I recently purchased an open-box Dell 15.6" Touchscreen Laptop from the Best Buy website listed at $284.99 in "Good" condition. The listing clearly stated it was sold by Best Buy and available at the Fox Point, WI store location. The same laptop retails for around $600 new. Before purchasing, I went to the store to inspect the laptop in person. It appeared to be in excellent condition and worked properly. However, when I attempted to purchase it in-store, it rang up at $485. Employees and the store manager refused to honor the website price, despite the SKU number matching exactly and the listing not stating "online only." I was incorrectly told it was sold by a third-party seller, which was false. I was then forced to purchase the laptop online while standing in the store. Just minutes later, I received confirmation that the laptop was ready for pickup -- the exact same laptop already sitting in the store. Later, when I returned to pick it up, an employee offered an additional $20 discount for the inconvenience if I returned and repurchased the laptop. After returning it, the store again could not sell it back to me at the correct price and told me I had to wait over 2.5 hours for it to be released back into inventory so I could repurchase it online again. During this entire process, I was repeatedly pressured to buy more expensive laptops with fewer features. I was also told I could only receive the additional $20 discount by applying for a Best Buy credit card. The employee began entering my information for a credit application without clearly explaining that my credit would be run. I find this extremely dishonest and unacceptable. In the end, I eventually repurchased the laptop online for the original $284.99 price, but the entire experience was frustrating, misleading, and handled very poorly from start to finish. read more

It's a nice place. Entering the staff greets you and then you are met by this super open floor plan. You can find anything easily and the staff will help you. As said there is so much and there are lots of choices. The selection is great to be honest. From smart fridge to Mario kart wheel they have it. We have bought a lot from them but there aren't many sales. read more

When I approached a counter to get some help, an associate was talking with an older gentleman who wasn't dressed in their blue uniform, but looked like he was working there. They must have been talking business, and the associate asked me to wait a minute while they finished their business. I did wait but their business kept on going and I saw another associate so I walked over to ask him for help instead. I was looking for a "mini optical to hdmi cable". They had one on the Best Buy website, and I asked one of the staff to help me locate it. He barely looked at the product I was showing him, then grabbed an "optical to hdmi cable" and handed it to me, telling me this would do the same thing. It actually would not work for me, and it was twice the cost of the product I was looking at online. So I asked him to look in the store inventory to find the one that I wanted. He just kept saying that what I had would work (it wouldn't) and that the online product wouldn't be at the store. Then he left me. Meanwhile, I looked over at the counter, and the associate and the gentleman were still discussing whatever they were discussing. Had I listened to him and waited, I would really have waited forever. So I tried to look a little on my own, and then tried to get someone else to help. I finally got Luis to help. He saved the whole experience. He did what I would expect of a normal Best Buy associate and looked up the item on his device, found where it was on his store, and tried to locate it for me. He wasn't able to, actually. For whoever reason, it wasn't where it was supposed to be. There were supposed to be 2 of them in the store, but there weren't. It really was a waste of time for me, since I was there to get the cable to use that night. Had I ordered it online to pick up, it still would probably not have gotten ready till the next day. BUT. The way Luis helped out made me see how above and beyond he went to get me the help I needed. So though I didn't get what I had come for, I felt well helped and would probably come again on a whim. Poor customer service. Inexperience staff members. This location had what I needed. But I had a hard time picking up and I had a trade in. No one knew what to do. Ended up canceling order and had to repurchase them item and wait for a refund. I will never visit this location again. Purchase the same IPad on Thursday at Mayfair with no trouble at all. read more

I bought a TV today. I called them this evening. It took 10 minutes to talk to a human. I had a question about how to turn the TV on and have it go directly to cable and he said it was $199 for him to answer that question. Recently went into this Best Buy location for the first time, as we are on the hunt for new kitchen appliances! First thought was that it's a smaller Best Buy than others I've been in to, but that's not to say they don't have plenty to pick from. With it being Black Friday deals, we were looking for someone to talk to about all of the available options for packages. After the request of help at the customer service desk, they said they would send someone over. It took over 15 minutes for anyone to come help us, which was unfortunate mostly because our toddler doesn't have the kind of patients for that. Once an employee arrived though, he was sweet and helpful. After talking through different packages and offering his opinion on what's the best for the cost, we walked away feeling quite a bit more knowledgeable about the products. In the end, we purchased them online directly from the company (Samsung) as their holiday deals were a bit better, but all in all it was nice to be able to go and see them in-person beforehand. The rest of this place is your average Best Buy store, where you'll find tvs, phones, speakers, video gaming systems, and most of your other technology needs. read more

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME! I need a new laptop and I have shopped there many times for several years. I usually go because I can get 12 month financing and a free money which is great. No more. I went in and asked for some help to buy a laptop waited 15 minutes no one showed up. I was told they were really busy. It was five minutes after they open. Finally, I buy a laptop on my own. I go to buy it. The cashier was new, which I understand but when I went through to put this on my account, they said my account was declined. My account was not declined. My account was active with $5000 credit on it. We tried three times no luck. I called Best Buy. PLEASE GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!!! I am a new homeowner! Yay! I found the washer and dryer of my dreams - and they were "open box - excellent" - I couldn't believe it! After waiting almost an hour for a salesperson to sell it to me I finally had my washer and dryer. Almost. It would take another week for the driver to show up and say, "They want you to be aware, these aren't the open box items you saw previously." They continued to show a myriad of issues with both units that seemed to be mostly superficial. Isn't it interesting they wouldn't call about this BEFORE delivering the units?? I could have told them to keep them and issue a refund right then and there. Bonus - they still wanted to charge me for the "excellent" condition they were delivered in! Nope, they installed them, "ran them", and left, our dream washer was here at last. When we went to use the smaller top washer we realized it was broken. Total tech sent a repair. They couldn't fix it. They needed another part. They came back, when they took the machine apart there were broken wires throughout the machine - it would need a new complex part that they still haven't been able to find. They came and picked up the unsalvagable parts. They continue to tell me the "new" washer is on the way. I have no ETA. I have no contact person. I have nothing but a washer that is currently flooding my basement because it wasn't reattached properly on the 4th service call. I was told "management" would get back to me in 24 hours... no such luck... I purchased all of my tech for my new home but I will be taking my service ANYWHERE else from this point on. 1) They sold AND delivered a known defective unit without informing the customer. 2) TERRIBLE customer service - How many lines do I have to call to get an answer?? 3) Where is the territory or regional management? When I've had issues with other retailers, big and small, usually there is some level of accountability. Will my washer ever get fixed? Will I ever see or hear from the elusive best buy management unicorn? With totaltech will I need to hire someone else to come and reattach the washer they couldn't install properly to keep my basement from flooding?? read more

This review is for the in store sale of a washer and dryer and the Geek Squad installation. I purchased a W&D around Labor Day for our new house. I was going to order online but my credit card was not working because the delivery address did not line up with my current billing address. Kept getting flagged as fraudulent! So glad I went to the store. I needed to order the accessory kit and haul away service for the old units (which we will get refunded because we sold them on Craigslist the day before installation). Great overall in store experience. The units were installed today, we were given a 2 hr window and received two calls prior to arrival to let us know they were on their way. The two installers were efficient and made sure to explain and demonstrate the models before leaving. I am really excited to use these new LG machines. I see that there are several poor reviews of this store, I do feel like things are on the upswing at Fox Point. I would definitely recommend based on my experience. read more

It was fine? It was a Best Buy. There was absolutely no customer service available, but I assume they're understaffed like all retail, so I don't blame that on the employees. Store was difficult to navigate in terms of floor plan and actually finding what I was looking for. I didn't buy the tv I was looking for because I couldn't find it, and I didn't have anyone to talk to about alternatives. This is probably a perfectly fine Best Buy if you know exactly what you want, or you're consumer tech savvy, but it certainly wasn't a great one. read more

I went to Best Buy to get a gas dryer. I purchased a Maytag dryer and they told me retake seven days to have it delivered. On the day of delivery I received an email and a phone call and advised me that the dryer was on the way. Caller stated the driver would be there in 20 minutes. 90 minutes later I called the service number and was advised that the driver add stopped and there was no answer at the door. My front door was open with a car in driveway and I was home assembling a bedframe. Nobody knocked or ring the doorbell or call on my cell phone to advise me the delivery was there.... I called back and they advised me that I would have to reschedule 5 to 7 more days! I told him that was unacceptable and I went into the store and had them refund my credit card. They have terrible service! I will never buy another appliance from Best Buy again. read more

Three weeks ago I bought a digital TV antenna, a ROKU box, and a couple of other items. I hunted down a clerk to help me and he was marginally helpful. I told him that I was wanting to get out of cable TV and wanted to move to other options. He showed me two antenna options and told me about on streaming option. Then, nada. Anyone who has done this stuff knows that the process is not immediate. You cancel a service, return equipment, find a new service, etc. It would have been helpful for the clerk to say something like, "If you think this is going to take a while, you might want to hold off because after 15 days we will not take this as a return." Okay, buyer beware. The antenna works fine. I hope the ROKU box is what I needed because I own it now. Two days ago, I went back to buy an additional TV and a mounting bracket. I looked through the entire department, and located some possible options for both. Then, I started to pivot around because I couldn't find the TV I had just seen. The same clerk (same clerk, different day) approached me and asked if I needed help. I said I found a TV I was interested in, but had lost it. When I said, "Oh, here it is," he walked away. I got a cart, found the model number on an item in stock, and started toward the cashier area when I was stopped by a manager holding a child and wearing a Packers t-shirt. He asked if I found everything or if I needed any help. I explained that this was unusual, because the store is singularly unhelpful. Then Sean, yet another manager, introduced himself and added that he was aware of difficulties and he was there to improve service quality. He also gave me his card. It is important to make this point clear: I was one of three or four customers in the entire store. I went to the empty cashier area and called over to one of the 7 idle clerks at the service desk and asked if someone could check out my purchases. A pleasant guy came over to do so. I then walked past the young guy (8th person at the front of the store. Security?) who was glued to his phone (I imagine on social media). I took the cart with my purchases out of the store and loaded them into my car. I returned the cart, wondering along the way if no one considered assisting a customer with a large heavy purchase to a car. I am confident that there were a minimum of 12 employees in a store with 3 or 4 customers. For a company that is stocked to the roof with items for Black Friday and is taking big hits in the retail marketplace, it seems really weird that staff would think of a slow customer period as a time to take a mental nap. Here I am paying full retail for something that might well be free in a week and I need to find it, sell it to myself, load it, get help to check out, and then carry it out myself so that others can check Facebook. I had planned to contact Sean or to go to BestBuy.com to make a service comment. Their webpage does not readily address service issues unless you have something on order. Purchased over $4500 of products at the same time from Best Buy Fox Point. They placed me in elite instead of elite plus. I walk in person waisting gas and time for correction. The door man/want to be Manger asked me in a no caring manor what's the difference a longer warranty. I replied no. You receive more money back (1.25 instead of 1.00 on every dollar back). Never no apology, kept look away from me like I'm bothering him about their on rewards policy. Why did I have to educate him?????? He gave me the headquarters number only when I asked for it. The issue is every day, they lie and say it is going to ship out and arrive the next day and it hasn't. As short as this review is going to be, I feel that a huge shout out to Justin and Ryan is needed. Both had amazing customer service! For such a big corporation, it was refreshing to see this. Did you know that Best Buy has price match? Neither did we- so when the husband went up to purchase some headphone thing, we had noticed it was cheaper on their website. They went one step better and gave it to us at an even LOWER price then on their website- they gave it to us at the price of one of their competitors. Just your average Best Buy store. But, this Best Buy is the best & most organized in our area. The layout of the store is nice & it's usually not overwhelmed with customers. Prices are suggested retail, serious money can be saved by shopping online. So, do your own homework before you walk into any best buy. Associates are not very helpful or I should say they are not trained enough to tackle complex technological questions. Plus, not all products are available in every store. So, I had to drive to multiple locations to find the item I was looking for. Oh well that's what we expect from Best Buy! Glad to see Best Buy is proactive with their recycling program. There must be a dozen different reclaim bins at the store entrance. read more

This Best Buy gets 3 stars mainly because I was a little perturbed that I was told that they don't honor their online prices. Basically, I drove back home, bought it online with the option to have it picked up in store. Half an hour later, I went back and picked up that item only to have Customer Service tell me that they DO honor their online prices. I live close enough that it really wasn't a huge deal for me, but it does bother me when not everyone is on the same page. The store is clean with enough employees walking around willing to help which is always nice, but then again, their knowledge base of what exactly is the best or what you should or ought to get varies drastically. I know more about how to set up a home theater system or what cords to get that most of their employees. My advice- if you own a smart phone, just Google anything you want to know and then ask them to tell you where it is in the store. read more

I came in with computer operating issues of a one-month old computer and they all stepped in to help me pick out a different "new" computer and transfer my data. I appreciated their efforts to find a solution to an inconvenient problem. I purchased a washer and dryer on March 9th. The units were delivered on March 26th and the dryer has a large dent in the front. We called for a replacement and 2 replacements came with the exact same dent in the exact same spot. We then scheduled to have a 4th dryer brought and they canceled our delivery (within a few hours) twice!! When they finally tried to reschedule again (which would have now been the 6th time) it was pushed out to June. We bought a large TV and appliances from Best Buy. When I asked to just finally keep the dented one and have money taken off the purchase, they said they can only give us gift cards for their store. So now I am keeping a dented dryer, paying off the full price of the dryer, and getting a gift card for a store I never want to step foot in again as a form of reimbursement. The customer service was horrible. They keep me on hold for 15-18 minutes at a time and the total time between all calls was a hour and 23 minutes. I hope Amazon takes them out read more

Hit & Miss I went there to buy a camcorder. A young saleswomanIquickly offered to help select one, after assuring me she knows 'tons' about camcorders. I explained that I needed a simple camcorder with an external mike to tape a school video - nothing fancy. She picked out a Sony camcorder and assured me it's exactly what I wanted. I asked her to open the box and show me how to use it - she said CD with instructions is inside, and there is no need to check, since it's an unopened box. Can you guess where this is going? Lo and behold, when I opened the box at home, there was no CD with instructions - just a bare bones booklet and a link to a website with more info. Not a big deal. The camcorder did not have a wall plug, just two cords that went nowhere. How do you charge a camera without a wall plug? The camera did not have an external mike - just something very basic and weak. If she opened the box in store like I asked - would've saved me lots of time and aggravation. I brought the camcorder back to the store the next day - no troubles returning it: customer service rep could not care less about my complaint. Her reply - "Yeah, these things happen." With a heavy heart, I schlepped back to the camcorders department. This time, I got another young lady, who actually knew what she was talking about. She took her sweet time to open every box, check every camera, make sure I knew how to use it, and helped me pick out what I needed. Loved her! So, if you are lucky, you will get an excellent helper in this store. If you are not - you will get a clerk whose only goal is to sell you whatever crap is the closest to her, and get rid of you in the shortest time possible. Good luck! read more

The management was extremely bias towards me, I am African-American. The staff were helpful, but every time they would ask a manager he would deny a request for something they (staff)had previously said, would be possible I also confirmed with Best Buy customer service one 800 number. Would not recommend to anybody if you like your money, and your time, not wasted, and if you want to be treated like a human. I purchased a 55 inch TV in a sky tech gaming PC I was notified that the PC would be delivered to me no later than the 25th I called on the 25th because there was no tracking number sent to me yet for such an expensive item I didn't even know when you'll be dropping off I took two days off work and they had yet to even send the computer out and refuse to give me a refund or stop the shipping in progress because cause it was out for delivery it's now the 31st and purchased a laptop from else where an I'm very satisfied with it I paid cash when I bought the pc I'm not unfurther inconvenienced by having to wait 10 more days for a refund check to come in the mail just something to be aware of if you're purchasing it from this particular Best Buy location. read more

Out of nowhere, this "angel" appears and asks me if I need help with anything. Why, yes I do. She actually gets what I was looking for, brings it to me, and *then* asks if I wanted to check out with her at the kiosk in the middle of the store? Ummm..YEAH, I do. The line is 25 ppl deep. It's a shame how much Best Buy has fallen in the past year or so. I went to the Port Washington Road location to buy a soundbar to go with my new TV. Typically I shop on Amazon for electronics but I really wanted to hear the soundbar before buying one, and I wanted to get one same day so I went to Best Buy. I went on a Sunday at 11 and the store was a ghost town. I walked to the home theater area and ran into an employee who honestly tried to avoid eye contact with me. When I asked him about soundbars he walked me over to a wall display that had a few soundbars below TVs. When I asked to hear them, he seemed put out and sighed that most of the demos don't work. Then he kept pointing at random units and telling me "This one is cool". So I thanked him for his (lack of) help and walked away. I found another employee and asked the same questions.....getting the same basic answers. After walking around a few more times I decided to give up and headed to H.H. Gregg where I had a far superior experience (will be writing a review for them later). I also headed to the camera area since I'm in the market for a DSLR camera. The associate over there greeted me pleasantly enough but when I said I didn't know much about the DSLRs he pointed to them and said "They're right here. If you have any questions, I'll be over here" Really? This is the perfect opportunity to begin asking questions of the customer and helping them narrow down a choice. I get it that Best Buy and other large retailers are hurting because of places like Amazon, but (as a retail manager myself) you would think that they would up the ante on the customer service aspect to keep people in the stores. We are traveling soon to see my daughter so I wanted to surprise her with a new telephone. After all, technology advances so fast and her's is already three years old. Having purchased items from this Best Buy location ranging from CD's to our washing machine, I requested pickup be here. Thursday was our day to claim the "prize" but we had one condition. Since we were going to be more then 2,000 miles from here and a surprise, the telephone would have to be activated there. Unfortunately when we went to pickup the telephone, we were informed by the three employees in the Mobile Phone Department that the telephone HAD to be activated at Fox Point. Calling our daughter we had to break the surprise and problem to her. Thanking us for the soon-to-be present, she problem solved on her own by calling the store and discussing the problem with "Carl." He told her he would handle the transaction and to have us come back Friday at 11 a.m. Thank you Carl, everything was handled perfectly except the fact the telephone is no longer a surprise. Small price to pay but I suggest more training for the entire Mobile Phone Department. read more

We use this location for all of our electronic, TV, appliance needs. This location has a large parking lot and is conveniently located right off 43. With a lot of helpful and approachable employees on the floor and in every department, we have never had an issue getting a question answered or assistance with choosing a product. The staff in each department are actually knowledgeable about the products, which is always appreciated. We have had to return items and exchange items, and never had an issue dealing with customer service. I would totally recommend this location. read more

Worst tech support ever. The Best Buy on Port Washington Road in Fix Point, Wi. We bought a Geek Squad Total Tech Support a long time ago, years. Spoke with an online agent, he could not find any purchase or our account. Called tech support number no luck their either. Third try today online agent Luke Anthony. He could not help us. I gave him our Renewal Number, Member Number, Amount charged automatically by Best Buy on August 25, 2018. Also had the amount paid. Now, how can a company charge our Visa Number and account for Automatic Withdrawal? I never gave them my current Visa year the card expires or the security number on back of card. If we don't exist, how can we be charged automatically? See the irony of this horrible mess? Now, the on One agent asked me to go to the store and fix this. Best Buy could find my email address, Visa account, expired card, etc. Too many mistakes to ever trust this company again. I warn you Do Not Buy Anything From this Business! read more
