Let's be honest, when you are a guy, Best Buy essentially serves as a toy store for big kids. I have been in dozens of Best Buy locations in my life, and this particular location in Oshkosh serves its purpose fairly well. Selection is quite good for a location in a town this size, staff are not aggressive but they are there if you need them, and prices are good. I was shopping for a new MackBook on my most recent visit and ended up picking up an out of box Pro with lots of software for an incredible value. You know you are living in a town with a decent Best Buy when your brain automatically defaults to stopping in when you have an electronics need and that is the case here. read more

Had purchased a Meize tablet and waiting for it to come by Fed Ex. Went to Best Buy to see why tablet wasn't getting delivered they said it was cancelled by the 3rd party and I did not get any notification about that. I asked for my money back but they refused to give my money back at first. I refused to leave store until they did. The tablet was supposed to be a birthday gift. I used to love this store. The last three times I have gone in there for various reasons I have been given incorrect or misleading information. One time I went in to inquire about wiping a MacBook and was told it was free. I made an appointment and took it in. Not free at all. $150! I went in today and met with a young lady about trading in my watch. She was insistent that it wasn't eligible for trade in yet when I had just checked at home. She checked another way and found dit was indeed eligible and issued the gift card I requested. She was smug and I felt she was rude. Another time I went in and was told by a manager that "wow you buy a lot of watches". Don't think it is any of their business but I happen to have a large family and buy for them. I purchased an item with sales rep in store. A specific day for installation was agreed upon. After not receiving the confirmation call the night before , I called and found that my appointment was for a second home that I have in another state. I could not have been more specific as to the address and phone in OshKosh. I attempted to call the store manager to discuss this and after 5 mins was connected with an offshore team member... really !!! It's bad enough that you get a 12 hr window for Install... (the cable company is 1-2 hrs. )And then no responsibility to rectify a problem at the local level. I can shop elsewhere. Shame on Best Buy. read more

I had went in today to pick up my Samsung tablet for college. There was a gentleman with blonde hair blue eyes and had excellent customer service and got me my package right away. There was also another gentleman that was very sweet and easy on the eyes. Kinda got stuck looking at him...... excellent customer service and eye contact!! My Samsung is all ready to use. I purchased my laptop here in 2016, also the Geeks Squad set it up for me. I noticed the charger cord wasn't fitting right. I bought a new $40 battery and it worked until the charge ran out So i brought it in for service 11/20/2018 as it was shutting down. The Geeks can fix anything! Diagnosis - BY NASH - new mother board and charging receiver inside and shipped out for repair for $294.00. I signed, paid partial and off it went. 4 weeks later I stop in to find out where it is. It will be back tomorrow! Coincidence? 2. It wasn't fixed. Charger cord still didn't fit, it turns out they didn't do any repair, they were waiting for some communication, which I already signed the go ahead. 3. They sent it out again to have the repair done. 3 weeks later I stop into check on it, it will be here tomorrow...Coincidence?. It came back in and they had said the did the repair AND gave me a free new battery. (I just bought the battery!). I pay $294 balance and take it home. THE CHARGER STILL DOESNT FIT. I immediately call and tell them I am using it until the battery dies for job hunting and taxes then it is coming back as you didn't repair what you said you would and what you charged me for. 4. I went back in (2/9/2019 now) and one of the service members (BERNARD) listened to the back story, great patience, he understood the frustration and was going to find a solution. He takes one look at my charger and tells me it's broken inside! ALL THAT MONEY AND TIME OVER A BROKEN CHARGER CORD. 5. BERNARD spoke with a Best Buy Female manager and she says for me to call the 1-800 number for Geek Squad. FAIL #4. 6. BERNARD talks to another 6 team members who were chatting amongst themselves. MANAGER DAN chose to assist. Professional, he tried to understand the history and showed me a "universal cord" that still didn't fit right and that would be another $60. FAIL #5. I expected to receive a refund for what I paid in repairs and then I would be happy to pay for a charger. MANAGER DAN'S compromise was to give me (without charge now) the Universal charger and then tell me to buy the proper one on Amazon. "At least it will get you started using it". What the what? I am a Best Buy Elite member, I have been faithful to the Geeks Squad since it's inception. They are not what they used to be. I had to charge that $294 because I was unemployed and didn't have the money but needed the laptop to job search. Best Buy and the Geeks did not care about me, my laptop or their own integrity in customer service. You've lost a longtime loyal customer over a power cord charger and your inability to fix the problem. BERNARD was amazing, I'm certain he was new and he did what he could - I could see his hands were tied everywhere he turned. Management - Dan - you need to check the reason for your position. There is action required behind the title. Condescending vernacular is self serving and unnecessary in customer service. You never know who you are speaking with. read more

worst customer service i've ever experienced not only can you not get ahold of anyone on the phone but geek squad wiped my phone out and couldnt do anything just gave it back and tried leaving me without a phone. Now its been a week since they said "1 to 3 days" and im still without a phone nobody can tell me whats going on while i have to drive 30 min each time because they dont know how to us a damn phone. Best Buy can be hit or miss, but I've done pretty well at this location. Shopping for a set of laptop speakers, a manager walked around with me to see all the options and eventually discovered an opened set, discounted to just $16, that worked perfectly. Phone cases are reasonably well organized by type, and I found a set of two silicone ones on the clearance rack for just $2.99; again, just what I needed. And when I asked an employee for an adapter, he went and got it for me, no searching around and missing it three times. So while my first impulse is usually to go on Amazon, next time I'll stop in here first to see if they've got what I'm looking for. read more

Got an customer service person who said the same thing to me , couldn't get anybody on the phone , he replied they were short handed with the COVID-19 , I told him that excuse is getting old!!! I ordered something on line from this store and they sent 2 of them on separate orders. The customer service person hung up on me when I tried to stop the second order from being delivered!! I used to love shopping at Best Buy.. The atmosphere is great and the sales staff is eager to help. It wasn't until my last trip in that changed my opinion. I brought my surface pro to Geek Squad for a minor issue of the buttons sticking. They told me for $85 it would be sent out and they'd call me to either confirm or deny repairs if they exceeded that amount. I never received a call, so I called them. They told me a part was ordered for repair (which I was pleased about). When I received my device back after about 2 weeks, it wasn't repaired. I had to mention it to the associate I spoke with and he refunded me the original $85. He then mentioned it shouldn't have been sent out in the first place, as surface pros are notoriously difficult to work on. While slightly upset I accepted the refund and returned home.. a day or so later I noticed two marks on my device (in otherwise perfect condition) where it appeared they tried to remove my screen (shown below). It all seemed to make sense, as a prior agent I spoke to over the phone told me a part was ordered for repair. I called and spoke to someone who told me, "because #7 on the waiver reads, "I waive all damages not reported before leaving the store"" there is nothing they can do. While I understand how a contract works, I find it very discomforting to know that even if they claim to not repair your device you should have to check for damages. I then spoke to another person who reiterated the same message, and when I asked if this is the kind of services Geek Squad stands by they would not answer my question but simply refer my back to the dreaded #7. In the end I contacted Microsoft who told me they've had numerous issues with Geek Squad damaging devices and actually replaced my damaged surface pro 5 with a surface pro 6 at no charge. I know I'm one person, and maybe a rare case, but if I were you I'd buy directly from Microsoft, Apple, etc. read more

He answered all my questions to the fullest and made me feel like a very important customer. He informed me of all sorts of things I didn't know or understand. Really the only place i'll do 99% of my electronics shopping in store. If I can't get it here, I try their website or amazon. I'm an elite rewards member and find that it's the best way to go with extended return periods and other goodies. Almost always helpful employee's. Once in awhile there are a few who are very snobby/not personable, but luckily I rarely run into them. If you shop there, you should know from experience that many employee's will generally approach you during your visit. Even if your not looking at a particular item and just browsing. Typically I'll get asked 3-8 times if I need help. This is great because sometimes you say no, but moments later have a question and generally don't have to track an employee down. If you as a customer gets angry about employee's asking multiple times if you need help..Then I think you need therapy help for such a short fuse and getting angry over something so insignificant. Just brush it off your shoulders and enjoy the awesome selection of product. I've purchased tablets, computers, movies, speakers, games and all sorts of stuff from Best Buy. If I don't know the answer to sometime I look it up myself and if I can't find it, I ask an employee and they find out for me. Never really had a bad experience at this location before. In fact I have to praise their protection plans and helpfulness in the Geek Squad areas. My one single issue I've ever had was with a Toshiba sound bar, I had a 1 year plan and after 3-6 months the power adapter of all things failed (not the bar). I thought the unit died, brought everything in, and did some testing and determined it was the adapter. They called a parts department in another location, got me a replacement and shipped it to me within 2 business days for free. Now that...is freaking awesome service. read more

Best Buy is my favorite place to go to find help with my computers. If you can find a tech to help you, you will find them a wealth of information. The only thing I find aggravating is they don't hire enough employees to help customers and you just have to hang out until one is available which can be a long wait. read more

Ok ill tell you i hate best buy , i had ordered a stackable washer/dryer , frist i was told that deliver date was the 11th of may then for some reason the date got pushes back to may 21st , geek squad and took the old one out , but they took back the hose they said i din't need , only to find out i need that part , now they did take the price off , but i had to go back and get that part for the dryer , now i know i did' the right socket so thay could'nt hook up the plug , and that part i needed a different socket , how ever thay did take that part off the bill so i had to wait 10 extra days , now i had ordered a sony cdx g1200u , and that was supposed to come in on tha 8 of may , i was told when it came they would either text me or call me when it was in , and i had to call them on the 9th of may if i did not call , i would not have known it was in , i will never shop at best buy again , i have spent over 2000 dollars at tha oshkosh store and i had to wait at the customer service desk for 10 minutes for some body to help me andbi was there at 10am when it opened up , very terrible since i was the only one inline .... i will never spend another dime at any best buy store at all , the service , flat out was unprofessional read more

I called to make an appointment and was told that the person that runs the department would not be back until Thursday. Okay, that happens, but I was then told that they do not make appointments for this person as he is particular about his appointments. I questioned this person, and sensing that I was annoyed, claimed that they were going to ask around to see if anyone else knew his "quirks" I am thinking, who runs the store? Came back and stated that no knew his quirks and would not be making the appointment, because when he is not happy no one is happy. Again, really? Called customer care, who then put me in touch with the store manager. Explained what happened. Was more concerned about making the appointment than going in a proper order which is hey I am sorry about that, let me help you out. Asked me if I got the name of the person I was talking to, stated no, and well that is my fault as she may not be able to track down who it was that I was talking to. Really, how many do you have working there at this time of day, that are male and answer the phones? I explained my concerns of forcing an appointment that may upset this person, and was told he would just have to deal with it. While this is a general statement, it holds true in most cases, anyone knows that when a person is forced, you most likely would not get the service you would expect. Expressed those concerns and was told that (again my fault) I should not base my opinion on the store and how it operates based on this one person. I advised that this 1st impression is the most important and this person represents you and your store. Advised that she may want to have conversations with her associates about the impressions was told half hearted that she would sensing that I was not going to trust my concerns to her or her employees or provide them with a sale. While I doubt if she will, they need to really go back to basic 101 on customer service as they are clearly lacking. read more
