I hands down recommend Abbott Appliance. I have a GE stacked washer dryer unit. The spin cycle on the washer stopped working. They walked through the issue and the possible fixes with me in the phone. They suggested that I consider getting a new unit rather than try to get this one fixed as the possible fix would cost at least half of the cost of a new unit. Washer wouldn't complete our laundry. Tried to solve the problem myself with help of Google and YouTube. But they couldn't help this DIY'er. Yelp did lead me to ABBOTT, and after reading some reviews and visiting the website, I gave them a call. The phone conversation was very professional and friendly. Explaining what cost to expect, and making sure all CDC guidelines were followed. The appointment was made for the next day. On the day of the appointment the technician arrived at the scheduled time, and gave it a try. Unfortunately the problem could not be solved or fixed, and repair would cost a good amount, and more than 50% of the price of a new one. My fridge had a leak so I called Abbott's up and they had next day appointments available. There diagnostic fee was $70 which is lower than other places. The technician came out, assessed the problem and was able to resolve within a half hour or so. Parts and labor came out to be around $50. I'm no fridge expert (or I would have fixed myself) but it seemed to be a tad high. I am going to give benefit of the doubt because of speedy and high quality service provided. I called and spoke to Wayne when my 18 year old Kenmore dryer starting beeping and blinking and wouldn't stop. I called Abbot because of their 5 star reviews on Yelp and I am so happy I did. He knew exactly what model I was describing and knew that IF the computer panel was available, and he was doubtful that it could be found and said ieven if it could it would be $350 plus... not worth on such an old front loader machine that lived thre 3 kids, too many sports to name, who are now all in college. So I am getting a a new dryer and thanks to Wayne, I'm not out the minimum $125 service fee Sears wanted to charge me for an old dryer that isn't even fixable. I have a Kenmore drier that can qualify as an antique as it's about 20-25 years old. The dryer had an issue of the gas not igniting. I also have a 15 year old Frigidaire side by side where the ice dispenser would not switch to crushed ice. I called Abbott Appliance Repair and Bruce Abbott set up an appointment for me the next morning at my convenience. I called him based on a number or great online reviews. I checked his website and noted that he has a initial visit/diagnostic charge that is at least half or more LESS than almost every other appliance repair service. And even though he does not apply that fee to the cost of any repair, he still winds up a good deal less expensive than his competitors. On the day of my scheduled service, I got a courtesy call 15 minutes before his arrival and he arrived at the previously agreed time. His is truly a family business as he arrived with his son as his assistant. Bruce and his son are both very friendly and accommodating. He began with my refrigerator and had the problem diagnosed and fixed in about 10 minutes, no parts were needed for the fix. He next went to the drier. He had to disassemble the entire front of the unit, and he quickly determined that the ignitor was broken. Though it was a very old part, he happened to have one with him. Unfortunately the part is very fragile and it broke during installation. He then tried to install a newer version of the part he had with him, but the mount was different and it didn't work. He said he might have another part at his office and would let me know, if not he would order one. He then put the drier back together and told me there was no charge until he fixed the issue. I got a call about an hour later saying he had the part in stock. He was back in less than 30 minutes, took the drier apart again, replaced the part, put it all back together and it was working like new. Though he made two trips, used three parts and took the drier apart and put it back together twice, I was charged for the one part and the one visit and the total cost was very fair and reasonable. But the story doesn't end there. I ran the drier, and when I opened it to remove the clothes, I noticed a large nylon ring in with the clothes. Obviously a part that was not properly replaced. I called Bruce and he was back within 30 minutes, took the drier apart again, replaced the part that came loose, put everything back together left things working perfectly and (rightfully) added no charge. He left the house just as he found it, no mess to clean up. Bottom line, Bruce Abbott is honest and very competent. His service is quick, friendly, and very fairly priced. I will be calling him again should I need any further appliance work. read more

I called to make a service appointment for a couple issues with my refrigerator. He asked me to send him some photos, which I did. He then explained the issue, and how I could easily make the repairs my self. He even sent me the part numbers to order. I am not a handy person, but he was spot on. I made the repairs in a few minutes time. He easily could have come out made the repairs and charged me and I would never have questioned it. It is an older model and difficult to find someone with experience to repair it. Bruce rose to the challenge and was professional and persistent! He could have given up and "walked away" without solving the problem. But, he was patient and determined to get my machine working again. He worked on it, figured out the problem and was able to repair the machine. Now, thanks to Bruce, it is working like brand new! He is very knowledgeable, friendly, professional, experienced and honest. The charge for the work that he did was very fair and extremely reasonable! Spoke to Bruce about a repair on my washing machine. He explained that the loud noise during spin cycle was very likely a main bearing. He recommended that cost to repair would be almost as much as cost of a new washer. He suggested we buy a new one instead of repairing our existing washer. Great Service and very HONEST. I had a regfrigerator problem a couple of years ago which had me sweating for an entire 24 hours. Having been ripped off in the past on a washer/dryer repair, I was prepared to open my wallet at the mercy of the technician. Called Abbott in the moring and Bruce arrived within hours and fixed the issue promply. He prorated his rate based on the time spent (instead of some "Mininum" house call charge), and was totally HONEST and REASONABLE. Today, the same fridge (different issue) acted up. I called Bruce to come in - he walked me through the troubleshooting over the phone and helped resolve the issue. Most other guys would have required the service call before giving anything away.
