Update: this time around I thought it was just ok. Starting with a positive, my pedicure was great!!!! However the manicure wasn't. My dip has a a few tiny bumps in one nail --the light pink color pictured is the one from today. The guy doing it was a bit rough and I mentioned to him when hurt while he was filing my nails hurting my skin and he didn't say sorry or anything. Just paused then started back at it. My daughter's mani gel is cute, strawberry themed but was an extra $15. It is cute though! I do like this salon but they are not consistent when it comes to quality or service, it varies. The last time they were awesome. Today was just ok for me. The price I thought was so high (mine was dip plus short acrylic tip, regular pedicure, daughter child gel mani and regular child pedi and it was total $155)! So I'm not normally one to do yelp reviews by any means but I live right down the street so when I want to pamper myself, boutique was my go to. Today, I got a fill and a pedicure. My fill was rushed and you can see lifting already in the creases and my nails weren't rounded off at corners, nor were my nails underneath filed down with the dremel. My pedicure was AWFUL and I've never had a bad pedicure here. I have a cut on my toe. I was also BURNED with the stone to where a big blister was left, and my massage was a massage my 4 year old son would give me. Ken always does a great job on my nails. I don't have time to be in the nail salon for hours at a time. Ken gets me in and out and my nails look perfect every time. Today I got white dipping powder on my natural nails. They say white is the hardest color but Ken nails it every time. If white is your go to color he's the one you should see. If you are getting a pedicure with your nail service and you want a more expedited process they will do your pedicure and nails at the same time upon request (and if they don't have a long wait). The only thing I don't like is that they do not provide you with toe nail separators when you get a pedicure. They use paper towels. If you have toes that tend to be close together paper towels aren't the best option. So I bring my own toe separators for them to use. This is a hard one to review. I am happy with the quality of my manicure/pedicure. It was clean and well organized. The massage chairs are very comfortable, and they even have iPads that you can use to watch a show or check your email. It is very nice. I was not that impressed with the customer service. Both times I have been in, I felt a bit uncomfortable. My last time I had a mani/pedi and two gentlemen did them. Poor customer service. Poor quality. My nails are uneven, I have cuts on my fingers. Went back the day after to have them fix my nails and was told to come back the next day when the nail tech who did my nails would be in. I no longer live out in queen creek so it's quite a drive as it is, explained to one of the techs that was there. She then went to explain that they work off commission and that if she fixed my nails it wouldn't work for her. & then another nail tech that was there came to look at my nails and said that it would take time. After going back and forth with them I decided to walk out. I have recommended this place to my family and friends but after this visit I will no longer be coming here. Ive been coming here for 2 years for pedicures and have never had a bad experience and I've pretty much gone to every employee who does pedicures and the consistency of their work is amazing, my nails always last over a month if I can't make it in before then and I've gone up to 2 months without desperately needing a pedicure because the polish and application never cracks or lifts from the bottom. Each tech is gentle and helpful when picking a color that suits my skin tone the best especially with pinks. read more

Ended up stopping here on a whim. I was very impressed with the interior of this place. Every pedicure station had an iPad and these amazing looking massage chairs. I was jealous and wish I had time for a pedicure. I came in for a full set. I was told it was going to be a 30 mins wait and it was maybe 20 mins? I didn't mind the wait because I wouldn't want them to rush through getting my nails done either. I've never seen such a large selection of nail polish. They had them on two walls. Then the gel selection was another two walls. I haven't tried the SNS powder yet but again, the possibilities were endless. I am not much of a chatter when I get my nails done which is why it didn't bother me my nail tech hardly spoke two words to me. It's hard to find a nail salon where they don't chatter back and forth in their language. But this place, at least you didn't feel like they were laughing behind your back. The owner is lovely but her employees are always in a bad mood. You don't argue with a customer because the nail polish they choose is maybe not something you like to use as a tech. If a customer asks a question, you can answer kindly instead of taking offense. I simply asked if a clear coat was put on and the employee said she could have the owner pull the camera if needed. I wasn't accusing her, it was a question. I was not rude in anyway and she was already put off when I was seated in station 3. They say you get what you pay for...in this case, $140 was not worth it this time. There is other mail places around the area that charge slightly a little less and the quality is great. The first time I scheduled the appointment I had a guy do my nails and he did and amazing job. The pedicure was such a great work. I recently came back and scheduled and appointment (it's my fault for not requesting the same person) the lady was so sweet but the job she did was horrible, it looks like a 2 year old painted my nails and the quality of my hand nails are clumpsy and not a clean look. Gel nail fill with Tommy. He does an excellent job! Gel goes to the very edge of cuticle and it's a thin coat, no bumps. He is also awesome at polishing; like a surgeon with his nail tools. Makes sure the edges/tips of the nail have color and that they look good from every angle. I especially like that he doesn't get offended or frustrated if I say I want him to do something over. For example, give me more white on the French Manicure or shape my nail differently. I'm picky about my nail shape (it's called Square Oval or Squoval) and he is able to get it perfect! Workers are very rude and metal in your business while speaking in their language and laughing which feels offensive. when you're working with your personal nail tech and have a concern, another tech will come alongside your tech and intervene with no knowledge of what your concerns are and it is extremely rude. They talk about clients while they are present. They also have poor customer service skills and super expensive!! Stopped in for a quick French polish change and was very disappointed with the customer service. I'm not one to complain if my nails don't look perfect but the french tip on one of my big toes was VERY crooked it looked like I painted it with my eyes closed. I politely asked (Tommy) if he could fix it, then out of no where he starts screaming at me. When I first came here about half a year ago, I was immediately impressed and have been a customer ever since. The interior is trendier than a lot of other nail places. It isn't the trendiest, but it's still very easy on the eyes. They offer a wide variety of services including normal polish, gel, loose glitter, SNS, facial waxing, etc... I am particularly impressed by their color options. I kid you not....they have 20 different shades of one color. Ha. Personally, I've taken to their loose glitter options. Who doesn't love glitter?! For pedicures, they do line their bowl with a new plastic lining between each customer. I think this is a bonus since I perceive it to be more sanitary. Pricing is pretty comparable to other salons. They have ipads for customers' entertainment on the pedicure chairs. The employees are pretty accommodating with requests. I usually get a gel pedicure. Some places will use a nail file drill to get rid of the paint. This can cause wearing and thinning of the nail so instead, I ask them to wrap it with alcohol. They do it without hesitation while some other places give me resistance for this request! I usually go to one nail tech but I have had several others. Everyone does a very good job, and they're all meticulous. They do A+ work. During busy hours, there can be upward of a 1 hour wait. They do take appointments, and I usually have an appointment so I rarely have to wait at all. This nail salon does a good job at honoring reservations in a timely manner. I very much appreciate the way they conduct business here. One minor thing I would change is the smell of cigarette smoke. Few of their employees smoke outside the back entrance. Fortunately, the salon is very airy when the doors are open, but the unfortunate side of airy is that air travels. Air carries the cigarette odor into the salon. Obviously, I am not a fan of it. The nail techs are Vietnamese, and they do a good job keep conversation in Vietnamese to a minimum. The thing I find most attractive about this place is that employees engage in conversation with customers, learn about their customers. I am Vietnamese and understand the language so it's oftentimes awkward walking into a new nail salon and hearing the employees speaking badly about customers. I make it a point to avoid those places, so it was nice to see minimal of this behavior at Boutique Nails Bar. It could also be that they know I understand what they say so they're usually on their best behavior. I think they may have raised their prices recently. Last time they told me it's $3 to remove the old gel paint. To get a gel, it used to be $12 but now it's 15. I'm not really sure the price breakdown but their brochures do not accurately reflect the prices they charge. It's kind of annoying especially when it's difficult to hold them accountable. It's also a significant up-charge for special things like glitter. After all is said and done, I could pay about $50 for a gel pedicure, which in my opinion is pretty high when I could get it for significantly less at another nail salon. read more

Got my pedicure done here and it was good, the two stars are due to covid policies. During my pedicure 4 young girls came into the salon without masks on, none of the employees said anything to the girls and proceeded to have them wait in the lobby until there was availability. I came in for a $57 Happy Me + gel polish pedicure on Monday afternoon and on Wednesday morning, I was participating in a telemedicine call with my Doctor begging for antibiotics. While receiving the callous remover treatment with a cheese grater, the gal who was giving me the pedicure unfortunately went a little too hard or too far. She tore a chunk of skin out of the area near my toes. It's a very sensitive area, even the doctor commented on how deep the area was where the skin was missing. I went back into the shop to physically show them the mistake, because I just wanted them to be aware & to be extra careful for the next customer........and instead of an apology, the lady who did my pedicure insisted that it was my fault because apparently I had a blister that popped!! Ummmmm definitely not. I did have some dry skin, but there definitely was not a blister. When it happened, I definitely jerked my foot and she immediately had me place it in the water bowl. The pain quickly went away and she finished the service. The skin was obviously wet and I didn't feel pain until my skin dried out, which was a few hours after my appointment. I'm disappointed in the lack of care by this nail salon, which I've been going to for a few years now. My regular girl that I see is out due to Covid worries, so I had a new person. Unless they make it right, that will probably be my last visit. Edit to add- I have pictures of my foot from every single day since it happened. Great, friendly staff! I'm always able to walk in and rarely have to wait. They recently redid a lot of the salon and now have ipads at every pedi seat. More than necessary, but nice. He said there were lots of movies preloaded on each, but I didn't watch any. I also noticed they redid their "menu" which looked very nice. Trish does a wonderful job on SNS nails (dipping powder)! I'm currently out of town and due for a re-do, and I'm realizing how rare an SNS nail salon is! Thankfully I don't travel much bcs this salon is my usual spot. I've never gotten a pedi (I'm a diy-er usually) here, and only have done SNS manis, but this spot is wonderful! Not everyone in the salon is trained to do SNS so your best bet is to set an appt to avoid a possible wait (really only happened to me once though).
