I scheduled an appointment through Apple to have my new phone serviced and arrived exactly at my appointed time. Upon checking in, the Geek Squad representative appeared visibly frustrated and disengaged. I was not greeted or acknowledged professionally and was simply told to "have a seat," without any explanation of the process or what to expect next. After waiting for 10 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, there was still no communication regarding the delay or an estimated wait time. The lack of basic courtesy and communication made it clear that my appointment time was not being respected. This experience was frustrating and unprofessional, especially given that the appointment was pre-scheduled through Apple. As a result, I have lost confidence in using this location for any future Apple product support and do not plan to return. read more

Was directed as an option to go to geek squad by Apple to get a battery replaced on an Apple Watch. The rude gentleman said "there is no battery". My wife told him to give it back. We didn't want anyone who thought an Apple Watch doesn't have a battery to work on her watch. Have an appointment at the Apple Store to get a battery replaced. Arrived at 2:54p to the geek squad counter with one service employee doing absolutely nothing but joking around with his co workers told me to come back right at 3 for the appointment. Best Buy has no business installing security and or video camera systems. My system worked for less than 2 years. One at a time cameras stop working and now the doorbell. This is specific to installation services. If you want to put out several hundred dollars for a stereo, back up camera, microphone, etc., and then drive around in a silent vehicle with the radio either not working, going on and off, or make squealing ignition interference whine, this is the place for you. Twice I have purchased a new stereo for my truck and had Best Buy install it. Twice the faulty installation has killed the radio. I brought my vehicle back twice for them to fix the ignition while, he blamed it on the SHIELDED Bose system and not on his poor ground connection, even though the whine wasn't there until they touched it. I initially wasn't happy walking in because I had a terrible experience in Modesto Best Buy. Robert was amazing. I walked into this Best Buy from the outside. It looked a little bit rundown, but the inside everyone seems super friendly, and three people ended up approaching us pretty quickly. The girl I spoke to was very nice and I told her that I wanted her to be opinionated and give me her opinion on what she thought was the best case for a phone., front and rear car, camera, portable charger, and portable Wi-Fi. I knew I was giving her a lot, but she met the challenge with energy and gusto. Life proof cases for phones have always been my favorite sad. Am I to learn they are no longer in business, but she suggested utilizing case to buy, which also is very similar to life proof but also has the built-in magnet for ease with use with magnet chargers, and they come in all different kinds of designs And colors. I think it's a good substitute if you've ever had a life proof case. She gave a recommendation on a front and rear camera based on her knowledge of what the installer said were the most reliable ones for them to install. She showed me a slim, magnetic portable charger with no wires that it can actually hang onto the back of your phone through the magnet and you can pop them both into your pocket which I thought was great. It's actually charges pretty quickly , and I was able to use it all of today while still keeping my phone charged. She was even able to pull up a portable Wi-Fi desk that they sell through orders, that was unexpected. She had an answer for everything and it was great. read more

Best buy has the worst customer service! I purchased two appliances, paid for delivery, and hual away. Two very rude unhelpful guys came to deliver my appliances. They installed and hauled away one, the other one they said they were unable to disconnect it (had someone not a proffessional do it with no issues) so being they could not disconnect the unit they did not haul it away but yet they marked the haul away as complete. I called the same day to ask why this was mark as completed being they did not haul away the unit, I was told they need to wait until the end of the day when the delivery guys came back to get more accurate infromation, she couldn't reschedule the haul away or refund me. I NEVER received a call or email back to reschedule or anything. I called today to finally say I just want a refund, person on the phone was not friendly at all actually pretty rude but he did submit for the refund now to just wait and see if I actaully get it. I Purchased everything online and made an appointment for installation. I showed up this morning quite early waiting for them to open. I got there and they said I had no appointment in the system. However, the two guys that were doing the installation were able to accommodate me anyways and get me in. It only took them a couple hours to install everything. Bestbuy Geeksquad will steal your money! I purchased two phones in December 2019 with an Apple care plan for two years (at which time the plan should have been shut off). Bestbuy continued to charge me after those two years. They will not refund those overcharges even though they know it was a mistake on their end. I called several times to customer care (they suck), billing, etc. just to be told they can't help me and won't pass me on to their manager. I have filed three claims only to be rejected on each. They refuse to email me the excuse as to why they are denying me the refund. I have never had to call and cancel an AppleCare plus plan on any devices. Stay away from bestbuy! They will scam you! I haven't been to Best Buy in ages but found myself running around to multiple stores looking for a non-smart phone i could stick an existing card into. I went into Best Buy and headed straight for the phones. A guy briefly helped direct me to the AT&T phones. There we no demo floor models to see and feel so I had a lot of questions. I headed over to the information/checkout and waited for a few minutes before Cathy called me over to assist. I explained to her what I was looking for and since she didn't know, but she took extra time to help me and look up the specs and explain what she could for me about the product. She also explained she couldn't open the package before I purchased but told me what the return policy was. I purchased it and opened it right away at the counter only to figure out that the card slot was too small for my card, so I returned it and left. I went back to AT&T and saw they were selling the exact same phone (for double the price) and that I just needed a different card type to fit that phone. So I headed back to Best Buy and asked for Cathy to purchase back the same phone I just returned! Not only was Cathy knowledgeable and helpful but had the patience of a saint. I appreciated her customer service and will be sure to go back to her next time I need something from Best Buy. I wish all who worked in customer service were as helpful as her! I had error message popping up that said I had viruses and Trojan horses infecting my computer. Before I clicked on anything, I shut my computer down and jumped in the car to get help from my local Geek Squad. Chris was on duty ( 8/26 around 715 pm) in the Geek Squad area. He not only talked me off the ledge (I was sure my computer was toast and that any personal data I had on the computers was now in the hands of hackers), but he also knew exactly what the problem was and solved it in less than a half an hour. He was friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. He did not make me feel stupid (which is usually what I feel when computer problems come up). he explained to me in language I could understand what was going on and reassured me that I had done everything right by closed the system down without clicking on a very convincing pop up. He gave me options for follow up without any kind of pressure and was able to give me prices and details on those options easily and quickly. I have always thought what makes our local Best Buy so good is the people that they hire, and this was confirmed again tonight. I continue to buy my devices from this store not only because of the selection and convenience of shopping locally but mostly because the employees there know what they are doing and always come through when I need help, just like Chris did tonight! I am 35 minutes into a phone call, trying to get Geek Squad to help me with an Aluratek connection between my phone and home entertainment center. Have spoken to 6 people, the Geek Squad woman couldn't get my phone number right and after I explained the problem she put me on hold without saying anything. Next I know, I'm talking to online sales. Now, 40+ minutes in, I am again on hold. I just got the phone number for Aluratek so I can call them tomorrow. Because Best Buy cannot help me. I ordered a keystone 10,000BTU CASEMENT WINDOW AIR CONDITIONER rated for a 450 square foot room. I paid $460 for this unit. I have my receipt that has my order number and all the details including a color picture of the AC unit I ordered. When I received the AC it was completely wrong not even close it was a Fridgidaire 6000BTU rated for a250 square foot room. I instantly called the Best Buy customer service number. I was told that a replacement was being sent out and that UPS would contact me within 24 hours to pick up the AC unit. However, UPS did not contact me they showed up I was at work they left a sticker, so no biggie. I called Best Buy customer service again and have them just give me a mailing label and I would take it to UPS myself again no problems I did ask why my replacement unit was being prepared for two days why it hadn't shipped I was informed that it will be here Monday, May 22 so I went down yesterday dropped the wrong AC unit at the UPS got a receipt with the tracking number to go back to Best Buy this morning. I go on to track my replacement AC even though it wasn't a replacement I never got it to begin with. It was the complete wrong one like I stated before when I checked the tracking, it said replacement order canceled , I never canceled it I called and I spoke to a person I couldn't understand but I believe her name was Crystal and she said her employee number is 312841608. I told her I didn't cancel it that I am expecting my AC , as I live in the northern California valley where it gets super hot, she said you can only get one replacement per order and that that was already issued she didn't stated I could get a refund and go ahead and buy it again I think not. There is no way I would ever order anything from Best Buy again. The lady would not let me speak to a manager or supervisor. Definitely wasn't treated like a valued customer obviously because I'm not then stated that my return of my money would be 10 to 15 business days. Not ok. I have $460 tied up for almost a month and live check to check so now I have to wait 15 business days until I have access to MY money that I paid to Best Buy for a specific product I never received I still would of bought the AC unit from Best Buy if the customer service was halfway acceptable. But it wasn't even close. I have never experienced worse customer service in my 38 years on this planet I'll be waiting for my money and definitely not going to buy again from Best Buy and will do absolutely anything I can to get this message out to the public. I have documentation of everything from my receipt to the pictures of the wrong items to the employee who was absolutely horrible. This is so frustrating. read more

I called to schedule an appointment to have the video doorbell installed that I had just purchased. I sat on hold for 38 min before someone finally picked up. I said hello about 5 times before I realized they had no idea I was on the line. I had the destict pleasure of listening to what movie they planned to see this weekend and other not very appropriate plans and language. After 3 min of me yelling hello and pick up the line I was hung up on. So over 40 minutes wasted. What happened to Best Buy? Before Covid 2019ish for the most they had good customer service and seemed to care about doing a good job. Now they act like you are bugging them if you need help. After about 20ish years of being a loyal customer I think I'm going to find a new place to get my electronics. read more

The best part was having it walked out to my car and hand delivered to my car window within 2 minutes of arrival. Leaving a review for Cathy. She was so rude and unfriendly and made me feel horrible. I went into the store to do some returns. She first lectured me about how I shouldn't purchase things in the first place if I'm going to end up returning them...she was frustrated that the items had been opened. She told me she couldn't process any returns if I didn't have a receipt but it was for an online order so I didn't need a physical receipt. She then realized she could do the return, took 15 mins to process it, and then she threw the receipts at me. She literally threw them at me. Not a bad place to shop if you're trying to purchase a lot of items for christmas. They have a really good deals on Apple watches. They also have beats by Dre headphones which is something that the kids really enjoy. They have a ton of options when it comes to DVDs and DVD players as well. Remodels are hard. But have you heard of anyone installing your refrigerator in the entirely wrong house and them admitting they had to go back and get it thats why they are 2 hours late. I'm not one to leave bad reviews but for my experience with the Tracy Geek Squad in Best Buy, I feel it is necessary to warn others. I first noticed about a week ago that my computer wasn't able to launch an application which I frequently used, it would simply crash. I tried researching a few videos on YouTube before going to Geek Squad and nothing seemed to solve my issue. After bringing the PC to Geek Squad, they charged me $100 for their "Diagnostics" which they inflate the details to sound fancy, so it seems like your $100 is going to solve your problem. Not to mention, the worker was exhibiting arrogant & "Know-it-all" behavior during my first confrontation which is obviously unprofessional and immature. I got a call four days later from a Geek Squad employee, noting that my computer was ready for pickup. Excited, I got over to Best Buy asap as I rely on the application of which was failing. Once I arrived the Employee notified me that they could not find the issue, which "may be my GPU". It was then I asked them, "Have you tried plugging in a different GPU?", to which he responded no. This specifically ticked me off because that seemed like the first thing I would do if I suspected a GPU failure. He told me they would continue to work on it and call me if they find the problem. Two days later I get a text that the PC is ready to pick up. Once I get there another employee notes that they (again) could not locate the issue, and that this time they suspected it to be my PCIE slot as my GPU was "sagging". I then asked "Have you tried the other two PCIE slots on my motherboard?" To which he responded no. Barely able to contain my anger as I filled out the paperwork and signed next to "I am satisfied with the service Geek Squad provided", I headed home and continued to attack the problem. Two days later I found the problem to be a corrupted prerequisite among my application's launch files. With my experience I've learned that Geek Squad Tracy is not specialized/educated enough to tackle Internal Problems on any tech. An average Joe could be hired here no problem.
