I'm less than five minutes away from Best Nails and I frequent the plaza where it's located, but until I saw a deal on Groupon, I had no idea of its existence. That's a shame considering it's far cheaper, and potentially a lot better, than my former nail salons and so close to home. I think it's under new management as of about a year ago? I called in the morning and they made me a same-day appointment, and even though I was about twenty minutes early, they helped me right away. I was already wearing old shellac which the man there (didn't get his name) took off for me. Tiffany took care of the manicure and was attentive and shaped/painted evenly. Unlike most salons I've visited, Best Nails left me with smooth, non-lumpy, well-shaped nails without any paint on the skin around my nails. People seem to complain about how long the manicures take, but mine took about 45 minutes and was well worth the time and good service. Tiffany was sweet and said that next time I come, she'd give me a shellac manicure for $25 (guessing the price is higher as it is a lot higher at many other places) and french tips for the same price. read more

I had the best experience here this week. I was running late due to rush hour traffic, but I called and they said to come on in and they would wait. I arrived at 6:45 (they close at 7)..I picked out my color and sat down almost immediately. There were a few other clients there and never did I feel like they were rushing to get the clients finished so they could go home. Tim took extra care in making sure I liked the length, shape, color and all through the whole process. Tiffany finished her clients (around 7:45pm) and ended up Tidying up the salon while Tim completed my manicure. The manicure turned out lovely and both Tim and Tiffany talked to me after I was through and got to know me. The service is exceptional, price is reasonable and the salon is spotless. Got the Groupon deal and paid $8.95 for a shellac manicure, so I guess I shouldn't complain, but for those who don't have one be prepared for a lackluster experience. I had to make an appointment according to Groupon, so I did. First time around I totally forgot about my 5pm appointment and when they called at 5:15pm I could not make it. I felt like I was being scolded over the phone by the woman who called me and was hesitant to make another one, but did for the following Monday at 5pm. There was one woman in the shop when I arrived and two workers, the place couldn't fit more than a few people, as it is very small with three nail tables and three pedicure chairs. I never got the name of the woman who did my nails, but they were done quickly... seemed to me that a lot of steps I'm used to were skipped when getting a gel mani. No cuticle remover was used, only one top coat, no cuticle oil. Maybe they just spoil me at my regular salon idk. Pedi was also done quickly which was fine, I wanted to get out asap, as the atmosphere was very rushed to get me out and made the whole experience uncomfortable. At the end of everything I told her I had Groupon she said okay, then when I tried to pay with Visa she said the machine was down so I had to walk to Rite Aid and get cash out (they don't have an ATM.) By the time I got back to the shop they were waiting with their things by the door and I just handed her over the cash.. So awkward! Worth the $41.65 I ended up paying for a basic pedi and gel mani (including tip, ATM fees etc.) but I would have been pissed if I paid full price. I'm sticking with Bellagio Salon down the street, my experience there is always amazing. read more

I have been going to #BEST NAILs for over 6 years, off and on because I go to burke and williams santana row & serenity day spa BUT decided to drop by #Best Nails few months ago and discovered it was under "new" management so went in anyway. The new Manager was so professional, the Salon had a COMPLETE make over, They offered me water, I mentioned I was at lunch and Miss Tiffany (the manager) said they have granola bars and a bowl of candy to snack on until I was done. Extremely sweet and caring people. I started going to #BEST NAILS on a bi weekly basis for waxing, nails and Pedi's and the service never falls short. Warning: the owner is ALWAYS afraid of losing customers so she'll ALWAYS try to jam ALL the customers into the same time slot because she doesn't want you to leave. I HATE the owner!!!! I would've given the place 5 stars if they had a different owner who didn't make you wait so she could serve the new customers..... Aside from that, I love Phuong (Lynn). She is sooooooooooooooooooooo nice. She spends a lot of time on your mani and pedi and she DOES NOT overcharge. Every time I go there she always spends at least 2 hours on my mani and pedi. She does make mistakes here and there when she's painting my french tips, BUT I don't really care about that since I'm not there just for nail art..... I'm there to get treated like a queen and Phoung (Lynn) definitely makes me feel like that! This is one of the few places that will shave off that gross skin that you have on the soles of your feet and they give you massages. It might be a little rough, but you can always tell them to soften up on their massages. Also, they don't speak very much English... so, if you can be patient with their limited English, you'll enjoy your manis and pedis. read more

I saw a few people had Groupons, and dang I wish I had one! I am a fan for sure. I got a mani/pedi at the same time, it only took about 30 minutes, and I was completely satisfied with my nails. I got gel fingernails because we were going on a tropical vacation. Typically on those vacations, the gel doesn't hold up (long periods of time in warm water takes the gel off). However, my nails didn't chip, peel, or tear at all while we were on vacation, so I was completely happy! I will definitely be back for nails (and lip waxing - only $6). I found this place because of Groupon and I had a shellac manicure, the worst shellac manicure I've had to date. The technicians name was Ann and although she was quiet & nice her work was poor because of the reasons: 1. The smallest amount of cotton was used to remove my shellac nail polish. The cotton wasn't even soaked with acetone. This in turn worked against her when trying to scrap off my nail polish and in turn was not good for my nails. 2. I had to ask her to re - file 4 nails because they were crooked. 3. The shellac nail polish was not applied evenly and my nails are spotty. However because of the poor service i would not return for them to fix it. 4. My nails were filed thinly and in turn 3 have broke. Side note, my nails are not long. 5. The overall work was poor and i would not recommend this place or return. I would suggest Best Nails test and hires better technicians. read more

Since past few times I realized that they kind of gossip in their language about clients. They pretended to be really welcoming in front of the clients and fix any problems and as soon as the client left they would mock them for some reason. I've been going to best nails for the past 6 years ever since I moved into the neighborhood. If you asked me about Best Nails the first time I went, I would be giving it a 1 star, but I didn't want to give up faith on it so I went back. Disclaimer: I'm very picky about my nails. The first time I went into Best Nails the manager ended up taking me. Yes, she may seem "out of this world" but when I first met her and she was working on my nails, barely doing a good job. I just wanted to grab her glasses from her face and wipe them off, they were so dusty (from the sanding). I ended up leaving the place, hating my nails, going to another place right afterwords to get them fixed. The next time I went back (2 years after my first incident), I ended up getting Linh. She is the best one in that Salon. She knows exactly what I want, how I want them and does her job in a timely manner. She even throws in a neck and shoulder massage when I go in for a mani and pedi. I only go to her for my nails. If she's not there, I only get a color change. Although, I must say, they have a tendency of saying, "right now, we can do right now" when all of the girls are busy with customers and the wait ends up being 20-30 minutes. They also have the same CD that has been in their CD player for the past 4 years. But other then that, LINH does a good job. I would recommend LINH for a mani/new set. read more

I tried this place because I had purchased a Groupon for Shellac and I only purchased it because they are in my neighborhood and I wanted to support the local businesses. My husband and I decided to both get pedicures as well (it's only his second one ever). This place is small and outdated. My husband had to watch how far he laid back his seat due to hitting a table with a radio on it behind him. The ladies personally adjusted his chair and brought it forward claiming that there was not enough room for him to lay it down. They don't put too much effort into cleaning their pedicure bowls as I just watched the lady's pour an orange soap and quick rinse. The instruments they use look wore down and unsanitized. After my pedicure was done I asked for slippers so that I wouldn't have to walk over to the manicure station barefoot...all I heard was what I'm assuming was complaining in Vietnamese back and forth between two. I did however get my slippers. We were not offered anything to drink like most places do these days. The lady who worked on my nails worked very quickly probably because customers were coming in but they didn't have enough technicians (3 ladies working). Her filing was hard and hurt my skin. I asked for short nails and she took them down to the under skin. I asked for natural and she gave me what looks like clear with a little bit of shimmer. The color she applied did not look like the color I picked out. My toe polish is uneven, but the color is nice... Not nice enough to return though. Now whats a guy doing at a Vietnamese nail salon? Well funny story. After going to 24 hr next door with my ex girlfriend, she wanted to get her nails done. I was like uh ok, you do that. Apparently girls have this thing where they insist on NOT going a lone anywhere. She ended up dragging me down the block to Best Nails. Now, when you walk in, its the typical asian sight. 4 spas, 4 working areas, typical decorations AND nice Asian ladies. Now the service here was exceptional. When I entered, they immediately took my friend away. They also were motioning me to sit down at one of the foot spas. I politely declined saying it was not for me, and immediately proceeded to walk outside. She immediately came up to me and said to come sit and to get a foot massage free of charge while I waited for my friend. I was like wow thats really nice! So I went on the foot spa and she turned it on. That thing is amazing. My stress literally washed away. The entire time the nice worker, Sue, would come to me and ask me if I was doing ok and was comfortable. I was honestly just expecting to sit down and look at old magazines literally dying of the monotonous sight of reader's digest while the spoiled lady got a nice treatment (why am I still waiting? we broke up!). Instead, I got treated really nicely and it was offered for free! Of course I paid he back in tip but the gesture itself was a step above the call of duty that I have never found in another Asian establishment. My friend's nails turned out awesome and she liked the experience and service. The prices were reasonable for what I saw. Dear Best Nails, I have been a loyal customer since I was in middle school! Can you believe it?! You only get better with age. This year's remodel is the best I have ever seen your place IN YEARS! Kudos for the upgrade! Now you have legit separate stations for nails, separate room for waxings, and COMFY legit pedicure/spa seat stations with massage. I have to say your staff are super polite and nice. However, sometimes too nice by saying to walk-in clients they can be helped in 10 minutes but in reality it's more like a 1/2 hour. Come on, you know better. The only reason why I put up with it is because you remember me, you make my experience always personable and you talk to me, not about me or behind me back. Trust me I KNOW. This is why I usually book appointments or if I do walk in and it's busy I ask: "Honestly what time should I come back?" You answer honestly to me each time, why not to other customers? Also another reason why I keep coming back is that there have been times in the past when I come in a 1/2 hour before close and you still stay open after closing to help me and my sister/mom/grandma with our pedicures/manicures/waxings. Always service with a smile. I will also add that the new TV is a plus and I do not mind at all the Vietnamese dramas that play in loop. Why? They are kind of like watching Spanish novelas. You might not speak the language but 1) you get sucked in 2) soap opera story lines are the same in any language! Last but not least I am glad cleanliness and sanitizing everything is queen. Even though you charge me a $1 extra for the plastic spa protectant slip, I still pay beacause you treat me well. My last words are: honesty is the best policy. The whole shabang and I am very satisfied with the amount of work they put into a customer. Nancy did my pedicure and took her time making sure I was comfortable and everything was good. After getting a manicure for 1 hour and 45 mins, yes you read it right, yet still my nails look like it was done by a 5 year old. My nails were not cleaned not filed. After explaining my concerns to Tiffany, she looked at me like she hated me. I am a paying customer and if I do have concerns, you should fix it and not just look at me like if I am crazy. I just found my new go-to salon! Tiffany and Tim are really exceptional at their trade! I came in for a gel mani and my mom came in for a regular mani/pedi. My mom's appointment was first and was seated within 10 minutes of her appointment time. Tim did an AMAZING job on her nails. I wish I had a picture, but I don't-- just trust me, it was beautiful. I picked the color for my mom which turned out so beautiful against her skin tone. Tim painted a beautiful freehand flower on her toenails, they were just perfect. It looked like she got a gel mani with how shiny and flawless the mani/pedi was. My shellac mani was also great. Tiffany shaped up my nails exactly to my liking and did a simple, but cute freehand design on the ring fingers. What really made the service exeptional was that Tiffany fixed a bad pedicure job done by another salon the week before. It was the evening time and I knew they were closing soon, but she still took the time to remove the old pedi design and redo my toenails. She spent quality time on making sure my toenails looked great and I'm SO appreciative!! Im not sure why other reviewers are complaining about the groupon. I had no issue with using mine. The groupon instructions clearly say to make an appointment before coming into the salon. If you follow instructions, you will not have an issue! So I came in to just get a basic pedicure, nothing fancy, I was just well over do and didn't feel like driving to far to get one. I had noticed this place many times, but never came in. I am beyond glad I gave them a chance! I went in an early Saturday morning, about two hours after they opened.
