I spent about 45 minutes on the phone with Geek Squad today. I was transferred 5 times between Geek Squad and what Geek Squad called Sales. Each pair of persons pointed to the other department as able to answer my question. None of them could. Two people from Geek Squad had terrible attitudes. Horrible service. I then called the Everett store, which has notoriously bad service, and was told that they were too busy to help. I finally convinced someone in Bellevue to help. Terrible experience. read more

Being assisted dumb and dumber is what I get asking for help. First off, a "mobile specialist" told me the cable I purchased was compatible with the new iPhone charger when it's not. Looked odd to me, so double checked at the check out stand. The girl there tells me she thinks it is but if it isn't I can still return even if it's been opened. Common sense but since I'm already there the point is I want to buy the right damn one and not go through hassle of returning. I asked her if she could open it and just double check. Her response was yeah but you would have to pay for it. That makes no sense? If I purchase it, have to return it compared to opening it there, and having it be the wrong one and paying for it??? She goes to the "mobile specialists" to verify and comes back saying it is correct. GUESS WHAT! Its still the wrong one. How are their so many workers there but they don't know wtf they're selling or saying for that matter. read more

A few days ago I came in to buy a laptop. After looking around quite a bit I decided on one that had an open box marking and as such had a reduced price. It seemed like a great deal to me goven the specs of the model and the box marking which had only "scratches and dents" listed on it. No big deal, as long as it was functional. The gentleman on the floor was friendly during checkout and I had no real problem on that visit. When I got home however, I opened the laptop to find two long cracks in a V formation on the touchscreen. They're not immediately noticeable when the screen is illuminated so I wasn't too fussed about it at first, given the discount I received it at. I set it up and attempted to begin working on it, only to find that because of the cracks, it was unresponsive to any of my various stylus pens I use for work. Today I had a day off so I called ahead and explained the situation and was assured it wouldn't be an issue exchanging it. However when I arrived I was met with nothing but frustration. The first girl I talked to said she could not ok it because it was damaged, but she would ask her supervisor, which was fine. The supervisor then proceeded to tell me that because it was damaged she wouldn't return it because of the cracks, opting to call the manager when I told her they were there when I had opened it, citing the fact that it had been set up. The manager was no more helpful, and said that they have "strict inspections" before they're put on the shelf, and refusing to hear any possibility of it having been dropped or damaged before I had purchased it, despite it having been on an open shelf. They would not even allow an exchange for the same model. In the past three days I have paid hundreds of dollars for a broken machine, been called a liar by 2 separate Best Buy employees, and refused any exchange on a defective product sold at their own store just 3 days prior. I've purchased plenty of products from Best Buy in the past, and had intended to purchase the professional devices for my employees here, but given this experience and the indications of other reviews of this location, I will not be doing so, for myself or for the employees of my design firm. read more

Ive always found good deals here. The customer service is good when its actually your turn with an employee. The employees always seem to know their product well. But its always busy and theres always a long wait just to get an employee over to help you. But they do seem well trained tho, so thats good when you have a ton of questions like I always do! I don't even know where to begin with this store! It makes me sick every time I am near this place! First off, If you are like husband, and myself. You thrive on excellent customer service! When we walk into a store, we except NOTHING but excellent customer service. #1, We were in there trying to buy a tv. Roughly from the top of my head, The one we wanted was about $500 to $600. When we went in, we were pretty much told that our money was not green enough. We called to talk to a manager, "mike" who was gonna give us a great deal on the tv because of our problems. Long behold when we went in the store the next day, There are 5 Mike employees/managers, and nobody knew anything about our conversation. In the end, we did not buy ANY tv. #2, We went to get pricing and info on getting Subs / Speakers the whole nine yards in our Audi. The sales associate didn't know Jack about Jack. We left extremely frustrated. We will not plan on getting anything for our car there. #3, We needed a printer, So where do we go? Best Buy (Only god knows why my husband keeps going back there). We spent about $200 on our printer, regardless that we are very happy with the purchase. But the employee we talked to. ONCE AGAIN, didn't know Jack about Jack. Do these employees get ANY training??? #4, While we were in buying the printer, we saw a TV on sale. It's been two weeks since then, and this happened about an hour ago. I called in to see if they had any of the tv's left. The lady whom answered the phone was VERY rude. So my husband called in, and she answered again, and she ended up hanging up on him when he asked for a manager. To end the short story. I guess the TV's were on sale when we saw them. Now they are not on sale. We are gonna attempt to go in on Friday and buy it, AT SALE PRICE. Might be asking for too much. Who knows if they actually pulled it aside for us. Only the future can tell. Long story short, if you're short tempered like me, You like to get in and out of the store with what you're looking for. Best Buy in Everett is not the place to be. I can't wait until we move North. Hopefully Best Buy up there will treat us better. Take the time, travel a little farther to the other cities. And spend your money at a different Best Buy!!! ***UPDATE*** We DID buy the tv. And what a problem that was! I think we spent more time trying to find the employee *Not to mention name, he was VERY polite* They claimed they had SIX employees with his name. We asked to speak to the manager "Shelly", first we heard that she was busy, then the other manager said she wasn't actually in. and he "Mark" Mark #1 who knows how many else there was. But he refused to give us the next time she would be in the store for us to complain. He was a complete RUDE, PRICK. I am putting my foot down over my husband, and I will NOT be shopping there again. This TV was my last drawl. Tomorrow (Monday) I will be calling Best Buy headquarters. I want something DONE about this customer service. I can't stomach it anymore. Original Rate: I rated my experience at this Best Buy location four stars because, initially, I was beyond satisfied with the service I received as the sales representative who helped me, Dustin, was very knowledgeable with the products that I sought. One of my items included the iBUYPOWER gaming desktop, after bringing the product home, I found that it did not come with a disc drive, yet had three discs that I was supposed to install on the desktop itself, I went back and purchased an external disc drive just to spend four hours installing various software for nothing as I ended up exchanging the desktop because it "must have been a dud." The new desktop works wonderfully, although I have experienced a problem with one of the HDMI ports, which has been explained since, but I had a very hard time with the national geek squad as both female representatives I spoke with didn't seem very knowledgeable. Although I had difficulty with quite a few employees, there were a few that were exceptionally helpful, patient, and kind. The manager, Justin, and the employees, Jordan,Salvador, and Dustin, as well as another employee whose names I don't recall, saved this rating from being three stars. EDIT: After being bounced around on the phone, I spoke to the manager, Jordan (while I was typing the original post). He was very kind and told me that I would receive a call back within 30 minutes. I called back an hour later, the sales rep told me he would contact me shortly as he was dealing with a customer. I called back another hour later THREE TIMES because the first two times, whoever answered immediately hung up! I asked for the manager, Jordan, by name, instead, another manager, Gabe, answered and told me that (I'm paraphrasing) if my issue doesn't resolve itself within the next few days, I can contact them and complain some more. I've wasted so much time (and gas) dealing with this issue, I feel that I should be compensated.. read more

We were searching for a 75" Sony TV during the holiday and we stopped by the Everett store since our pet goes to the Petsmart next door. We were looking for an open-box to reduce the cost. The sales rep was very helpful and showed us the best TV they have in the store and suggest us with options since the price is a bit out of our budget. He (I can't remember if his name is Jim or James) even helped us look for open-box in other stores in the area and found 1 for us. Talk about self-less! He of course also gave us options to keep our business there and the pros of getting a new TV. It took us 2 days to make a decision. We visited the Bellevue store and the people there were so rude that we left within 10' and drove back to Everett store even though our house is closer to the Bellevue and Lynnwood store. It's just because of the customer service. It does make a difference! Then we got Garrett helping us again! He helped us with the washer and dryer 1 year ago, so it was really nice to be able to work with him again and had a little chat. If I could give a zero star review on here I would it started two weeks ago when my first laptop crashed after only owning it two years and I bought it from Best Buy and I only used it for work I go in buy a new laptop and they sold me a chrome book which is not compatible for my work and I told him what I did for a living which I'm in real estate then I go and get another laptop which was not compatible for other reasons and then they sell me a third laptop that was a open box laptop. Which means somebody returned it they downloaded my external hard drive and it turned out there was a virus on the Lenova lap top that Jose sold me he said he was very experienced and he could fix it I had to keep coming back Wednesday and the virus was still there and then again Friday the virus was still there. This is drug out two weeks and I'm back to square one hi I'm warning you guys don't go to Best Buy in Everett they're incompetent I went into speak to the manager last Saturday and she was not friendly at all did not apologize and did not take accountability for anything when I bought my last laptop three years ago the people there were amazing and the service was good I called so many times in two weeks I never got return phone calls I asked to speak to the manager more than once and I never got calls back I moved my business elsewhere and I'm really happy with Staples they are amazing there they give you the time a day and excellent customer service I repeat don't go to geek squad in Everett you'll regret it read more

WORST Best Buy experience ever! I went in with my 7 year old son to buy a gaming LCD TV and Roku 3. So support needed from a sales person. I just needed to pay my $500 and leave. The TV guy insisted that he could quickly handle the transaction in the TV area. I didn't care, as long as it was quick. It went from Helpful to Pure Apathy when I told him I didn't want an extended warranty. It was rather strange. He just mumbled and got all pissy. My son and I just looked at eachother. He was short and just pointed to things. I almost walked out, but I made it a learning experience for my Son. We pushed out our cart and showed our receipt to the door guy. He was exactly the same. No thank you. No acknowledgement or appreciation. I asked is there a problem "Is there a problem". He said "No" and mumbled something. I spent $500 and didn't hassle anyone or even ask for help. I got no service whatsoever. I could have bought this stuff at other retailers or online at Amazon for the same price and no hassle. Circuit City was the same way before they folded. Best Buy will be the same, if they continue to give me reasons to buy online. In fact, this visit to this Best Buy pushes me deeper into Amazon territory than ever. I hope Best Buy management reads this. I will also be doing their online survey in much higher detail. The lesson my son learned was priceless. It boils down to "Do your job". Serve your customer. That is the only reason why you have a job. No customer...no job. That is why it is called "service". Clearly, the employees at this Best Buy think their job is to do as little as possible and even be rude to customers. In the end, my son learned how NOT to act. read more

I have been to several Best Buy locations. None of them have service to write home about; however, this location in Everett is the WORST one I have entered. I had called ahead and asked an employee if they had a keyboard I needed, she said yes and I asked if they would hold it. I also asked if they could hold it for a few days, and she said yes. when I went in to get the keyboard, they had put it back on the shelves, and of course they were out. when I explained my frustration, the lady at the desk was beyond rude, did not care whatsoever what happened. As I picked out a new keyboard and was rung up, the cashier was also beyond rude to me, and did not even ask how I was. All in all, a very bad store with bad employees. If they are mistreated then that needs to stop, and if they are just rude, then a manager needs to evaluate their staff. read more

Since I work right next to Everett Mall I stop in at Best Buy with some regularity. Most recent/large transaction-bought my Mom & Stepdad a WII for Christmas-ordered online for store pickup-I think I was in/out w/ friendly service in less than 15 min's. (They were slammed at the time). I did have to exchange the WII as the sensor bar wasn't working, but even that was a quick 15 minute trip w/ a very nice employee-no hassle, brought my receipt, she told me to go ahead & grab a new one & I was done. Most recently, my husband & I went in to buy a new plasma-we knew pretty much what we wanted-Plasma, 46-50", 600/120 w/ internet if possible (we had the Panasonic Viera 46" before-it had a little accident lol) under $1K. First day my husband was looking at the Samsung-based on all the negative reviews & multiple listings for refurbished ones online I was very leary (Panasonics customer service was excellent w/ our old TV), so we got the paperwork printed out from the employee & left. The employee that helped us was very nice & answered tons of questions as we've never owned a Samsung before & weren't sure about wanting the 3D either. I went online again that night & we decided to not go w/ the 3D Samsung & stay with the Panasonic Viera. So next day we go back & we actually run into a guy we went to school with that works there-in the TV section. So my opinion for this sell is obviously somewhat biased as we knew the guy, but overall, our purchase was handled extremely well. Everyone was nice, helpful, didn't try to upsell, listened to our concerns & questions were answered quickly. Having the video game systems available for play during our visit also helped keep my 5 year old son entertained :) Overall, I have never had bad service here-from just picking up a DVD or video game to buying TV's-everyone has always been nice & helpful. read more

FRAUD! A cautionary tale - maybe this has happened to you (and I didn't hear about it!) but between Best Buy and TCL, I ran into a scam that came from a different direction (other than Craigslist, phone, email, etc.) than ever before. I almost swallowed hook, line and sinker. I got to the sinker and wised up. I don't know where to place the blame (other than with myself) but between the three of us, the following unfolded. I a bought a 55" TCL TV from Best Buy. While going through the setup steps associated with Google the question came up on the screen asking if I wanted to link to my phone via Amazon. A code came up on the screen that I entered on my phone. But an error message said that my Amazon account was blocked and I needed to contact Amazon. I dialed the number on the phone (855-935-4882). A man saying "Amazon" answered. Now that I think about it, this is not the typical greeting. This should have been my first cause for suspicion. He said my Amazon account was locked and routed me to another man who said to unlock my Amazon account he needed to download Teamviewer Quicksupport. Linking into my phone or computer is nothing new. Now he's in my phone. Then we open up my Amazon account. Based on other technical issues, this seemed to be an acceptable way to resolve mine. I told him I couldn't understand why there was a block on my account since I had just ordered an item 2 hours earlier. This should have been the first red flag telling me something was not right. But I continued, believing I was talking to Amazon about a TV I had bought at Best Buy. The second red flag I ignored was when I gave them access to my online bank account. THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN - and I thought I knew that. Evidently not. I did baulk at this and so was transferred to a third man, a "Supervisor". He said they needed to have my debit card number. I tell him I only use my credit card on my Amazon account (fraudesters have a harder time with credit cards) so he says we need to do this by adding a gift card to my account - a third red flag. I do baulk at this and ask if this is a scam (like that's going to do any good). "No sir, this is what we need to do to remove the block on your Amazon account," he says. But things are still not working for him. The transaction is taking too long. This gives me time to think. By now my wife is listening and confirming that this is ABSOLUTELY not SOP. It's almost like I'm caught in a tractor beam and can't break free. But the final straw - and so obvious even an idiot could see it for what it was - was when he asked me to go to a local store to buy something. I don't remember what it was. I don't think it was a gift card. Now my wife and I both blew up and hung up. He called back. We've spent the last 2 days contacting any companies affected by compromised accounts in my name or with my name on it (wife, kids) and changing those account numbers. I hope this adds to the list of scams in use and tells you that as soon as something appears even slightly out of the norm to hang up. Then call the company you are supposedly dealing with (in my case Amazon) and ask them if this is their process. Season's Greetings! read more

People were gracious, friendly and very helpful. I almost always buy my technology from Best Buy. I have had great experience and always seem to get the right technology rather than a good price on the wrong product or having salespeople talk down to me. I am pretty tech savvy, but this stuff evolves all the time so there is a lot of confusion when shopping. Good salespeople help this process immeasurable. I came into the store with an appointment as they are an Apple certified retailer. The first thing said to me, before any greeting was - "we are new at this and may not be able to help you and this may take much longer than the time frame you were given". After standing around for over a half hour, without being told what they were doing other than "we are trying to run diagnostics", they simply said there is nothing we can do for you. No apologies, no attempt to call Apple for help. Worst Geek Squad experience ever and the worst customer service I have seen in a long time. read more

Chris the installer was AWESOME, EXCELLENT, after my appointment in Lynnwood was canceled thirty minutes from my time due to the installer change of job or whatever. Chris at Everett told me he could get me in the same day gave me the same price I had been given in Lynnwood and he is excellent at customer service. He also had an assistant who looked like Mark Wahlberg and he was from Boston too, thought I was being punked. They finished my car quickly very friendly Best Buy give these guys a raise because they go above and beyond. read more

We came in for 2 things a tablet and a 65" tv, so we were going to drop about $3k...not 1 person approached us! There were 6 employees in the TV section alone, without customers. I just had the WORST experience Best Buy. Bought a new Samsung TV online and decided to exchange it for a higher end Samsung at the Best Buy (Everett, WA) location (spending nearly $1000). I was told I couldn't return it because there system wasn't tracking the order and I should wait for another day. Really? So I purchased the new one anyway and simply asked that they hold the old one until they can properly return it. NOPE! The Store Manager Justin and Team Lead Melinda refused to help. They only insisted that there is nothing they can do. How about try to think outside the box to help a customer? Rather, they decided to let a loyal customer have a very negative experience and have to lug TWO TV's back home just because they "don't have space" to hold my TV while they figure out how to track down the invoice to be able to process a return. BOTH levels of management were very rude and their patience to help a paying customer was very thin. read more

I lost a driver on my laptop and at 5:00 am I set an appointment with Best Buy for service so I would not have to wait. The first appointment they had was that day at 1:20 pm. I did like I was asked and got there five minutes. I was asked if I had an appointment, yes.....then i was told they were double booked and to have a seat. Now who's problem is that? Why do I have to pay for their mistakes. I booked an appointment for a reason. The gentleman that did help me was wonderful and took care of my driver at no cost. read more

Went in to look at laptops. I ended up.answering questions for their customers. I found the staff poorly trained and somewhat un-motivated. They get stars for being friendly. I came back a few days later after buying my laptop at the Northgate Best Buy to look at Chrome Books. The sales lady was top notch. She really new her Chrome Books. She wasn't wearing the typical blue polo shirt but a white polo shirt with a Chrome logo on it. My guess is that she worked for Google, or a marketing company contracted by Google. I bought the Chrome book. This experience saved them from getting one star. read more

Terrible customer service. An employee asked if he could help me find something. He said the items I wanted were in the back of the store and he would get them for me. I waited and he did not come back. I saw him helping another customer. I asked him and he said he decided to help someone else instead. Another staff offered to help me. When I told him what I was looking for he tried to talk me into getting something that was four times the price of what I was looking for. When I reminded him what I was looking for he tried to talk me into something that was three times the price of what I was looking for. He told me the three things I wanted were in the back of the store and he would get them. He came back with one item I asked for and one item I did not ask for. I had it and left empty handed. I would have purchased the one item I wanted, but the price of the item was less than the rewards rebate that I had. I was told I would need to purchase more items. The employee declined to go to the back of the store to get the other two items I wanted. read more

They ordered 2 headphones since they don't have the item in store and was told it should be in store in a week. Got confirmation text that order has been fulfilled came back to this store to check after a week, still not in store and was told to wait for the text that it would be ready for storepick up came back after few days again same response. Then after a MONTH of waiting got a text Order was cancelled. Came to store spoke to Team Lead Melinda who does not know what's going on insisted the item came but was not picked up, spoke to manager Justin confirmed it was cancelled by warehouse and never shipped. BAD customer service overall. I wonder how they got their job NO LONGER buying here. Go Amazon instead of dealing with this people. Save your time. read more

There are usually a few people that work at this store that can be very helpful on the technical side. All Best Buy stores price match, so it will always be the lowest prices. This store always has the stock I'm looking for. I've been to other stores where they don't have the movie or TV series I'm looking for and then I go to this one and they have a lot of it. This store is really good for movies, shows, and home entertainment stuff. I don't buy much else at Best Buy so I can't speak on the other departments. read more
