This review is based on my short experience at the store just now. While I will agree that it looks clean and in order, I left frustrated at the lack of customer service. I walked in with full intention of buying a tv. Now if only there were associates around to help. I went to the tv section, browsed, gave it a couple of minutes, went in what was labeled as an office, but no one was around. I assumed maybe people were busy, so I gave it more time. One more customer came by doing the same thing, then another. We all stood there waiting for someone to come by. I started to see associates walking by or through a section of doors. I tried to politely raise my hand for attention. They looked and walked away. I walked up further to find people chatting about not anything work related. One looked up at me as then went back to their conversation. I walked back to the tv section again, waiting even longer for someone to see that I was just waiting. Several people were in the back talking, seeing 3 people in the same area and did nothing. I'm just surprised that in an area and store that rely on customers, why wouldn't it be custom to have people in each section of the store available to help? Furthermore, why isn't it more monitored that no one is really doing much of anything productive? The customer services I received was fine but I didn't end up what I wanted. I wanted my speakers in my car replaced & I sat down with someone for over an hour and we got everything in order with what I was looking for. Then a pair of the speakers I had ordered was canceled so I came in person to replace it in the order. Fine & we set a geek squad appointment for 3 weeks later. Come the day of the appointment, I call to confirm. First off, the person I spoke to said I had a pair of high grade speakers and then a pair of low quality speakers. ( great just what I'm looking for out of buying something brand new lol ) whatever then he said actually I was only scheduled for the speakers installation and not the subwoofer that was in the transaction from the start. So all these weeks passing by and the subwoofer wasn't listed in the installation. I ask what my options are & I had to reschedule my entire appointment for another 2 weeks later. I visited Best Buy as I needed a new laptop. I did my homework well before and luckily I did because no one seemed too keen on assisting me with anything other than check out. The customer service rep was able to verify a few things, but seemed annoyed by my questions. I don't know if he was not knowledgeable or was he was just bored, but it seems like he wanted to be doing anything else. Come prepared with what you want and your price point and you should be fine. ***ALERT***THIS IS FOR ALL YOU BEST BUY SHOPPERS*** Whatever you do...if you buy electronics, do not buy their insurance. It's a total crock of shit. I purchased a 3-year insurance on a Fire Stick. I called customer service, and I was told they had replacement remotes at the store I was going to. The kid looks at the version of Fire Stick I had and he says we don't have that remote anymore. He goes and gets another Fire Stick off the shelf which I thought was going to replace what I had....NOPE!!!! I got a store credit for $19....a nd the new one which was 4K was around $25 dollars. Of course I'm literally almost broke. I owed money. I said wait a minute I thought when you buy insurance that covers your electronic item. The kid says I can't do it with something that's discontinued. So I had $4 dollars on one card. And $5 in my my banks savings account to keep that open. I spent that money and I was told I owe $3.76. I said you've got to be kidding. Best Buy just can't write off $3.76 and let me take this product. No sir we can't do that. I had to drive across town to get $5 from a friend who owed me money for gas. I brought it back and I gave the kid the $5..then he says....now you owe $3.30. ..he said I figured it wrong in the computer. A boss comes over and says why are you selling him the 4k one get the cheaper 1080 HD Fire Stick and he'll have enough money to pay for it. So he rings it up. I said so I paid insurance on the old Fire Stick does that transfer over to the new one. Ohhhhh nooooo you have to reapply for this one and pay extra. So I asked again....what was the need for insurance then?????? I was going through the store telling everyone whatever you do...don't take the insurance on any electronic products you purchase. Do not shop at this store or any Best Buy. I purchased a wifi booster to extend my wifi. I ca to the store #1067 in Trumbull, CT and spoke to Catherine, the manager, at 1:00 on 8-25-24. I needed to return the wifi booster because it did not work. I was told they would only give a store credit because it was outside the return policy, that I was not aware of and because I opened the product. I asked for a credit to my credit card but even cash. The refused! I explained I returned it when I did because the area had experienced two major unprecedented storms which k picked out the power for a week and the internet intermittently. I needed to keep it to try and see if it worked after the wifi was restored normally and the weather leveled out. This was a natural disaster that uprooted massive trees and totally wiped out power for over a week. This is my experience from the Trumbull Best Buy. I went in because I wanted to talk to the manager because they asked me if I wanted a store card and I told them no do not type in my information. He started to run my information. I said please set off the computer. He said don't worry about it. There's a button at the end that you could press and it'll tell you you could accept or deny the card I told him yo take it off the computer. He said OK x it off. As I've been trying to work on my credit score it got pretty good to go home to find out. It went down 81 points. They ran my information when I told the person four or five times to get my information off of the computer as he still ran it. I don't believe these people. I also asked for the manager when I walked in and they told me that they were very busy right now and they could not help me, but could I told them what happened and referred me back to the front desk to the person who actually ran my credit that day... Didn't want to be confrontational but it was the man, and I said you remember me from the other day and he said oh no, that was not me and denied doing it. and I was like oh I'm sure it wasn't you buddy as she printed out all the information to call corporate and give me a card which came back with who sold me something. I returned on 10 September, with the person's name on the receipt, which had the same name that was on his tag on his shirt. I used to love this place not what they used to be. And just letting everyone know that insurance is a scam. Don't buy it because I bought it for all of my video game systems prior in life maybe my first five and then for my last maybe three I have not bought it and I have never had a video game system not work so the first five times I bought insurance was a total waste. I know people want to protect yourself when buying insurance, but it should be anything bought over $1000 you get free insurance for two years but then they' just give you the bull line. Oh well you could just send it back to the factory it comes with factory insurance for no cost. If anything ever does happen you don't have to purchase the insurance but if you do, you could just bring it right back to the store and walk out the front door with a new one, but like I said nothing ever broke so never got to see if they honor that or not well hope this helps someone they used to say that anything could happen to a laptop or whatever and they would replace it spill a cup of juice on it. I have been a Best Buy customer for almost 20 years. The Trumbull store and its personnel were a dream to work with. Now, customers can't even talk to anyone at the store...everything is thrown out to 'agents' who are God knows where, who don't always know what they're doing. I've spent an hour of my lifespan trying to reach someone who can actually help me, and got nowhere. The 'real person' chat is the same. Strong recommendation - don't buy a protection plan from Best Buy/Geek Squad for your electronic devices. I purchased a protection plan for an iPad that I purchased at the Best Buy/Geek Squad store in Trumbull in 2023. I paid for renewal of the plan in 2024 & in 2025. The IPad stopped functioning properly recently and I contacted Best Buy/Geek Squad for repairs. I was told that, notwithstanding my payment for renewal of the plan in May, 2025, the portion of the plan that covered the iPad expired after two years, but that I should take the iPad to Apple for repairs and it would honor the plan. Apple declined to honor the plan, so I had to purchase a new IPad from Apple. No one at Best Buy ever communicated to me or sent me documentation indicating that the protection would expire after two years, even if I continued paying for it. As far as I could determine, no documentation relating to the plan makes that clear, and in any case, definitely not obvious. To make matters worse, when I purchased the plan, the salesperson convinced me to decline Apple's protection plan since I was getting the Best Buy plan. Best Buy refused to do anything to accommodate me other than give me a partial refund when I canceled the protection plan. Terrible customer service! read more

File this one under "O" for Oh, brother. I went in to buy a Fitbit (gotta get moving) and a screen protector. I was helped almost immediately, and he even went to the back to find a model in black. The protector was another matter - one couldn't be found in the locked cabinet or on the shelves. He asked another sales person, and she assured us they weren't in stock. I was impressed with her ability to recall every item in their inventory without checking. I went up front to buy the Fitbit, brought it to my car and returned to double back to the shelf to check for the protector. A man at the help desk assured me that if the sales people said it wasn't in stock, it wasn't. He said the online inventory didn't keep up with the actual stock, and the sales personnel knew best. You cannot step into the store without someone attacking you, asking what you're there for. I went to this location to purchase an Apple Macbook Air. As the website states, they guarantee price matching. I proceeded to the Apple section and spoke to Marco. When speaking to Marco I explained that Apple was having a special online for students that gave you a free pair of airpods with any purchase of a Macbook laptop. After showing him the website with the special, he advised me that it shouldn't be a problem. Marco proceeded to go back and speak to his manager, Brian. After speaking to Brian, Marco advised that he refuses to price match the special. After walking out of the store, I contacted the Norwalk Bestbuy who advised they would price match it and then allow me to pick it up in the store in Trumbull. I proceeded to purchase the items and then go back in the store after receiving the e-mail that the items were ready to be picked up. While speaking to the female at the customer service counter, she advised a lot of people have a problem with Brian as he lacks customer service skills. For an employee to say that, it tells you all you need to know. A store is being ran by a manager who has little customer service skills. Overall, as long as you don't have to deal with the manager, I assume you should be fine. But don't advertise that you guarantee a price match and then refuse to do it especially when other Best Buys in the state are doing it. read more

Buyer Beware! Five months ago I was sold a device and a 2 year protection plan. The device needed repair and BestBuy referred me to manufacturer. Manufacturer offered a refurbished replacement plus a payment. They advised me to use my protection plan which offered repair or replacement at no extra cost. The store offered a replacement if I purchased a new plan to which I agreed. I made them aware that the serial number on box did not match device. I never noticed it until the manufacturer pointed it out to me. I asked that they make sure the replaced device match serial on box.. The manager was called and rescinded the offer. she told me to take it up with corporate. I have been on the phone with them for hours over the last 4 days. They transfer me to different departments and promise to call or email me. i have not heard from them. Best Buy In Trumbull CT has scammed me out of $638.08. The manager identified herself as Anna. Her demeanor is very confrontational and severely lacks courtesy and customer service skills. I will be reporting them to Better Business Bureau, Consumer Affairs, Attorney Generals fraud division as well as The Federal Trade Commission. if I get no results, I'll see them in Small Claims Court. read more

Initially, I was going to rate the Geek Squad a -5 because they were not helpful at all but my rating had changed simply because of the customer service of John. He made sure I was taken cared off even though my computer was not fixed as it should. Here is my story: I took in my laptop to get fixed, the First Lady at the geek squad counter said there was nothing she could do. I had to take it to the manufacture. I called the manufacturer and they said no, they could not do anything and I should take it back to Geek Squad. I took a deep breath and brought it back, the guy who took care of me said yes they could fix it. So I left the laptop with him and they proceeded to fix it. Two weeks later I go to retrieve my fixed laptop and low and behold it is not fixed. I was not happy!!! But John proceeded to make sure I was taken cared of. He did everything possible to ensure I was all set and as a result I now have a new laptop. His customer service skills were outstanding. He took a negative and made it positive. Got into an argument with the manager about my use of my wife's TotalTech membership for a TV purchase. He was very dismissive and when I asked if we could call Customer Service the response was I had to do it myself. He then said "do what you want ... have a nice day". I did then respond with something I should not have said but his reaction was over the top. He called me a piece of shit and then followed me into the parking lot in a threatening manner. I am currently driving a used rental car while my BMW X5 is on order. The manager then proceeded to call me a lower in front of the other customers and made fun of my car. It would have been humiliating if I did not feel some degree of pity for this bully (and frankly take my share of the issue). However to react this way in front of other customers in very unprofessional. I will no longer do business with Best Buy while they employ such people. Worst service I have ever experienced at a Best Buy. I purchased a new phone for order pickup and added a trade in within the same transaction. Received an email stating the order was ready for pickup and drove almost an hour to pick the phone up. Got to the store, had to wait awhile for anyone to even show up to the order pickup station, then was told I would need to wait an additional four hours to schedule an appointment with the one cell phone person they had working there (on a Saturday, probably the one day of the week they should have more than one person working). Cancelled the order on the spot. Does not make sense that an order is "ready for pickup" if you're not actually able to pick up the order and walk out of the store at the same time. On a high note, I was able to complete the same transaction one hour later at the Orange Best Buy. That location has experienced employees and is obviously managed much better than the Trumbull location. read more

I called their number and apparently I got someone in India. I believe which is wrong. You shouldn't outsource your phone calls to other countries when we're trying to support our country especially since I've been looking for a job for about two months now and nobody wants to hire a 60 year old but anyways I called, I needed a cord for my old laptop for charging it. The guy on the phone said yes we have that cord here and I asked what's the cheapest he said $20 I said definitely you have a $20 charger for my computer in that store even gave him the model number of my computer got there nope!!!!they have a $59 charger!! Went all the way down there just for that charger and they did not have it. There's nobody in the store anymore. The service is not good. I drove 1 hour to go to Trumbull and pick up an open box TV. There was nothing indicating that it was missing items online. I get there and immediately look at the tag. The tag says ... THERE IS NOTHING MISSING. I go home, open it up, and I see that there's no remote, stand, or manual. Confused, I call them and they basically tell me there's nothing they can do despite the false tagging. What makes this worse? It went out again and came back with 2 more issues that it didn't have to begin with, so they wanted to sent it out again but I said no. When I brought it home the laptop was fine. REALLY!!!!!! I've bought six laptops from this Best Buy and I had to replace three of them because they were not working properly. I also bought Geek Squad protection and my experience has been awful. It's my most recent issue that's prompted me to warn others. The screen on my laptop broke and I took it in to get it fixed on 6/13/19. Two weeks later I pick it up and am told it's all better. When I take it home, the laptop does not turn on. I'm amazed that they didn't check themselves to see if it worked, but I guess that's too much to ask. I took it back and of course they had to ship it off again for repairs. It's now 7/10 and still no laptop, meaning it's been nearly a month now and my laptop has still not been fixed. In their defense, they've fixed some of my issues and the people behind the counter are usually very nice, but I've spent numerous hours of my life waiting on hold and in line to get stuff repaired and there has to be a better way. I'm going to cancel my Total Tech Support Membership and Protection Plans I bought, and buy laptops elsewhere in the future because I can't stand the frustration of working with them anymore. read more

Really disappointed in the customer service (or lack there of) that Best Buy offers. I received a new chrome book for my birthday. My mom purchased my gift a month before she gave it to me. Unfortunately, after giving me the gift we realized that google chrome isn't compatible with my POS system and that it only works with windows which was the whole reason why I was getting a new laptop for work. Long story short i went to Best Buy... found a new laptop that is compatible with my POS & also an upgrade of over $300. In addition, I was buying a protector case & 2 Microsoft packages. When I went to the customer service counter to exchange - they told me I was past my 15 day exchange date (again this was a bday gift and the person bought it the month before) the computer was never even open from The package. I wasn't looking to return and have money back I simply wanted to exchange and pay more money for a nicer computer. They said there's nothing can be done and sent me away. When you call the phone # it's nearly impossible to speak to anyone. I've never heard of such a thing. Disappointed in their customer service for their customers. I needed a battery for my Iphone, I went on line and made an appt for the Trumball store, before I left my house for the hour long trip, I called the store to confirm that I could get the phone battery, the price and that it could be completed that day. I went to the store to the Geek squad, told the young lady what I needed, she said she needed to check the phone first, she checked the phone and then said I do need the battery, only problem is there are none in the store, their stock is minimal, and she had no idea when they would get it in.I spoke to a manager, showed her the number of the store I called before I left home, again she said their stock is very limited. I'm a rideshare driver. We live and die dependent on 2 things: our cars and our smartphones. My Samsung Galaxy 8+ phone died a miserable death some months ago, So I bought a Google Pixel 3a... relatively simple to use. 2 weeks ago it disappeared. I read a bunch of smart phone reviews and decided to get the Apple I-Phone 8+. I figured that it would be very similar to the Samsung. Wrong! After trying to hear the audio for the GPS and not being able to increase the volume I drove to the Hawley Lane Best Buy. I told the employee at the front door that I would only be a minute, that I needed to ask a question about increasing the volume of Google Maps and any other GPS app. The son of a Bi $%^would not let me enter the store! I'm 67 years old and I have spent thousands of dollars at that Best Buy. Standing up and walking is very painful... I have bone on bone arthritis ,,, no more cartilage in either knee. And the outdoor temperature was 95 degrees. Rather than getting myself arrested I got in my car and drove to Westport, to the Barnes and Noble there. My hope and expectations were that they would have an I-Phone for Dummies book. They did not, they had something better: The I-Phone for Seniors! The book was $29 plus tax. At that point I had only made $31. I scanned the book and bought it. But I could have saved the cost of the book if the Best Buy employee had simply let me speak to an Apple salesperson. My conclusion is that the staff member who would not let me enter is an idiot. Came to this location to return a broken air fryer I had ordered online for my husband for Christmas. Was very disappointed the item came broken. Brought it in and waited in return line for less than 5 minutes. Returned with receipt and had no problem, the employee barley said 2 words to me but I wasn't there to make friends. On the other hand the atmosphere was very loud and chaotic. When you walk in the doors your ears are slammed with booming rap music and bass, you can hardly hear yourself speak. Scheduling two TVs to be mounted was very easy. The service technician was friendly an within the four hour arrival window I was given. The pricing was fair for the work that had to be done. The tech realized that he could not hide the wires in the wall without a tool he was missing. Best Buy is the Best! Customer Service: In store- employees asked if I needed help right away, and went the extra mile to help and answer any questions I had. Chat on line help was knowledgeable and patient. They did everything to try to please without hesitation, from the management down to the sales reps. I like being able to go into a store, find helpful employees, put my hands on the merchandise and buy from a place like that rather than an online store. I would always go to Best Buy first and try to support them. I like dealing with helpful people face-to-face. Their customer service is the best! read more

Really disappointed with Bestbuys return policy... I bought Arlo cameras online and they were very expensive. After 20-30 days I realized they only record 10 second intervals, which is mostly leaves blowing around on a tree. BestBuy only allows 15 days to return the items so now I am stuck with 400.00 cameras that are worthless... They wont even allow me to exchange for store credit. read more

Horrible experience. The manager is a lier and lied to me numerous times throughout my visit. Wasted my time. I had to buy and item, return it, and rebuy it the next day because the manager was lying to me. Your managers need to be retrained and understand customer service. It was very evident that the manager was trying to upcharge me when I called out the manager instead of backing down he lost a sale. I showed the first person I interacted with about price matching a computer that was on sale with Amazon and he said yes they could do it. Then at check out I told the associate that i would like to add on the 3 year apple care and he said yes I can do that. So I leave and get home and realize that I was not given apple care rather I was charged for Best Buy tech. So I got in my car and went back to make a simple exchange, keep the computer just switch blue tech for apple care. However, the manager stated he couldn't do that and it was going to cost me an additional $50 even though apple care and blue tech were the same price. I asked why I was being charged an adittional amount and he stated that I was getting an extra discount on the computer bc I added blue tech which was a lie bc I was getting the computer for $799 since that was the price Amazon was selling it for and it was already agreed upon that I was getting the computer for $799 prior to even asking for apple care. Really disappointed that the manager lied to me. Since he was lying to me I decided to return the computer all together since he was trying to upcharge me and he kept lying to me all together. He lied to me hoping I would be dumb and just keep the blu tech. Lied to me about the price of apple car for the MacBook Air, it's $200 and he tried lying to me telling me it was $250 and that it only covers 2 years when it is 3 years. Then tried lying to me saying that I shouldn't have been able to get the computer price matched since it was an Amazon deal which is a lie bc the first associate gave it to me and the online chat at Best Buy gave it to me. I had to waste more time by having to rebuy the computer online where a Best Buy representative price matched the item to Amazon and waste even more time by going back to Best Buy to pick up the item. Would never recommend this store the manager is slimy and sleezy and is clearing trying to take advantage of customers. Wish I grabbed the managers name because his attitude was horrible and the fact he lied numerous times demonstrates his poor customer service, I expected better and will not be shopping at this location in the future!! read more

This place is a joke. I purchased a TV on a Friday that had to be delivered to my house, because it was too big to fit in my car. Despite the fact that I live five minutes away from the store, they claimed they had to ship the TV to their facility in New Jersey, and then ship it to my house from NJ, which would take about a week. This was incredibly annoying, but I understand that it is Best Buy's (stupid) corporate policy, and not this particular store's. However, I received a call from the store manager that Sunday (two days later) saying that one of their genius sales staff "accidentally" SOLD the TV I had purchased, while it was in the back waiting to be shipped to NJ. I had already paid for this TV in full, mind you. He offered me a swap of a same-priced, same-sized TV from a lesser brand as an attempt to make up for it, which I declined. He refunded my money, but didn't seem to display much remorse at such an extreme goof up (it was probably him who "accidentally" sold it). Amazon, Target, etc. are much better options for anything you could possibly buy at Best Buy - and this particular store is the worst. read more

Best Buy's Geek Squad = a bunch of uncertified high-school kids. If you want high-school kids fixing your PC instead of a professional and want to pay more than double what it should cost, then go to Geek Squad. Otherwise, I say find an experienced free lance tech to do it. read more

Has to be one of the craziest days of the year, but get this: the lead manager is standing right at the front door, and every time a customer expresses thanks for a team member's work, he radios it out to the entire staff..."___, you just received another compliment! Incredible. Keep up the amazing teamwork everybody." Such positive energy, I can feel it all through the store, and the service is beyond wonderful. Amazon is great, but *this* is why we still need retail. read more
