I got an older lady who had dirty hands didn't do a very good job and she didn't wash her hands or sanitize them before she gave me my manicure and it was the worst manicure I've ever had. I would not go back. I mean the manicure was only $20 but she didn't hardly do anything. I ask her not to shape my nails round. I wanted them to remain square and she didn't listen to that. I discovered this nail salon around the corner from my home and was initially excited--it's affordable, convenient, and they generally do a decent job. For a while, I had been seeing the same technician, an older woman who tends to be a bit rough. She consistently uses the highest heat settings on her tools, which is very uncomfortable. At first, I thought I was just being overly sensitive and didn't speak up, even though I was paying for a service. Unfortunately, my most recent visit will be my last. The same technician did my nails again, and the experience left me feeling incredibly uncomfortable and disrespected. She burned my nails with the drill, and when I pulled my hand back out of reflex, she slapped it and yanked it closer. I wasn't even allowed to choose my nail color--she refused to give me the color book and insisted on choosing for me. When I voiced that I didn't like the shade she picked, she became argumentative and aggressive. After several minutes of back-and-forth, I gave up and felt pressured to accept a color I didn't want. Throughout the manicure, she continued to slam my hands around and handle me roughly. The pedicure was no better--she used the tools in a way that was genuinely painful, and didn't stop even when I asked her to. I left feeling humiliated, upset, and disappointed. $85 is a lot for me--I can only afford to treat myself once a month--and instead of feeling relaxed and pampered, I walked away stressed and stuck with a color I don't like. She also rushed and my nails were broken a day after and have cuts. I'm now searching for a new salon where I can feel comfortable, respected, and actually enjoy the experience. read more

Came here to get a gel pedicure and acrylic full set. The gel pedicure was great. They took their time. Probably best massage I've gotten compared to other places. However, I'm not really happy with my full set. The polish is somewhat sloppy. The shaping could be better. Also, the tips that they use don't really stay. The tips kept lifting from try nail and they just kept putting more and more glue. The tip continued to lift even after the acrylic powder was on. Every time I mentioned it, they would just put more glue. And when I was done, there was a gap between my nail and the tip and they continued to put more glue. I called in to see if they had availability for a walk in dip manicure and they said yes The first manicurist I had was very helpful me pick a color that went well with my skin tone and was very nice. Then she had an appt and had another nail tech step in. The most important part of a dip manicure is how you file and shape it. She went over my nails with the drill several times and then all of a sudden she pulled out the top coat. I said "oh no, can you please file more? They are very thick and don't have a good shape, they look bulbous" She was visibly irritated and said that if she went thinner they wouldn't last long. I said I would take the risk because they needed to be thinner. We had been casually chatting before this and after my request she stopped talking to me except to say that she didn't want to go thinner. I didn't feel comfortable asking again and let her finish. Megan does amazing nails. She did my gel nails pink and silver sparkles and they lasted 4 weeks. I've received numerous compliment for these nails. I also got a pedicure done and it was nicely done. Megan was the only one working (she's great by the way) and she was so pleasant and personable! We had a great time with her and we both loved our pedicures! When I first looked up Best Nails' reviews after seeing the groupon for the shellac manicure, the reviews were great. A month later after I made an appointment, downhill. When I called a few days in advance to make an appointment, the woman who answered the phone (Tiffany I believe) told me I could come at 9:30 AM on Saturday. However, I didn't want an early appointment so I asked for a 4 PM. She seemed hesitant, but agreed. Saturday morning came and I was really hesitant to go after reading the reviews. However, it seemed like the majority liked Tiffany's work, so I called at 9:20 AM to see if I could come in early as I was jetlagged on east coast time. She told me she was busy and that she would call me back if I could come in later. I asked her when that would be as it would take me at least 20 minutes to get there, and she said she would call me back. Around 9:40 AM, she called and said she was ready. I told her it would take me at a minimum of 20 minutes and she said ok. I asked if she was going to do my nails, and it sounded like she was, so I rushed on over. Exactly 10 minutes later, she called again and I was already stressing, and she asked where I was. Again, I explained to her that it was a 20 minute drive so I would be there in 10. When I got there, there was no greeting. Tiffany is pretty stone cold and was with another customer. The lady I had was a bit older, and she went to work right away, shaping my nails without me asking. When I told her I wanted white nails, she made a face and told me to pick something else. I'm really indecisive, so I finally decided between a ashy lavender and light teal. She said the ashy lavender looked better, but when she opened the DND (never heard of this one?) polish and put it on my finger, she immediately said no. It was old or something? Tiffany was trying to see what the trouble was, and I said this was the color we decided on and now she didn't want to use it without any explanation? Overall, I got what I paid for. The customer service is horrible, I don't know how they keep any regular customers with their attitude. I felt so uncomfortable there, so unwelcome, definitely staying away. read more

All recent reviews are clearly not real. I walked out of this place without even finishing getting my nails done. I've never walked out without completing my nails, but I couldn't stand it. The person working on my nails had no idea what she was doing! I went in for fill manicure. 1. While removing the nail polish, I told the person I can feel the heat from the machine too much as she was scrapping the polish off. She argued that it's because she's taking off polish. I told her I get nails done every 2 weeks, I've not felt the heat that much before. Sure enough, few mins later I had to pull my hand away out of instinct because the heat was unbearable. 2. I asked for like round edges and pointy nail shape. She told me it's not possible because my nails are too short. Then another person came over and she said was able to do what I asked. How it went from impossible to possible I'm not sure. 3. While filing my nail, again she cut me with the electric file. At this point I walked out and went to my usual place. I've come here for both a pedicure and gel manicure. Every time it's been a good experience. They speak Vietnamese but very lightly and it's not anything negative like what I've experienced at other nail salons. It's a small salon and never too busy so they will take you in quickly as a walk in. The gel manicure was the quickest I've ever gotten. Some people might not like that but I prefer it! The pedicure on the other hand included a long foot and leg massage with scrub. Probably the longest I've ever had anywhere and I loved every second of it! read more

I was looking for a new place as my old nail salon was just so crowded and hard to get into anymore. I checked reviews and decided to try Best Nails on Camino Verde. I wish I could give Mimi 20 stars. I called and she took me right away. When I got there she had just finished with someone and I had the place to myself. She was so kind and really took her time with me. I have never had other salons clean and cut my toe nails like she did. I had a great time chatting with her, that usually doesn't happen at other salons I have been to. The leg massage Mimi gave was awesome. She took her time. Her attention to detail and what I wanted done was wonderful. She let me sit there and really wanted to make sure my polish was dry before I left. I don't get my nails done often, so I've only been here twice but both times have been wonderful!! This last visit was a treat to myself to a manicure that would last me through Christmas and to New Years at Disneyland. I wish I caught the name of my manicurist because she was so wonderful. At first I was very careful with my nails because I just am used to normal polish chipping after one day. After about two days I gave up on being careful at all. Here we are three weeks later and there is not a single chip. I can't even believe it. This manicure has lasted me through hosting a Chtistmas party (and hand washing the dishes), Disneyland, and New Years. Aside from the natural growth, it looks exactly like it did on day one! If you want a super neat, perfectly shaped, beautiful manicure, come see Tiffany! I picked a dark red oxblood color for my manicure. I'm super picky about the neatness of the paint and usually have to ask the manicurist to clean up the paint on my cuticles. Tiffany did a perfect job and didn't get any paint on my skin or cuticles at all. This is not the fanciest nail salon. The ambiance isn't great.
