My first experience, they came out the following day and had me up and going in no time. Unfortunately my equipment was old and eventually my AC went out all together. I was stressed out because it's the middle of summer and everyone is so busy, and AC units can be so expensive. I didn't think I would have a cool house for at least two or three weeks . I called Jason and he had someone out quickly to assess my situation. His technition explained my situation and unfortunately we needed a new air conditioner. Jason went to work finding me the right equipment for our home. After a good discussion, we chose a unit that was a little more expensive, but much more quite and energy efficient. I had an amazing experience with an annual maintenance of our air conditioning system as summer is near. They checked every element of our cooling system and replaed the air filter, cleaned the furnace (above and beyond) and made our air conditionning unit look and act like new. What impressed me was that in the end - it was about results and they wrapped up by testing the temperature (difference) due to the air conditioner. Similar to the other negative reports, Jason came out and eventually provided an attractive quote and an install date but the estimate included no detail. I followed up 6 times (calls, texts, and emails) to make sure his quote included everything his competitors specified but he simply doesn't respond. Finally, the day before the job, I tried again and got an email back saying he's overbooked and behind schedule and not interested in our project. Jason from Lakeside, has been out to our home multiple times unfortunately. We had a coolant leak, I believe, the first time, then he has serviced us, then he helped us to get the "cool" happening as the unit (which is 20 + years old,) sometimes has issues when it hits the 100 degree plus. We recently had him come out to quote a complete AC system and furnace replacement as our landlords are looking to update. Jason immediately recognized our house and recalled his previous visits. My furnace stopped working last night. I called Lakeside this morning, spoke with the receptionist (very nice) who reported they were pretty booked because of recent inclement weather but would try and get a technician to stop by. About 30 min. later I got a text from a tech (Taylor). About an hour or so later, Taylor was at my house inspecting the furnace and thermostat. He was knowledgeable, professional, courteous and pleasant. He spent at least an hour looking over the system and testing. In the end, the furnace was working, he diagnosed some potential areas to keep my eye on, and didn't try to hard sell me on replacing or repairing things. I was very pleased with the quality and speed of service, I'll definitely use Lakeside again for my HVAC needs, and highly recommend to friends and family. read more

I called Lakeside Heating & Cooling and spoke with Taylor. I told her I was babysitting 7 dogs and was worried more about them than myself. Insert serious narrative voice: In a world, where millions of people were working from home full-time, the sun emerged with a vengeance - cooking the land to temperatures over 90 degrees, so much so that even air conditioners decided it was too hot for even them to work. There was one company who wouldn't give up on humanity. That company was Lakeside Heating & Cooling. Insert orchestral crescendo. That's right! for Father's Day/Pride/Juneteenth, our A/C was like "nope, thanks, I just can't do this anymore. No, no, it's not you - it's me. I need to work on myself". So we're all "Please, A/C, we love you just the way you are, we can change!" (we were lying, and it could tell because we're totally not going to change). Long meandering story slightly shorter, Lakeside Heating & Cooling was actually able to squeeze us in same day and fixed our A/C within a half hour. We'd already done a bunch of troubleshooting, so we felt SO GOOD when Benjamin came out and seemed to appreciate our efforts, but then quickly and efficiently fixed our A/C. It was the run capacitor... which I refuse to call anything but the Flux Capacitor (1.21 Gigawatts!!!) and he replaced it insanely quickly so we could get Back to the Future... I've beat that dead horse. I'm done now. Or am I? I can't recommend this company enough! Fast, courteous, effective, fair, awesome. And now I'm going to make like a tree, and get out of here. Lakeside installed our HVAC system and from the get go it had issues with the vents popping and clicking. They were not responsive. Despite multiple voicemails, emails, and messages left with the staff, I received no phone calls. I was really looking forward to using a smaller company to add air conditioning to our home - unfortunately it won't be this company. I called for an appointment and waited for Jason to appear at the time of the appointment. Almost 45 minutes after the set appointment time I called and was told Jason was running a little late. Like many people I work from home and have scheduled meetings I have to make - it would have been better for someone to call and let me know instead of me contacting them. Jason finally came almost an hour late and took measurements and said I would have an estimate in a few days. Almost three weeks later I have heard nothing from Jason or Lakeside. This was one of my best customer experiences in quite a long time. Jason was very quick to come to the house and give me an estimate to replace our very well used heat pump. The estimate arrived in a couple of days. The estimate included options we didn't receive from another vendor who only gave us one option. Jason did give us the same option the other vendor gave us but his price was much less. He's a straight shooter who has been in the business for a long time and isn't in to suggesting a higher priced solution if you don't need it. We hired another heating and cooling company to come do our annual service of both our furnace and A/C units. During the service the person told us that we had modules going out on both of our units...strange as our units are both 5 years old. I started asking about them being under warranty and he didn't know much so I called Jason and I put him on speaker with the other serviceman. Jason then had to instruct him on how to warranty our the part. We thought we were in good shape from there until he quoted us roughly $900 for a part on the furnace, not including labor and $300 in labor for the A/C, which I'm guessing would have been the labor charge for the furnace as well. At that point I called Jason and he said said he'd have someone from his company come take a look so we asked the other company to finish the service but do no more than that. Jason had his tech Brandon at our house today who found that our furnace was in perfect working order and that while the part on the A/C was testing a bit low it probably didn't need to be replaced but he did it anyway since he was here, at no charge. If we hadn't called Jason and he hadn't guided us, we'd likely be out $1,600. Thank you Jason and Brandon for acting with integrity and saving us so much money. He was very honest and fair with his diagnosis since it was only a blown fuse and was done in less than a half hour. We obtained three estimates for the replacement of our complete HVAC system and Lakeside H&C was very competitive. They provided good options and recommendations. Sales rep was very knowledgeable and professional. Installation schedule was agreed upon and they arrived on time. The three man crew got right to work and were very careful about furniture and other possible damage. Installation was very smooth until they found a factory defect in new unit. They ordered another which arrived in a few minutes. It was also defective so they called for another. None in stock so they upgraded unit at no cost. This was more work and more cost which they absorbed. They said they would never leave us without working units. They finished a little later than expected but it was worth the extra time. Lakeside has been our "go to" guys since we moved to Portland because the customer service/care was over the top. This fall we decided to replace our 22 year old heating and air conditioning units at the same time. We didn't get a handful of bids instead we called only Lakeside because of the great service we have received the last 4 years. Despite the Covid19 environment within three weeks all the pieces were available and the installation completed. The installation crew ( Eric and Dre) worked as a well rehearsed team.
