I own a media company and buy 4-5 DSLR and Cinema cameras per YEAR. Plus lens, memory cards, cords, etc. And I would NEVER buy it from BestBuy because of these issues. Sometimes we buy equipment for safety stock. In the event of a manufacturer defect after 14 days, we have to go direct to the manufacturer, which we have no relationship with. And often times they make it intentionally difficult to obtain contacts and get things warrantied. So having a trusted local big box store is a HUGE benefit for my business. My parents switched to Verizon and told me they had an excellent experience with Evan at Best Buy! He was so helpful and patient with us. We went into the store and purchased a large led TV and asked for it to be delivered and installed. The purchase experience went well of course and a delivery date was set for a Sunday so we could be home. We were told there would be a 12 hour window (all day) when the delivery could arrive. A day before the delivery it was narrowed to a 4 hour window. We planned our entire day around the delivery with furniture moved and dogs in cages as asked. When the delivery window provided closed, I text Best Buy for information. We were finally told "your delivery has been cancelled". No email, no text, no phone call advising us of a delivery issue. We're now told Tuesday between 7-7. We have jobs, and can't plan a full Tuesday and hope they can keep their word. This is exemplifies the kind of customer service people will walk away from a merchant to avoid. read more

Best Buy is still in the game, but I'm not sure for how long. The shelves are regularly sparse or bare these days and selection is random or slim; hopefully not taking the same path as Fry's. I still come to Best Buy to try to keep the business afloat because I like having a store close by that has something I can get today rather than wait for shipping, but this appears to be a diminishing reality. Best Buy appears to be raising their prices rather than posting prices at the traditional "Best Buy" price, which was usually a reasonable local price (not beating mega-online stores, but close enough to pay extra for convenience). It looks like their model has turned into the 'high-price posted so you can haggle it down by showing that (fulfilled by*) Amazon has it cheaper' model. Quite frankly, I'm tired of that game. I hate haggling, but I also hate the visible expectation of it. If every other store has it cheaper, why are you the "Best Buy"? I bought something there today. It was $20 more expensive than Amazon where I could get it by tomorrow with free shipping. $20 more than on the manufacturer's site as well (also with free shipping). That is about the most I'm willing to pay for convenience. I'm still trying, Best Buy... but please stay competitive without the need for the customer to haggle, it makes it very hard to refer people if I know I'm sending them in to a garage-sale like experience. read more

This store is pointless if you have a question. Don't even bother going to the Car Audio Department. Half of the demos worked. The other half aren't signed so you have no idea how much anything is. In their defense, a person did come up to me and ask if I needed help after I was trying to get the demos to work for ten minutes. But, once I asked the question, he responded "Yeah, no one here knows anything about car radios". Ok, dude, I guess I'll just leave instead of buying a new radio. I miss the old days of a store where you can ask questions and people can help you make a decision. Now, if you need something in an emergency and it just so happens to be on the shelf, you have the ability to buy it. I guess that's the "Best" they could do: let you "Buy" it. I will never buy another appliance from Best Buy and I have purchased over $4000 worth in the last year. Their customer service is the absolute worst. They leave parts off of their appliances and make you come into the store to get them to fix what they left off in the first place. They put you on endless Call centers somewhere in the world with people who cannot help you. They left off four small plastic parts totaling less than $20. And you would think it would be an easy fix. I am currently disabled and unable to go into the store, which is why I purchased online to begin with. Plus, no one in the store near me was able to help. I paid for the installation and the delivery guys were too inept to perform the install so I asked for a refund which they did not do. I had to schedule an independent third-party to Install. Now that I can run the dishwasher I noticed the wheels on the bottom drawer are missing. Simple fix right? Just send me some wheels right, wrong. I have been more than 14 days since the purchase. Why? I've been in the hospital with the back surgery. I cannot walk. I was unsuccessful purchasing the dishwasher at a store, and now I'm unable to go into a store to get them to fix what they screwed up in the first place. AFTER 40 mins of waiting Shaffer the store manager comes out to confront me on why they just feel like they do not want to price match Amazon after Dean make sure 40 mins ago they could . Shaffer made sure I knew they don't care to price match nor my time wasted and advise me to order on Amazon instead, they have also made sure I know that you cannot call into the store and cannot get a hold of Tom Castillo the general manager who they are certain wouldn't care anyways. I would recommend going anywhere else. The levels of incompetency that their "Geek Squad" has is truly astonishing. The geek squad is truly incompetent. I left my laptop there to be fixed (simple Recovery tool issue) but they spent an extra 3 days trying to diagnose something I specifically told them was broken and not to worry about. I had called multiple days in a row asking what the status was and what was taking them so long. each call took on average 7 or so minutes just to talk to a person due to the long hold time even during non-peak hours. The help received from customer service was abysmal at best. I would ask them to check with Geek Swuad but they could never tell me anything other than "it's still ongoing". I hadn't even known why it was taking so long or that they were diagnosing a KNOWN problem for no reason. I can't even fully express just how incompetent they must be to completely disregard what I explicitly said. read more

Went in to get the screen replaced on my iPhone 14 pro max, was recommended here by the Apple service website because Best Buy is supposed to be an authorized repair facility. After waiting about 5 min, the Geek Squad "professional" finally asked what I needed, and I told him. He looks at it, tells me he has a screen in stock, and starting scanning things. Tells me it going to be about $350. I tell him the phone is only 4 months old and still in warranty, to which he replies that Apple maybe can do it for free, but Best Buy charges labor fees. And that he wouldn't be able to confirm warranty anyway because the screen is unresponsive and he can't check. I leave and go to the Apple Store in Southlake and they fix it just fine. For free. I am extremely disappointed with this store, specifically Tom Costello (GM) and Jesse Gentry (Asst. GM). These men need leadership/management classes. I took my computer here a few days ago to have them do a tune up on it. After getting my computer back, I noticed there were some outstanding issues to which I called their customer service. I was instructed to take my computer back and speak with the GM/store manager. After being in contact with Tom Costello, I tried to explain the issue I was having to which he seemed to become frustrated. I expressed his approach was coming off as "assertive", he replied that "I'm 61 years old and I'm not going to have someone from your age group come in here and tell me what to do." I have this recorded on my phone. Jesse Gentry heard this as well as the Geek Squad manager and when I asked them if they were going to say anything to that, they cowardly didn't reply. Corporate needs to take a hard look at the management here. To treat a customer this way (especially someone who makes up their target audience) is extremely concerning. I stopped in to pick up a couple printer cartridges and unbeknownst to me it happened to be right at closing as they were closing the front doors. The manager and team went above and beyond to retrieve the cartridges in the store and ring me up as the last customer of the day although they were clearly closing. This got me out of a major bind as I needed to print some documents right away. I typically do not write reviews, but my issue was repetitive in actions and feel I need to warn others. In Dec. 2022 we purchased over 10K in tv's, subwoofer, mounts, etc. Applied for the Best Buy Citicard to take advantage of the "10% off" that is advertised all over the store. This is distributed in reward certificates, that you have to go BACK to the store and claim as payment toward your account balance. This WAS NOT explained to me by any store personnel. Recently went back into the store and bought another 4K worth of stuff and was told that my certificates expired b/c they changed the rule and they are only good for 30 days. The store manager told me the issue is "over my paygrade." He stayed as far away from us as possible when requesting to speak with a manager. Not very professional. That's the first issue. Second issue, with both major purchases, we had an installer team from Best Buy. They are great. Multiple times they had to return the merchandise to the store b/c it didn't fit or did not have all the features that the sales person said it had...example sound bar was too big for hanging tv, door bell didn't alert, etc. This makes it very difficult to have to miss work several days to reschedule installations. The store manager also told me that the 3rd party installers (they all are) are paid by the job. So there is an incentive somewhat for them to exchange the merchandise. In our cases, they actually knew more about the products than the sales personnel. It's ashame, because we are good customers. Because of the apparent lack of knowledge from sales people and the lack of care of false advertising credit card benefits, we are changing our business to another store. read more

We have been Best Buy customers in Flower Mound for almost 10 years. We have purchased 3 TV's, 2 washers & dryer sets, refrigerator, and numerous other electronics. We have a Best Buy account and are Total Tech members for 4 years. On Wednesday we spent $2300 on a new LG refrigerator because our Samsung broke down. it was out of warranty so they were NO help in getting it repaired - without a 4 WEEK delay - because we were "out of warranty". That should have alerted us but we still bought a new refrigerator from Andy in appliances. We also reconnected with Adrian a former Management person who had returned to the Flower Mound store. Adrian was the only bright spot in this whole debacle! * We completed the sale and delivery was set for today 2/10/2023. Yesterday we had some additional questions so we called the store. We were sent to the customer service instead of the store? We tried to tell them we needed to speak to Andy or Adrian about our purchase and were refused access to the store. Even stating we wanted answers before delivery fell on deaf ears. They refused us access 4 times before we gave up! My wife was so angry she drove across town and went in the store. She approached Andy and asked why this happened. His response was short and not helpful. He said the Best Buy policy changed over a year ago and NO calls are sent to the stores. Having just sold us a $2300 refrigerator made no difference to him and he showed it in his response. My wife reminded him we could have bought the same item at Lowes a block away, he did not seem to care! She then approached the store Manager Jason and related all the concerns and asked for assistance. She received the same cold response - sorry but you have to talk to the 800 customer service people (who are in another state and speak poor English). She left telling the Manager she was sorry we ever made the purchase and we know now not to come back. She stated that we might cancel the order and buy at LOWES but he did not seem to care! ** My wife and I have been in management in our careers and know how to treat customers - especially long time customers that can be lost due to POOR service. Just a suggestion to Andy and Jason, you might consider giving a person your cell number for "emergencies or last minute questions". That is GOOD customer service! Do what it takes to keep good customers. We did a quick survey this morning and we have spent almost $10K in this store but NO more. In the hour + we were with Andy he received 3-4 calls on his cell phone and told us "that's a customer" before answering one of the calls. It seems some of his customers are worthy of his cell number. Bottom line both these men blew it with their poor attitudes. My wife said she felt disrespected and left believing she was definitely not valued as a customer! ***As I stated before we are done with Best Buy. We cancelled the sale and delivery an hour later. We then bought the same refrigerator at LOWES and they are delivering it in 3 days! Gentlemen, you lost not only this sale but this year we planned to replace/upgrade our Samsung washer & dryer, as well as our 65" living room TV. The service here is awful! I was unable to look at the selection of computers in the store, due to being absolutely hounded down by employees in a very unceremonious manner. I went in there accompanied by two other people during a rather busy time with the intention of shopping for a laptop or ipad. However, as soon as I entered the laptop section I was approached by an employee, pretty standard I explained to her that I was just looking around and didn't have anything specific in mind, just something that will help with work. She backed off, but not even two minutes later another employee is hounding me down. I also explained to this man that I was not looking for anything particular as I'm not very computer savvy. He didn't even offer to help me instead I watched him walk off and stand to the side with the previously mentioned female employee whispering while looking directly at us. Whatever. We move over to the apple section where we are approached by THREE more employees. Mind you this goes beyond helpfulness as no one else in the store was being followed by employees quite like we were. After standing in the Apple section we noticed three employees staring at us, speaking into their mics, glaring, and overall very unfriendly. As if that wasn't enough one of the cashiers had started leaning over the counter to quite literally point us to her coworker. After seeing this my group decided to leave due to the fact it felt as if we were being harassed by employees for doing what the store is designed for, shopping for electronics! We saw no other customer getting the same kind of attention from any employee. In fact we saw many customers who genuinely needed help looking for employees! I went to the Flower Mound BB on April 8 with the model #s for a microwave and trim kit that I wanted to purchase along with the installation service. Both items were not in stock and had to be back ordered for delivery in September. It was not an issue since there was no urgency. I paid for the purchase along with the Total Tech service package. I was told that I would have to come to the store to pick up the items and then the installation would be scheduled. I received confirmations by email. I then started receiving email and text updates on the scheduled appointments for installation which aligned with the time frames presented to me. Starting May 6, I started receiving several texts saying that the installation was scheduled for May 17. I made multiple calls to the "customer service" number as well as chats telling them I do not have the microwave and there would be nothing to install. All to no avail. The installer shows up on May 17. I received survey solicitations for both the installation and the store. Naturally, I gave them very poor grades. In response, I received a phone call from the salesperson on Saturday, May 21, assuring me that everything was taken care of. On Monday I get an email that my order was cancelled at my request. WT*?? I sent the salesperson an email and keeping my fingers crossed that I'll get a response. In the mean time they have charged my account and my first payment is due in a few days. My online account page shows no pending orders. 17 texts and 23 emails. I have no idea what the status of my order is. Best Buy VP of Sales/Systems/Customer Service - I sincerely hope you read this review. The change to your process has to come from the top. Your hapless store employees and management are just pawns. I recently called to get a warranty service on a dishwasher that we purchased through Best Buy and we also purchased the Geek Squad 5-year extended warranty. The man I spoke to explained that he could not assist me because my plan was no longer valid. He stated it had expired in June, 4 months prior to my call. He said I should call the manufacturer for any repair, which is Bosch. I told him that the Bosch manufacturer warranty was only 1 year and that I purchased the 5-year extended warranty. The purchase was made in March of 2016 and the repair was needed in November of 2021. So, I explained and read the information below. (e.g., if you purchased a 3 year GSP Plan and the manufacturer's warranty is 2 years, your Coverage will expire 5 years from the date of purchase). To me that looked like all together I should have had a 6-year total warranty. There is a lot to read here and I wasn't sure about which plan I had actually purchased, but in my head, I was thinking that if I purchased the 5-year extended warranty, which I did, and the manufacturer warranty was 1 year. That would mean I was covered for 6 years. Well, he went on to explain that the total plan was only for 5 years total. I again said, "I am not understanding...and begin reading the information out loud. Then, I was rudely interrupted and told that he was not going to sit there and argue with me any longer. My plan had expired and if I needed repairs, I would need to call my manufacturer." First of all, I was shocked! I have never been so rudely spoken to by anyone whose job is to provide customer service. Secondly, I was in no way arguing with him. I was simply trying to understand what I was reading and how I could not still be covered. I then reread the information again and noticed that the portion highlighted states that is for washers and not dishwashers. My mistake, but I just thought when reading it was just using that as an example. Either way, I have been a long time Best Buy customer and almost always purchase the protection plans, but this has put a really bad taste in my mouth for Best Buy- Geek Squad and "extended" warranties for sure. I plan on putting this in several reviews so that no one else has to ask Best Buy Geek Squad to do their jobs and explain to a client in a professional manner, that they may be misinformed and the extended warranty is not an actual extended plan, but rather, a 1 time 5-year plan. Such a shame coming from a company I use to respect. I am sure my one complaint means nothing to them, because I am just one client out of many who shop there. Caveat Emptor! Appliances: 1. I purchased a ViewSonic projector on June 5th. I received it by shipment on June 9th. I set it up at home and watched it for a couple of days. Then I left for an international business trip on June 12th. When I returned I attempted to watch a movie and the projector kept shutting off. I took it to Best Buy and told them I realized I was past the 15 day return window by two days, but I was on an international business trip. I even showed them my boarding passes from my flights. They refused to exchange the defective unit and told me I had to send it to the manufacturer. They did offer to take it back if I paid a $160 restocking fee. It was a out of box failure. Why should I pay a restocking fee. I tried to explain the situation the the store manger with no resolve. Well I am 1.5 months without a projector (which I paid $1200) and still waiting for viewsonic to send me a new replacement projector , which they agreed to do. I was able to get in and out of this store in less than 10 minutes. I walked in and went straight to the Apple section in the back of the store. I was looking for a specific keyboard case for my new iPad Pro. One of the salesmen greeting me, asked me if he could help me find what I was looking for and pointed me in the right direction. I had already checked prior to driving to the store for the case and had seen that they had several in stock. Once the gentleman helped me find my case he told me that he could also ring me out if that's all I was needing to get. I was glad I was able to get in, get what I wanted and get out in a timely manner! read more

Horrible. The "manager" wanted me to wait with a 2 year old for 3 hours. The next day he said that I was not "technologically advanced." Then, of course, he admitted he lied and isn't actually the store manager. We tweeted about it but Best Buy doesn't care. Never again. And Adrian is a horrible employee and service provider. Updated - 2 stars - the store is always a nightmare but once you find an employee they are knowledgeable and helpful. read more

I went Black Friday shopping to buy a laptop for school, when checking out the employee offered another 10% off if I sign up for their In-store Best Buy account. I confirmed with the employee beforehand that I was not signing up for any credit cards just the in store Best Buy rewards. Seconds later the employee tells me I didn't qualify for their in-store Best Buy rewards, but I did qualify for a my Best Buy credit card. I did not want to do this, I did not care about the discount at this point. I denied the offer and then the employee told me the only thing is if I cancel it now it will hurt my credit score. I ended up giving into this scheme and now have Best Buy credit card. It is such a shame, the kind of company that has to train their employees to be so manipulate and deceitful to customers. Unless, the employee did this on his terms I will gladly match their character for you. read more
