Worst experience I've ever had getting a new phone. I came here to get a note 4 cause I was told I could get 200 for my old smartphone. Well everything went wrong, it took over a month to get my phone there promise date was far, once the phone came in they had lots of excuses why they could not keep there trade in promise, after a 2 hours I decided to walk out could not take there childish attitude left my deposit and my old phone.i also told them not to mess with my plan cause I could not restore it if they did. I give the lowest possible review to Best Buy, not due to the availability of products but to the crass manner in which they handle technological issues/repairs. A customer can NEVER get through to a sales rep in the department about which she is calling or a product about which she is concerned. Instead, we must make a Geek Squad appointment, which delays discussion/resolution/repair by many days, often over a week. (This unavailability of service help is NOT related to Covid-19; this is Best Buy's regular routine.) I need my technology to be fully functional, always, so I paid extra for a 2-year warranty that should cover repairs. Of what use is it to have purchased such a warranty if life is made more complicated by a lack of service personnel and the store won't simply FIX bad equipment (in this case, a shredder, without facing the delaying tactics of the Geek Squad)? In such a case, Best Buy breaks faith with customers by avoiding, rather than outright refusing, to meet its obligations. read more

I just visited my local Best Buy for the first time. There was horrible rap music blaring entirely too loudly the entire time I was there. The general demographic of the customers, when I was there, was middle-aged white people... I don't think they are rap lovers. The movie section was a wreck and overflowing with Blueray no where near enough DVDs. The cashier I had, Nick, was cool. He made me feel understood and welcome. Good guy that Nick. Best Buy in Oxnard needs some serious employee training or discipline. The second I walked in, there was extremely annoying music blaring through the entire store, EMPLOYEES dancing and not greeting any customer that walked in. Granted it was closer to closing time and I'm sure they all want to go home, but still the employees are there to give CUSTOMER SERVICE. I never received an ipad pro that I ordered from Bestbuy. I was notified by Bestbuy email that it had arrived via the carrier Ontrac at 1:25pm at my apartment's Amazon hub locker. However, I never received an email notification that it had arrived at my locker. I called Best Buy and Ontrac multiple times after not receiving the package. I contacted Best Buy via online support to notify them that I never receive the package. They said at that time that they could reship the missing item or refund my purchase after they performed their own investigation. I also called Ontrac to report that I never received the package. They said that they would open an investigation and contact the driver that was on duty that day. After several more calls to Ontrac, they told me that the package was confirmed to have arrived at my address via GPS and driver query. After following up with Best Buy multiple times regarding the status of the investigation, they told me that the investigation was closed and I was not eligible for a refund and that I HAD TO FILE A REPORT WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT AND THAT THERE NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO HELP ME. I could not believe that I had to go through so much trouble just to track down my own package. I then called Best Buy several times to get an explanation for why the investigation had been closed. Each time the representative was dismissive and said that I needed to contact the carrier (which I already did on multiple occasions), that I needed to contact my manager, or that I had to file a police report. I ended up filing a police report with the LAPD. At this point I called both Amazon and my apartment manager for records of incoming and outgoing packages for my apartment, which confirmed that my package never arrived. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE FROM BEST BUY AGAIN. read more

This store has a huge variety of gadgets at competitive prices. I looked up a few items on my phone and the gentleman who helped me gave me the price to match the items I found. I really like walking into a store and seeing an employee every 5 feet. It's great to have so much help available! The only drawback from my experience is an employee could have been more knowledgeable about the area he worked in. For example: I wanted a special cable for a speaker. The gentleman tried to sell me a high quality cable and a low quality adapter to make the product work. I haven't been in here much, just on a few occasions. The one experience I did have was with some female employee who was extremely rude to me when I asked her to get a refund for an item I purchased at another Best Buy. She rudely told me that I couldn't get the refund there and that I should go where I got it. But I did that before in the same store and they let me do it. So she just didn't want to be there that day and basically told me to get out. She had such an ugly look on her face too. If you don't want to work with anyone you should quit your job and find a new one that suits your needs. read more

This review more applies to the on line services and Best Buy Oxnard. If I could give a negative five stars, I would!!! Should change their name to Worst Buy! We spent $$$$ on appliances and it turned into a stressful nightmare! First they did not deliver the items when they said they would, which caused us to change our plans (twice) and wait around for them to show up. Then the installers did not show up when they were suppose to. And when the installers did finally showed up, brought the wrong vehicle and could not haul away the old appliances with the trash. In addition, they screwed up the installations, damaging our double oven and did not install our two dishwashers correctly. Now they are giving us a difficult time making things right. Bad customer service. Managers are not helpful. On 11/25/16 we went in to see about purchasing a phone. The associate we spoke to said here is a phone for you and it is an upgrade, but your phone bill will only go up $2.00 a month. Come to find out when we got our first bill there was an activation fee and bill went up to $27 a month and would continue on our bill for the next 24 months. The associate never told us about any of this. We went back to the store and spoke with Andrew Bowman (manager), who then passed our problem on to Jessica Horowitz(manager), who was very hard to reach and after going back and fourth with her for almost a month or a little over a month finally came to the resolution on 1/21/17 that there was nothing they could do for us. The reason I stopped shopping at Best Buy stores is because it was too difficult to get any assistance from the employees. I recently needed to call their store to ask about something, but by the time I was able to actually reach a live person, I was already irritated by the maze of endless recordings. There was no press 9 for a representative option. It didn't help that the girl who answered my call wasn't sure if the information she was giving me was correct. We were looking for a MacBook, yes we came in with money in hand looking at MacBooks for about 30 mins, not once did anyone bother to approach us and ask us for assistance, we had lots of questions, since MacBooks aren't your usual laptops, so we had lots of questions, but we don't want to be begging an associate to help us. We want people to be passionate about their products and ambitious about the company they represent. We continued to check out the system she wanted, their was also a couple next to us looking at computers and debating on if that's the laptop they want, I was able to answer a few questions about MacBooks to them, but I'm no sales associate, so I really can't push sales because I myself do have lots of questions, it would really help if associates talked to the customers and not themselves, to be fair a young lady did approach and assist us as we were looking at the very small section of Wii U games. If I could give them 0 stars I would. I bought a $500 Samsung smart TV from them on the night of black Friday. When I went home to set it up, it had a large crack in the screen. I tried calling bestbuy and got no answer for over 15 minutes. So we brought it in to the Oxnard location and tried to exchange it. I was not trying to get my money back, just a working TV. I told them what was wrong, and immediately they starting accusing me of breaking it/ lying about how it got broken. They brought back a manager, who was a lot nicer than the other employees, but she still said it cant be returned or refunded because it was broken. She said that she could tell that it had been broken outside of bestbuy, which is obviously impossible. She gave me a corpate phone number, which turned out to be useless because they do not take back anything broken. Even if i was broken out of the box. So im out $500 for a TV that was probably broken during the black Friday madness, and lack of caring for the employee. My guess is that it was dropped. Oh and if you do pay for the insurance, its a waste of money, because it doesn't cover cracks or damage. I would avoid this best buy at all costs, and due to their bad customer service and return policy, I wouldn't shop at bestbuy for anything. If I could give no stars I would. My iPhone stopped working. After spending three hours at Best Buy, the technical came out and told me it was my screen and it was not under warranty because "some other company replaced it." THREE HOURS! for something that should have taken no more then an hour. There were other people at Best Buy Geeks who had also been waiting. Little did the technician know that I was able to see in the back through a crack in the window covering. He and his "techies" were talking at for a long, long time -- he was not even looking at my phone. The manager...what a joke! He was not helpful. Told me that a laptop was going to be 0% interest for 18 months, at the end of the 18 months there was an outstanding payment of around 50 dollars left instead of changing the interest on the remaining balance they slap a huge interest percent on what ever the original total was skyrocketing my bill up to $600 with no warning of these repercussions. I would suggest anyone considering buying a computer from Best Buy to consider going elsewhere! I purchased a Mac Book Pro from Best Buy in Thousand Oaks in July of 2014 for my daughter to take to college. It was a very expensive purchase but I was told it would last a long time as it had the "new" solid state drive. She had various problems with it in the 4 years but we we payed for the geek squad plan and they always seemed to get it running again. Here we are 4 years later and we are now told that the computer is "too old" as geek squad is saying the computer was manufactured in 2010 and is 8 years old. So I guess if you buy a computer here you better research the serial number so they don't sell you 4 year old stock for a new price. I called customer service who said someone would get back to me regarding this issue within 48 hours. Today three days later I get an email saying thank you for calling geek squad sorry to hear of your issue but we can't help you, please call 888 bestbuy which is the exact thing I did 3 days ago. Not only will you buy 4 year old technology sold as state of the art stuff but then when you complain they will put you on hold and give you the run around until you hire an attorney or go away. Went to Pacific Sales for a new Kitchenaid dishwasher to replace our wonderful 14-year-old Kitchenaid. A complete failure in customer service, product performance and customer satisfaction. The new $900 Kitchenaid - 'feature comparable' to our existing model was unusable junk. While recommended by Pacific Sales staff, the recommendation didn't bear out on Kitchenaid's own website customer reviews. Wouldn't clean dishes, wouldn't dry dishes, burned the jet dry on glassware and always smelled horrible! Bottom dish rack fell right off the door. Three service tech calls to the house from Kitchenaid, -- new motor, new pump,new rollers, and other parts on back order for 5 months. Pacific Sales says - "not our problem" call Kitchenaid. 5 Months later, Kitchenaid finally agreed to replace it. Back to Pacific Sales for a different model - I must pay the upgrade. Salesman claimed the model I wanted was discontinued, but actually it was just no longer carried by Pacific Sales. Of course, Pacific Sales bungled the delivery, as did they on the first purchase, and just showed up unannounced, They never called to make an appt. Same pattern as the first purchase where delivery service couldn't get it right or pick up to old unit. Called in a for a refund and went elsewhere. Suggest you do the same. No more Kitchenaid, definitely no more Pacific Sales. read more

I have purchased 3 computers from this location never an issue. Come in, see what you want slide your card and be on your merry way. These (2) previous purchases were just that way. Now this is where it gets exciting. I purchased a Dell in August of 2015. Up until today I had brought it in for service because it kept getting the blue screen of death! Hard drive failures, wireless card failed, mouse doesn't show up on screen countless problems! I have owned the computer for 6 months, 2 months of that it had been in Geek squad's possession. I played by the rules, and kept giving them an attempt to fix it. Alas! No dice, they were unable to repair it. And after speaking with numerous people at the location I was told I was to deal with it. There was nothing that Best Buy could do because "if we exchanged it, we would be losing money" I'm sorry, you sold me a shotty product, now you need to stand behind it. Just the same if it was the other way around. I was told time and time again, nothing they can do and they would not issue a refund, 2 managers later, beyond frustrated and never wanting to shop at Best Buy again in my life and being out 575.82 on a pile of s**t paperweight was the best feeling in the world. This is where ***Jose M*** comes in, Jose is the Geek squad manager, he came up, calm, collected and could obviously see I was frustrated. (Without using the same approach numerous other employees there had done with the instantaneous NO... NO... NO... SORRY NOTHING WE CAN DO... NO... NO... NO...) He asked me what the issue was, he said calmly let me look into it, look at the records on the computer, looked at the pictures I had on my personal phone of the blue screen of death, and made the final decision to take the computer back. (Your probably thinking WHAT THE $$&@ how is that possible, it was that easy??) Apparently Jose M. Is the only one in Best Buy that should be in a Managment position because he is the only one who in concerned with customer satisfaction, customer loyalty, and actually ensuring a customer is truly satisfied. When it comes to the 'Nordstrom's approach' to customer service, Once again Jose M. You have this approach to customer service down! Here is where Angel comes in, after not believing or wanting to talk to anyone who had told me no no no before, because they have no idea on how customer service works, or with the lack of trust I have with any combination of words that would come out of their mouth, based on the fact they were so quick to try to tell me no and get me back out the door. Angel was instructed to help me with issuing my refund, and then offered his assistance if I wanted to check out some new computers, to replace the defective one I had just returned. I took him up on this offer and he led me over ran me through all my options the best he could, he was very knowledgeable and I truly felt I could believe what he was telling me. He seemed interested in finding a computer that would fit my needs. In no way was I rushed or pressured into my purchase. At the end of the day, the lesson here is (to the Best Buy employees) without the customer you have NO JOB. If you don't want to do your job, which is helping the customer, you should look j ok working elsewhere where it doesn't involve customer service. I have been in this industry 10 years. The customer is your job, not the product the sooner you realize that the farther you will get. You can sell coffee and have horrible customer service, and you won't have return customers; you can have horrible coffee and have AMAZING customer service and people will come back time and time again, why? The experience. I hope you realize this. If you can't realize what the above is trying to say, remember this Be like Jose and Angel, Jose and Angel care about the customer. Jose and Angel have earned my repeat business. Best Buy, if in fact your policy's are to say no no no. You need to figure something out, or look into that. I walked in for a refund of 575.82 I walked out spending 1083.99 Your employees that insisted NO NO NO because you (Best Buy) would lose money, need to understand they almost lost another $508.17 because of their eagerness to say No no no! Two stars because no member of the staff was the problem. Instead it was a failure in the process. Below I detail my experience regarding the replacement of a device known to be defective. I have an extended warranty and the device suffered from a well documented known issue. They said they would replace the device with the same potentially defective model. If the same defect emerged I would liable if it emerged after the original warranty expired. In effect delaying the issue. Not addressing it. I asked for clarification and they said they would provide terms and conditions. I am not interested in spending too much time on a hypothetical so I will cross that bridge if I get to it. That said here is a letter I wrote that details my entire best buy experience. The process seems to have broken down somewhere and I for one wouldn't recommend Best Buy until their processes improve: I am hoping to get some clarification on a replacement Microsoft Surface 4 tablet and how it works with my existing warranty. I spoke to one of your agents this morning and I'm hoping you can first confirm this statement to be true: If my replacement tablet exhibits the same documented and known behavior as the tablet I turned in, it will only be covered until my current tablet's existing warranty expires (or thirty days, whichever is greater). Second, if the above statement is true can you please identify what clause(s) make this clear in the warranty agreement. Please provide your objective feedback for the above requests. Below I will share some additional feedback so that it too is documented but I don't expect it to impact what I've requested above. My experience with Best Buy the last few days has been pretty bad. Though I will say I do not have an issue with any one particular member of Geek Squad's or Best Buy's staff. While I'm happy about that, I fear that this highlights a bigger breakdown in the entire Best Buy customer experience. I'm currently creating a new company that focuses on the nuances of inbound marketing and subscription services so perhaps my issues are the results of big company process adoption growing pains. I hope it is that, as I've come to appreciate having access to Best Buy's many locations and extended warranties over the years. While it may be true that Best Buy's interpretation of their extended warranty is that Best Buy is no longer responsible for a replacement product if it becomes defective for the same reasons after warranty, I'm not sure what this says about trusting them moving forward. A big reason for purchasing the extended warranty in the first place is because there is an element of trust between the customer and Best Buy that simply does not exist with the manufacturer. When Best Buy takes the stance that it is acceptable to simply kick the ball until the issue becomes the customer's responsibility you really have to wonder if you can ever expect that they have your best interests in mind in the first place. Microsoft hasn't done anything to address the issue and where the little guy apparently can't do anything Best Buy has the unique opportunity to take a stand on their behalf. Yet it seems they choose to side with Microsoft in this case providing a costly service disguised as a warranty. But let's say that my entire experience was the replacement of the product. Would I complain after getting clarifcation? Probably not. I would trust that Best Buy had my interests in mind. But let's talk about how the experience over the last few days has really broken down for me: Day 1 * Made Geek Squad appointment via 1-800 number. Went smoothly. I use my tablet for work and was told I could request a loner as some locations will make exceptions. * Called Oxnard location about four times to ask about temporary laptop. Spoke to about three people but got disconnected or never got anybody on the phone that could answer. When I finally asked for a manager it just rang and rang. I gave up and decided I would by a chrome book on the cheap to hold me over. Day 2 * Day before rescheduled Geek Squad appointment. Went to best buy to get spare chrome book and VGA cable. * Asked for help locating VGA cable. Was given an open box item. While losing patience waiting for assistance with a laptop purchase I opened it up and it was the wrong component in the box. Close call. I would have bought this item regardless of what happened next. * Waited thirty minutes for assistance with the laptop. When assistance came, I waited another 10-15 minutes only to find out it wasn't in stock Day 3 * Came in for repair appointment at 2pm. Wasn't helped until 3:10 by a new lady to the floor. * After waiting 55 minutes, the main attendant offers to help people there for pickup appointments scheduled 20 minutes after mine. * 15 minutes later I am helped.
