I live in Oklahoma, in the Tuskahoma area, and this computer is for my 84-year-old grandmother. During a holiday visit and extended work stay, I initially brought her PC to Geek Squad on December 19, 2025 for service. When I was able to return on January 23, I was informed that the workmanship warranty had expired and that I would need to repurchase the service. This did not seem appropriate, considering the issue had not been resolved properly the first time. When I returned to pick up the PC, I specifically asked that it be powered on so I could verify that a fresh operating system had been installed, as discussed. Unfortunately, the computer does not have a completed operating system installation or system restore. As it stands, we are in a worse position than when we first brought it in. I was also told that Best Buy's service line is not connected to Geek Squad, and that because Best Buy refunded my purchase amount during the second visit, this automatically triggered a "stop work" decision. This was never clearly explained beforehand. At this point, I simply want resolution. If the store cannot ship the PC, I am requesting that a carrier be arranged to pick it up from the store. I currently have four open case numbers and have not received a single call or email with a proposed resolution. This situation has been exhausting and disappointing, especially given that this computer is for my elderly grandmother. I am simply asking for accountability and a clear path forward. read more

I went in to utilize geek squad coverage on something I bought from their website after a year. The device had a defect that was unacceptable. I was met by a woman named Amy and an African American male. They were both rude and disrespectful for the duration of my visit. I was quickly shrugged off and it seemed they did not want to help me. I was polite for the duration and gave no word or action that warranted my treatment. I was ultimately told that I could not replace my device due to a third party seller situation set up on their new market place system. This was explained to me by Gerard, who was the only reasonable person I spoke to in my visit. The biggest issue I have is the fact that they still sell the device on their site and even offer geek squad protection (which I originally got) but would not replace it due to the third party thing. Why offer geek squad stuff if you don't want to actually perform it? I was refunded the money I paid in lue of the replacement/repair from geek squad. Overall, I had a bad taste in my mouth. Gerard was nice and respectful, but the others were extremely rude. They didn't seem like they wanted to help anyone or explain anything. This makes me not want to go back. read more

Worst customer service ever. Multiple times within the last few months my order was saying preparing for pickup and showing the item in stock then it was cancelled. They should update their in stock options better than this and accommodate customers more. We rented a truck to make a purchase because it was in stock. Such bs. Customer service with Bestbuy is non-existant. Paid for Profesional installion. Appliance was installed and not leveled. Called and was told someone would call back. Never heard from anyone. Called again, scheduled another appointment. So far an almost two hours late. Called customer service and they were very dismissive and hung up when we requested a refund of installation fee. Called the store in Covington and after being on hold for 30 minutes was told the stores do not accept calls, calls are forwarded to customer service. Update, never showed and had to go to store to get a resolution. read more

This place is a complete and total dumpster fire. The staff really does try to do the best they possibly can but clearly it's either poor management or poor direction from the corporate level that makes the experience about as miserable as it can possibly be. It starts when you walk in the door and a friendly but obnoxious greeter who insists on knowing what you need or where you're going in the store, I appreciate the interest but just tell me hello and get out of the way. On this last visit I was stopping by to pick up something I had ordered online and also needed to pick up something that was sent out by geek squad for repair. You'd think that would be an easy enough request but apparently they were too short staffed and it was gonna take probably 30 minutes or more for them to have me sign a piece of paper and receive my items. We live more than an hour away from the store and some of the necessary install parts weren't included in the box. terrible customer service experience as soon as I walked into the store the greeter started yelling at me about where I was going i told him to drop off the computer. then he yells you have to have an appointment! I told him I was not aware to drop off I needed an appointment and I tried to call the store several times, but no one answered the phone. then the counter person at the repair center very rude tech lectured me about making an appointment. I paid and left for consultation. The repair center call quoted the price and I approved it. now I called the store to make an appointment to pick it up. I called 4 times been stayed online for more than 3-to 5 minutes still no answer. finally, late Saturday evening got the appointment. my husband went to pick up the girl was on her phone texting and never once acknowledged my husband as she steadily kept texting. He finally said are you going to help me or not. She turned around and said "No" that is not my department and he said can you get me someone. Finally, a tech heard the commotion and came out and he was so rude to my husband. We have spent hundreds in that store and not no more, I will only do business with locals who are more appreciative of their customers and treat them with respect. this is what corporate America has become. never do business with them again. I made a huge mistake when my phone was misbehaving. I got a tracphone to hold me over until I had more time. The phone was defective. Donovan, phone specialist, literally spent 4.5 hours canceling my tracphone and activated a new phone . Tracphone customer service is horrible. They do not speak English well. The store doesn't have much inventory. When you do want to make a purchase they can't find the item and take an inordinate amount of time to locate. The Geek squad makes it impossible to get an appointment in store and will defer and deflect before helping. The company protocols for servicing customers is so controlled that even with no customers in store they are unwilling to make an appointment same day. Best Buy is not the same store of. 18 y.o. trying to sign up for their student discount program with my .edu email and student ID. Couldn't figure it out online (they don't make it easy to navigate), so we use the "chat with an online agent" option, and they tell us that you have to call this 1-888-number to do it. So we call the number and they tell us nope, you have to physically go into a store to sign up to show them your student ID, so we physically go to this store and show them student ID, and they say nope, you can only sign up via the website. Best Buy makes it impossible to sign up and no one wants to help. read more

Best Buy is a great place to buy electronics. The staff doesn't get commissions, so there aren't any high pressure sales tactics. I bought a new computer and television from this location. I have also purchased numerous electronic parts and accessories. Best Buy also sells phones and appliances. One bad experience I had was when I bought my new computer. The salesperson in the computer area pressured me to fill out an extended warranty form. I told him no and he advised me that I had to complete the form in order to purchase the computer. I top him that no one would force me to fill out anything, but he claimed they wouldn't sell it to me without the form. Once I got to the register, there was no issue and I purchased the computer with no form. read more

In the past month I went in this store and had terrible customer service. Walked out both times without buying a thing. The first time I wanted to purchase two IPhones. But was told the company policy is to only sell phones over long term where interest can be charged. But I had to wait for about fifteen minutes for someone to eventually decide to help me. Second time the item I wanted was listed for one price, but rang up $50 more. Found out after going down to Target the item was on sale and the listed price was correct. But no one changed it in the computer at Best Buy. Nor the Floor Supervisor that I spoke with could be bothered to check. This store has lost another customer. I will order from Amazon. Think the Store Manager better wise up if he wants to keep his store open. read more

We are seniors. The wife and I discontinued our cell phone service from another provider. Went to Best Buy in Covington, La. for new cell phones and new cell service. Best Buy sold us on a Sprint program. Best But was unable to transfer all of our info to the new phones. They sent us to the Sprint Store. Long story short.......If we would have gone to the Sprint Store first, we would have saved ALOT of money. We feel that we "got taken for a ride". Very disappointed in Best Buy. Now we be are all going back and forth and he takes my phone to A manager who never came out to speak to me about my phone they it's not covered now they have decided it's covered however they look in the system and they don't have the color of my phone and they don't want to give me any other color it has to be the exact same color at that point I realize how worthless and useless the geek squad is the store. It didn't matter they were going to do whatever if took not to help the situation so I did what any person with common sense would do I took my iPhone to the apple store and they looked at said it could not be repaired and gave me a new one same color and yes I paid my deductible the Apple store in New Orleans was wonderful Lakeside Mall now this professionalism Geek squad was a complete waste of time and gas I wish I had paid attention to the names of the horrible people at Best Buy however it was meant for me to forget as I sit here and type out my review on my new iPhone that they said was not covered and couldn't be replaced. read more

Sleazy sales tactics from a bunch of amateurs that enjoy pulling a scam over on the customer. Bought an iPhone 12 from Best Buy Covington a couple of years ago. Spent $1200 and change. Had to go to Revive to switch sim cards because they couldn't unlock the old iPhone at Best Buy. Was told we were ripped off by a third store, as well... I Like the Best Buy, have purchased other electronics from Best Buy, such as computers, televisions, etc. but on the mobile phone side, forget it unless they seriously revamp their sales practices and procedures and learn to be humble for a change. read more

Return policy is terrible. 14 days!! Most places give you 30 days to at least return an item. The receipt states that store policies vary and to check BestBuy.com. That is ridiculous. I gave a drone to s friend for Christmas. It was too difficult to control and then he became ill. His daughter tried to exchange it and was told he missed the January 12 deadline to return. I ordered the $1 with a two year contract blue Galaxy S5 online on Sunday 11/22/2014 for store pickup at Best Buy in Covington, LA. I was driving in from out of town and picked up the phone about an hour before the store closed. Amy who set up my phone was very helpful and we finished in about half an hour. When I got in my car, I noticed the new phone would not go to sleep. When I tried, the screen would start playing a video about the phone's capabilities. I figured it was some sort of tutorial and went home. When I got home, I realized the phone was actually a "mock phone" and stuck in Retail Mode. I called the store (now it is 10 minutes before closing), and they said if I can get back there before they closed, they would switch it out for the right phone. There's no way I could get there in 10 minutes, so I waited until the next day. This was super crappy because now my previous phone is deactivated, so I have no phone until the new one gets fixed. The next day I leave for an early lunch break and get to Best Buy at 11am. I went to Mobile and had to wait 20 minutes just for someone to tell me they couldn't do anything until Geek Squad confirmed my phone was stuck in Retail Mode. I go to Geek Squad and now have to wait 30 more minutes. I guess the guy didn't believe me that my phone was stuck in Retail Mode and that the only way to undo it was to replace the phone or know the store password to remove the app. My phone had died because you cannot turn it off in Retail Mode, so after finding a charger for it, he turned it on and tried to factory reset it. WELL the phone has to be at least 10% charged to do a factory reset. So here we are now waiting for the phone to charge to 10% to try a factory reset THAT WILL NOT WORK IN RETAIL MODE. After he figures out that, gasp, you cannot factory reset it, he talks to his manager who tells him he needs to switch out the phone. He goes to Mobile to grab a replacement and then sends me to Customer Service to exchange the phones. Customer Service then sends me to Mobile because the new phone requires activation. I have to wait again at Mobile for the understaffed section to finish what they're doing to get back to me. They're about to switch me to the replacement phone, but I notice the replacement is black and not blue. I ask if they could get a blue one like I had ordered. It turns out they are out of blue now. I ask if they could then just return the bad phone and ship a blue one to my house. Mobile replaced my old phone's sim card with the new phone's sim card so I could have a functioning phone again and sent me back to Customer Service to return my new phone and order a replacement. I get to Customer Service again, and they are confused because they see 3 blue phones in stock. Turns out they are on hold and in the back somewhere. I wait about 30 minutes for them to go in the back and give me a blue phone that was on hold for someone else (sorry for that person too). Now I'm sent BACK to Mobile where I wait again for them to finish with their current customer before getting to me. While I'm waiting, an elderly couple grumbles that they hope I'm not skipping because they've been waiting 20 minutes. The lady in Mobile calls me forward, and the rude old man rushes ahead to sit in the chair before me. The lady professionally and respectfully let the old man know that I've been in the store for hours, and she needs to finish my transaction first. I let her know that I can switch out the sim cards myself and finally exit the store. So what could have taken 10 minutes to TWO HOURS on what was supposed to be a one hour lunch break. read more

I ordered a backup battery for my cell phone in case we lost power due to expected storms on Sunday afternoon. I was notified it was ready for pickup. Monday morning I went to pick it up. It was a sunny clear day as the storm took another course. When I got to the store, it was sandbagged and locked up. No other stores in the area were closed. On Wed. I went again and pulled into curbside pickup. There was no phone number posted so I checked detailed instructions for pickup. No contact number. I asked someone delivering to another car and he said I had to have the Best Buy app to get the secret number for curbside pickup. I went inside to pick it up. You entered a roped off section with no one attending. I waited and no one ever came so I had to climb under the ropes. There were a number of people in customer service but apparently none of them were giving service to customers. I waited approximately 15 minutes before someone finally retrieved my order. Not an experience I want to go through again. Best Buy has made what should be a simple process an ordeal. read more

This store sucks! Needs negative stars! I had the worst experience of my life Friday 3/20/2020 at this store. Was looking for a DVD set. The Inventory said there was eight copies in the store - could not find one! They said they were in the warehouse, but no one walked back there to check. I waited as each sales associate that started to help me got distracted by another new customer and started to help them instead. Every person that said they were helping me in the store, dropped the ball. I waited half an hour while four people started to attempt to help me. No one was able to find a resolution for 40 minutes. Finally one person made their way to the back of the store (warehouse) and came back saying they could not find it and the computers must be wrong. Off inventory one or two, I get, but off by eight? No wonder everything is overpriced. The first girl that started to help me in the beginning waited on six (6) customers while I stood there wondering if she was still looking for my dvd. I will not go to Best Buy again. And oh! by the way, immediately went to target two doors down and got my product easily, much quicker and actually cheaper. So long Best Buy! Keep your rewards too! I returned it and got an Acer 10'' tablet that I like a lot aside from the weird charger. Anyway, everyone at Best Buy was great about returning the Lenovo, getting the Acer, going through several boxes if universal tablet chargers (none fit but I appreciated the effort), and returning a mouse that didn't work. I love this place! With the opening of an Academy right across the interstate recently, this is heaven for me. In the past I have bought several electronics from this location. Always helpful staff. Just bought a new HDTV from here and the salesman took way too much time dealing with my wife and me. It's sad that they don't get commission, he definitely earned his pay dealing with us. The TV we decided on wasn't in stock but the salesman took care of getting it ordered from their warehouse and setting up an appointment for the Geek Squad to come out to install it once it comes in. I've had nothing but good experiences at this location. They know how to take care of the customer. Even had them track down an iPod a few weeks back that I was looking for. It has gotten to the point that I don't even shop around anymore. I usually do research on big ticket items and know what I want when I go into the store. I even had them match prices on items a few times. Yeah, I could have just gone to Wal-Mart where things are cheaper on some items. But why? I can get Best Buy to match the price, get the rewards points, and get killer financing. When was the last time you saw Wal-Mart offer 36 months interest free on anything. It's worth the three mile drive past them to get to Best Buy. I keep hearing some financial people talk about them going the same route as Circuit City. I hope not. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BIG BOX STORE... I realize Wally World is the typical place to shop for cheap deals, BUTTT if you want to learn about what you are about to purchase then I strongly suggest going to this store. The staff is always very nice, intelligent and knowledgable, and the management seems to kick right in when it appears that the staff is overwhelmed by other customers. Clean, the store and bathroom(s) (Ladies) is always immaculate, they even appear to have an in house cleaning person happily dancing around the store keeping up with the staff and especially the public's impromptu..boo boo's... this is good especially when you have young kids who like to touch everything they see. I love shopping here and recommend that you spend your money no where else. read more

Service is bad. Was going in there to get my computer cleaned. They say that it will be easy and all they have to do is go into the back and dust it out. They give me a appointment and when I go in there they say that my phone number hasn't had the 24/7 customer service renewed, that it would take 7 days to do (even though all they had to do was open it up and dust it) which I can't do because I have to use the computer for school, and that dusting the cooling fans doesn't have to do with how fast the computer overheats. All of which they should have told me when originally going there to schedule the appointment originally. read more

Stay away. We spent a large sum on appliances. They coaxed us into getting one of their credit cards. We used it. Paid it off immediately. Then months later started getting calls from CitiBank, which issues their credit cards, about a late fee. There was no balance, so how could there be a late fee? Check other reviews on the internet about this recurrent scam. The store tried to help, a little. But they're complicit in the scam. My advice is don't go near Best Buy unless you want to have your information stolen and then have a credit company try to scam you. read more
