I made an appointment with the "Geek Squad" to repair the back of my iPhone. Upon arriving at 5:40 PM, I was told that the repair would take approximately three hours, but they couldn't do it that day because their "tech" had to leave at 7 PM. The store's scheduled closing time that day was 9 PM. I spoke with the manager on site, who tried to help by calling the "Geek Squad tech" back. Once again, I did not feel like a valued customer. When I asked why they would accept a repair appointment if they didn't have a technician available to complete the job, the tech simply shrugged, as if he couldn't care less. At that point, I realized I was just wasting my time dealing with someone who clearly had no concern for customer satisfaction or retention. The worst part is that I have been a Best Buy customer for many years. I even have their credit card and extended warranties for my 65" TV. Needless to say, Best Buy lost a customer today. I am canceling my Best Buy credit card and extended warranties, and I will never set foot in a Best Buy store again. read more

So I bought a kitchen AAT Refrigerator that ended up cost me almost $3000 less than two years ago and the ice machine broke a couple of months ago. I also have their Best Buy warranty and it took 16 days and me calling back to dry to find out what was going on with getting a repair. They had no problem. Taking my $110 and then not communicating with me. Unless I called back. Then I was told that they didn't have a way to replace it because that model is no longer available and they need to go in to find a new Refrigerator which would've been nice, except for the fact that everything they had in there at that price range was not even close to as nice as the one that I have. So now they're refusing to give me back the money that they took for me to get it fixed, and I have to hire somebody to come and fix it. Seems like quite a scam to me and I am extremely upset with them to top it off. There is a lady and older lady who works on the floor over there in the appliances that every time I've gone in to get an appliance. It's obvious she does not like children and she's extremely neurotic about my eight year-old touching anything at all, and has made both of us extremely uncomfortable more than once, but today I finally stood up to her and told her that it was not OK and I didn't appreciate the way she was behaving. Anyway, I'm really disappointed because I've bought a lot of stuff from this place. Not really sure what I'm gonna do after this, but they definitely get a one star from me. read more

Yet another Best Buy i went in today wanting to upgrade my iPhone 14 to an iPhone 17. I had literally thousands of pictures that I hadn't backed up onto my iCloud but thankfully they helped me out and made sure I didn't lose anything. The employee took care of everything and helped me through the process. This store is effectively, super helpful and friendly. She went above and beyond (didn't catch her name) but she was Filipino, I must say she was extremely knowledgeable and resourceful. For certain anytime I want to upgrade my phone I come here, easier to deal with them than going to an actual version store where they give you a rundown and a headache. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I needed to return a laptop because the wrong computer was delivered to me. What should have been a straightforward fix turned into weeks of frustration. The store staff were unable--and seemingly unwilling--to help, including the manager. The most unbelievable part: when I asked one employee for his name, he gave me a false name in writing. That alone says everything about the level of professionalism here. To be fair, I should mention that I had recently changed the email address on my Best Buy account, and because of that, the website's return function did not work properly in my case. That made the return process less straightforward for the staff. However, this does not excuse a manager being rude and impatient, nor does it excuse an employee lying outright. It has now been three weeks since the original purchase, and I still have not received my refund for the incorrectly delivered laptop. I will wait another three days and then initiate a chargeback with my credit card company. Fortunately, everything is fully documented. In summary: * The deal looked good--about $50 cheaper than elsewhere * The wrong laptop was delivered, and it arrived late * In-store return was not possible * I was lied to by staff, ignored and patronized by a manager * Three weeks later, I still don't have my money back Never again. read more

I would give this place-2 star review if it were possible. I walked around this store looking for a cordless phone in every single department, every single shelf. No employee or manager EVER came up to me and asked me if I needed help. Just stared me up and down like I had 3 heads or something. I went to Target in the mall and within minutes a young man asked if he could help me. I explained about the cordless phone and he said they haven't sold them in about two months. But if I wanted to wait a couple of minutes he would check in the back because sometimes they have leftover merchandise. I waited and he came back with two different ones and he rang me up right away. I wish this guy was on commission because I would have bought both of them because he was so kind. I was thinking I'd have to wait for a customer service rep to help me but the floor manager Luke got me assistance quickly! He showed me their specials and I had my eye on a LG gram. They won't honor the price even though it was the same day unless I go to the store and return it and rebuy it. Obviously if I bought it online it's because I can't make it to the store so the policy is designed to make customers feel like they are covered but then make it unlikely the customer can take advantage of that coverage of price matching. Spent over $2300 for a stackable washer and dryer only to have two installers show up asking me "where's the stacking kit". Apparently when you buy a stackable washer and dryer they don't offer the stacking kit along with it, in spite of the fact that they offer other accessories when you order the set. So after being without a washer/dryer for over a week I am now waiting for them to arrange a second appointment, although they were saying I needed to buy the stacking kit on my own as the installers apparently don't have them on hand. Usually I try to balance out my negative and positive comments when I post a review cause I realize nobody's perfect and things happen.....but this place is blatantly rude and terrible. Not to mention a mess, (pics included). I was in the computer area searching for a cord for my printer and also looking at a new desktop computer. Well they only had one type of cord in the whole store. One, in a tech store, weird. But whatever. I waited for the guy working in that department for about ten minutes to ask some questions then decided I could use the Google on the internet machine at home rather than waste more of my life's minutes. I took my precious cord and the printer paper to the front and stood in line. Yes, there was a line in a fairly empty store. One cashier was helping someone, when another one came up and told the woman standing in front of me, "I kept noticing you standing there so I came out to help you." Nice job customer service representative. Before their transaction was finished, someone else came up and started talking with this rockstar. Apparently they were done cause after about a minute they both turn to the customer and the representative says, "You're good. You can go." Ummm, what? What is that??? Anyway, the two employees kept jabbering while I stood there for another few minutes without so much as an acknowledgment. I was fed up at this point. I dropped my would-be purchase on the counter and walked out. I'm keeping this review PG for Yelp's sake. But the treatment of the woman in front of me was disrespectful and you Best Buy and your employees should be ashamed. You shouldn't have any customers period. I am a business owner in this county and if I treated one of my valued customers like that, it would be the end. read more

I have been a customer of Best Buy for years. I purchased my current seven televisions from them, along with so many other products. I needed boxes for these mounted TVs and Home Depot television boxes are pricey. I went to Best Buy to see if they had any extra television boxes and I first spoke with Maria at the front (super nice & helpful); then I spoke with Thurston. Thurston had a super nice, pleasant smile and asked how he could help. Wow! I love this store when the customer service is like this, and it always is!! The employees at Best Buy have always been so nice! This company clearly keeps its employees happy & they enjoy working together and it shows. I'm so curious what it is. But Thurston, he was so kind and assisted me with my request. He coordinated, multi-tasked while helping others, and was true to his word. I went back, received some boxes and I will edit this post when I get the names of the other nice employees at Best Buy that assisted me with my needs. Greetings upon entry. I had just bought the latest iPhone and wanted to get a screen cover for it. Not only did someone help me look for one, but they also even put it on for me! Great place to check out new electronic devices and computer equipment. Overall, very pleasant place. I'm giving this a 4 star review because of a bad experience I had with a geek squad person. I took an iPod that I accidentally broke the charging port on over there. I wanted to know if they could fix it and how much it would cost. The person there tried to be nice but you can tell he didn't want to be there and was fed up with who knows what. And he kept getting more antsy the more he conversed with me. This made me really uncomfortable and eventually declined to getting it fixed here. I don't know what expression he had as I walked away, but I'm sure it was pretty bad. Ok so we've been loyal to Home Despot for years, and it's still my auto-pilot place for home repairs, but twice now, Best Buy has impressed us with their prices, delivery time, and installation people. They contract with a third party, and it is SO much better than Home Depot's installation process for big appliances. For one big appliance last year, HD kept delaying the arrival and not communicating well. We cancelled the order and Best Buy had our appliance there and the installation guys were amazing. So when our fridge died, we went with Best Buy. No regrets. read more

Bought a sound system for my TV. First appointment they never showed or called. When I contacted BB they apparently didn't have the system in stock yet never told me this. This happened several times over. I kept giving them yet another chance for about a month since they are basically the only game in town. I just don't get it, just communicate and let people know what's happening. Apparently communication is also horrible within BB too. You call and they have one answer and you go into the store and they have another answer. Then you call the main number and you get another answer. Forget it! I'm done with Best Buy. Just bought a 65 inch TV, it didn't work. It happens, I understand that. But when I called the store, they wanted me to drive back there and buy a $20 universal remote to fix it. First, they should've just given me the remote. It would've been nice to have the geek squad come and make sure it even worked. Instead, I got hung up on. Are they stuck on stupid? I had to pay a neighbor to bring it up two flights of stairs, just had to pay that neighbor to take it down two flights of stairs, and return it. Two ** on iPhone battery replacement 1. Arrive @ my appointment time of 3:20 pm. 2. Clerk took 30 minutes to check-in 3. Told it would take 2-3 hours to complete. A lot of BS about diagnostics taking a long time. (other Apple places do it in an hour) 4. Arrive back @ 6:30 pm. Clerk takes my receipt to the back room and never returns. Twenty five minutes later tech (girl - won't use her full C name) appears and asks if phone started. More BS as she knows when you check the phone in they do a power check. Also to get the serial number. Further BS from her that she would "give me a new phone if she can't fix it." Yeah right, you have spare iPhones lying around for exchanges. She tells me it would be ready the next day @ 10:30 am. 4. Arrive @10:30 am, hand the clerk my receipt. He's mutters "Oh, you have that phone". He goes to the back and like his prior day cohort disappears for 15 minutes, then comes out with the cell. Bottom line, Soquel Best Buy Geek Squad needs more experience to change iPhone batteries in a timely manner. I do not recommend this place, go elsewhere. read more

I came in one time, I was initially looking for a phone cord charger. I got what I needed, and more. However, there was one young guy who I saw walking past me. I tried to get his attention to ask a question, and he kind of half way turned around like he heard me then he kept walking as if he didn't hear me. It was really awkward, but he asked me later like i think I saw you try to get my attention. I had always gotten my answer by then. The store was pretty picked over in the smaller items, and they were doing construction at the time inside the store. I would say the time that I visited, I found employees were not as helpful as in the past or compared to the Marina best buy. I probably would recommend marina best buy over the one in soquel. read more
