I was given an appointment by Apple to come and have the battery to my iPhone be replaced. I drove all the way to Best Buy for my 1:40pm reservation and I was greeted by a team member of the Greek Squad. He said he had to take my phone to the back to check if he had the battery which was unscrupulous because how do I know if what he was doing with my phone in the back out of sight. Then he comes back less than a minute later stating they don't have my battery and my best bet is try another Best Buy or go to the Apple Store. I asked him why make a reservation to fix my phone if you don't have the part. He basically said there is no way for the appointment system to check the inventory... my response is that's a waste of time. So now I have to call around and see which store has my battery. Let me tell you about my "coverage" with Best Buy's Geek Squad warranty. I bought a washer and dryer thinking I'd have peace of mind. What I actually got was the most ridiculous experience I've ever had with customer service. When my washer broke, Best Buy sent a technician. He was in my home for less time than it takes to tie a shoelace. No tools, no inspection, no effort. Just two minutes of looking around before declaring: "Bug infestation! Denied." Excuse me? My home is treated monthly by a licensed pest control company. I have documentation proving it's bug-free. But apparently, Best Buy doesn't care about facts just excuses. It honestly felt like the warranty was designed not to cover repairs, but to cover Best Buy's bases. They'll take your money, then come up with any story imaginable to deny your claim. It could've been "too much dust," "the moon was full," or "the washer offended the technician." Doesn't matter they'll make something up. The worst part? They never even touched the washer. That means the denial had nothing to do with the machine and everything to do with not wanting to honor the warranty I paid for. Do yourself a favor: buy the manufacturer's warranty instead. At least then you're dealing with a company that actually stands behind its product. Best Buy's warranty is basically a very expensive piece of paper with no real value. read more

I am so frustrated that I need to post this to WARN all potential Best Buy/Pacific Sales Geek Squad customers. My Samsung refrigerator has not been working since March 4, 2025. My so called extended warranty with the Geek Squad is a scam. Still not repaired. This last month has been a nightmare with incompetent repairman (4 Visits) and their service people pointing fingers at others. I was not advised that Samsung does not service in Orange County so they contract out. Apparently Samsung compressors on their refrigerators go out often as my fridge is 4 years old!!!!! Now I have to pay to have Samsung come out!! So here the nightmare continues. I just bought a microwave from Pacific Sales and paid for the installation. They deliver a damaged microwave. They approve an exchange for today. So as I am waiting for the delivery I get a call and they tell me it is an exchange only. What the HELL!! I paid for installation!!!! So today no exchange and believe it or not I HAVE TO CALL TOMORROW. ONCE I HAVE THESE ISSUES RESOLVED I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN YOUR STORE AGAIN FOR APPLIANCES. The salespeople were great as I proceeded to purchase a new iPad, keypad, glass cover, and the insurance. When they totaled the bill it came to $1750.00 so the "Fraud" light comes on which is disgraceful and time consuming. I called my Visa after they send me a message. I have a $17500.00 limit on my Visa Card. I then proceeded to discuss the purchase and then the Fidelity man finally said it was approved but the Best Buy Machine could not get the approval on their end. I finally wrote a check and that was rejected and I have $54K in that account. I walked out. I have bought my TV, computer, and my last iPad from them but not anymore. The store was almost empty and now I know why. Large, clean, and well lit. Plenty of no-hassle, free parking. The selection of products on hand is meager. A minority of the people who work here actually know something about electronics, and some are actually nice. Most are neither. The store manager? I've had worse experiences with people managing retails stores. Wait a minute. No I haven't. I have gone here a few times when I'm in a bit of bind, needing some sort of electronic gear in a hurry. Beyond that, the meager selection and unknowledgeable staff make me keep this store at "arm's length." I have met some VERY nice people working here, but these folks are generally 1 in 10 employees. I think people here are grumpy because of its odd location. Ever since the economic crash of 2008, this whole Savi Ranch complex has suffered mightily. Before that, there were car dealerships, busy customers, lots of activity all over this Rancho. 2008 decimated this shopping area. It's such a shame, really. I blame the usual suspects, those responsible for the crash, folks like Rep. Frank, for one. Before 2008, this place rocked. After 2008, it whimpered, limply. So, by all means, if you need your electronics fix fast, give these folks a try. You'll have nice, wide aisles to browse, plenty of lighting to see products, excellent and abundant parking, and a very safe place to shop in, both in the store, and generally, in the area. read more

BEWARE! I got bamboozled yesterday by an associate who sold me a Plus membership by telling me that it was 'free' that day. I thought wow, this must be a special promotion so heck yeah, I'll take advantage! Only later did I see that I was charged $49.99 on my receipt for the Plus membership. I did get the member price on my microwave, which was about $50 off so what I think he meant was that I was getting $50 off the microwave and the membership was $49.99 (+tax) so I was getting it for 'free'. That's NOT the same thing. That is misrepresentation and he was dishonest in how he presented it. When I called to try to get the $49.99 taken off, they replied that they can't because the membership had already been used. My only recourse is to haul the microwave back into the store and get a refund for the whole thing and start over. :-( Oh, and yes, the associates DO get incentives for the memberships that they sell. Why can't we give a 0 rating?? I ordered a $3,200 tv from Best Buy and specifically asked the BB associate which tv wall mount I should order. He told me specifically which one to buy, and I even took a picture of him showing me which one to order. I ordered the mount and the tv on 8/25/25 but the earliest installation date was today, 9/20/25. Well, when the installers showed up, they looked at the mount and said "that one won't work". I told them the BB associate specifically told me to purchase that one and they said "well, he shouldn't have. He didn't know what he was talking about." The installers told me which mount I should buy and said I should return the other one and reschedule installation. I then went to BB in Yorba Linda where they told me that the return policy was two weeks and because it was outside that window, I needed to contact the retailer directly. I said "What retailer? I bought everything from Best Buy, and it's all on one invoice." I also asked how I was supposed to return it within two weeks, when they couldn't install the tv for almost a month, and I just found out today when the installers showed up. The Store Manager came out and just explained "it's in the Terms & Conditions" and there was nothing else he could do. I protested again that a) I bought the specific wall mount the BB associate told me to buy, b) BB's installers said the associate should never have recommended that one, c) I purchased everything from BB and not separately from some other vendor, and d) I couldn't return the mount within two weeks when they couldn't even show up for almost four. I was told again that there was nothing they could do and I would just have to handle it separately with the retailer (who I'm not even sure how to contact). If Best Buy wants to know why they've had financial problems, here's a clear example. I'm going to be purchasing three more tv's and I can guarantee that none of them will be purchased from Best Buy. As an update, I called the retailer on 9/21 and their response was "We can't take it back. Best Buy sold it to you and they need to handle it." I then called Best Buy customer service and talked with a supervisor. He did some checking and came back with the same answer they gave me before, that, although he recognized that I bought the exact mount BB recommended (which was wrong), he couldn't do anything and that I'm basically stuck with the wrong ($225) wall mount. As I stated, my other tv's will not be purchased from Best Buy (nor anything else I purchase). Others need to be aware of this issue and policy and make their choice accordingly! read more

I was very disappointed when I went in Best Buy Savi Ranch location. I walked in to trade in my original PlayStation 5 console with optical drive, and DualSense controller. Also known as PS5. I was routed to the checkout for service at 730pm cause the computer system by the entrance was not loading. I went and spoke to the rep about my PS5 and she gave me an offer of the slim PS5 for 100$. I declined that offer because I knew that I didn't have the slim model. I left and went to game stop. They gave me 300$ for my console trade in and I bought a PlayStation 5 pro and I bought the disc drive add on. Because the rep at Best Buy had no idea what I had to trade with it me made me feel that trust is broken that they have no idea on what they are doing. Well, after all the positive reviews I've been posting, I guess it was bound to happen that a retailer would have to act up. Yesterday, it was Best Buy Savi Ranch, Yorba Linda. So, we're in a pandemic and my 93 year old grandmother received a Facebook portal device as a gift to "keep in contact with our family". Only problem, none of us, including my grandmother, have Facebook or are willing to get Facebook. I volunteer to return it. Easy, I think. It's a gift. I'll just exchange it, for whatever Best Buy says its value is, for a tablet from Best Buy. See how it's a win -win for them and a loss for me? It was bought, and now I'm willing to pay even more to get what she can use. Well, Best Buy couldn't see that. After telling me they'd issue a credit for the gift minus the taxes, and after they broke down the shipping box it came in and tossed it in the corner, they suddenly have a change of heart. They say since it was opened and I don't have a receipt for it, they won't return it, and the manager is too busy to talk to me after I ask 3 times to speak to a manager. Of course, My teenager is getting tired and embarrassed of her mother insisting to the customer service agent that it's a gift, and I don't have a receipt or gift receipt for it, and most importantly, the $180 device (yes, I know, it's a drop in the bucket to Best Buy who sells tons of tvs at 10x's this cost) is just too expensive of a device to just have laying around like a paperweight. Well, after a few minutes, still no manager, and I'm now losing patience with them and my teenager, I leave. Of course, those of you who know me, I was flaming mad all night, decided I'll never buy anything else from them again (Of course, I hope you don't either), looked up the gift return policy online today. Was ready to write the president of the freaking company! You know what the gift return policy says on their website? It says it could've been returned without a receipt and regardless of it being opened. Hmmm. Now, I'm really done with Best Buy Savi Ranch. Was the problem my skin color, my t- shirt and yoga pants, my natural hair style/ texture, the fact I don't walk around with my engineering and MBA degrees to show I could afford to buy that whole dang store and that I didn't steal it? I was there on 10/27 to return a printer cable. $9.95+tax. Still new in the box. Return rep says been more than 14 days so no refund. It was 18 days since purchase. I said can you just give me store credit. He said no. He told me the only way to get a refund was to either sign up for a best buy membership which is $50 per year or apply for a best buy credit card which he would have to run my credit. Completely idiotic. Going to charge me $50 or run my credit for $9.95+tax. 14 days for a cable that is not changing any time soon. Unbelievable. Then he proceed to start pulling at the tab on the top of the box. The box then opens and he accuses me of regluing the box together. At that point it I just left the store and left my receipt and printer cable there before it escalated. I've spent thousands of dollars over the past 18 months there and he's going accuse me of gluing back a box on a $9.95 cable. Unbelievable. I'll never shop best buy again. I ordered a refrigerator on 11/9/2023. And the initial delivery was scheduled on 11/21. Then it was rescheduled to 11/25 due to the manufacturer's delay. Then again rescheduled to 12/14 for the same reason. Now I got a message about delay again to 3/5/2024. I called the BestBuy customer service for each delayed schedule and heard the same reason and confirmed the new delivery dates. Now on the occasion of the 4th delay, I have to criticize several points about my order experience at BestBuy: 1. I chose BestBuy to purchase this item among many other stores, including Home Depot, Costco, Lowe's, etc., when all of them offered same price at that time, because BestBuy's delivery date was the earliest, as I sold my current refrigerator and needed a new one ASAP. 2. I could understand there could be a manufacturer's delay, but it should be only very exceptional, and major electronic stores like BestBuy should schedule the delivery of the products as accurate as possible. However, my experience of this order just demonstrates how much BestBuy cares more about the manufacturer than customer. How could I understand when the delivery schedule changed right next day after confirmed the date, and it happened several times in a raw. How BestBuy's order system works to schedule the delivery without considering the product's availability. It's a big curiosity. 3. We can live without television, but hard to live without refrigerator. Where could we store our frozen food after sold old refrigerator based on the original delivery date of the new one, but when it's delivered 4 months later? It's not just as simple as "reschedule or cancel" when it's delayed. 4. The delivery schedule is a covenant with customer, who chose BestBuy among others, and sacrificed their chances to choose a different store who is more sincere to their promises to the customers. So BestBuy had to double confirm the product's availability before schedule the delivery to the customer. The early delivery date without any promise couldn't be a business strategy to attract customers. Otherwise it'll be a just scam. read more
