Customer service by Maya and the Man (husband I assume) terrible . I got a French tip manicure, my nails are uneven the white tip design is also uneaven and the nail feels sticky not soft and sleek like gel should feel.. I asked her to fix my one nail I had a very big lump on and the attitude plus pulling of my hand when fixing was uncalled for . The man was rude at checkout he has no communication skills and asked me for cash as something I was going to include automatically, I normally tip generously but this service was very disappointing.. I will never return nor will I ever recommend this place . Lucky for them they will always have their senior community keep them in business since they're so close to sun city Palm desert. I went to this place for the second time and asked to get a mani and pedi at the same time as I was in rush. The owner assigned a second technician to me to and said I'll be an extra $5 since my services will be done at the same time. I was extremely disappointed to see that she was taking advantage of the fact that I was in time crunch and added unnecessary and unfair to my charges!!! I have been going to nail salons for a few decades and had never seen a salon charges extra for the service if the client asks for the same time service. I complaint to the owner and she took the charge away, but unfortunately the damage was already done and she lost my trust. I won't go back to this place and do not recommend it either. read more

i've been having my nails done for over 30 years. I've gone to this establishment several times, but not recently. On July 13 I got a fill by John, who used a new product to me, a ready-made acrylic versus the powder. Between 7 and 10 days, two nails fell off; a few days later, a third nail, held on by lots of glue, gave it up. A fourth nail has lifted, but is re-glued into place. when I spoke with John after one week, he said to wait until his wife came back on August 8 to have them redone. I had informed John that due to an impending surgery date of August 2, I really couldn't wait until his wife's return, also mentioning getting my nails done might not be a priority or capability at that time. He offered to fix the three that have fallen off but I said it's still using the same ineffective product. In an effort to compromise, I asked if he would consider a partial refund (paid $45) so I could go elsewhere to get this done prior to surgery. He refused. read more

I have been going to her for a few years. I think she is disrespectful, her husband bullies you into leaving a tip and they own the shop. I have no problems saying none. This last time I was 10 minutes late. I wouldn't have had a problem if she said to me I can't take you. But she sat in the back and I think she was just eating for another 15 minutes after I arrived, then comes out giving me a hard time how I threw off her day. I called her out and said them why did you sit in the back for another 15 minutes if you are so upset about this ? n my mind then don't take me. Send me away for another time. But she was yelling at me because I didn't take all my nails off and I don't allow her to do it because frankly it hurts way to much when she does it, and she tears them up. Extremely painful. But the latest is the last 2 times my nails started falling off after a week. This has never happened before. So between the extreme unprofessionalism and the vibe of being treated like dog doo I won't be back. read more

I went there and she charged $55 for a gel pedicure!! It was supposed to be 32 but she charged extra for the gel! Husband and wife team. Very unethical! Will never go again! When I paid he said . I passed by this salon when I was getting onto the 10 freeway at Washington St., and decided I should try them for a pedicure. I pulled into the salon parking lot, happy to see that there was plenty of parking. I noticed upon entering the salon that their business hours include Sundays, scored a few extra points right there for being available when no one else is! I was greeted by friendly smiles all around when I entered, and delighted to see how absolutely brand new and clean the salon was (they opened less than a year ago)! ALL brand new leather massage chairs, foot baths, drying stations, and shiny clean tools! I chose my nail polish color for my pedicure from their selection on the wall, they had a lot of the OPI brand which I love! When I was seated in the chair I was given a menu of the pedicure options to choose from, complete with description of each service and price. This makes it SO much easier to know what you are getting, and there was no upselling unlike other salons I've been to. My technician did an excellent overall job with the whole process from polish removal, to cuticles and shaping, to painting my nails. Probably the best I've had in the 4 different salons I've tried here in the Valley. Oh and my spa pedicure was only $18! read more

Went here for a pedicure around noon on a Saturday. At first the people were really nice, but as my pedi progressed, and more people came in, they seemed rushed to get me out. They even switched technicians on me mid way through. Also, I asked to keep the town & country magazine I was looking at, and they seemed super annoyed I would even ask. The guy laughed and passive aggressively turned to the customer next to me saying "hahaha, she wants to keep the magazing!?" Since he didn't give me a clear answer, I asked again when I paid, and then he said "no you may not have it!, you have to share!" It's just a magazine for goodness sakes, and they have tons just laying around. Disappointed to say the least. I will not go here again. read more

I myself am licensed for nails, however I don't choose to practice. It is important to me to find a clean establishment and they are. Great customer service and friendly. I read an older post that gave this establishment a very low rating. I understand waiting sometimes can be annoying. They want to be able to help everyone especially when they are new. Until they figure out their busier times, cut them a little slack. Especially if you notice it's not a reoccurring thing and you have nowhere you HAVE to be. It's like a new restaurant opening, they don't always nail it when the doors open. The magazine complaint...that's nothing to complain about. I myself have to stock in my shop. It is very hard to please everyone. I think people getting upset when they can't take an establishments magazine is rude, you didn't pay for it. It becomes expensive. We're all here on yelp for the important thing nails and spa. Like I said before, clean establishment. That in its self is worth a lot. Great nails! Mia has done my nails over 10 years now. Always loved them. No problems with fungus, great shape, durable and beautiful. The gentleman today, it was my first time with him, great job. The pedicure packages are greatly priced and can't believe how much they offer in them. T.V.'s on you can watch that if you don't like the magazines. This place is still new, if you have something you dislike, give them some polite feedback. Establishment don't happen over night. Today I had my first visit to Luxury Nails upon a coworkers recommendation. Its close to our office (and also my home). I have to share that I had such a great experience. Upon arrival I was greeted by John (one of the owners) and he promptly sat me down and started on my nails. I had requested Mia (again,upon my coworkers recommendation) and was slightly confused with John taking care of me. Come to find out he was helping Mia for a minute-which was great because she is clearly in high demand (and for good reason). Upon her taking over, which was merely minutes, she made it clear that my experience and my satisfaction were her highest concern. I went in for a new set of nails and she explained I did not need a new set (ergo, saving me $$$$$ ) and she asked what my preferences were and got right down to business. I know my nails were in poor shape (i.e me figuring I needed a new set) but she fixed what needed fixed and made them more pretty than they had been in years. She listened to what I liked, and did everything in her power to get it perfect. When I say perfect, I do not mean just by my own standards. Mia is a perfectionist and she was not satisfied with her own work until she made sure that I was happy. To cut an extremely long review short-give them a shot. As far as nails go, I will be back. I'll post about the other services as I receive them. PS-If you want the Mia Gold Standard-better make an appointment as she books up fast. I went here today to try something new and close to my house. The salon is clean and they have very nice and good massage chairs. I picked the 25.00 package of pedicure that includes the sea salt and paraffin, I love paraffin it really does such a nice number on your feet. I had to ask for a magazine and the manger seemed to take quite a while in picking one out for me, his answer was the people mags he had were all out dated. I can tell you that when I get my hair or my nails done, it is the only time I read People or US and I look forward to it. I think salons in general should always have these as part of their business. The staff seemed quite but nice, and the location is hard to know if you were just driving by, it is on the back side of the building.. All in all I would go back. I do think however if he lower a price or two, or added the hot stones to all his special pedicures that they do a bit more business. Once they get loyalty especially with the locals it can really help in the long run, and I think they would have a better chance at more business. read more

So I checked out the reviews at this location after leaving a spa that didn't have enough time to do what I wanted. Reviews were so so at this location. I'm all for reviews, but I needed my nails done badly. So I decided to come here. Normal nail salon atmosphere. Not the best but was far from the worst I've seen. Lovely older woman did my pedicure and she did a wonderful job. However my nails didn't come out the way I wanted them. But I was satisfied with the outcome. Eyebrows was done perfectly!!! When you sell me on a more expensive pedicure, you should do what you say. Your menu says 10 min massage and since I opted for NO paraffin you offered longer massage. My massage lasted 8 minutes. Not even the full time listed on the menu and no extra time for the treatment I passed on. And a rushed pedi at that. Just bc there are people coming in doesn't mean you skimp on my time. The map is weird on here, don't let it fool you. This is at Washington and I10 freeway, across from Stater Brothers. I almost didn't try this salon because of some of the reviews but then I realized that when you read the negative reviews most of them were just kind of weird. I am so glad I tried it! They have a very nice and clean salon. They got me right in and did my manicure and pedicure at the same time. They have tons of gel colors which is very nice because too many places only have a few. They have a very nice pedicure selection menu with 4 packages to choose from. The lady who did my manicure even asked if I wanted my cuticles cut. I have NEVER been asked that in a regular nail salon. Unless something changes this is my new salon from here out. read more

Great service from the owner and her husband. The only problem is...if owner is not available to do your nails--DON'T let her helper do your nails. She is cross-eyed(seriously) & she couldn't get my nails straight; owner had to stop and come help her. Then days later I was looking at my nails and they were uneven and thick on some sides by cuticle-ugly. She hardly used drill because she didn't know how, everyone needs to use drill or they are not thin-smooth. She did nice polish but that's about it. Be careful! read more

Worst pedicure ever Called first Four people for mani pedis and was told come in. Yes they had four chairs. However they didn't have staff for us. We all sat and sat. Two of the group told they couldn't have the colors from the color wheel for gel. No massages unless you could 8 seconds a good massage. My niece got no massage at all. Not even the 8 seconds. It was all going downhill. We came for the package as I mentioned but they kept trying to push us to buy the more expensive pedicures instead and were visibly annoyed that we didn't add on. They kept asking us each and handing us the menu to buy a larger package. In fact the woman doing my sisters nails next to me didn't even know there was a gel mani/pedi for 50 on the wall menu. Woman across from us and her husband very irritated that they were left with paragon bags on forever and she told them plz plz take this off. Decided to skip the gel mani and leave We all left paying just for our pedicures. Dirty salon. No magazines offered. One person said oh I can't do that color it only looks good on acrylic nails. Ok. No tissue between my sisters toes. Out of all of us no one happy. Will not be back....ever. Absolutely the worst pedicure I've ever had and sad I wasted so much. They were under staffed and the nail technician changed twice. She completely rushed through my service and slapped on too much nail polish . She switched between my friend and I and when she went back to my friend I sat for 30 minutes while they air dried and thought they would be fine to leave . Within an hour of leaving , my nail polish was messed up by hitting something because it was so completely slapped on and heavy. Terrible. Wish I didn't waste the money. read more

Horrible service and hidden fees. I am new having my nails done, I asked to have my gel nails filled and they proceeded to remove the gel and try and have me pay $60 for a new set, plus an additional $5 for colour. I was outraged and said I would like to leave and just pay for the removal (which I didn't want). Was then told that she did a manicure and would need to pay for that as well. Since I was already paying I chose a colour to have to help hide the half removed gel. Unfortunately I received a horrible manicure, the paint doesn't reach the side of my nails and the tops of each nail is poorly done despite asking numerous times to have a better paint job. After checking the reviews they didn't seem all the bad, not to mention it's just around the corner. My first experience was very pleasant and simple. Everyone was extremely nice and made sure you got what you want. My second visit was more so so. My third visit was not so great. I had made an appointment for a mani, pedi (color change again). When I got there, it was nice and quiet. I wanted a little change up so I asked for a cute and simple color/sparkle I came across on Pinterest. A little disappointed to have been had the rings of gel colors I'd seen before and asked to pick the color. Shortly later they began getting more customer. I could tell Patricia (I believe that is her name) began to rush more. As always she continued to ask how my nails looks. I told her one was very rippled to which she said it was the nail I had cracked and she had patched up with acrylic polish. Not thinking at the time I brushed it off. Frustrated now as I look at my manicure and notice the mistakes on more than one nail. While the people are very kind and pleasant, I would not recommend coming here if you're looking for a cute manicure. I would however come here again for a pedicure and very simp manicure. FINALLY found a good nail salon! Being that I am new to the desert it has been quite a feat to find a good replacement to my fav place where I used to live. I have been to numerous places here and either they are filthy, rude, over priced and did I mention dirty? Also, what I found here in the desert that it seems NO ONE allows you put a tip on the credit/debit card??? What the heck!?! So I was stoked to have found them AND it is very close to my house...score! annnnd, you can leave a tip on your credit/debit :) Very clean place. Jon, the owner, is ALWAYS cleaning! I tell him he's worse then me as a clean freak. But when you have salon being OVERLY clean is GOOD thing! Additionally, he is warm, friendly, and always ensuring that ALL his customers are satisfied with their service. If you're not he gladly accepts the feedback. Mani/pedi's last longer than I have ever experienced. I think they use bond-aid (sp?) the same stuff they use when you get acrylics put on.
