Just moments ago completed a return on a Christmas gift. The item is defective! we made many efforts to fix the item via some online tips, it simply wasn't working. Took the item in and was told there would be a 15% restocking fee which I did see on the receipt, but I find mind-numbing that they would charge a restocking fee on something they had better not restock. I was very polite and simply asked about not paying that fee, given that I knew after having 20 years of retail experience, that it wasn't going back on the shelf and was likely going to be destroyed. A suggestion: your Yelp scores might improve if the person at the return desk did not take it upon herself to challenge me by telling me how much retail experience they have. Clearly they don't have enough if they are arguing with me. I will shop anywhere but Best Buy in the future, I don't care how good the deals are there. I purchased a new stereo and backup cameras to put on my Rav4. I actually purchased at the Bellevue location but had to come here for installation. When I came up here for my appointment I was told the auto specialist "couldn't" install my backup cameras because she "didn't know how" and has only been working for 3 months. Huge waste of time... I wasn't given an type of credit back or at least a simple apology. Now I have to go to the Lynwood location in a month, which is the next available appointment. I would have had a different outlook on this scenario if I had been treated better by the staff and been given a bit of empathy for my time traveling up to Best Buy all for nothing. My issue in question is with Best Buy in general, I ordered online. During my ordering process, I noticed my order was specifically being shipped from the Everett Mall location. In June of this year, I purchased an awesome Samsung dishwasher for total $831.56 with installation taxes etc (shipping was free at least!) The first issue with this whole ordeal was the installation. The employees of Best Buy installation, left parts on my dining room table and kitchen floor. Some parts were clearly experimental and did not seem to fit my model of dishwasher. The part on the ground seemed to just keep everything in place, the 'kickplate' as I have learned it is called. I ignored this part of the process, as the machine was working just fine. Our home is not the newest model, I was having some leaking issues underneath my sink, so naturally I called a plumber. There were some underlying issues with my leak, but the most prominent was that of the dishwasher installation. I have been in touch with someone willing to help me if I supply the payment for the parts in question. I contacted Best Buy in order to attempt to resolve this situation. I was told I would receive a $150 gift card as well as repairs to my appliance. Weeks have passed and neither of those promises have been kept. I have been at home dealing with deep personal issues that keep me from making my dishwasher a huge issue. Not to mention, the state at which the world is in, make it easy to accept waiting long periods of time for customer service issues to be dealt with. I was not even upset at this point. The point I became the most upset, was when the dishwasher in question stopped working. Again, no gift card, no repairs. I called corporate, feeling like a 'Karen' when my husband and I have both worked in the customer service field for years. But I simply wanted a working dishwasher, to hell with the gift card, I just want my dishwasher working. During this customer service call, I was told I had received a gift card as well as service, which I had not. While the representative was doing their best to help me, we were still seeming to butt heads and not be on the same page, I ended up getting my husband involved as a result. We were told we could pay a $100 fee for someone to come out, POSSIBLY repair the dishwasher (no guarantees, just a possibility) and we would receive a full refund upon repairs. This is not something, we should be asked to do as a consumer, simply attempting to resolve this issue without further issues. With this all being said, I ADORE Best Buy and their products. Their customer service is NORMALLY amazing and keeps me coming back to repurchase. However, my husband and I would not accept this. There was a lot of back and fourth during this time with my husband and the supervisor, who was clearly unwilling to help us. At this point in the conversation with my husband and "Kenneth" , the call simply 'cut off', seeming to drop. Just as many other calls had resulted. My husband and I were loyal customers to Best Buy, not only due to their products but as previously stated, their superb customer service, this time they have disappointed us. read more

My name is Jonathan Ussery. I made an appointment with the Geek Squad to have my Iphone screen fixed a few days ago. My appointment was set for 4:40pm today (10/4/21). I got to the store at 3:40 and asked if I could be seen early. The geek squad employee there mentioned that they could not see me till ten minutes before my appointment (4:30pm). I walked around the store and browsed a bit, even asked another store associate the difference between the ring flood lights on display. I came back to the geek squad desk at 3:30 and the associate saw me after a few minutes and asked how he could help. I again mentioned that I had a 4:40pm appointment and he grabbed another geek squad employee to assist me. This young lady asked me to wait at another counter, which I did, patiently. The original employee saw me again and asked if someone was helping me, to which I replied, "not at the moment". He left again and the second lady came back and asked me why I was there. I showed her the screen of my phone (which lifts off fully from the device; it's broken) and stated that I wanted the screen replaced with an apple brand screen ( I stated that this current screen was third party, and it showed). She took the phone and (for some reason) mentioned that they needed to run some routine diagnostics on the phone. Now I know exactly what that means because I wasn't born yesterday in the tech sector, but I played along anyway. I unlocked the screen for her and let her look up everything she wanted to see. I even signed her consent form. I asked if they had the screens in stock and she said she had to check (that surprised me, because I'd assume that if you accepted an appointment from me several days in advance, it would only be because you had the resources to do so). At this point she left to check. After a few minutes she came back to the desk and stated that they did in fact have the screen, but it would have to be full price (which I initially didn't have a problem with until this next part), but additionally their repair guy was leaving for the day and, even though I had an appointment, they wouldn't be able to see me till the next day. I marveled at how useful it would have been to know at 3:40pm that my appointment, which I made days in advance, would not happen at all. If the original employee had mentioned that their repair guy quits at 4:40pm, I could have made other arrangements. If the second employee had mentioned this factoid before she sent me to sit down, I could have saved myself another 20-30 minutes. Why put me through all of that and then tell me "we don't have time to do our jobs". This was ridiculous, and if this keeps up, Amazon is gonna eat you guys alive. I don't like Jeff Bezos, but so far his people are far better at customer service than you are. read more

Yes, I was past the 30 day return policy, but it was it was stiil brand new packaging and device. I would have been happy with in-store credit! I purchased a netbook at this store, and a Geeksquad warranty just so I wouldn't have to deal with mailing it in if something went wrong. I researched the netbook very well before I purchased it, so I knew what I was getting and was very happy with it. I upgraded the memory in it when I got it home. A few months after purchasing it, one of the keys popped off. Best Buy said to bring it in and they'd send it to the manufacturer to get it repaired. The manufacturer wanted me to pay to ship it to them so this seemed like a good deal to me. I asked at Best Buy if I should remove my upgraded memory and I was told that I needed to have memory in it so it could be tested, so I left the memory in. It should have been no big deal, I could have purchased the popped off key for $5 on e-bay. Weeks went by and they didn't call me. Finally I gave up and went into the store. They had no record of receiving my netbook. I went home and retrieved my paperwork and returned. They then found it and told me the manufacturer no longer carried my model and so I could choose a different netbook off the shelf. No, I couldn't get my old one back because it had been scrapped. No, sorry, I couldn't have my upgraded memory back either. I didn't like anything they were selling in the same price range so they said I could pay to upgrade to something comparable to what I had left with them. No, they wouldn't replace my lost memory. The person I had spoken to when I left it, of course had no memory of ever speaking to me about it. The manager of the store didn't even want to talk to me. In fact he kept saying he'd be right back and never returning. I had to follow him around and refuse to take no for an answer. It should not have been as hard as it was to get even close to a satisfactory agreement with him. He wanted me to just take a crappy netbook and call it even. I did end up taking a crappy netbook which I hate, but I got him to give me the upgraded memory at a discount (which was about what I'd have paid online anyway). He was about as rude and angry at this point as one could get. The only satisfaction I had was knowing I'd spent two hours totally ruining his day. I now have a netbook I hate and will NEVER spend another dime at Best Buy. Up until this incident my husband and I were fairly frequent shoppers there. Now I tell everyone my experience and have saved a lot of people from having to deal with the kind of horrific experience I did. So Best Buy, you saved a couple of hundred dollars by not making me a happy customer a year or so ago. And since then I've shopped elsewhere and cost you many other customers. Had a pretty rough experience there. Went there to purchase a camera. While checking out, I took quite a bit of verbal abuse from the employee at the check out stand. When I asked to speak with her manager, she claimed she was the manager. I asked to speak to another manager that was available. She said there was no one else, and she actually had to attend to another issue. While I stood there in disbelief, she proceeded to pick up my camera and move it to the next counter where someone else was checking out. She left to the back of the store. Bought the camera anyway for some reason (I know, I know, I should have just walked out, but it's a badass camera and I wanted it ;)). Called the store to get that manager's name, only to find out she wasn't a manager at all. I was flat out lied to as a customer. Yikes. Bad Business practice. It's amazing that one employee can really effect the entire business. I know I have since stopped shopping at Best Buy because of this interaction. I have bought electronics and appliances at best buy Everett over the last few years. Pro: + selection and seasonal promotions are great. + the credit card had 0% financing for big purchases + price matching + warranty honoring, I have returned broken products with no issue and had them make things right when they have made mistakes. + staff are way more understanding and helpful than the lyneood location for price matching and expired cupons. Staff Tip: Stefanie and Garret have been very helpful and understanding, they look for a solution they best they can. George on the other hand did try to help us apply all the discounts avaliable but with our W/D purchase we needed a side vent kit installed. He ensured is the 3rd party could do it (took a week) then they would not do it on delivery day. He said the store would refund us to get it done but placed the burden on me to find someone to do it and hold the risk of paying for it. It was really dissapointing. Con: - responsiveness of the staff - 3rd party delivery that don't keep their commitment - crime, two or the times I have had staff drug out the door with a electronics theft, no bad on the store but it's a bit ghetto at this location. Bottom line I still come here from Bothell even with other stores closer to me. read more

Okay, usually places like this I usually go in, get what I want and get out. With places like the customer service is something I rarely consider because it's usually half-assed anyways and lacks any kind of sincerity. But in this case, and what prompted me to write a review of Best Buy / Geek Squad was my experience with their repair services. So here's the long of it: Last spring I purchased a video camera from Best Buy. An upgrade from what I've been using, I was pretty happy with the purchase. About three months later...at a Mariner's game and right in the middle of Ken Griffey Jr's induction into the Mariner's Hall of Fame, the camera stopped working. To top it off, we were leaving for a trip back east in a couple of days. So I take it back to Best Buy in Everett, where I purchased it to see if I could possibly exchange it for a working one, after all it's only been like 90 days and I had the receipt, box, all the parts. They said no, but that they could send it out for repairs which should be covered so I wouldn't have to pay anything. No response that I was leaving for a trip and really wanted to have it for that, just that all they could do is repair it. So the gal does a once over on the camera to make sure I didn't drop it, or get it wet...nothing, it was perfect condition...aside from not working. Estimate I was given...two weeks. So we get back from the east coast and I had another week of vacation and I thought I'd have my camera back by then. By that second week I get another call, but not from Best Buy/Geek Squad, from some third pary repair service that they contract with. I'm like okay...so they tell me that although something was covered, I think it was labor, I would have to pay for any replacement parts and that they would get back to me with a quote. Estimate date of return was another two weeks. So I get a call back and the estimate is like $128 bucks. I'm like okay...just get it done. Two weeks later I get a call and they are like,"yeah, we are unable to determine the damage of the camera." So they would need to send it back to Panasonic...so I make a little noise about how at that point it's been a month already, they say there's not much they can do about it so off it goes to Panasonic...estimated turn around 3 weeks. 3 weeks later I get a call and it's to tell me that the camera needs a new board or something and I'm like, GREAT, at least someone finally figured it out...another two weeks is tacked on. At this point, it's damn near the end of September, and we were expecting our first baby in October...something I really wanted to have that camera for. So two weeks go by and I get another call back...Yeah, they are having some issues locating the part, apologized and said in a couple more weeks I should have it back. I'm like, damn, I'm not going to have a camera for my baby's birth. Then in October, my baby was born...I still didn't have a video camera and I get a call. They informed me that they didn't have the part and it wouldn't be in until February of 2014. At this point it's only October 2013...I had originally dropped off the camera in August of 2013...Completely frustrated I told them forget about it, send the damn camera back unrepaired. So two weeks later...they have this thing for two weeks....I get a call from Best Buy, my camera is ready to pick up, so I go there the same day. Then the guy giving me my camera whips out this paper work, says I have to sign it. But I read it first, good thing too because by signing it said that I confirm and agree that work has been completed to my satisfaction...etc. etc. Well I refuse and Deiter...that's what I called him in my head because short of a black turtle neck, he was like Mike Myers on SNL's....was like, I can't give it to you unless you sign in which I replied that well, by signing it says you guys fixed my camera which it isn't so I'm not going to sign it...kinda looked dumb founded and said okay. I then took my camera, walked to the video camera section, saw that they didn't sell that model any more and the only one left was the display model for like $80.00, so I said what the hell, picked it and thought, damn, I would've spent more on the repair. So there you have it...the one star was for their consistent follow up calls to tell me two or three more weeks. At least they had good communication...just crappy service. Will I ever buy stuff (electrionics, DVD's, BR's, Games etc.) from Best Buy? Sure.. Will I ever use their Geek Squad/Repair service again? Oh HELL NO! read more

Do Not Buy an Appliance Here. My wife and I gave Best Buy a chance when we were looking for a refrigerator. Being a Best Buy member we were thinking we would get rewards for it here as opposed to anywhere else. The Delivery Sucked! No nice way to say it. They gave me a 4 hour window and missed the appointment 3 times. They only called 8 hours later to see how the install went, but it hadn't happen yet. They rescheduled for another 4 hour window and they still didn't show up. They rescheduled again for another 4 hour window saying "I'll be the first delivery." I ended up waiting around another couple hours probably because I was the 2nd delivery. Each rescheduled visit they promised me $100 gift cards for the inconvenience but it has been weeks and we have not seen it. I think they say that to you over the phone just to keep you at bay until the delivery is over. I went into a Best Buy store to ask the about it and they deny ever offering it and point me to another department to call. The other department has yet to return my call. Bottom line is that they waste your time and don't communicate to you. No matter how often I called the only thing they could tell me was to keep waiting. Their prices aren't any better than Home Depot or Lowes or Sears... Don't waste your time just buy somewhere else. read more

THIS REVIEW IS REFERENCING THE CAR AUDIO DEPARTMENT ONLY! EXPERIENCE: I went in, ready to pay for and schedule an appointment to bring my car in and get some hardware installed that I had already bought from a friend. The "greeter" in the store referred me to speak with Jason (I believe that was his name... he had several tattoos). I go in, get some info, then leave. Call back the following day and schedule an appointment to come in 2 days later. I show up 2 days later, he recalled our conversation saying to cancel the appointment.... but he apparently had an opening for when I showed up (go figure), so we started the process. He pulled my car in (per their rules), and when he shut it off, it made a quick screeching sound. He claimed it was the transmission getting stuck in between two gears and saying it was common with Chevy's. I had never heard that sound before, and it scared the shit out of me thinking he broke something. He then wants me to sign a paper saying that was a prior condition. I insist that he drive the car out of the shop, put it in park, then drive back in (only Best Buy employees can drive in and out of the facility). After a bit of talking, he went ahead with it with a pissy mood. I became very uncomfortable. While trying to start it up, the key got stuck in the "ignition" position, and he left it there squeaking like he had no idea what was going on (that IS a prior condition with my car, but he just has to manually turn it to the "on"position). I had to rush over to the car and turn it off then turn it on for him. Ultimately, he drives out, then drives back in and it makes that squeak sound when he shuts the car off. In my head, I'm thinking "fuck this shit... I need to get my car out of here ASAP" and pretty much told him that I wasn't going to sign any papers and that he should just pull my car out. After finally getting my car back, I honestly drive it around and parked it and shut the car off like 5 times within a few minutes to confirm what was happening to my car. It drove, ran, started, and shut off flawlessly. I still have no idea what he did to make that screeching noises (which came from the engine compartment).... He did refer me to Car Toys (that same day I got it installed there), which was just down the road, so that was nice of him. It seemed like he got much more personal and customer-service oriented the moment my car left his shop... it truly was unusual. FINAL THOUGHTS: Avoid *this* Best Buy when it comes to car audio. Non-Commission also implies cheaper, less experienced labor. So with Best Buy you get the worst of both worlds: higher prices and poorer service. I am very late in writing this review, but finally decided to take the time to do it. This Best Buy is the ONLY one I've ever visited (and I've visited many, throughout the country) where the salesperson at the checkout counter was absolutely RUDE and DISMISSIVE. To add insult to injury, she fawned over the couple in line ahead of me, who happened to be employed at a well-known local employer (which came out during their drawn out conversation). I assumed she would extend the same level of courtesy to me, perhaps without all of the extra chit-chat. However, despite my patient wait (while she chatted them up) and the fact that I was smiling and in a good mood during our exchange (at least initially), this salesperson refused to look me in the eye, frowned at me during the entire exchange, and seemed totally disinterested in processing my purchase. Why? I have no idea. I was well-dressed, courteous, and patiently waited my turn. I was floored by this young lady's obvious lack of customer service skills. My husband and I purchased a new washer and dryer at this Best Buy. We opted out of the extra "Geek Squad" product warranty, and the young man that assisted us with our purchase assured us that the warranty that came with the washer and dryer, through the manufacturer, was more than sufficient. Our appliances were finally delivered and installed, and we happily starting putting them to use. But after a few loads we discovered that the ducting was put on incorrectly, they had damaged it, and damaged our ceiling and pipe as well. We called and explained and a 3rd party contractor came after 3 or 4 days. They told us they could not repair all the damage and that Best Biy would send an HVAC at their expense and would contact us. We heard from no one and finally called ourselves. After many promises, we waited again for a call or email and in the end, we're told they would not fix their damage unless we bought the Geek Squad coverage or filed a claim with their legal department. We are apalled and strongly suggest that you do not support this store. read more

After waiting for 2.5 hours while the guy "attempted to activate and transfer my things from phone 1 to 2 he said leave it with me run some errands come back later. Told him OK, but don't lose my pictures....I had pictures from Germany and photos of my you 7 grandkids. Came back 3 hours later and he says, "your phone did a factory reset all by itself your photos are lost. Take it to Best Buy" Driving to Best Buy I was fuming. Geek squad says they can't recover them, BUT he says let's go talk to my Samsung Techs. He walked us over and put us in the hands of Miranda and Jessica. Oh my goodness, these 2 are so knowledgeable and so nice. Jessica retrieved some of my pictures, I was in heaven!! They also told us about free Samsung classes. Sign us up!!! This is pretty much just like every other Best Buy. Mostly over priced but there when you need it. There are always sales people all over the sales floor, whether you need one or not. But it's nice knowing I'm not out there on my own... though the laptop "guy" didn't seem to really know much about the laptops, so I suggest doing your own research before buying one here. The shelves are mostly kept well stocked and the store is always relatively clean. Beware if you plan on getting yourself a five-finger-discount though... I seen one woman be tucked in a small room with like 5 big guys staring her down as she went through her purse... they take theft very serious and are on high alert! Needed a new laptop and their prices were as good as any on line, and knowing that I could return it easily if there was an issue was a big selling point. I always do my research ahead of time so I knew the machine I wanted. Upon entrance I was greeted by a friendly hello, can I help you find anything. Since I knew where to go I didn't need any help....but it is nice for them to acknowledge your presence. I found the machine and less than a minute later a sales assistant arrived. He did not try to up sell me or have me buy anything unnecessary. Overall a pleasant buying experience with no extra garbage. A few days later I noticed a keyboard glitch, so I called the store. The "Geeksquad" guy was very professional. The thing that impressed me was when he told me that it is important that I am 100% satisfied with my laptop. He is right! Kudos to the training department. When I took the laptop in they were able to diagnose the "problem" which was a hyper sensitive touch pad. Very easy fix and I was on my way. While I was there I was listening to how they were handling others issues and I have to say I was impressed. BB gets a lot of negative marks but from my own experience....and I have shopped here before I'd have to say they handle my needs quite well. I will purchase from this store again. read more

The person who took my laptop told me the surface pro breaks all the time and it should only take about 3 days to reboot the system. He assured me they would call when it was repaired. I never received a call, so I kept calling myself. Finally I stopped in on 2/2/2018. My laptop was there but the detachable keyboard was not. When I pointed this out to the agent behind the counter. He informed me they did not have any written proof that the keyboard was attached when I dropped it off. After discussing the matter in great length with the agent. I had to leave due to being late for work. I had to return again the next day. I pointed out one of the many surveillance cameras, and asked them to review the film. They told me to have a seat. I was left waiting for over an hour. The manager, whose name was Aaron, then returned and informed me they reviewed the footage. He said they found me walking in with the laptop but the film was a little blurry and they could not verify the keyboard. He then offered me a discount if I wanted to buy a new one. My boyfriend and I walked in, thinking that we just wanted a price comparison on an iMac...and we ended up walking away with one. Hussain and Eduardo helped us out more than any Apple Store employee ever did. We didn't feel rushed and their combined knowledge was amazing. We were able to ask all our questions, without feeling like an idiot and they even brought up some points/information we didn't even think about! Eduardo did all the price checks/comparisons , without us even having to ask. He was really patient and very informative. They were honest and didn't try to push a product on us that we didn't want. They really had our interests in mind. And as a person in the customer service industry, they did a great job. Any further Apple products we want to purchase, will be bought here. Additionally, it was also nice to be able to test the products without having to battle others (which is a contrast to the Apple store). I took my car in to have a new head unit and a speaker installed, I also told him that one speaker slot did not work and I was hoping that they would test and find the problem, so that everything would work. 4 hours later he finely finished and the one speaker slot that didn't work, still doesn't work. He told me that I needed to take it to a mechanic because it may be a fuse or something. Now I am finding out that a microphone was suppose to come with my head unit because it will connect to my phone, no microphone was installed in my car and no microphone was in the box after he installed it. I would absolutely do less stars if I could, and I will Never spend another dollar at Best (worst) Buy again. My husband ordered a product online for his parents (mind you we spent $1700 on it) and they went to pick it up. We got a confirmation text that the order would be ready for KELLY which was the person picking it up, when they got there, they said that the only way to pick it up was if I was there. Even though we specifically put their name on it for pick up. Then they were willing to buy one off the shelf, and the manager wouldn't allow them. My husband then called to figure out what was going on and nobody had any answers. We have called multiple times and gotten more and more frustrated with nobody giving us any answers and why we cannot pick up this item. The people have just been rude, unhelpful and then proceed to HANG UP ON US when we get frustrated. We are not cussing at them, or being rude just clearly frustrated and trying to understand what is going on!! They have been no help and lost our business. We ordered direct and got a better discount, so it all worked out. But the customer service was unacceptable and we will never spend money with them again! Next time, you guys should EXPLAIN to your customers the problem instead of just telling people the product they paid for, is unable to be picked up. PEOPLE WANT TO KNOW WHY, especially when they are spending almost $2000.
