for a Mercedes and that in itself is a pain, Mercedes uses fiber optics , knowing this we going to switch to conventional RCA so I can replace original equipment. Car tech says he can do it and 1.5hr later he comes to me and explains it's to involved for him that I need to take to one of there other stores, this is after he's worked on it and everything is FUBAR. I make appt. at another store 1.5hr away and after the tech finishes it the wife and I don't make it 15 min. until we smell smoke so we turned around took it back as he has already started butchering another poor soles car. He looked at ours and replaced the head unit due to a ground fault ? well I have been back due to the pioneer unit it self has issues twice now. Get the warranty protect your self. read more

We brought in a computer to their Geek Squad to have repairs done including installing a new hard drive with Windows 7. Never did they say there would be a problem. Or that we would have to purchase anything extra. Then they call to tell us that they can't install Windows 7 but that we have to purchase a new copy of Windows 7. This was never discussed. So we went back for a refund and received our computer with a refund. Of course they were incapable of putting the computer back together the way that they received it. They just stuck a different bolt In it rather than put it together properly. Not a good way to do business. read more

I have been to this store many times over the past two years and have never had an issue. I am a Best Buy Elite Plus member which means you have to spend a minimum of $3,500 a year to qualify. I have been an Elite Plus member for the last five years. Due to that membership and frequency of visits, I believe my rating holds more weight over those who gave this store a one star rating after only visiting once.
