My request for service was answered quickly with an appointment made for the next day. I received timely notice of upcoming visits and informed when techs were on their way. It was determined and expected that my 24 year old ac system needed replacement . The furnace was older by 14 years. Keith called for their estimator, Joel to come to our home. Lucky for us, Joel was nearby and available in less than 30 minutes. Joel was very thorough in explaining options and systems that complimented our usage and needs. We picked the ideal choice for our needs and scheduled our furnace/ac system replacement. Due to inventory issues we were going to have to wait 5 days before the planned time. The terrific staff at Best Owner Direct HVAC & Electrical were able to locate a system from another distributor and scheduled the installation for Thursday. The over 100°f day. Worked with this company for almost 10 years. Every experience is amazing and wonderful. Kevin expanded so I don't see him as much (he's the one who knows so much and I love working with him). Lately Joel's coming by and he's been great. We've had one bad experience with one tech who didn't clean the ac well, and they sent him back to fix it without issues. If these guys tell you you need to replace your entire furnace, get a second opinion to be sure. Danny (very nice guy) told us our heat exchanger was on the way out and said eventually CO would start leaking into our house. Said we'd need to either replace it (which would cost thousands) or replace the entire furnace. Called another service and they said that was bull, and that the heater would stop working long before there would be a CO danger. Just do your homework. read more

About 3 years ago we had Kevin from Best Owner Direct HVAC come out and install 3 systems in our home. The one in our bedroom and garage work great but the one that was in our living room was not cooling or heating the house like it should. After a couple month from installation we called BOD and spoke to Kevin. He said he would come out and check our system. He came out and said we just needed to clean the filters. The system was brand new and so we did not believe the issue was just the filters, but we did clean them often. We asked him if he would check the line for any kinks, he said he did not believe it was that. After not getting the right heat in the winter and cooling in the hot summers, we spent so much time trying to get them to come back out to fix this issue. Kevin would message me and say he would come out and never show. I would message him again and he would apologize and say he would call us back and let us know when he can come out, he never did. I have so many txt messages like that it is crazy. When I had gone to my sister's house and she had the same unit, I was amazed on how cool it kept her house. My husband and I knew there was a problem with our system! This year I decided that enough was enough and call the main office to make an apt. Texting Kevin cell was just not working after a couple years of him not following through with his promise. I called the main number and spoke to a gal at the office. I told her all that was the past couple years with Kevin saying he would call or come out but never would. She apologized and said she will get me an apt. The following week Kevin showed up and assessed the situation. He told me that our system had so much build up on it. I said well this has been going on since we got it installed. He checked our vents and believed that maybe we had a vent issue. I asked if he would check if there was a kink in the line because the only unit not working right was in our living room. He did not think it was that and said he would need to come back for a full cleaning of the system. I asked if he could do that today and told me that he would need to come back with the machine that cleans it and set aside a couple hours to do that. He left telling me that someone will call me to make an apt. I did not trust his word given his track record with us, so the next day I called to get on the books for the cleaning. I got an apt set the following week between 3-5. I was working that day but took 2 hours of vacation time to be home. They never called or showed up! I contacted the office the next day and she told me that they could not find a charger to work for the machine. I informed her that it would be nice to get a phone call if they are not coming since I had to take vacation time. She told me that Kevin said he did call and leave a message. I told her no I did not receive any calls as my phone is always with me. They set me up for another apt the following week so they can get a new charger. Txt message came at 5 saying they were in route. I even called the main office that morning to confirm the apt. At 6:30 that night we received a call from Kevin saying that the new charger they bought does not work. At this point I could not believe this is happening. Kevin did not apologize other than pass blame on another bad charger from a company he purchased it from and informed me that it was $500. He said he would come out once he gets a replacement. Weeks had come and gone. I left several messages asking them to call me back for an apt but no call back. I was amazed! I could not believe this is how they do business. After 3 years of trying to get them to fix the issue, they truly did not want to help us. I have been so patient over the years and at this point I needed to find another company. I called Hybrid Heating and air conditioning and explained my situation. The gal reassured me that they will follow through with their apts. They certainly did! They showed up the time they said they would. The guy was very thorough, checked our lines and assessed the issue. He did say he needed to clean the system, that their was build up but will start with that. They came back the following week. He took the system apart and cleaned it thoroughly. I asked him about the pressure washing machine that BOD was talking about doing. He believes that using that machine only creates more issues. He told me he likes to do it correct by cleaning each part and putting it back together. Since then our system has been working great. It is much cooler in our home and we are much happier. Hybrid took good care of us and it was nice to do business with them. Since then we had a neighbor next door to us share through conversation his experience with BOD. Without even knowing what we went through with them, he shared the same story of the no shows and calls. We informed him about what happened and was thankful he will not go with them. read more

Great experience. Our furnace broke in the middle of winter. Kevin & his team came to replace it at a very competitive price fairly quickly. Been meaning to write this review but kept pushing it off. Kevin explained how the system works, and provided some insights & tips that were very helpful. The AC still worked but it was very old so I expressed interest in replacing it as well. Kevin actually told me to wait until a better rebate program comes out. I had it replaced anyway, but this shows you this shop wasn't going to make a quick buck by sacrificing customer's best interest. I highly recommend this shop for your HVAC needs. read more

I had a system put in three years ago by another company and it was never installed correctly. The dampers and zones were never set up to work with the new system, and so every time it got cold, the heater quit working. They were VERY rude, and the last time, actually replied to my yelp by saying I was lying and I was at fault...I was livid. So I began looking for someone to fix this for me, and then I figured I'd have to sue for the amount. Best Owner Direct came out, sold me parts at the cost of the part, then put them in, and made commitments with me that they will even come to check in the summer. They offer 100 percent money back satisfaction, and they are KNOWLEDGEABLE! On time, worked, quickly, and fixed what the other company did not do. We went to Best Owner Direct HVAC 2 years ago. we live in a house less than 10 years old. When they came out they diagnosed one thing we would pay, then another, we would pay and so on for about 4-5 service calls. Two different guys came out. One broke the manifold(which now Kevin the owner is saying someone else did) They are the only HVAC company we have ever used. Then they said we needed a new unit which we paid for. At this point we are close to $6000(which today when he came out he said we have only paid $3300 total). I have records of all of the money we have paid. First bit of sun we tried to turn on our AC and it won't work. This is now 7 service calls later. It should be under warranty but the first thing he says before walking into our house is he will be charging us. Again! Now it is probably a faulty thermostat and that is not covered under warranty. Why would that not be something we checked on the 6 prior service calls? Then he tried to say we broke the manifold or someone else did. I have never worked with a more bandaid company. I asked for his CCB# and he wouldn't give it to me but told me to go to his website. He is going off the service records on his phone when he was not the person that came here half the time and clearly someone is not tracking all the money we have put into this as he only has "records" of half. We will be filing a complaint with the CCB. I put a review on his Facebook page and he removed it. read more

Our A/C stopped working during the record heat wave in PDX in late June 2021. Most HVAC repair companies were scheduling well into August (it was late June), I was able to easily schedule an appointment online for early July. An email confirming my appointment was sent to my email. Cody arrived on time and was very courteous and professional. Offered to wear a mask if necessary (it wasn't). Our HVAC is in our attic which makes it a bit more difficult to access and very HOT! Cody was highly experienced and prepared to get to work regardless of access or excessive heat. Cody asked about this issue and went right to work inspecting our HVAC. He quickly diagnosed the issue (motor on the furnace). He had the part on his truck and offered a very reasonable price including labor. I will be coming back to Best Owner Direct for all of my future HVAC needs/repair and annual servicing and highly recommend them to anyone with HVAC needs! read more

Our (very old) HVAC system went out, and I know little to nothing about them so I wasn't even sure what to tell the tech. Kevin came out and found the problem immediately, swapped a part, then cleaned out our filter and condenser and it's blowing cold air better than before. Both ac systems failed inspection. We had a heck of of time with their electricians. It took them over a week to finish the install. My husband withheld the final payment until it passed inspection, since it failed the first one, but they debited our account anyways without our consent. We had two systems installed and half of the upstairs of my house is still warmer than when I had my 28yr old air conditioner. A nightmare. read more

A good friend of mine recently used Kevin for repairs to his AC unit. He was pleased with the honesty and fairness of Kevin's work and referred me to him. I called Kevin as my AC unit also wasn't functioning. Over the phone, he helped me diagnose and troubleshoot the problem. I tackled the repair myself and for the cost of a couple of replacement fuses successfully completed the repair and am ready for the 100+ degree temps coming this weekend! I was referred to Best Owner by my Naturopath after discussing the need for a better house filtration system on our AC. We also needed to have the duct work under our house replaced as the mice decided to customize it. Kevin and Anje were professional from the very start. Kevin came to the house and was able to work around our unique situation. We scheduled the start date about a month out and Kevin showed up on the start date.
