I asked for coffin nails, ombré with a little bit of glitter and showed inspo pics. I paid $70 plus a $20 tip because technician did do the work. What do you think? Where can I get this fixed? The technician said they have been open for over 20 years. Any advice? I feel a little embarrassed about them/this to be honest. Tech said her daughter is good at designs but again I showed what I wanted before we did anything. I wish she could have had me wait for someone who can blend or come another day. I was trying to lift my feet the right way to get my toes done while trying to hold the nail blacklight machine/ pillow on my lap with one hand while she was working on my other hand. I don't like to give bad reviews but when one is warranted I will. First off I will say that I have given this salon several chances to impress me and they never do. There is one thing that is a common here and that is how FAST they want to be. It seems like all they care about is how quickly they can turn over a customer. On Friday 4/5/24 I went for a gel manicure and gel pedicure. I was seated right away and a lovely lady named Nina started on my pedicure. Shortly after another woman came to me and started on my manicure. She was talking to Nina very loudly in her native language and it was very rude. I could barely hear my thoughts! She began to drill on my nails very quickly and it burned my nail beds. I told her ouch! And she disregarded me. She went on to cut my cuticles and was going so fast my biggest fear was realized! She literally took a chunk of my flesh off my finger!! I gasped it hurt so bad! She didn't even apologize!!! The lady sitting next to me was a complete stranger and she was very concerned and asked if I was alright. My finger was bleeding for a very long time! Thankfully Nina apologized on that lady's behalf and she held pressure on my finger for about 10min! It was a disaster! Needless to say I will NOT be returning ever again and I want to say Thank you to Nina for her kindness. Please do yourself a favor and go someplace else! This is the closest nail salon to me (a 5 minute walk) so it's the one I tried first when I moved to the desert (we New Yorkers at heart love our walkability). What keeps me coming back are great pedicures in a clean setting and friendly, professional staff. They have an excellent color selection and lots of stations with plenty of staff available. I've never made an appointment but have never had to wait at all: even when my husband and I have gone toether we've been able to get pedicures next to each other (somehow, because despite our luck, this place is always busy). This is a big pro for me as I've had too many experiences elsewhere where I've waited 20-45+ minutes even with an appointment. Best City Nails is on point. Recently (since my last visit) they installed all new massage chairs, a swanky improvement, and added even more colors! I have no reason to go further for my mani/pedi fixes. read more

Wow - amazing! I was in town visiting my grandparents and needed to get my nails redone. I had just gotten them done at a local place to me Friday, and got them redone on Saturday. My nails were so bad, the acrylic was way to thick, the previous tech destroyed my cuticles, etc. (see my profile for review) and honestly my skin was bubbling from the overlaid acrylic. My grandma has been coming here for years and recommend Wendy to me so I called and made an appointment. We both walked in and Wendy wasn't there but one of the other ladies was available to help, I let her know what was going on (you could obviously see it as well), and she was able to take care of it. I don't recall her name but she was extremely gentle, soaked then drilled the acrylic off on repeat until it was good. She even said to me that she didn't want to ruin my natural nail and just was all around awesome. I would recommend coming here if you're in the area! read more

Terrible Service the lady who did my pedicure cut my cuticle so deep that I have an infection on my big toe now I told her right away you cut my toe she said no it's just you have very thick cuticle it's swollen, red and inflamed and now I can't put on my shoe and I have to go to the doctor. Very disappointed with the service. The lady who did my manicure was in a rush left me for 10 minutes supposedly had to go to the bathroom. I don't know where she went and finally came back had to ask her to put the oil on the cuticles and re-file my nails, it's expensive and you do not get quality or value here I will never come back ! read more

I was visiting Palm Desert for the weekend and was in desperate need of a fill. Delaine at Best City Nails was super helpful. So accommodating and friendly. Her staff was friendly with other customers as they came in. She was very interactive and talkative which made the experience that much better. I decided while I was there to have my toes done with matching color and she was great. Honestly her skills were on point. She grinded under my over growth under nails where the tip meets my nail making it smooth. Which idk if anyone has ever done this!!! She has been doing nails for 26 years and it shows. She's efficient and does a beautiful job at getting exactly what you desire. They are clean and eager to please! I could write a lot but I don't have the time. I don't recommend this place if the owner is not in. Apparently (according to my friend) the service is great when she's there. The service yesterday was horrible. People were coming in and waiting for over 30 minutes then leaving. No one acknowledges you when you walk in. I could go on and on but I won't. $115.00 ($55 pedi $45 fill +tip) later, I'd say leave and head to the another nail salon. Oh and the $55.00 pedi wasn't worth $30.00. read more

First time at this salon and I definitely won't be back. My husband and I both treated ourselves to the luxury pedicure. Wish we'd stuck to a basic pedicure and saved ourselves a whole lot of cash. The whole experience lasted under an hour and felt rushed and sloppy rather than luxurious. At $80 a piece we should have left feeling pampered instead of ripped-off. Unfortunately, I got a dip powder manicure from Best City Nails last week. Within 5 days, the dip powder manicure started to lift. On the sixth day, I simply and very easily peeled off all of the dip powder gel manicure... This is incredibly disappointing, annoying, and costly. Speaking of costly, when I went to pay... they up-charged me like crazy. First, they said $50 dollars for the dip powder. Then, they added another $15 for gel polish, which I never asked for in addition to the dip powder. I have never heard of dip powder followed by gel nail polish. The dip powder does the job of the polish. $65 dollars for a very short dip powder manicure was nuts. I refused to pay that and it was very embarrassing to have this debate in front of all of the clients and staff. I did not get polish on my toes. I just got callus removal, wax, and a 10 minute massage... plus the horrible dip powder manicure that literally came off on its own after only six days cost $96 dollars!! That's NUTS! My manicure was also very uneven... my thumb nails went to an angle, making my fingers look crooked... I asked the manicurist to fix the nails, and after she tried with a file for a bit, I just had to give up because she just made them even more crooked. Honestly, I was like "whatever" about everything until they hit me with a $65 dollar price tag on this horrible manicure I got... It's not like I got a full set of acrylic nails... I did not get any kind of design. My nails are very very short and there was no "pizzazzz" and it was $65 dollars?! Ugh... I wasn't going to write a review because I like to say nice things about businesses when I write on yelp... BUTTTTTT I figured this is like a Public Service Announcement because after only 6 days, all of my dip powder nails came OFF. And NOW I have to pay another $$$$$ at a different nail salon to have nice looking nails/hands for my new job. No bueno! :( Maybe they messed with the powder or the polish by adding acetone to it? I don't know... how could it all peal off after only six days?! :( I wish I could get a refund to use the money to get my nails fixed! I'm not rich and spending sooooo much $$$$ on nails in such a short time is a burden. :( read more

This is my first time visiting this nail salon. The place is nice and clean. Very spacious, lots of stations for manicure, lots of spa chairs for pedicure. The lady who did my pedicure was OK. Not too much conversation, which I like. She's also fast, but I did wish she was a little more detailed and maybe a bit heavy handed when she was scraping my cuticles.
