I was inquiring about a monitor, which they have boxed. When they weren't willing to open one up to see powered up I asked if there was an equivalent model already one the floor. They pointed to one hooked up to a computer in a row desktop computers. When I asked if they could power one up they said no... these don't turn on. How can you be an electronics store With no apparent knowledge of how to turn something on??? 0 stars for service. We went to purchase a tv and it took forever to find someone to help us. He said he had one customer before us and would be with us when he finished. We waited a while and saw that he was finishing with the other customer and then watched as he helped someone else. We still waited for at least 10 more minutes while he ignored us completely. So we left. Will never go there again! Wish I could give no stars. read more

They need to request corporate to update their hours on the website and Google as both have them open an hour later than their posted hours. Stopped in to grab a keyboard and SSD my husband found on the website and noticed the discrepancy as we walked in. Apologized to the employee near the door for coming in five minutes before close, cause of the difference in hours. Husband was cashing out and I ran to swap the keyboard so the guy ringing us up didn't have to and another employee walked up and asked me if I was aware they closed "negative minutes ago" in a REALLY nasty tone. I responded that we were already being checked out and I was swapping keyboards and he again, nasty tone, said "well like I said....." So I walked back to my husband and the employee we worked with and the nasty employee came to apologize. Ok great but maybe grow some customer service before interacting with customers... and have your corporate office fix your hours that are posted on your own website ;) read more

This review gives major kudos to the buying and curbside processes during Covid-19! In the saddest turn of events ever, our very cheap coffee pot that we got from the flea market last summer BROKE! We decided it was probably time for an upgrade and turned to Best Buy for some great options. The selection here is better than many of the other big box retailers, and their ease of buying online with in store pick up makes it all the better. My partner placed the order and was able to go pick it up at any time during their open hours. He was emailed a link to click and then enter in the make and model of his car upon arrival. I was along for the ride and was shocked at how seamless this entire process was. Within two minutes and associate came up to our rolled down back window, asked for the four digit code we received via email, and voila - he placed the coffee maker in our trunk and we drove away with a thank you! Our new coffee maker is AMAZING and we're grateful to the team at Best Buy for providing this awesome, easy, and safe experience for us. No coffee in a quarantine would be a non starter for us, so this level of immediacy was a game changer. Thanks, Best Buy! read more

When you buy a product at any store, it's always nice that you can go back and get a bit of advice, (hopefully) in a nice way. I've bought items at Best Buy, both stores, Henrietta and Greece. And I've had great luck with the sales people. I've purchased 3 cameras, memory cards, a laptop computer and speakers. I like Best Buy! Today I was experimenting with 1 of my cameras for some outdoor scenes and got a bit confused with the menu and Youtube tutorials. So I headed to the Greece Best Buy. When I got there I spoke with 2 sales people. Both looked at my camera and gave me advice. I was pleased with the amount of time they both spent with me. The camera has an in depth menu and can get confusing, but they pulled me through. It's a great plus for Best Buy, the retail business. In today's society it's rush, rush, rush. And being a bit older than many sales people, the technological age, it's nice to see loyal employees to their companies and the customer. 5 stars for Best Buy. read more

Ordered a product on line to pick up in the Greece NY store. Arrived at the store and went to the Order Pickup counter. There wasn't anybody standing there but the aisle was open. Right to the left was the checkout counter with four registers open. After waiting 10 minutes and two of the cashiers actually going into the order pickup cage area I asked the female at the register if she could call someone for the order pickup counter. She rudely advised me that the POS at the Pickup counter was down so I would have to get in the right line (checkout).... There is a n aisle divider that they could have used to close the line off at the Order Pickup area but did not, I didn't realize that as a customer I should know which registers (POS) are working and which aren't, and when we stepped up to the counter any one of the four cashiers could have advised us the Ordre Pickup was closed - but totally ignored us and allowed us to stand there with another customer behind us. After leaving I decided to call the store to speak with a manager but after waiting on hold for 15 minutes and having their voice system tell me numerous times how it would be quicker for me to handle my situation "on-line", nobody ever picking up - I went to the computer to give my experience. read more

I have been using this store for about 5 years, and always find a product that I want. Mostly in cameras, computers. The store was recently re-arranged, so I had some trouble locating stuff, but the associates helped me to the new display area. The staff has been courteous and friendly on every visit. It's a shame they have a 15 day no return policy. I purchase a ac adapter set. Never opened, as I found my original one. I had it for about 30 days when I was finally in the area I stopped in, and they refused to take the return. In the same visit I informed them the Samsung TV I purchased there 2 month ago stopped working. They told me since I didn't purchase the over priced Geek squad warranty that I would have to contact Samsung directly. I asked for the phone number, and they basically told me I am on my own. I found myself in need of a decent table top antenna. I figured I could chase all over or stop once at Best Buy. Like water and electricity, I take the path of least resistance. Best Buy carries a large variety of antennas across a broad price range. I chose a good mid-range unit and ran home to hook it up. Just a couple of connections and a channel scan and I'm in business. I got all the channels I expected and a few more. My "problem-child" TV is now a fully operational entertainment system. I refuse to give in to an electronic or mechanical object. Anywho, going to Best Buy first was the smart move. They are reasonably priced and have a huge inventory to choose just about anything you may need in the way of electronics and appliances. Don't go there these guys are thieves. They will con you into purchasing an extended warranty and then when you try to use it you find out that it's really a "one time use" warranty. Sure they will replace the item but now your extended coverage has ended. One year into a three year warranted and now you are on your own. I should also mention that the first attempt to repair my camera they tried to pull a fast one and send it back to me without repairing it at all. Maybe they thought I wouldn't notice that it was still broke? You're better off just using this place as a showroom and then make your purchase on Amazon or something. read more

Was on hold for 30 minutes and when I finally spoke to a representative (Joshua) they were not willing to have any wiggle room for my Bluetooth headphones that crapped out. I paid $172 for them and purchased the extended warranty. It was slightly over the warranty and they were not willing to wiggle at all. Furthermore, I was hung up on when I asked who the manager was. First off, I had to go BACK to the store after I found out that the HDMI cord I needed wasn't included (salesman never thought to tell me that). Recent purchase of a Samsung tablet wasn't a very good experience. I ordered the tablet online for pickup that day along with a case. I arrived at the store but it wasn't ready. Ok, I had to wait about 10 minutes, no big deal. However, the case wasn't in stock, like I thought, but could be there in "a couple of hours from another store transfer." A couple hours actually was about a week in reality. This just reinforces the fact that these large box stores employ people based on salary rather than aptitude. When I told the young man to cancel my order he said ok but, his "partner" told me to go online and do it. Sorry that I was the only person in line and helping me would've taken them away from their riveting conversation. I went on to Amazon, which I normally don't like doing. Not only was I able to find d the same case for less but the Tablet was also about 15% less. I should have brought the tablet back but decided I didn't want to drive back to the store. Anyway, I am illustrating that the internet is a do-it-yourself entity that allows for cost savings and brick and mortar businesses should have a leg up on customer service. Unfortunately, this continues to be lacking, even with employees on site and, seemingly, available to "help". I hate to see the internet supplanting local businesses which takes away local jobs but when you have little to offer above the option to search and click, it's no wonder stores are closing. read more

By now, Best Buy is the average entertainment showcase room displaying large flat-panel televisions, enormous sound systems, video game consoles, DVD's and so forth. I normally come here if I am in need of recording software like DVD-R and CD-R's and even VHS, which Is unique that they still sell them so I commend Sony for that. Never was into the appliance section, but it was nice to browse them as they were nicely set up...the price on the other hand was enough for me to drive off furious and glum. In contrast, the items they carry are not going to have you jumping for joy but it's enough to silence the shopping need. read more

I went in to Best Buy today for a screen protector. The greeter was very friendly and took my name for assistance needed. The employee assigned to help me located a screen protector. He an another employee said "we're even going to put it in for you. when I got home and looked o we my receipt I saw that they charged me $7.99 plus tax to apply the screen protector. At no time did they disclose there was a fee associates with it. So I bought a 21.99 screen protector and $7.99 to have it put on. Shame on them. And shame on me for not looking at my receipt. We in to purchase a new Samsung washer, and we had done research and knew exactly what we wanted.Then we experienced a glitch in the system as we were trying to set up a delivery date, the computer kept freezing up.So, on to register #2, same issue.so on to register #3, and then to #4, no one could figure out how to fix the glitch.When we asked if this had been an ongoing issue, we could not get an answer, other than we were told to come back another time, they were letting $700 walk out the door and indeed it did, wetnt down the Road to Home Depot, the transaction was complete in less than 5 minutes. The washer will be delivered in 4 days. (same price by the way and the delivery guys can also do the installation, not the case at Best Buy) read more

The Best Buy in Greece is a great place to go if you want to feel invisible--but only when you're asking a question. If you go to browse, they are on you like maggots on old meat. "Can I help you?" "No, just browsing." "Are you sure?" "Listen, I can't stick this entire row of X-Box games into my granny purse with you watching me like that!" - At least, that's the feeling I get. Whenever I head to the computer department, I enter it with a sense of dread. I work with computers. I write requirements for military and medical systems that use computers--so I'm not completely tech-stupid. But I realize that I don't know everything. Unfortunately, I have no clue how much the floor associates know either, because I spend way too long trying to find someone to help me. I hate retail shopping. I am a busy and reclusive geek, mostly. You'd think that a place like Best Buy might respect my need to spend my money and get the h*ll out, but no. A few days ago, I came in looking for a camera for my PC. I had ONE question. One teeny tiny question that was NOT answered in the instructions or anywhere on the box. I waited, then chased after three different people in the computer department (one of whom looked right at me, then turned to help some other guy who got there first). I finally went to ask some guy over by the TVs who was willing to try and help me even though he was currently busy (actually helping somebody). I decided to give it one more go and interrupted some computer associate in the middle of his highly technical conversation about kung-fu. Bought a phone and case yesterday. Drove an hour to the nearest store to "pickup today" only to not get my purchase. Over $1000 was already taken out of my account (of course they'll already charge you for it said the associate). Was not able to pick up my items yesterday even tho they were in stock. It's been 15 hours since placing my order, I have to drive another hour away to the store again and if they don't have it for me by 12pm our time, I'm calling the police for theft and they're going to walk me into that store so I can take the items I already paid for. My complaint is mainly with Best Buy's "Help" Center. I have been trying for 2 weeks to get a copy of an aged receipt, having made one chat session and 6 phone calls. The online process only provides copies for transactions back to 1-1-2018; the one I want is from 11-2017. The persons I spoke to have all represented that they would email the receipt copy to me. After not getting it after the first two promises, I provided 2 additional email addresses for me, in case the issue was with my mail server (although I had no problem getting promotional material from BB every day). Two more subsequent calls made because I still did not receive the receipt copy. The last two calls I asked to speak to a supervisor, in an attempt to figure out some other way we might try to solve this (e.g., get it through the local store). I got hung up on both times, I'm assuming because referring a call to a supervisor is not something that they are allowed to do. When I then called the Greece store to see if someone there could help me, no one answered. So, I'm at a complete loss around something that would seem to be able to be simply solved. After all, every person in the "Help" Center that I spoke to found the receipt that I was after, so it's just a matter of getting it to me. So, bottom line, if you need to get real help from the Best Buy's real people in their "Help" Center, good luck. The automated system does a better job of listening and responding to customers. read more

I have been a customer at this store since it opened, and at the Henrietta store long before that. This Greece store has gotten increasingly worse over recent years, culminating in one of the most infuriating experiences that I've had in any store. I got an Android phone, after being an IPhone user since the first model. I thought I'd take a walk on the wild side. I left the store thinking that I had a 15 day window to try it out. On the 15th day, 2 hours after the store opened, I showed up to return the phone, was told that the return policy is 14 days, and that, if they did the return, my carrier would charge me termination fees. It turns out that the carrier has an extended holiday return policy, and if I had gotten the phone from them, they would take it back; no problem. So, I went back to the store, shared that news with them, and was basically told to pound sand, with the manager of the dept turning his back to me and waving me off with his hand. I called their 1-888 number, got some sympathetic ears, but was told that they couldn't do anything. It was up to the store. They said that, if I had bought it online, they would take it back; no problem. I was told to talk to the District Manager. So, I called the Greece store and asked for the name and number of the District Manager. The person I spoke to said there wasnt one. So, I called the Henrietta store, and got the District Manager's name. I sent him an email, and haven't gotten a response. So, I'm stuck with a phone that anybody other than the Greece Best Buy store would take back during the holiday season, but the Greece store wouldn't take it back because I was returning it 2 business hours past the 14 day deadline. I can't wait for the day that the doors of the Greece store are closed because customers like me will do all their shopping online from now on. read more

We bought an Ipad there and then 2 days later their flyer came out with a newer verision on sale so we called them and they said to bring it back and they would switch it. Plus, we bought a fridge there that we love. The only thing I wish they would do is when you use your husband's reward card they wouldn't send him everything I bought on it, now he knows what he is getting for Christmas. read more

Best Buy, the place to go when you have absolutely nothing to do and all the time in the world. Why, why oh why does it take almost 2 hours to buy a laptop, and not even walk out with it??? My son was buying a computer for college. He found someone right away to help him out. The sales associate told my son to set something up on another computer so he could get a $150 coupon. Yea!!! A coupon!!!! While my son was setting it up the BBG (Best Buy guy) walked off to help another customer. That took at least a half hour. Then he helped another, and another. All the while we waited. My son patiently, me not so much. He finally passed us along to another BBG, who he assured us was fully capable to handle our transaction, and continued to help other customers. The new BBG, had my son sign on to ANOTHER computer to get the coupon......sigh...... Finally he was at the cash register paying for his computer and I was so relieved, we could finally leave. NOPE!!!!!! Now he had to go stand in ANOTHER line to have the computer set up for him. Look, I get it. He wanted the computer set up, we could have just taken it with us and been done with it, but wouldn't it have been better if the last BBG could have just taken the computer someplace, and given them all the same info they already had, and taken care of it for him?? My time is precious, my sons time is precious, and I think next time we will spend our precious time someplace else. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Failure to provide customer service at the store level and at the phone "customer service" level. In January I purchased a brand new laptop which I have used a handful of times. 5 months later, the charger cord has shorted out and no longer works. When I called the store to see if they would replace the charger for me since the purchase was so recent, I was told that there was a 15 day return policy. 15 days! (where most other companies have at LEAST 30 day return policies). I was also told that because I didn't have geek squad coverage that there was nothing they could do but order me a 50$ cord and ship it to me, meaning I would have to wait days for it to arrive. As a student, this is 100% unacceptable. I wasn't aware of geek squad - it wasn't offered or explained to me at the time of purchase. I am also very unpleasantly surprised at the fact that they had NO supplemental chargers for the laptop I purchased in the store, or in the Rochester area for that matter. I feel as if I was a sold "a lemon" laptop, and that after the 15 days they do not care about their customers at all. I was referred to "the corporate phone number" by the store manager, which really turned out to be the online customer support number - located in Panama City, Panama - not even in the U.S. When I asked to speak to someone above the customer service level, I was told that there was no corporate office that I could call and contact and that I should send an email. Well - the website is not user friendly and it took me a good 20 minutes of clicking around (then calling online customer support again) with no luck to find where I could contact someone else. Once I finally found where I could give feedback, the feedback form didn't have a place to leave my contact information for someone to get back to be regarding my frustrations. I would 0/10 recommend best buy to anyone looking to purchase anything. How a company can sell expensive appliances, and products and not care if they malfunction or break after little to no use is beyond me. read more

I can't believe this store has bad reviews. When it comes to buying all my favorite electronics Best Buy is the place I always turn to. When Apple was selling the Macbook Air 13" new model for $1000 Best Buy had it on sale for $750 with one year interest free financing. How can you beat that? When I wanted a nice 70 inch Sony television I went to Best Buy and got 2 years interest free financing. They have all the brand names I want and always have the best financing. Most stores will offer you up to a year financing but never two years like Best Buy. The sales people have always been nice to me when I go in there. I might have to wait a couple of minutes for a salesperson if they are waiting on someone else but it never takes them too long to get to me. I have never been in there during the holidays because I don't want to deal with the madness. Also if you ever have to return something its never a problem. read more

He gave me the best information possible on my iPhone and treated me the way he would want to have been treated. The deals here are always good. Which is why I've bought here time and time again. The knowledge of the floor 'Salesmen' is always poor though and the after sale service is non-existant.
